New Jenn-Air® Ventilation System: From Bold To Invisible In Seconds
BENTON HARBOR, Mich., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury appliance maker Jenn-Air has introduced a dramatically different cooking ventilation system that serves as an impressive design focal point when in use and virtually disappears when not powerfully and quietly clearing the air. Individually hand-crafted of stainless steel and glass, the telescoping Jenn-Air® Accolade(TM) ventilation system is arc-shaped, with a curved, sculptural profile designed to place ventilation power even closer to the cooking source than traditional systems.
This newest offering is the latest in a long series of Jenn-Air® ventilation innovations spanning five decades. They include the first downdraft cooktop; a black glass and stainless steel "perimetric" system that hangs on the wall like a flat screen TV; and the first duct-free downdraft ventilation that filters and recirculates air, requiring no ducting to the outside.
"Because it's both beautiful and fully retractable, the Accolade(TM) system offers the best of both worlds in luxury kitchen design," notes Juliet Johnson, manager of brand experience for Jenn-Air. "When it's doing its job it makes a powerful design statement, but when it's not needed it disappears, opening up kitchen sight lines and keeping things sleek and uncluttered."
"Seeing it rise or disappear at the touch of a button invariably results in 'oohs' and 'ahs' from those who experience it," she adds. "But given its striking appearance, it will likely stay in the raised position in many kitchens."
The 36" Accolade(TM) system is equipped with a high performance, pressure stabilizing in-line blower system that removes cooking smoke at a rate of up to 1,200 cubic feet per minute (CFM). The inline blower system minimizes operating sounds to keep things quiet in the kitchen. High flow speed at the edge of the hood helps to prevent smoke from escaping into the kitchen, even at low motor levels.
The Accolade(TM) ventilation system can be engaged either by pressing a button on the system itself or using the provided remote control. Its sleek, slim-profile design is enhanced with ambient lighting, concealed controls and discreet LED lighting that indicates fan speed and provides an alert when filters require cleaning.
The system also provides a host of practical features, including dishwasher-safe mesh filters, a magnetic filter attachment, four fan speeds, three duct positions, auto shutoff when retracted, and a timer for automatically turning off the blower.
The Accolade(TM) system is now available at select Jenn-Air retailers nationwide.
About Jenn-Air:
Since the introduction of the first self-ventilated cooktop in 1961 and downdraft ventilated range in 1965, Jenn-Air brand has consistently grown its reputation as a technology and design innovator. Its selection of style options includes two distinct stainless steel collections and a cutting-edge Floating Glass finish in black or white. All Nippon Airways Lets Travelers "Do" Japan with Interactive Website
TOKYO, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan's leading airline, has launched "Let's Do Japan" http://www.letsdojapan.com, a site that lets visitors create their own Japanese manga personality and learn helpful tips about Japanese culture and trends.
In this first-ever campaign by ANA targeting U.S. consumers, visitors to the site create their own characters through Manganizer, which uses the popular Japanese manga style of comics and features five distinct Japanophile travelers that embody the characteristics of ANA and Japan. Visitors choose to be either Executive, Fashionista, Gourmand, Designer or Aficionado to create their original manga hero and manga stories with their own pictures.
Manganizer uses face recognition technology to render manga images of the user, based on information shared with the app through Facebook Connect or by uploading their image. The rendered manga can then be tweaked using the editor, and downloaded or shared via Facebook and Twitter. By using the Facebook Connect function, users can also generate entire manga stories that incorporate themselves as well as their Facebook friends into the plot.
Another feature of the site is360° Japan, where visitors explore three scenes: a restaurant, design architecture lounge and Akiba café. Embedded within the scenes are interactive connections, allowing users to click onto images to learn more about Japanese cultures, traditions and trends. Visitors can learn more about sensu hand-held fans or what omelet rice drawing involves.
