ISSI Expands Audio Portfolio with I2S Class-D Audio Amplifiers
Supports 20W Stereo or 40W Mono with 20 Band Equalizer and Dynamic Range Control
MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISSI), a leader in advanced memory and analog IC solutions, continued to grow its audio amplifier portfolio with the release of two high performance Class-D power amplifiers. The IS31AP2111 and IS31AP2121 are the first I2S Digital Input Class D amplifiers to address the needs of medium-power multimedia applications such as Bluetooth speakers, sound bars, LCD projectors, HDTVs, media docking stations and radio equipment.
Audio designs employing the IS31AP2111 or IS31AP2121 will benefit from an I2S (Inter-IC Sound) serial bus interface. The I2S interface transfers audio signals in digital format to maintain maximum audio quality when distributed between audio devices. The I2S bus separates clock and serial data signals, resulting in significantly lower jitter and higher noise immunity than analog audio amplifiers.
"ISSI's new I2S input interface devices enable system designers to deliver what consumers have come to expect from high quality personal and home audio solutions. These devices incorporate a host of features to enhance audio quality and reliability at a low cost by simplifying the audio signal chain," stated Ven Shan, VP of Analog Products at ISSI. "The new products will address medium- to high-power audio amplifier needs in consumer, industrial and aftermarket automotive applications."
The IS31AP2111 and IS31AP2121 are 20 Watt power amplifiers with advanced audio processing capabilities, such as 3D surround sound, audio mixing, 20 band equalizer, dynamic range and volume control -- all programmable via an I2C interface. Both devices operate in a BTL (Bridge-Tied Load) mode, which efficiently doubles the available power to the speaker load. In BTL operation, there is no need for a DC blocking capacitor between the amplifier and speaker, which saves cost and space, all without power loss even at low frequencies. In addition, the IS31AP2121 supports 2.1 mode and Parallel Bridge-Tied Load (PBTL) to efficiently deliver even more power (40W) to a 4 ohm speaker load.
The IS31AP2111 and IS31AP2121 have advanced built-in controls for seamless audio operation. Appropriate control signals suppress pop sounds during initial power on/off, power up/down and mute, while also offering a volume fade-in/fade-out design for power down and mute functions. The 3D virtual surround sound technology provides greater separation and depth of voice quality for stereo signals. The devices also have built-in protection circuits including thermal, short-circuit and under-voltage for reliable and robust operation.
Price and Availability
The IS31AP2111 is available in a thermally enhanced 24 pin eTSSOP type package while the IS31AP2121 is available in a thermally enhanced 48 pin eLQFP type package. The IS31AP2111 is priced at $1.20 each and the IS31AP2121 is priced at $1.30 each in 1,000 piece quantities.
Speaker Amplifier Devices
ISSI's audio amplifier product family includes Class-D, Class-G, Class-K and Class-AB devices with output power levels from less than 1W up to 40W. AGS® Partners with Hostess® to Launch Iconic Twinkie® Brand on its Lucky Play Casino(TM) App
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AGS® (the "Company"), a leading supplier of Class II and Class III slot machines, as well as specialty table products and social mobile games, announced today that its interactive division ("AGSi") has inked a deal with Hostess® and, in turn, is launching a slot game titled Twinkie® 7's on its successful play-for-fun Lucky Play Casino(TM) app for iOS.
"The launch of Twinkie 7's is an exciting milestone for AGSi and significantly bolsters our growing library of social casino titles," said Mani Honigstein, General Manager of AGSi. "Equally exciting is our new partnership with the iconic and beloved Hostess brand, which creates potential for more opportunities in the future. We are confident that Twinkie 7's will not only resonate well with the millennial demographic on social casino channels but also with long-time fans of the classic treats."
Aside from making players really hungry, Twinkie 7's aims to be a whole lot of fun. The game features some of Hostess' most popular treats - Ho Hos®, Sno Balls®, and of course, Twinkies - as bonus symbols. Earning a certain amount of these bonus symbols triggers a Triple Wheel Bonus round, leading to even bigger wins.
This launch comes on the heels of AGS' recent acquisition of RocketPlay, a renowned developer of social casino titles for mobile devices based in San Francisco, CA with a development studio in Tel Aviv, Israel. Since acquiring RocketPlay, which AGS rebranded as AGSi, several of the Company's popular land-based slot titles have been integrated into AGSi's flagship app, Lucky Play Casino, and its recently launched iOS app, Vegas Fever(TM). Among the titles available for play on Lucky Play Casino for iOS are Royal Reels(TM), So Hot(TM), Monkey in the Bank(TM), Golden Panda(TM), and, now, Twinkie 7's.
