ASE Member aphremen is reporting that Hawaii has been hit by a large earthquake. The quake measured 6.5 on the scale and hit 6 miles north of the island of Hawaii (the big one). aphremen says it was the "strongest quake I've ever felt" and that the power has been out since the incident. AM radio does not work and neither does the internet. Hawaii is basically a big volcano and these earthquakes are what to expect. More information as it comes in.

Update: The quake lasted for about a full minute. Halfway through, the power went out.

Update 2: aphremen is not longer giving information. The cell towers may be down.