"Visitors to our innovative site can immerse themselves in their own story through Manganizer or discover helpful tips and interesting facts about Japan and Japanese culture through 360° Japan," explains ANA spokesperson, Nao Gunji. "We believe our site offers its visitors a fun, high-tech glimpse into what to expect when they visit Japan for the first time or the tenth. And, who wouldn't want to be the hero of their own manga-style story?"

ORLANDO, Fla., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Twilio (http://www.twilio.com), the cloud communications leader, announced today the general availability of SIP from Twilio. For consumers and families, up to 10 devices per plan. Additional monthly charge per device. Unlimited talk and text for phones only. If you are using a shared data plan without a Smartphone(s) on the account or you do not have all required elements of the plan, AT&T reserves the right to place the non-complying device(s) on an appropriate plan(s). If you exceed the amount of data in your plan during your billing period, an additional 1GB is automatically provided as specified in your rate plan. Overage charges are billed to the primary line. All data allowances, including overages, must be used in the billing period in which the allowance is provided or they will be forfeited. Authorized users on the account may temporarily suspend data access for each device using the Mobile Share Plan. Data access will be restored at the beginning of the next billing cycle. Monthly charges, however, will continue to apply. Tethering and mobile hotspot use is permitted with up to five (5) simultaneous devices. Access to corporate email, intranet and apps available for $15/ mo. per device. Additional monthly charge per device not eligible for discounts. Domestic use only. Activation fee may apply. Additional deposits and other restrictions may apply. See rate plan brochure for complete details.
Mobile Share - Data: Smartphones, basic and quick messaging phones are prohibited. Up to ten (10), fifteen (15), twenty (20) or twenty-five (25) devices depending on the plan. For consumers and families, up to 10 devices per plan. Additional monthly charge per device. Tethering and mobile hotspot use are permitted with up to five (5) simultaneous devices. If you are using a Mobile Share - Data Plan with a smartphone, with a device that is not a Designated Data Device, for tethering or as a mobile hotspot with more than five (5) simultaneous users, or otherwise use the plan in any way that is inconsistent with its terms, AT&T reserves the right to suspend or terminate service to your account, place any non-complying device on an appropriate Mobile Share Plan, and/or add any other required element of the plan. If you exceed the amount of data in your plan during your billing period, an additional 1GB is automatically provided as specified in your rate plan. Overage charges are billed to the primary line. All data allowances, including overages, must be used in the billing period in which the allowance is provided or they will be forfeited. Authorized users on the account may temporarily suspend data access for each device using the Mobile Share - Data Plan. Data access will be restored at the beginning of the next billing cycle. Monthly charges, however, will continue to apply. Designated Data Devices that are capable of accessing corporate email, intranet sites and/or other business applications may do so for no additional monthly access charge. Additional monthly charge per device not eligible for discounts. Domestic use only. Activation fee may apply. Additional deposits and other restrictions may apply. See rate plan brochure for complete details.