"Having land-based game content available on social platforms is essential for building brand awareness and enables us to offer tried-and-true games with proven math models," continued Honigstein. "Games like Royal Reels and So Hot have been successful on live casino floors for a long time. That success has translated well in the social space, where our mobile users enjoy the same dynamics that made the land-based games so popular."
Lucky Play Casino is also currently available for Android devices and AGSi has plans to integrate land-based titles onto that platform in the near future. Additionally, the Company is working to release an Android version of Vegas Fever.

iomart Invests in Cisco ASR 9912 Routers to Expand Network Capacity
GLASGOW, Scotland, November 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Moves Internet Exchange Point out of London for Greater Resilience
Cloud computing company iomart [http://www.iomart.com ] has made a significant capital
investment in Cisco routing technology to ensure its network can meet the growing demand
for capacity as the growth in Internet traffic continues.
iomart has installed two Cisco ASR 9912 Routers to future proof against the high data
demand it expects to be placed on its network by customers, putting it on a par with some
of the big Internet transit carriers. The new routers give iomart four times as much port
density as was previously available. Increasing switch port density boosts network
performance by allowing simultaneous transmissions of data and increasing the bandwidth or
volume of information that can be transferred.
The Cisco ASR 9912 Routers
[http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/asr-9912-router/index.html ] support 10
line-card slots, with each slot capable of switching up to two Tbps of bi-directional
traffic. In its first phase, the system will support 4+1 fabric cards allowing 550 Gbps of
non-redundant (440 Gbps redundant) switching capacity.
One router has also been moved out of London to an Internet Exchange point in Slough
to ensure greater resilience for iomart's network in the event of a major incident in the
capital. The network improvement will allow iomart to peer directly with major European
cities without the need to route traffic via London, resulting in reduced Internet latency
on these routes.
Angus MacSween, CEO of iomart, says: "This is another significant investment by iomart
giving us the big network we need to meet the ever greater data demands of business. It
will give us the capacity to carry huge amounts of traffic out to the Internet from our
data centres. Few hosting companies of our size are making investments like this but we
want our customers to know that it doesn't matter how much video, mobile or file data they
are creating, we can handle it for them."
The routers also give iomart the ability to absorb much larger amounts of attack data
via its Arbor DDoS Peakflow platform [http://www.iomart.com/network/ddos-protection ] and
deliver clean traffic out to customers without affecting their services.
Richard McMahon, Group Head of Technical Operations for iomart, said: "It's like
having the latest Ferrari of the Internet world. These routers give us huge capacity and
huge throughput to deliver our hosting services to customers with no risk of network
failure."
Last year iomart announced it had carried out the first major deployment of Cisco(R)
Dynamic Fabric Automation (DFA) and Bi Directional (BiDi) Transmission technology to turn
its newly expanded data centre in Maidenhead, one of ten it owns and operates in the UK,
into a truly software defined data centre

Dynamsoft Barcode Reader SDK Update Includes Ability to Decode Barcodes from PDF Files
Version 4.0 Update Adds PDF Rasterizer to Read 1D and 2D Barcodes from PDFs and Expands Upon Supported 2D Barcode Symbols
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamsoft today announced version 4.0 of its Barcode Reader software development kit (SDK), which has added a PDF rasterizer to decode 1D and 2D barcodes from PDF documents. The updated SDK has also expanded its list of supported barcode symbols.
The expanded barcode symbol support now includes 2D barcode decoding of DATAMATRIX and PDF417 standards. Also, in another update, the .NET version of the SDK will support Visual Studio's® AnyCPU option for enhanced platform integration. These updates build upon other recent updates. This past summer, Dynamsoft added support for decoding barcodes from GIF images in addition to already having support for BMP, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images. The company had also recently optimized the decoding algorithm for reading code128 barcode types, resulting in noticeably improved accuracy of around 10 percent.
"These upgrades continue to expand application reach for our Barcode Reader SDK," said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. "They build upon an already established simple and intuitive use of APIs to implement barcode reading within just a few lines of code. And this is on top of Windows® and Mac® versions of the SDKs to cover various development environments."
Dynamsoft's Barcode Reader SDK allows application developers to almost instantly embed barcode decoding functionality into their web or desktop applications. It requires just a few lines of code instead of coding hundreds to more than a thousand lines from scratch. This is on top of also needing to spend many more months learning relevant standards. It saves months of development time and costs and also reduces the need for long-term costs and support related to development.
