Marvin Test Solutions Demonstrates Next-Generation Armament Test Solutions at Paris Air Show
Deployed Test Solutions Bridge the Armament Test Gap for 4th and 5th Generation Fighters
PARIS, June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Paris Air Show - Marvin Test Solutions (formerly known as Geotest-Marvin Test Systems), a leading provider of innovative test solutions for military and commercial aerospace industries, is demonstrating its solutions this week at the Paris Air Show in booth 3-C82. With growing challenges including increasingly complex armament systems with longer lifecycles, industry leaders are demanding efficient, feature-rich, specialized aerospace test solutions that address legacy system obsolescence. Marvin Test Solutions has the expertise to meet those demands, and will be showcasing multiple armament test systems at the show.
"As a Retired USAF Major General leading a company with deep experience in armament test, I constantly see the significant challenges in testing today's cutting edge armament systems," said Steve Sargeant, Marvin Test Solutions CEO and The Marvin Group Vice President for Strategic Development. "Our team at the Paris Air Show looks forward to meeting with military and industry leaders this week and demonstrating how our solutions solve the space, energy, and ultimately, maintenance and sustainment test challenges that are of utmost concern in this industry."
Next-Generation Aerospace Test: The Challenge
Over the years, 4(th) and 5(th) generation aircraft have received numerous upgrades to avionics and armament systems. From the F-22 to the A-10, all aircraft now possess "smart" (Mil-STD 1553 and 1760) weapons technology and enhancements to legacy weapons. Today's armament systems bear little resemblance to the original systems; yet, maintainers are still required to use the same or similar armament circuits preload test set (ACPTS) combined with big-box test equipment fielded to verify that these sophisticated armament and munitions systems are full mission capable (FMC). This combination of box testers and ACPTS equipment doesn't deliver the capabilities needed to support today's smart weapons.
Next-Generation Aerospace Test: The Solution
Having identified the armament test gap in legacy 4(th) and 5(th) generation aircraft several years ago, Marvin Test Solutions developed, qualified, and successfully deployed the MTS-3060 SmartCan(TM) universal O-level aircraft armament tester for smart and legacy weapons and systems.
While maintaining the small footprint of the ACPTS, the MTS-3060 tester bridges the armament test gap by combining all of the capabilities of the ACPTS (and the 75501 tester in the case of the F-16), and providing maintainers with the necessary tools to test and troubleshoot today's aircraft loaded with both legacy and "smart" weapons. It provides preload testing of suspended and alternate mission equipment (AME) including missiles, bombs, and rockets, and offers measurement, stimuli, and communications functions previously unavailable at the flight line.
At the Paris Air Show, attendees can see a demonstration of the MTS-3060 tester.
In addition, Marvin Test Solutions is showcasing the MTS-235 F-35 armament tester, a portable test set that combines the test capabilities of an I-Level and D-Level test set in a compact, rugged, flight-line qualified enclosure; the MTS-209 common armament test set that provides I-Level armament test capabilities for F-16, F-15, and many other platforms; the GBATS bench-top production tester; and, various O-Level armament testers for the Hellfire weapons platform at the Paris Air Show.
A History of Proven Expertise
For 25 years, Marvin Test Solutions has provided military- and commercial-off-the-shelf products and custom test systems that are military-ready, offer aerospace-quality performance, and are easily scalable. With proven test equipment currently deployed or ready to deploy on platforms such as the F-35, F-22, A-10, F-16, F-15, TA-50, FA-50, F-5, Hawk, UASs, B737, and B787, Marvin Test Solutions has the demonstrated expertise to deliver superior aerospace test solutions for the flight line, depot and manufacturing test environments.

More customers to benefit from nation's fastest 4G LTE network on the latest devices
SALINAS, Calif., June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* has expanded the nation's fastest 4G LTE network** in Salinas, bringing more customers the latest generation of wireless network technology. AT&T launched 4G LTE in Salinas on February 25, 2013 and the expanded coverage is part of its ongoing rollout across the market.
AT&T 4G LTE coverage now includes parts of King City.