Business Pooled Nation for Data: Available only to customers with a qualified AT&T business agreement for wireless services ("Business Agreement") and their respective Corporate Responsibility Users ("CRUs"). Within a single Billing Account Number ("BAN"), CRUs activated on separate Business Pooled Nation for Data Plans are combined to create a "Data Pool." Every billing cycle, each CRU first uses his or her plan's included domestic data usage ("Included Usage"). If a CRU does not use all his or her Included Usage, it creates an underage in the amount of the unused KB of data usage ("Under Usage"). If a CRU uses more than his or her Included Usage, it creates an overage in the amount of the excess KB of data usage ("Over Usage"). The Data Pool's Under Usage amounts for each CRU and Over Usage amounts for each CRU are then aggregated respectively and the totals are compared. If the aggregate Under Usage amount exceeds the aggregate Over Usage amount, then the difference is allocated among each CRU in the Data Pool with Over Usage, resulting in a credit on the invoice equal to the amount of each such CRU's additional data usage charges. Any excess Under Usage will be forfeited. If the aggregate Over Usage amount exceeds the aggregate Under Usage amount, then the ratio of Under Usage to Over Usage is applied equally to the data usage of each CRU in the Data Pool with Over Usage, resulting in a credit on the invoice against each such CRU's corresponding additional data usage charges to partially offset such charges. For example, if a Data Pool has 900 Under Usage KB and 1000 Over Usage KB (which means a ratio of 90%), then each CRU with Over Usage will receive a bill credit equal to 90% of his or her additional data usage charges. CRUs changing price points or migrating Business Pooled Nation for Data plans during a bill cycle may result in one-time prorations or other minor impacts to the credit calculation. Customer may have more than one Data Pool within a Foundation Account Number; however, CRUs in one Data Pool cannot take advantage of another Data Pool's Under Usage, and each CRU can only participate in one Data Pool at a time. AT&T reserves the right to limit the number of CRUs in a Data Pool due to business needs and system limitations. CRUs on non-pooling AT&T plans may be included in the same BAN as CRUs on Business Pooled Nation for Data Plans; however, these non-pooling CRUs will not receive the pooling benefits or contribute Included Usage to other CRUs in a Data Pool. Additional monthly charge per device not eligible for discounts. Domestic use only. Activation fee may apply. Additional deposits and other restrictions may apply. See rate plan brochure for complete details.

GERMANTOWN, Md., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite solutions and services, today announced that its next generation satellite broadband Internet plans have been added to its U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 70 #GS-35F-0907P. Hughes Internet Access Solutions are powered by the recently launched EchoStar XVII(®) satellite with JUPITER(TM) high-throughput technology--a next generation, Ka-band satellite employing a multi-spot beam, bent-pipe architecture-- delivering the industry's fastest satellite Internet speeds.
The plans offer download speeds of 10 Mbps or 15 Mbps and a choice of generous data allowances tailored to the needs of the government. All three tiers come with Hughes enterprise-grade equipment and are backed by Hughes service and support.

Element Six and the University of Warwick Announce Development of New Boron-Doped Synthetic Diamond Electrode for Extreme Electroanalysis Sensing Applications
Material Available to Commercial Partners for Enhanced Sensing Applications
PHILADELPHIA, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AT PITTCON 2013,Element Six, the world leader in synthetic diamond supermaterials and member of the De Beers Group of Companies, today announced that it has engineered DIAFILM EA (Electroanalysis grade) in collaboration with The University of Warwick. The free-standing, solid boron doped microwave chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond electrode is expected to transform sensing technologies, allowing the development of next generation advanced electroanalysis sensing systems to benefit the biomedical, environmental, food, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries.
DIAFILM EA benefits from being chemically inert and stable, overcoming long-term stability issues in the harshest of environments such as in corrosive and elevated temperature and pressure operations. In many of the most demanding of electroanalysis applications, DIAFILM EA has the ability to perform thousands of cycles, whereas other electrode materials only survive a single use. This is combined with high phase purity and optimum levels of conductivity, enabling the highest level of sensitivity, selectivity and responsiveness.
With the introduction of the new DIAFILM EA, Element Six is now actively collaborating with commercial partners to enhance electrochemical sensing applications leveraging the proven performance of this next generation sensing material. With the widest solvent window of any electrode material, and the lowest background current and capacitance, DIAFILM EA is expected to transform the business economics of electroanalytical sensing systems and technologies.
"For the past decade or so, thin-film boron doped diamond electrodes have not delivered on their technical promise, as the industry has struggled to combine the necessary level of conductivity with the required phase purity," said Adrian Wilson, head of technologies at Element Six. "We have manufactured a grade of boron doped CVD diamond with the ideal optimal conductivity, combined with 100 percent phase purity to meet this market need. Given its unique properties, DIAFILM EA will advance tomorrow's sensing systems."
"The research and development of synthetic diamond as an electrode material has exposed its potential to transform the future of sensing technologies," said Julie MacPherson, professor, the University of Warwick. "Element Six's CVD diamond is an exciting material to work with, and one we've enjoyed working with throughout our six-year research collaboration with the company."