Dynamsoft's Barcode Reader 4.0 provides C, C++, ActiveX / COM and .NET application programming interfaces (API). Once the SDK is integrated in an application, users can decode barcodes from various image file formats or from a PDF document. This also includes from device-independent bitmap (DIB) formats, which can be obtained from cameras or scanners.
Pricing and Availability
Dynamsoft's Barcode Reader 4.0 SDK will be provided with rich code samples. It will be backed by technical support channels that include an online knowledge base, email, chat, phone and more. It will be available for purchase and download from the Dynamsoft website starting Nov. 3, 2015. For web applications, the deployment license starts at $998.75 per production server. For desktop applications, the developer license is $373.75 per developer and requires a run-time license for desktop distributions.

+/- 1.5 charges (3,000mAh) of mobile phone power into a belt you can wear every day. With
its proprietary Encapsulpak(TM) technology, Krause and Ridyard have created a
revolutionary new way to ensure the safety of lithium ion batteries while being worn on a
person's body. No more bulky and easy to forget battery packs and chargers. Just don't
forget your pants!
This handsome upgrade to your simple waist belt is compatible with almost any
rechargeable device and boasts a speedy 1.5 hours full charge/discharge time. Designed to
make life as simple as possible, the Ion Belt has a USB plug built right into its fine
leather, so users can charge their devices straight from their pockets - anytime,
anywhere. The buckle also has a low-profile USB plug built into it, so that charging the
belt is as easy as charging a phone. Simply plug the belt into a wall adapter or laptop -
no cord needed!
Krause shot to fame when he appeared on ABC's Shark Tank with his invention Scrub
Daddy, which received investment from business mogul Lori Greiner and quickly became the
show's biggest success story. Â Soon after, Krause had a vision for the Ion Belt when he
ran out of power while on a crucial business call. In January of this year, Ridyard
launched the luxury XOO smartphone-charging belt on the London catwalk getting Krause's
attention and the two decided to found a startup dedicated to making beautifully designed
wearable technology accessible to all. Â
"After I lost a crucially important business call, I found myself carrying a bulky
external charger with me at all times because the battery on my phone would drain so
quickly. Then it hit me! I simply need to integrate charging technology into something I
already wear - I thought: 'How about a belt?' After endless tinkering and hundreds of
design iterations, the Ion Belt was born to solve phone battery problems for good."
About ITW Â
ITW was founded by a desire to make life-enhancing wearable technology affordable for
all. Driven by a passion for problem-solving and creative design, ITW intends to use its
patented belt technology as the cornerstone of a ground-breaking wearables business.
In addition to Aaron Krause and Piers Ridyard, ITW has a dedicated and highly
experienced team - all of whom have either run their own successful startup or worked at
one - with backgrounds ranging from product development, law, accountancy and asset
management to logistics and graphic design.

Huawei Unveils Its OceanStor Flash Strategy to Accelerate Flash Memory Adoption in Data Centres Across Europe
LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei today launched its OceanStor Flash Strategy in Europe, with the aim of widening the adoption of flash memory in data centres, and helping customers step into an "all-flash" era where high performance and excellent reliability are the norm.
Huawei has developed its strategy to intensify work with its partners in the industry supply chain, producing innovative flash controllers, media chips and new enterprise storage systems based on "all-flash" technology. The launch of the OceanStor Flash Strategy took place at the Media Day, held in conjunction with the Huawei CIO Forum and Network Congress taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, today and tomorrow.
The core of the strategy sees Huawei integrating solid-state drives (SSDs) into its storage products sold throughout Europe, following its launch in China at the beginning of September. Equivalent to 15K RPM SAS disks in price, SSDs can bring more benefits for customers for the same budget and improve critical service performance fivefold, while effectively mitigating the impact of the environment on disk arrays.
Huawei signed its first collaboration agreement under the new strategy with flash memory provider Micron at the 2015 Huawei Cloud Congress in Shanghai in September, with a view to producing innovative technologies to expand the adoption of SSD flash memory in data centres.
"The move to integrate flash memory in data storage will deliver optimal user experience and low power consumption. It is well suited to customers' business needs now and in the future, and is a vital tool in addressing the challenges of Big Data," commented Yuan Yaun, CTO of Huawei IT Solutions Sales in Western Europe. "Cooperation with Micron in the flash memory area is another shining example of Huawei's long-term commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem for partners within the industry chain, and jointly developing industry-specific product solutions."