Watch here to see several of the benefits AT&T 4G LTE provides, including:
-- Faster speeds. LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile Internet
speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G***. Customers can stream, download,
upload and game faster than ever before.
-- Cool new devices. AT&T offers several LTE-compatible devices, including
new AT&T 4G LTE smartphones and tablets.
-- Faster response time. LTE technology offers lower latency, or the
processing time it takes to move data through a network, such as how
long it takes to start downloading a webpage or file once you've sent
the request. Lower latency helps to improve services like mobile gaming,
two-way video calling and telemedicine.
-- More efficient use of spectrum. Wireless spectrum is a finite resource,
and LTE uses spectrum more efficiently than other technologies, creating
more space to carry data traffic and services and to deliver a better
network experience.
"We've seen positive response from customers on our 4G LTE launch, and as today's expansion shows, we're continuing our rollout of fast 4G LTE speeds to more areas of Salinas," said Terry Stenzel, Vice President and General Manager for Northern California and Northern Nevada.
AT&T's 4G Network
AT&T's innovation and investment has resulted in the nation's largest 4G network, covering more than 292 million people with ultra-fast speeds and a more consistent user experience. Our 4G LTE network delivered faster average download and upload speeds than any of our competitors in PCWorld/TechHive's most recent 20-market speed tests.
AT&T's 4G LTE network delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, as well as multiple innovations that optimize the network for performance. Our network's radio components are placed close to the antenna at most cell sites, instead of inside the base station, which helps minimize power loss between the base station and antenna and, in turn, improves the performance of our 4G LTE network. The network also is designed with its core elements distributed across the country, which helps reduce latency, or the delay when using the Internet, because your request isn't traveling as far.
Even as AT&T continues to expand its 4G LTE coverage, customers can get 4G speeds outside of 4G LTE areas on our 4G HSPA+ network, unlike some competitors, where smartphone customers may fall back to slower 3G technologies when outside of LTE coverage.
AT&T's focus to deliver the best possible mobile Internet experience goes beyond 4G to embrace additional connection technologies. AT&T operates the nation's largest Wi-Fi network**** including more than 32,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots at popular restaurants, hotels, bookstores and retailers, and provides access to more than 402,000 hotspots globally through roaming agreements. Most AT&T smartphone customers get access to our entire national Wi-Fi network at no additional cost, and Wi-Fi usage doesn't count against customers' monthly wireless data plans.
AT&T also is a leading developer of Distributed Antenna Systems, which utilize multiple small antennas to maximize coverage and speed within stadiums, convention centers, office buildings, hotels and other areas where traditional coverage methods are challenging.
Over the past five years, AT&T invested nearly $98 billion into its operations across the country. Since 2008, AT&T has invested more capital into the U.S. economy than any other public company. In a July 2012 report, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. "Investment Heroes."

New 20kbps to 100kbps Communication Photocouplers from Toshiba Lower Costs, Power Consumption
IRVINE, Calif., June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced the launch of two new communication photocouplers - theTLP2301 (20kps) and TLP2303 (100kps). Supporting RS-232 communication speed of 9.6kbps or 19.2kbps to RS-232C communication speed of 115.2kbps transmission rates for isolated communication interfaces in factory automation devices, air-conditioners, smart meters and more, these new optimal speed photocouplers bring excellent cost/performance ratios and can be driven at a low input current of 1 mA.
Isolated communication interfaces for factory automation devices (such as PLC and inverters), home appliances and housing equipment (such as air conditioners and smart meters) use a wide range of transmission rates to communicate. Until now, photocouplers with optimal speed transmission rates were not available. This forced users to choose either general-purpose transistor couplers, which provide insufficient performance, or 1 Mbps-class IC couplers, which provide the performance needed, but at a very high cost.
Toshiba developed the TLP2301 and TLP2303 to fill this gap in the market. The new photocouplers achieve a high current transfer ratio (I(C)/I(F)) and switching under low input current conditions - leading to reductions in power consumption and costs in the wide range of products that use photocouplers.