The synthetic diamond technical work was completed by the Element Six R&D team based at Ascot in the United Kingdom, and is a result of more than 15 years of research and development. Electrochemical characterization testing of DIAFILM EA was carried out by the Electrochemistry and Interfaces Group in the Department of Chemistry, at the University of Warwick.

ThreatTrack Security Established to Help Enterprises Combat Advanced Persistent Threats
The company is comprised of experienced malware fighters and proven technologies for the analysis, detection and remediation of advanced cyber-threats
CLEARWATER, Fla., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --ThreatTrack Security Inc. - formerly the Security Business Unit of GFI Software - today launched operations as an independent company dedicated to the analysis, detection and remediation of advanced malware threats. ThreatTrack Security enables organizations to identify and prevent Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), targeted attacks and sophisticated malware designed to evade the traditional cyber-defenses deployed by enterprises, government agencies, and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) around the world.
"It's time for a new approach to malware defense," said Julian Waits, CEO of ThreatTrack Security. "APTs and other complex malware attacks have enterprises - especially those in globally competitive industries like finance, aerospace, healthcare, technology, and oil and gas exploration - struggling to ensure the integrity of their networks and intellectual property. Moreover, many enterprises lack the necessary tools to know with certainty if they are a victim of an APT or other advanced malware strike. ThreatTrack Security was established to help enterprises bolster their cybersecurity readiness right now."
Experience That Counts
ThreatTrack Security is different from the string of recent start-ups proposing untried security solutions and strategies to combat advanced cyber-threats. "In the coming months, ThreatTrack Security will unveil a new product roadmap that will augment our existing security solutions and enable us to deliver on our promise of a stronger, more secure enterprise cyber-defense," added Waits.

The service helps ensure that an enterprise's perimeter security defenses - such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, web filters and anti-spam products - identify and stop threats as they emerge. Customers receive continuous streams of malicious URLs and IP address, suspected files, phishing links and other malware data as it's discovered by ThreatTrack Security Labs.
In addition to a wide array of end-user customers - including large enterprises, government agencies, educational institutions, SMBs and consumers - dozens of OEMs and ISVs partner with ThreatTrack Security to harden their products with integrated malware defenses.

Latino Coalition and Biz2Credit Launch World's Largest Hispanic Online Platform Providing Access to Small Business Financing
NEW YORK, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Biz2Credit, the #1 online credit resource for small businesses, and The Latino Coalition (http://www.thelatinocoalition.com) today announced a partnership in which Biz2Credit will be the go-to financing resource for the Coalition's small business members.
During the past decade, Latino-owned businesses have become the fastest growing sectors of the economy. Meanwhile, in the past few years, it has been particularly difficult for minority-owned businesses to secure capital for startup businesses.
"Latinos are a rising power in the U.S. economy and they are starting businesses in record numbers. As the Baby Boomers approach retirement, they frequently are selling their companies to minority owners who infuse vibrancy into stagnant businesses," said Rohit Arora, co-founder and CEO of Biz2Credit. "There are many loan programs established specifically to help Latino entrepreneurs get up and running. Biz2Credit can connect Latinos with funding options that they might not know existed."
Since 2007, Biz2Credit has arranged funding for tens of thousands of small businesses, including hundreds of Latino-owned businesses in New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, and Florida, among other places. Biz2Credit is rapidly approaching the $1 billion mark in small business financing.
"Through our partnership, small business owners who are part of The Latino Coalition will be able to upload their documents on Biz2Credit's system, and receive one free month of loan consultation from one of our loan specialists who can help walk them through the process," added Arora, one of the country's leading experts in small business finance. "Our platform streamlines the credit decision-making process by fully automated its loan application process. This will save busy entrepreneurs time and frustration that they otherwise would encounter in seeking the money needed to start and grow their businesses."