Compared with conventional enterprise storage vendors, Huawei employs "future-proof" software architecture, allowing Huawei to move rapidly when researching and developing storage products in line with emerging data application trends. Huawei also seeks to combine the wisdom and knowledge of multiple parties in the supply chain to develop truly unique solutions, rather than simply following the technological trends of the moment and the leadership of others.
"We cannot achieve innovation by ourselves. Everything we have created, obtained, and achieved would not be possible without the joint efforts of our partners and the unflinching trust of our customers," added Mr Yuan. "As the IT industry becomes open and free, and the IT market continues to grow, Huawei looks forwards to teaming up with partners to build application solutions oriented to end systems, and to continuously improving the level of industrial technology and innovation needed while meeting its long-term commitments."
About Huawei
Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. Our aim is to enrich life and improve efficiency through a better connected world, acting as a responsible corporate citizen, innovative enabler for the information society, and collaborative contributor to the industry. Driven by customer-centric innovation and open partnerships, Huawei has established an end-to-end ICT solutions portfolio that gives customers competitive advantages in telecom and enterprise networks, devices and cloud computing. Our innovative ICT solutions, products and services are used in more than 170 countries and regions, serving over one-third of the world's population. This luxurious micro-foam fills the Japanese-style Soft Brush to easily apply cleanser to skin and gently lift away dirt and impurities from pores and skin.
"In traditional Japanese-style skincare, the double cleansing technique gently removes makeup and then purifies the skin," said Corrie Murphy, Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Beauty Merchandising, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "Embracing our Japanese heritage, Panasonic adopted the double cleansing method to help develop this unique all-in-one tool with advanced patented technology to offer a new way to cleanse gently, yet effectively."
The new Micro-Foaming Cleansing Device (MSRP $249.99) is now available for purchase on Panasonic.com and will be available in beauty specialty stores later this year.

Following Success in Games Industry, Umbra Evolves the Future of 3D Technology After Securing Millions in New Equity
HELSINKI, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Software company Umbra, a pioneering graphics technology supplier in the game industry, announced today that it has closed a $3.4M Series A round of financing. The investors include Inventure, Lifeline Ventures and Initial Capital as well as prominent angel investors.
Umbra will use the raised capital to further develop technology for streaming and rendering any 3D content on any target device in real time. The company aims to create a new technical standard that provides a solution for displaying the ever increasing 3D content in various industries.
Looking forward, Umbra's evolving technology will solve challenges such as 3D scanning that requires high-performance software to process vast and complex data sets. Advanced 3D scanning creates detailed models out of real life objects like buildings, environments or even complete cities. Future growth areas benefiting from Umbra's innovation include architectural planning, construction engineering, digital maps and simulations.
The demand for efficient 3D visibility solutions is growing rapidly in the market. Companies like Google and Apple are scanning our surroundings into virtual models despite the fact that today's consumer technology cannot visualize such massive data sets. The emerging platforms such as virtual and augmented reality push the envelope even further, demanding staggering frame rates and performance.
Experience in Video Game Industry Drives 3D Innovation
Umbra's new technology is built upon the company's existing 3D visibility solution which increases rendering performance of applications by processing only the content that is visible to the user. The current software has been successfully used to optimize 3D content in AAA video game productions over the last ten years.
"We're expanding our technology to enable storing, streaming and rendering of massive 3D data sets. We already have a functional prototype that will be first released on top of game engines such as Unity and Unreal. Our goal is to make 3D available for everyone in the future," says the company CEO Otso Mäkinen.
In order to revolutionize the future of 3D, Umbra will be hiring a variety of new talents to support the newly funded technology project. Video games remain in Umbra's focus as the key driver for development in the field of interactive graphics.
About Umbra
Umbra has been powering up graphics performance in more than 100 video games during the last 10 years. Clients include internationally renowned game studios that have produced commercially successful AAA productions such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Batman Arkham Knight, Quantum Break, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Destiny. Is Your Privacy Protected on Your Mobile Phone? LEO Privacy Guard Provides the Answer
SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- What comes to mind for most consumers when they think about the internet? The talented individuals behind the huge companies? The robust development of the sector? How fast the internet took off? The incredible and ongoing progress? Everyone has his or her own viewpoint. However, a fact that the internet continues to expand rapidly in line with global expectations, especially the mobile side, is unavoidable.
Mobile apps are the single most tangible piece of evidence demonstrating the success of the internet. A large number of the mobile apps released in the last few years have targeted the gadget and game segments of the market. A strong market response has spurred the release of mobile apps for every kind of application imaginable. Among some of the more recent releases, LEOMASTER has become an eye-catcher in the mobile privacy protection segment. It is also the first of its kind.