The TLP2301, which supports a ~20kbps transmission rate, guarantees a maximum delay time of 30 microns. Additionally, it can operate at a low input current of 1 mA by adopting a high-output infrared luminescence LED developed by Toshiba. Due to its low input current, the TLP2301 can also be directly driven by a microcontroller (no driver buffer is needed).
In addition to using the same high-output infrared luminescence LED as the TLP2301, the TLP2303, which supports a ~100kbps transmission rate, has a light-receiving chip with a high-speed photo Darlington transistor configuration. This enables the TLP2303 to achieve a high current transfer ratio (I(C)/I(F)) of up to 800 percent at an input current of 1.6 mA.
Features include:
TLP2301
-- Operating temperature range: Topr = -55 degrees C to 125 degrees C
-- Current transfer ratio: CTR = 50 percent (min.) (at IF = 1 mA, VCE = 5V)
-- Propagation delay time: tpHL / tpLH = 30 microns (max.) (at IF = 1 mA,
VCC = 5V, RL = 10k omega, Ta = 25 degrees C)
TLP2303
-- Operating temperature range: Topr = -40 degrees C to 125 degrees C
-- Current transfer ratio: CTR = 800 percent (min.) (at IF = 1.6 mA, VCC =
4.5V)
-- Propagation delay time:
-- tpHL = 5 microns (max.)
-- tpLH = 25 microns (max.) [condition: IF = 1.6 mA, VCC = 5V, RL = 2.2
k omega, Ta = 25 degrees C]
-- tpHL = 1 microns (max.)
-- tpLH = 7 microns (max.) [condition: IF = 12 mA, VCC = 5V, RL = 270
omega, Ta = 25 degrees C]
-- Common-mode transient immunity: |CMH| and |CML| > 15 kV/microns
Pricing and Availability
Toshiba's new photocouplers are available now. Budgetary pricing begins at $0.24 for TLP2301 and $0.38 for TLP2303, with volume discounts available.

Kodak Introduces New Solutions for Professional Lab Customers at Annual Professional Lab Workshop
Showcases KODAK PROFESSIONAL Digital Print Production Software Version 16; Previews Innovative New Front-End Ordering Software
ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kodak continues to leverage market insights and technical innovation to deliver valuable solutions to its professional lab customers that advance the impact of professional imaging. At the core of this innovation is KODAK PROFESSIONAL Digital Print Production Software (DP2) Version 16, the latest installment of Kodak's market leading workflow software for professional photographic labs. DP2 v.16 delivers enhancements to image quality and improved productivity and expands capabilities for the creation and production of innovative products.
In addition to DP2 v. 16, Kodak will provide a sneak preview of KODAK PROFESSIONAL Collections and Creations Software. This new software, a flexible front-end ordering system with a simple user interface, can change how labs and photographers prepare, present and produce valuable professional content. These collections, including both soft and hard copy, follow a logical flow that allows photographers to guide their clients through a storytelling process, from start to finish and then roll seamlessly into production and delivery through a pro lab. With Collections and Creations Software, professional labs and photographers can show consumers what's possible, in real-time, using their professional content and deliver an experience that creates an emotional connection among the consumers, their images and their story.
This in turn, enables the consumers to:
-- Promote their memories by sharing with family and friends anytime,
anywhere
-- Produce their memories in story form
-- Preserve their memories for a lifetime
"Our new software offerings focus on meeting the consumer demand for storytelling," said Christopher S. Van Zandt, Vice President and General Manager, Paper & Output Systems, Americas Region, Kodak Personalized Imaging. "The combination of Collections and Creations software with DP2 v.16 creates a powerful solution for professional labs, not only in what they can create, but how they present their valuable content. The software will help labs and photographers to shift their sales process from individual products to complete story-telling solutions and packages, and in turn, create more revenue opportunities. This also continues our commitment to deliver more than just products to our valued customers - we strive to deliver solutions that reflect market opportunities and help professional labs create viable long term strategies to grow their businesses. DP2 v.16 is the next step in that journey."