"The Latino Coalition partnered with Biz2Credit because we believe that small business owners will benefit from the speed and ease of use of the online platform," said Hector Barreto, Chairman at The Latino Coalition. "Biz2Credit removes the intimidation factor and language barriers from the small business loan process by making it simpler and easier through the use of technology. By partnering with Biz2Credit, we hope to enable more of our members to pursue the American Dream of business ownership."
About The Latino Coalition
The Latino Coalition (TLC) was founded in 1995 by a group of Hispanic business owners from across the country to research and develop policies relevant to Latinos. Already with four cases under its belt, UpShot can administer an entire case without printing a single piece of paper, with the willingness of the Bankruptcy Court and counsel. It also is the first claims agent to utilize secure, electronic signatures on bankruptcy-related documents backed by a web of safety measures, granting immediate legal effect and eliminating potential time disputes.
The absence of recent technology upgrades within their industry led veteran claims and noticing professionals Travis Vandell and Robert Klamser to create a more efficient model of claims and noticing. They estimate that UpShot's technology driven processes can save as much as 10% in corporate bankruptcy administration costs for debtors and the estate. And, they offer something "free" to clients -- "freemium" creditor committee micro web sites to help maintain communication with unsecured creditors.
"While technology is at the core of our efficient platform, client service remains a hallmark for UpShot," Klamser adds. "The Chapter 11 community is very close-knit and we view the satisfaction of our clients as integral to our business, as well as to our core values."

Furukawa Electric Announces Sampling of Micro ITLA for 100 Gbps Optical Coherent Transmission
ANAHEIM, Calif., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- OFC/NFOEC 2013, Booth #2627 -- Furukawa Electric Company, Ltd. has developed a micro Integrable Tunable Laser Assembly (ITLA), a key component in ultrahigh-speed optical digital coherent transmission devices operating at 100 gigabits per second (Gbps). This transmission device is now being introduced globally with initial sampling of the micro ITLA. In addition to meeting the industries' demand for much lower power consumption and high optical output, Furukawa has also developed a new wave length tunable laser chip that enables an additional 20% reduction in power consumption. When used in combination with the micro ITLA, it further reduces power consumption by 40% against conventional products and nearly doubles the optical output when compared with micro ITLA. These benefits along with the acceptance of the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) to standardize the ITLA specification make the micro ITLAs an attractive choice for optical communication devices. The new wave length tunable laser chips are planned to be mounted on the micro ITLA devices beginning in early 2014.
Presently, global network traffic continues to grow at a phenomenal rate in both terrestrial and wireless networks. With smartphones now a ubiquitous tool for consumers and business users, acceptance of cloud computing, data center connectivity and mass video distribution, the telecommunications industry is presently accelerating the deployment of 100Gbps transmission systems for high capacity. The industry has converged on optical digital coherent technology in transmission systems, which involves the use of optical phases (wave conditions) resistant to signal deterioration and impervious to the effects of noise.
Furukawa has already commercialized high-output and narrow-line-width ITLAs that exhibit excellent properties for signal lights from the optical digital coherent system (Note 1) and for local oscillator (Note 2). Since the industry continues to demand higher capacity, the specifications for small and low power-consumption ITLAs have now been accepted and standardized by the OIF (Note 3).
The micro ITLA is a light source that has been made smaller, consuming less electricity while retaining the same specifications of conventional ITLAs that the industry is used to. These specifications include communications protocol and optical-electric properties.
Conventional and micro ITLA comparison
Using its innovative history and manufacturing prowess, Furukawa has developed technologies for assembling and fixing high-accuracy optical components for manufacturing micro ITLAs (half the size or less compared to conventional ITLAs, 45 x 20 mm). A small package module has been developed by harnessing these technologies. Furukawa's expertise in laser driver circuits and digital circuits has also been exercised to reduce the form factor.