LEOMASTER was established in July of 2014 and launched the LEO Privacy Guard in November of the same year. By May of 2015, the application had more than 100 million users worldwide, with the biggest concentrations in Southeast Asia, South Asia and North America, demonstrating that protection of information stored on one's mobile device has become an item of concern among users worldwide and will become even more so with the increasing ubiquity of smartphones.
Data from ERICSSON MOBILITY RESEARCH shows that 340 million smartphones were sold in the second quarter of 2015 alone, up 45% year on year. It is expected that the number of smartphone users worldwide will exceed 4 billion in five years. In North America, smartphone users numbered 250 million in 2014 and is on track to grow to 370 million by 2020, according to this report from ERICSSON MOBILITY RESEARCH. The statistics not only highlight already robust use of smart phones but show how that usage continues to grow rapidly. Yet, two questions come to mind when looking at the numbers: "how will usage patterns evolve" and "are the various forms of usage safe and protected?"
According to the data, 90% of households had at least 3 internet connected devices in 2014, and 97% of U.S. households have a mobile phone. The most frequent uses (in order of frequency) are: texting, voice calls, email, browsing the internet, visiting social networking sites, mobile gaming and music streaming. Furthermore, 37% of the smartphone users willingly download apps just to try something new. The conclusion that can be drawn from this data is that US smartphone users are, indeed, very reliant on and heavy users of their phones, and each time they use their phone presents an opportunity for a leak of their personal information.
LEOMASTER was the first Chinese company to take a serious look at what can be done to protect the privacy on one's mobile device and, in response to a growing demand for such a product, rolled out the LEO Privacy Guard in a move to offer concerned mobile phone users a tool that can comprehensively protect privacy stored on a phone. The application provides a solution for all forms of usage, whether it be the content of a text message and a phone call, pictures or videos that the user rather keep private, or the details of financial transactions in the user's mobile banking and mobile payment apps. The LEO Privacy Guard addresses the issue of the leak of information from any source within the mobile device's entire ecosystem through a series of core functionalities, including APP LOCK, picture hiding and privacy protection. In addition, the functions that were built into the product were driven by the privacy protection needs in the US market - 93% of adults said that being in control of who can get information about them is important. Ninety percent said that controlling what information is collected about them is important, among which, 65% think it is "very important" and 25% say it is "somewhat important." Future updates of the LEO Privacy Guard will reflect the demands, as the needs around the protection of privacy evolve and are better understood.

Connected Health Pioneer, Dr. Joe Kvedar, Publishes First Book, The Internet Of Healthy Things, Focusing On Technology-Enabled Health And Wellness, Trends And Business Opportunities
BOSTON, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Connected health pioneer, Joseph C. Kvedar, MD, describes the phenomena driving the explosion of technology-enabled health and wellness, and the business opportunities that arise from it in his new book, The Internet of Healthy Things. Long before health and wellness trackers, apps, sensors or smartphones even existed, Dr. Kvedar, vice president, Connected Health, Partners HealthCare, was creating a new model of health care delivery, moving care from the hospital or doctor's office into the day-to-day lives of patients.
The Internet of Healthy Things (IoHT) shares Dr. Kvedar's observations as a 20-year veteran in the field, as well as:
-- Insights on consumer behavior, outlining the strategies and programs
that can apply to the coming IoHT, while anticipating future trends
-- Approaches to designing personal health devices and platforms that make
the health consumer experience more compelling and addictive
-- Advice on new and potential applications of form factors that can be
used to connect health information to consumers, from the large variety
of devices flooding the market
-- Strategic advice for startups and entrepreneurs to the connected health
market
-- Interviews with top industry leaders, healthcare providers, innovators
and investors
-- Foreword by Harry L. Leider, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Officer and Group
Vice President, Walgreens
"The Internet of Healthy Things not only marks the twentieth anniversary of Partners Connected Health, but the invention of a radically new way to deliver healthcare and inspire wellness," said Dr. Kvedar. "Today, we have technologies available that were never even dreamed of just 10 years ago, and market dynamics that make connected health solutions a prime driver in changing healthcare delivery. I often see investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders floundering to respond to the exploding opportunities and pace of change. This book takes the lessons we've learned over the past 20 years and brings them into focus, providing guidance on the investments, business strategies and technology considerations necessary to achieve results -- and profit -- from the chaos."