NEW DP2 FEATURES
With DP2 v.16, professional labs can cost-effectively expand their portfolio to include high quality photographic prints and albums, press products (books, calendars, cards and keepsakes), and digital offerings (enhanced stills and video slideshows) to professional photographers.
As part of that, DP2 v. 16 includes enhanced Animoto Video Slideshow features, which now make it possible for those labs that work directly with consumers (school photography, sporting event, nurseries, etc.) to offer this visually impactful soft-copy product. By introducing new configuration/licensing and flexible pricing, Kodak supports labs in pursuing additional business and market opportunities.
Another key improvement to the Animoto Video Slideshow features is the Animoto "Preview Sharing" capability. Thisallows photographers to offer consumers a preview video (low res and for a limited time) to create excitement on part of the consumer about what's possible, and encourages greater purchase rates of printed products as well as video slideshows.
In addition, DP2 v.16 includes a host of other enhancements that provide improved quality and productivity for pro labs.
Kodak is showcasing KODAK PROFESSIONAL DP2 v.16 and KODAK PROFESSIONAL Collections and Creations software at its 2013 KODAK Pro Lab Workshop, where Kodak conducts a combination of business and technical educational sessions. These sessions strive to better position professional labs to understand market dynamics, provide technical solutions and resources to address them, and to create individual strategies to succeed in these evolving markets.
Beginning the week of June 24, the new version of DP2 will be available at http://www.kodak.com/go/dp2 for download. KODAK PROFESSIONAL Collections and Creations Software will be available in early 2014 and leverages foundational elements being delivered in DP2 v.16. Executive Perspectives
Chris Strabley, IT Manager, Republic Steel
"Working with Enterasys has allowed our IT staff to refocus activities that are driving greater value for our business. In Enterasys, we've found an IT partner that has gone above and beyond to find solutions to our problems. With the 7100-Series and S-Series, we have a robust data center solution which helps us manage a very complex IT infrastructure, ensuring our manufacturing specific applications are predictably delivered in a virtualized environment. We truly feel that they are as committed and dedicated to improving our business as we are."
Melissa Burg, Management Information Systems Director, Watson Clinic
"Being a small network team and needing to support 22 locations, we needed a system that had the greatest functionality yet was easy to use. Enterasys fit into that category perfectly. Our transition from Cisco to an all Enterasys network from the data center to the access edge was an easy process for us. As for managing the network, if you can click a mouse, you can manage the entire system with Enterasys."
Frank Kiess, Network Manager, Charite
"Charite has strategically decided to go with Enterasys for the campus LAN. The longevity and reusability of switch modules as well as the stability of the solution were key decision factors when considering important criteria for the core of the data center network infrastructure."
John Thome, Jr., VP of Sales, Chi Corporation
"We've been an Enterasys Partner for a number of years, and we are excited about the introduction of the new OneFabric Data Center architecture. As customers look to refresh their data centers, capacity, performance, and automation are key concerns. Enterasys OneFabric Data Center provides a vehicle to help our customers deploy innovative technology as they refresh their data centers for the future, with the simplicity to keep operational costs in check. Cutting through the clutter of over-sized, complex, yet incomplete solutions from other vendors, OneFabric provides the most intelligent network to optimize performance, visibility, and control across the entire data center infrastructure."
Chris Crowell, President and CEO, Enterasys Networks
"The tremendous growth of mobility and sheer amount of information in the enterprise, as well as the introduction of social and cloud technologies has forced businesses to think about the data center differently. Through the enhancements announced today, we've drastically reduced the complexity associated with the data center. What's more, from server connectivity to fabric core, our approach to building data center fabrics allows control of traffic flows much more effectively than competitive solutions. Enterasys believes in delivering the highest quality and most consistent user experience to our customers and this next generation of OneFabric Data Center is a testament of that."
Bob Laliberte, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group
"ESG research indicates that organizations are continuing to consolidate data centers and build out multi-tenant environments. This consolidation and resulting complexity is leading to 'data center networking discontinuity' where network teams struggle with major operational challenges like too many manual processes, box-by-box provisioning, delays in change management, and complex troubleshooting. The Enterasys OneFabric Data Center solution addresses these problems by simplifying the network management and providing IT with an intelligent solution that helps to optimize data center performance and lead to fewer headaches for IT."