The new wave length tunable laser chips from Furukawa can reduce power consumption by 20% from 5W to 4W. Currently available conventional lasers use GaInAsP crystals as active layers of the lasers. However, the optical output is reduced significantly at higher temperatures requiring cooling operation below room temperature. Furukawa's new wave length tunable laser chips use AlGaInAs crystals (Note 4) for the light-emitting layer. By using this material, Furukawa has achieved better control of the optical output at higher temperatures improving it to 16dBm or higher compared with 13.5dBm of conventional GaInAsP products. In addition, new wavelength tunable laser chips also increases the operating temperature by 15 degrees Celsius higher than conventional products, thus reducing the power consumption on the TEC (Note 5) and even lower when used on the micro ITLA (up to 40% compared to conventional products).
The new micro ITLA product will be exhibited at OFC/NFOEC 2013, scheduled to be held from March 19 in Anaheim, California, United States. A paper on the new wave length tunable laser chips will also be presented at the IEICE General Conference 2013, which will be held in Gifu, Japan from March 19.

---- ----------------------------- ------------------------------------
(Note 1) Optical digital coherent system: Involving the use of digital signal processing to detect optical phase information from transmitted data, the system is capable of transmitting a large volume of information within a narrow bandwidth.
(Note 2) Local oscillator: In the optical digital coherent system of transmission, this kind of light is locally used to facilitate interference with signal lights to obtain phase information from the transmitted data. This requires a narrow line width.
(Note 3) OIF: Optical Internetworking Forum is an industry group that endorses the standardization of optical network devices and their optical components.
(Note 4) AlGaInAs?This material makes it possible to create lasers that control the lowering of output even at high temperatures, compared to the conventional GaInAsP. As it contains Al which is oxidized readily, it is generally considered difficult to apply AlGaInAs to integrated-type optical elements that are produced through complicated processes.
(Note 5) TEC: Thermoelectric Cooling Module: This module carries out heat generation and heat absorption by passing a current to the portion connecting two thermal electronic materials. It is used for adjusting the temperature of the laser chips in this product.

Thrupoint Launches Secure WebRTC On-Ramp for the Extended Enterprise
Delivers Seamless Collaboration Experiences across Applications, Users and Endpoints
ORLANDO, Fla., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Thrupoint, a recognized leader in WebRTC innovation to enable mobile and Web-based business applications with real time communications, today announced the release of disruptive collaboration solutions that open up new ways for enterprises to engage with customers.
As an example, a patient logged into a hospital Web portal from home can start a video chat with a clinician and zoom in on x-rays with shared control of the viewing screen, all without leaving the portal application or downloading a separate client. An investor can use a native banking application on her iPad to see the presence status of her financial advisor, send instant messages, or start a video conference that connects seamlessly to her advisor's enterprise video device and allows other participants to join as defined by corporate policies. A consumer researching a specific product on a retailer's website can click to begin a video call directly from the browser with no plugin needed and, instead of being connected to a general 1-800 number, be routed intelligently to a call center agent with specialized knowledge of the product in question.
These and other innovative solutions are enabled by Thrupoint's WebRTC offerings, which deliver enriched inter-company, B2B and B2C interactions in compliance with enterprise policy and security requirements.
Thrupoint's new WebRTC-to-SIP solution establishes secure video collaboration between WebRTC capable and SIP enabled enterprise endpoints, be they company issued or bring-your-own clients, applications and devices. A new software development kit (SDK), Thrupoint Fusion(TM) Client SDK, gives Web developers easy-to-use APIs for mobile and desktop platforms that mash up existing corporate voice, video, presence and messaging capabilities together with business applications to create seamless collaboration experiences. Supporting Quotes
-- Dr. E. Brent Kelly, VP and Principal Analyst, Constellation Research:
"WebRTC will make real-time voice and video communications available for
anyone using a Web browser. But, the bare bones approach to the WebRTC
standard means that WebRTC needs policy along with integration to
existing platforms so that it can be used securely by enterprises.
Innovative companies, like Thrupoint, provide the support infrastructure
necessary for handling the ambiguities that exist within the WebRTC
standard while delivering the integration capabilities and policy
compliance necessary for extending WebRTC to the enterprise."
