New ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-600mm F2.4 - F4 Lens
The impressive 24-600mm ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* lens on the Cyber-shot RX10 III camera features a large maximum aperture of F2.4 - F4.0, helping it achieve outstanding image quality throughout the entire zoom range, all the way up to ultra-telephoto. This differentiates it from many other high-zoom lenses that often struggle with light-gathering at longer focal lengths. The aperture unit itself has nine blades that are designed to create a near perfect circle in the F2.4 - F11 range, enabling shooters to create content with beautiful bokeh, where the subject stands out against a softly defocused background.
In total, the extended zoom lens features eight ED glass elements including one super ED glass element, five ED glass elements and two ED aspherical lenses, which all work together to minimize chromatic aberration and deliver high-contrast, ultra-sharp image quality. It also has ZEISS® T* Coating for minimizing flare and ghosting and delivering accurate, faithful color reproduction.
The new lens has built-in Optical SteadyShot(TM) image stabilization that helps to reduce camera shake and image blur, in particular when shooting at longer focal lengths. When active, the OSS is equivalent to shooting at a shutter speed approximately 4.5 stops(3) faster than the current setting of the camera.
Additionally, with a minimum focusing distance of 72 cm (2.36 ft) and 0.49x maximum magnification at a fully extended 600mm, the new lens is capable of producing amazingly detailed tele-macro images.
High Quality Image Detail
The RX10 III features a back-illuminated 20.1 MP 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine that allow the camera to achieves a wide sensitivity range of ISO 64(4) - ISO 12800 and produce images with exceptionally low noise, even at higher sensitivity settings.
Additionally, the rear of the sensor has a DRAM chip that allows it to read and process large volumes of data exceptionally fast, enabling the camera to shoot super slow motion video at up to 960 fps. The powerful DRAM chip also allows the RX10 III to shoot continuously at up to 14fps with minimal blackout.
With shutter speeds as fast as 1/32000 second, the electronic shutter on the RX10 III minimizes image distortion at faster shutter speeds. It also offers silent shooting at all settings and speeds, ensuring all content can be captured quietly without disrupting the subject, a powerful feature when combined with the wide-ranging zoom lens.
High Quality 4K Movie Recording
The new RX10 III model becomes the latest and most versatile Cyber-shot RX camera to offer the advantages of 4K (QFHD 3840x2160) movie recording thanks to its far-reaching 24-600mm lens, which gives videographers the luxury of shooting high quality 4K video from extreme distances.

The new RX10 III camera is equipped with an impressive autofocus system with spatial object detection, allowing the camera to detect and predict motion of a subject before the shutter button is pressed, This helps the camera achieve an incredibly fast and efficient AF response when the shutter is halfway pressed, enabling it to lock on to a subject in as little as 0.09 seconds( 8). Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory And IBM Collaborate To Build Brain-Inspired Supercomputer
Chip-architecture breakthrough accelerates path to exascale computing; Helps computers tackle complex, cognitive tasks such as pattern recognition and sensory processing
LIVERMORE, Calif. and ARMONK, N.Y., March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) today announced it has purchased a first-of-a-kind brain-inspired supercomputing platform for deep learning inference developed by IBM Research (NYSE: IBM). Based on a breakthrough neurosynaptic computer chip called IBM TrueNorth, the scalable platform will process the equivalent of 16 million neurons and 4 billion synapses and consume the energy equivalent of a tablet computer - a mere 2.5 watts of power for the 16 TrueNorth chips. The brain-like, neural network design of the IBM Neuromorphic System is able to infer complex cognitive tasks such as pattern recognition and integrated sensory processing far more efficiently than conventional chips.
The new system will be used to explore new computing capabilities important to the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) missions in cyber security, stewardship of the nation's nuclear deterrent and non-proliferation. NNSA's Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) program will evaluate machine learning applications, deep learning algorithms and architectures and conduct general computing feasibility studies. ASC is a cornerstone of NNSA's Stockpile Stewardship Program to ensure the safety, security and reliability of the nation's nuclear deterrent without underground testing.

A single TrueNorth processor consists of 5.4 billion transistors wired together to create an array of 1 million digital neurons that communicate with one another via 256 million electrical synapses. At 0.8 volts, it consumes 70 milliwatts of power running in real time and delivers 46 giga synaptic operations per second - orders of magnitude lower energy than a conventional computer running inference on the same neural network. TrueNorth was originally developed under the auspices of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) Systems of Neuromorphic Adaptive Plastic Scalable Electronics (SyNAPSE) program in collaboration with Cornell University.
Under terms of the contract, LLNL will receive a 16-chip TrueNorth system representing a total of 16 million neurons and 4 billion synapses. [NASDAQ: MCHP], a leading provider of microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and Flash-IP solutions, has announced the MCP990X family of System Management Bus (SMBus) temp sensor ICs for monitoring of up to four channels in cold, outdoor and industrial low-temperature applications ranging from freezers and refrigerators to base stations and remote radio units. With +1 degree C maximum accuracy for both external and internal diode temperatures from -40 degrees C to +65 degrees C, these ICs provide a low-cost, highly flexible solution where precision is needed at lower temperatures.
Advanced features of the MCP990X family include remote diode temperature measurement with resistance error correction that compensates for voltage drops from connectors and long board traces, enabling accurate readings of up to 20 inches away from the IC. Injected system noise from components such as DC-DC converters and backlight inverters is also minimised with a sample-frequency hopping filter, allowing for easier placement and routing. The combination of these features with options for dual, triple and quad temperature monitoring provides for a wider range of measurement opportunities for an entire system with a single IC.

Additionally, a 3x3 footprint package is available for the MCP9903 triple and MCP9904 quad temp sensors.

Brazil's Digital Payments Giant Now Offers Full-Coverage Local Payment Options for Online Games in Chile