Ivan Pepelnjak, Data Center Expert, ipSpace.net
"The Enterasys OneFabric architecture provides customers with flexibility to connect multiple data centers in active/active scenario with standard-based technologies without inventing new and complex protocols that lock-in customers. It's an elegant solution to a complex problem."

VeriSilicon Introduces Hantro G2 Video Decoder IP with HEVC and VP9 Support
World's first semiconductor IP to support both HEVC and VP9 video formats
SHANGHAI, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- VeriSilicon Holdings Co., Ltd. (VeriSilicon), a leading custom silicon solutions and semiconductor IP provider, announced today the availability of Hantro G2 multi-format video decoder IP to support ultra HD 4K video decoding for HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding, aka H.265) video coding standard. The G2 IP also adds support for the upcoming VP9 web video format from the WebM Project. In addition, all legacy video formats such as H.264, VP8, MPEG-4, VC-1, AVS (soon also AVS+), MPEG-2, DivX, Sorenson Spark and VP6 are supported in Hantro G2 IP.
Hantro G2 is a scalable IP solution providing an optimized silicon area depending on licensee's target market and performance requirements varying from leading edge 4K@60 fps for e.g. Ultra-HD TV, to industry standard 1080p HD, or to lower tier SD resolution for features phones, etc. Hantro G2 is the industry's first IP to support 4K@60 fps with a single-core architecture using less than 1 million logic gates. Hantro G2 represents the 13(th) generation of Hantro Video IP, the market leading video semiconductor IP deployed in more than one billion chips and used by more than 75 semiconductor companies worldwide.
VP9 is the next generation, open video codec developed under the WebM Project initiated by Google. VP9 is expected to require up to 50% less bandwidth to achieve the same visual quality as the very best H.264 high profile, providing significant bandwidth savings for web video services. VP9 provides a low-latency, high-quality video coding ideal for WebRTC applications, i.e. real-time video conferencing within the browser. VeriSilicon was the first IP provider in the industry to support VP8 decoding and encoding. Now, VeriSilicon is again the first company to provide VP9 decoder support in the Hantro IP.
"HD video is everywhere in our daily life, not only for entertainment through consumer electronics but also for surveillance and security through infrastructures. We can leverage the excellent performance of Hantro G2 Multi-format Video Decoder IP with HEVC and VP9 support to meet the challenges of network bandwidth, storage cost and power consumption," says Dr. Wayne Dai, President and CEO of VeriSilicon. "We believe that HEVC and VP9 will become ubiquitous video formats, gradually replacing H.264 in many services."
"We expect VP9 will be the format of choice for popular web platforms and services," said Jani Huoponen, hardware product manager for the WebM Project. "VeriSilicon's Hantro G2 Decoder IP with VP9 enables chip companies to rapidly bring ultra low-power, efficient silicon-area mobile application processors and STB/DTV chips to market and help enable efficient VP9 playback support in popular platforms and services, such as Chrome and YouTube."
VeriSilicon is working on Hantro H2 Multi-format encoder with support for HEVC and VP9 to be released later this year. For more information, please email VSI_Video_Sales@verisilicon.com.

Blancco LUN Helps Data Centers Meet Challenges of Compliance and Efficient Data Erasure
JOENSUU, Finland, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Blancco LUN solution brings best practices to erasure of data from physical
servers and virtual machines in cloud environments
As more data moves to virtual machines in today's cloud computing environment, data
centers need secure, efficient tools for erasing virtual drives or entire LUNs, in
addition to requirements for erasing physical hard drives. To meet these needs and comply
with data privacy standards and regulations, Blancco [http://www.blancco.com ], the global
leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, offers Blancco LUN
[http://www.blancco.com/en/products/selective-data-erasure/lun ] - centralized data
overwriting software that can simultaneously erase physical drives, or logic drives in
live environments running a variety of operating systems.