-- Dean Bubley, Founder of Disruptive Analysis: "WebRTC is evolving at a
blistering pace, with innovative prototypes and early commercial
offerings cropping up almost daily, even before the standards are
finalised. There is significant value for developers and enterprises
from companies offering simple 'enablers' for WebRTC, in terms of
client-side SDKs, signalling and media components. Especially on mobile
devices, this will help accelerate market penetration and address key
collaboration and contact-centre use cases."
-- Dan Miller, Senior Analyst, Opus Research, Inc: "WebRTC is subject to
lots of hype these days. But it still has to prove its business value in
the enterprise. A vendor like Thrupoint that takes a holistic approach,
combining SDKs and APIs that encourage Web developers to build new
services rapidly together with advanced session management resources,
enables enterprises to leverage existing IP-based communications and
telephony infrastructure investments."

Yoyomolo.com - On the path to reach $1.5 million in online donations in its first year
MONTREAL, March 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Yoyomolo, the most effective
peer-to-peer online donation system, has had a smashing debut. In only
six months, the new fundraising concept for everyone has distributed
over $500,000 to a variety of organizations and foundations and the
pace is accelerating.
With Yoyomolo, every dollar collected on the Web is deposited directly
into the organization's or foundation's PayPal account. As a result,
donors know that every dollar is going to the cause it has been
contributed to. Yoyomolo only collects a six percent surcharge, which
includes the PayPal or credit card transaction fees, making it one of
the most effective philanthropic funding solutions around.
Yoyomolo is different from other popular platforms in the United States
that require users to reach a specific monetary objective in a
predetermined time. If it is not reached, the money is returned to each
donor, minus administration fees. Organizations often end up
empty-handed.
"We hope to collect over $1 million over the next 12 months to help
organizations, groups, sports teams, arts collectives and foundations,
all of whom dearly need it right now, when fundraising is so tough,"
said Benoit L'Archevêque, founder and CEO of Azzimov Mobile and
co-founder of the Yoyomolo.com platform by ODE Technologies.
Yoyomolo: a platform based on a system tried and tested for years, now
available to all
Yoyomolo was built on ODE Technologies' high-performance platform. This
platform allows organizations to create as many events as they wish, on
their own, with no technological knowledge required. "We wanted to see
smaller organizations--everyone really, sports teams, cultural
activities, you name it--taking advantage of the same powerful tools the
big foundations use, via our ODE Technologies platform," said Pierre
Gagnon, president of Génération-Pub and co-founder of ODE
Technologies.
More than a simple online donation formula, Yoyomolo is proof that there
is strength in numbers.
With Yoyomolo, you can start up any number of campaigns, and create any
number of teams in each. Within each team, moreover, you can add an
unlimited number of participants--all on your own. "When we created
Yoyomolo, we wanted to reverse the pyramid so that the public could be
active in fundraising rather than leaving the job to a few individuals
who had to do all the work and collect donations," said L'Archevêque. "With Yoyomolo, every activity
is divided up among the participants themselves and their team leaders,
freeing foundations and organizations from the task and multiplying
results to a spectacular degree."

Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM), a global innovation leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, today announced a new line of Optical Transport Networking (OTN) Framer physical layer transceivers (PHYs). The BCM845xx Series offers the industry's highest level of integration and the lowest power per port, allowing system providers to reduce overall BOM costs(2), while meeting increasing performance and density demands in LAN, WAN and OTN carrier networks. For more news, visit Broadcom's Newsroom.
The wealth of bandwidth-hungry multimedia applications and services is driving demand for high-capacity, packet-based networking. Users are utilizing more dynamic services than ever before, and as more applications are moved to the cloud, new network traffic patterns are placing an ever-increasing demand on existing architectures. To meet this demand, system vendors are seeking higher density, lower power and multi-service support devices that are optimized to enable the next generation of high performance converged networks.