To view the Multimedia News Release, please click:
"It is critical that data centers are able to target erasure for a specific logical
unit number (LUN) connected to a virtual machine, for example, without interrupting
operations by requiring the entire storage array to go offline," said Kim Vaisanen, CEO
and Co-Founder of Blancco. "Such erasure must occur after disaster recovery testing, when
data is no longer needed, after data migration and for cloud hosting exit strategies.
Blancco LUN centralizes this targeted erasure for maximum operational efficiency, as well
as for growing compliance requirements."
Blancco LUN ensures that data centers comply with internal security policies and best
practices, as well as strict industry standards and regulations like the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the US and the Payment Card Industry Data
Security Standard (PCI DSS). When coupled with the Blancco Management Console, it
centralizes the erasure process for multiple physical or virtual drives and provides a
gapless audit trail complete with LUN or physical drive details within an XML report.
Blancco LUN is also ideal for erasing the drives of a Storage Area Network (SAN) while
leaving the operating system intact. Secure erasure allows data centers to reuse these
high-end, complex storage arrays, return them to a leasing company, or sell them for
potentially considerable revenue.
Blancco LUN is part of Blancco's comprehensive suite of solutions for data erasure
across all levels of a computing environment-file, LUN, disk, server and storage. A brief
video [http://www.blancco.com/en/videos/?video=videos/solutions/erase-virtual-volumes ]
offers more details on the importance of Blancco LUN in today's cloud computing
environment.

Eliminate complicated wireless set up with TI's new low-cost, easy-to-use NFC solutions in the Internet of Things
New Dynamic NFC Transponder hardware simplifies Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi pairing and NFCLink software streamlines wireless development across TI's embedded processing portfolio
DALLAS, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) continues to deliver new near field communications (NFC) innovations in its broad portfolio of solutions that make entry to NFC development easier and lower cost. Today, TI introduces the Dynamic NFC Transponder RF430CL330H hardware to enable uncomplicated and inexpensive wireless set up. Also announced today, the NFCLink software is a standard NFC library for the TRF79xx NFC transceiver family to ease NFC development on TI embedded processors.
The new Dynamic NFC Transponder Interface RF430CL330H is low cost, bringing a secure, simplified pairing process for Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi connections to products, such as printers, speakers, headsets, and remote controls, as well as wireless keyboards, mice, switches and sensors. It is the only dynamic NFC tag device designed specifically for NFC connection handover and service interface functions, including host diagnostics and software upgrades.
Streamlining NFC development across TI's entire embedded processing portfolio, the NFCLink software firmware library, in partnership with Stollman E+V GmbH and Kronegger GmbH, enables developers to quickly and easily create NFC applications for TRF79xx NFC transceivers using TI's ultra-low-power MSP430(TM) microcontrollers (MCUs), Tiva(TM) C Series ARM® MCUs and OMAP(TM) processors. Additional TI embedded processor platforms will be supported in the future. NFC applications running on operating systems include point-of-service devices, routers, set-top boxes, automotive infotainment and other various consumer devices.
"As demand for NFC devices continues to proliferate, we are excited to work with TI to offer NFCLink to ease this development for designers," said Christian Andresen, head of the NFC business unit, Stollman E+V GmbH. "This unique and market-leading software library is a crucial offering in easing NFC adoption."
Features and benefits of the Dynamic NFC Transponder RF430CL330H:
-- Combines a wireless NFC interface and wired SPI/I2C interface to connect
the device to a host (classified as an NFC tag type 4 device). The data
content is then shifted dynamically from the host into the RF430CL330H's
SRAM and can then be transferred over the NFC interface.
-- Integrates SPI/I2C serial communication interface, allowing reading and
writing of NFC data exchange format (NDEF) messages stored in integrated
SRAM.
-- Supports data rates up to 848 KBs per second for RF data transfer
(over-the-air firmware updates).

access of NDEF messages.
-- Provides industry's lowest standby power current, enabling
battery-powered devices with longer battery life.
-- Offers host wakeup capability when in the NFC RF field, which combined
with the fact that the NFC interface is passive, maximizes battery life.
Features and benefits of the NFCLink firmware library:
-- Eases NFC development on TRF79xx transceivers with TI's MSP430 MCUs,
Tiva C Series ARM MCUs and OMAP processors.
-- Provides customers with modular firmware library stacks for a flexible
solution they can utilize to easily tailor their products to support the
complete NFC Forum operation or only necessary parts (e.g., protocol,
operating modes), resulting in highly optimized solutions.
-- Supports various operating systems, including Win8, Win7, Linux and
Android.
-- Provides proven software stack through partnership with Stollman E+V
GmbH.
-- Offers unmatched local customer support with TI's regional field
application engineer (FAE) presence for the NFC and embedded processor
portfolio.

dresden elektronik and Plastic Logic Unveil New Integrated Plastic Display System
DRESDEN, Germany and CAMBRIDGE, England, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The latest dresden elektronik development in electronic display systems technology,
deZign, is the result of a close cooperation with Plastic Logic, with the potential to
transform the way public transport companies operate. It will be demonstrated at the
Digital Signage Expo 2013 (Plastic Logic booth K17) from 12 to 13 June in Berlin, Germany.
dresden elektronik, the traffic management system specialist, is developing a digital
timetable, based on Plastic Logic's unique plastic displays
[http://www.plasticlogic.com/technology ], with the potential to improve the operating
efficiencies of every public transport company, slashing maintenance costs.
deZign enables the user to change the content of a timetable at the push of a button,
instead of having to manually replace paper timetables at stations and stops. The Plastic
Logic display is robust, daylight-readable and has extremely low energy consumption: no
power is required to display fixed content, only updates require minimal energy.
Furthermore, transport companies' printing and service costs are also drastically reduced.
An initial technology study will be released in mid-June; the first field trials are
planned for mid-July. A key goal is to develop a version for rural areas that is
self-sufficient in terms of energy so that no external cable connection is required.
"We are delighted to have won Plastic Logic as an experienced partner in display
technology during this important development phase," says Lutz Pietschmann, Managing
Director of dresden elektronik verkehrstechnik gmbh. "Thanks to the intensive
collaboration and our common knowledge base, we will be able to fulfill the high
requirements of energy-efficient information systems and offer marketable products in the
near future."

Hantro G2 represents the 13th generation of Hantro Video IP, the market leading video semiconductor IP deployed in more than one billion chips and used by more than 75 semiconductor companies worldwide.
For more information, please email VSI_Video_Sales@verisilicon.com( mailto:VSI_Video_Sales@verisilicon.com ).

Electrone Americas Explains The Virtues of a USB Keypad with Display
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Electrone Americas states that user-friendly and cost-efficient keypads suit a wide variety of applications. They are a match made in heaven for health clubs, gyms, and yoga and martial arts studios. For martial arts studios in particular, which tend to attract a younger clientele, a keypad with display offers an easy--and forgiving--solution to monitoring attendance.
Here is a telling example of how a keypad with display can fulfill a need like nothing else. David Dye, the operator of Shuyokan Ryu Martial Arts Center in Costa Mesa, California, needed a way his students, who start at age seven, could enter their ID number directly into the Martial Arts Organizer software program. His software provider, martialartsorganizer.com, offered some hardware on their site, but no key pads. Martial arts organizer offered a bar code scanner, which was more expensive and complex, requiring students to remember their cards and scan them properly. There was also the option of an off-the-shelf keypad, which Dye tried, but the problem with that was if a number was entered wrong, there was no way of fixing the mistake. Another child's number, or a nonexistent number, would be counted on the attendance record.
Dye was clear about what he needed for optimal efficiency: a numeric keypad with a display so the student can see the numbers as entered, with a backspace key to correct errors. Once the number was inputted accurately, Dye wanted an Enter or Green button to enter the number into the software program. "Above all, I needed it to be kept simple," says Dye, "so that a seven-year-old could use it without problems. Electrone Americas was the only company I found that could do what I wanted my hardware to do. They were very helpful, and as soon as I plugged their keypad in, it worked, and alleviated the need for having a second computer." Electrone America's USB HID keypad saved the day--and the dojo--with a cost-effective, intuitive to use, and self-contained solution to an automatic attendance system.