"We anticipate breakout growth for this segment as carriers continue to embrace and deploy OTN. According to our recent report, OTN transport and switching equipment will be nearly a $13B market by 2017," said Andrew Schmitt, Principal Analyst for Optical at Infonetics Research.
The BCM845xx Series features three device options including the BCM84520 20G version, the BCM84540 40G version and the BCM84512 120G version. Each device offers a powerful combination of mixed signal and digital processing functionality including high-speed PHY, Electronic Dispersion Compensation (EDC), clock synthesis, jitter-filtering phase lock loops (PLLs) and selectable Forward Error Correction (FEC) codes. Comprehensive application coverage enables interoperability between different network operators and system equipment vendors.
"Telecom system vendors look to Broadcom for the solutions necessary to manage the exponential increase in traffic driven by video and other high bandwidth multimedia applications," said Lorenzo Longo, Broadcom Vice President and General Manager, Physical Layer Products (PLP). Independent Industry Testing Validates NextNav's Superior Indoor Positioning Solution for E911 Mobile Calls
Results Include Two Meter Vertical or Floor-Level Accuracy
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 14(th), the FCC-chartered Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council ("CSRIC") approved the final report of the results from its independent field trial of indoor wireless location technologies for E911, during which NextNav LLC demonstrated the superior performance of its technology in accurately locating users in challenging indoor environments in both the horizontal and the vertical dimensions.
Although the FCC has long required wireless carriers to locate E911 mobile callers who are outdoors, there are no standards for E911 mobile calls from indoor locations, where mobile calling is dramatically increasing. The CSRIC test bed was designed to determine the ability of various technologies to accurately locate mobile E911 callers in challenging indoor environments.
The trial tested the performance of location systems across urban, suburban and rural areas in the San Francisco Bay Area. More than 13,000 test calls were placed from various tested technologies in 75 different indoor locations selected by participating Public Safety organizations from around the country. Results were scored for horizontal and vertical accuracy, speed of location, and reliability and consistency of results. NextNav was the only technology capable of reporting a valid height or altitude estimate, with a median height error of 2 meters, enabling floor-level positioning. NextNav's horizontal accuracy results were also impressive, reducing first responder "search rings" by 90%.
"Our ability to precisely identify the exact building, or an adjacent building or parking garage, more than 80% of the time across the most challenging indoor environments represents a significant advance for mobile E911 location," said Ganesh Pattabiraman, Founder and President of NextNav. "We also believe our unique ability to deliver floor-level height accuracy, particularly for urban residents, is revolutionary. When these capabilities are adopted they will save lives, decrease emergency response times, and provide consumers the certainty of emergency location they expect when calling 911."
According to the CSRIC, "As wireless usage increases and as more people are using cell phones indoors (or have abandoned the usage of landline phones altogether) it is becoming clear that the need to accurately locate wireless users in indoor environments is increasing." CTIA, the Wireless Association, has reported that nearly 400,000 mobile E911 calls are placed daily. The FCC itself has noted that more than 70% of all E911 calls are placed from wireless devices.
About the CSRIC Work Group and Indoor Location Trials
Chartered by the FCC to create an information base from which indoor location accuracy standards for E911 could be established, the Communications Security, Reliability, Interoperability Council (CSRIC) Working Group 3 (WG3) consists of technology vendors, public safety organizations, and the major U.S. wireless carriers.
NextNav is deploying a revolutionary positioning technology to allow mobile phones and other devices to reliably determine their location in indoor and urban environments where GPS signals can't be received. NextNav's technology combines accurate horizontal positioning with floor-level height precision. Delivered over a managed network with carrier-grade dependability and metropolitan-wide coverage, NextNav's positioning services are designed for E911, public safety and emergency response as well as the multitude of consumer and commercial applications that require precise indoor location accuracy. Based in Sunnyvale, CA and McLean, VA, NextNav is working with the Public Safety community and major technology partners to embed its capability into new GPS chipsets and mobile phones.