The 735 Numeric Keypad with display suits numerous market requirements for different needs. Electrone Americas Ltd., Co. has created a keypad that will offer high quality solutions across all industries. Take advantage of the 735 USB and TCP/IPNumeric Keypads for your business's needs today.
Electronic Cigarette Users Called to Save e-Cigs and Lives Along With Them
EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Electronic cigarette users given the chance to form a united voice on the EU
Tobacco Products Directive through SKYCIGs 'write to your MEP' campaign
Launching today, SKYCIG, a leading UK electronic cigarette provider and member of
ECITA (Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association), unveils a dedicated 'write to
your MEP' webpage, giving SKYCIG's 250,000 nationwide electronic cigarette users an
opportunity to make a united stand on the proposed changes to the European Union Tobacco
Products Directive (TPD).
The MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) recently announced its
intention to have electronic cigarettes classified as medicinal products and to require a
licence by 2016, similar to proposals put forward by Parliament in Brussels. These strict
regulations will make electronic cigarettes more difficult for users to access than their
undisputedly more harmful counterparts, traditional cigarettes; however the majority of
the industry believes that, in the long term, revisions to the EU TPD take precedence over
the MHRA announcement.
Douglas Mutter, Operations Manager, SKYCIG: "As an ECITA member, SKYCIG firmly oppose
the views of MHRA and feel that this is an unjustifiable restriction on a product which
has the potential to save lives as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. This campaign
will hopefully bring some common sense to the debate and encourage better enforcement of
current regulations without the need for unnecessary medical classification."
By simply accessing SKYCIG's dedicated 'write to your MEP' webpage, which can be found
at http://www.skycig.co.uk/ecita, and writing a short letter expressing their concern
about the new directive, users will be able to submit their opinion on the issue to their
local Member of the European Parliament.
SKYCIG will collate every letter submitted and send them directly to the local MEP of
each consumer, thereby giving the UK's electronic cigarette users a single, strong voice
over the issue of regulation, without needing to take time out to fit in with MEP surgery
hours or to write and post a letter.
SKYCIG has been the most trusted electronic cigarette brand within the United Kingdom
for a number of years and has established a large market share in the growing industry,
voted 'Best Electronic Cigarette in the UK' in 2011 by Smoking.com. Electronic cigarettes
are regarded as the nation's top smoking alternative and the largest UK based brand,
SKYCIG, have reported to have quadrupled their sales in the first quarter of 2012. The
benefits regarding health are already pushing product sales for electronic cigarettes,
especially SKYCIG, with the product not containing all the harmful chemicals that regular
tobacco cigarettes do, nor do they produce second-hand smoke. As well as SKYCIG providing
a healthier alternative, they also provide a variety of different flavours to accommodate
everyone's taste buds, from Crown Vanilla, Crown Cherry, Crown Menthol, Cinnamon, Tobacco
Gold, Crown Tobacco and Classic Tobacco.

Pelican Imaging Showcases Mobile Array Camera With 3D Video Capture
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pelican Imaging today released a video to showcase the groundbreaking capabilities of the Pelican mobile array camera, including all-in-focus image capture, linear measurement, and 3D video capture.
Pelican's advances in computational imaging are enabling a new frontier for consumers: to capture still images and video footage with depth information of the scene, which in turn enables users to perform a range of post-capture edits such as refocusing, selecting multiple objects of focus, measuring distance between any two points, or creating a depth map/3D model of any scene. Because images and videos are captured all in focus, you can't miss your photo. Pelican's camera is about 50% of the thickness of the best-in-class camera modules shipping in mobile phones today.
"In our video pieces, we are illustrating creative examples of our vision for depth-enabled features," said Pelican Imaging CEO and President Christopher Pickett. "The applications for this technology are endless. We're looking forward to working with our customers, strategic partners, and third party application developers to bring Pelican's mobile array camera to market in late 2014."
About Pelican Imaging
