Cooper Industries Offers a Wide Range of Cost- and Labor-Saving Solutions
Cooper Products Increase Efficiencies, Reduce Cost of Ownership
DUBLIN, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Cooper Industries (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical solutions, knows that companies are continually striving to do more with less. So, to help increase productivity and bottom line, Cooper has developed a wide range of products and solutions designed to offer both cost- and labor-savings. Including innovative solutions offering tool-less installation, a reduction in components and a smaller footprint, Cooper Industries is helping distributors and end users meet business goals and reduce the total cost of ownership.
Cooper Wiring Devices offers a complete line of Arrow Hart(TM) QuickGrip Industrial Plug and Connectors ideal for a wide range of applications including industrial manufacturing, residential repairs and healthcare facilities. These efficient, dependable and durable solutions allow for quick and accurate wiring. Features include a roomy wiring chamber and large, funneled wire entry to ensure proper wiring. They also have a clear terminal cover to visually verify secure termination. Their single-piece, hinged bodies offer a unique terminal configuration placing screws in only two directions for both a reduction in total parts and installation time.
To quickly and easily support pipes of all sizes, Cooper B-Line now offers users Kwik-Clip(TM) pipe hangers and Snap 'N Shield(TM) supports.
With a non-metallic frame designed to eliminate metal-to-metal contact and prevent galvanic corrosion, new Kwik-Clip(TM) pipe hangers utilize a one-piece assembly for reduced installation time. Their efficient, tool-less installation allows installers to simply snap Kwik-Clips into channels or onto 3/8" threaded rod for an instant, secure connection. They are available for tubing O.D. ranges of 3/8" to 2 1/8" and meet UL2043 requirements for plenum rating and UL94 HB flame rating.
For the most reliable, durable and cost effective way to protect insulated pipes, Cooper B-Line offers Snap 'N Shield(TM) supports. Ideal for horizontal pipe runs, the supports offer a tool-free installation snapping directly onto the channel for maximum support and protection. Snap 'N Shield supports remain in place as pipes expand and contract, protecting the piping insulation from damage and eliminating the risk of leaks caused by contact between piping lines, trapeze bars or threaded rod. Snap 'N Shield supports are UL classified for USA (UL-723 (ASTM E 84)) and ULC listed for Canada (ILC-S102.2).
The newly introduced ACE Series Explosionproof Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) from Cooper Crouse-Hindsis another example of labor-savings through innovation. Designed specifically for hazardous areas, the ACE VFD features a NEMA 7 enclosure with patent-pending active cooling technology, allowing a traditional VFD to be housed inside the classified enclosure without the risk of overheating. Because it can be mounted next to the motor in the classified area, installation of Cooper Crouse-Hinds' ACE VFD series is simple and cost-effective, eliminating the need to run long lines of conduit and motor cable or build off-site control rooms in non-hazardous areas. Once installed, the ACE Series Explosionproof VFD also provides the traditional VFD benefits of energy savings, speed and torque control with real-time system diagnostics.
To shine a light on time and energy savings, Cooper Lighting has developed the Lumark Crosstour(TM) LED Wall Pack Series. Featuring the industry's first universal back box design, the Crosstour series can be quickly installed to all standard junction boxes without the use of adaptor plates or loose hardware. Available in three high-performance LED lumen packages (10-watts, 20-watts and 30-watts), Crosstour replaces up to 175-watt metal halide fixtures, offering up to 90 percent in energy savings. The series' unique patent-pending, slim, low-profile design provides solutions for wall, surface, post (bollard), low-level and inverted installations. The series is also IP66 rated, ADA compliant and UL/cUL Listed.
Cooper Controls also offers a unique solution for added savings with its NeoSwitch(TM) wall switch occupancy sensor. This lighting control combines a wall switch, occupancy sensor and daylight sensor into one easy-to-use energy management device for maximum savings. It automatically adjusts in response to occupancy and natural light levels to eliminate lighting energy waste in empty rooms and when sufficient daylight is present. NeoSwitch controls can also be integrated into the HVAC systems to turn units ON or OFF in response to occupancy. They also feature an ECO indicator light that glows green when lighting energy is being saved.
The Cooper Power Systems Cleer(TM) 600 Amp Loadbreak Connector System dramatically reduces outage durations, and cuts labor by 50% over bolted connections without having to de-energize, remove bolted terminations, or move or stress heavy cables, during maintenance and repair operations. The Cl??r patented design provides reliable switching under load - allowing other circuits to remain energized - while the visible break and visible ground provides peace of mind to those working on energized equipment. The C-shape connector is light weight, and easy to install and remove with a clamp-stick for added safety.
Cooper Power Systems is also increasing savings by making the smart grid even smarter with its new Yukon(TM) 5.3 Advanced Energy Services software. Implemented at more than 300 cooperative, municipal and investor-owned utilities across North America, Yukon 5.3 software includes enhanced functionality, including Integrated Volt/Var (IVVC) applications that support per phase voltage regulations as well as a Web-based operational dashboard; Advanced Metering Infrastructure Solutions to support a blended communication approach; and Demand Response Management Solution that supports ZigBee SEP 1.1-based devices.
To save time and money from specifying through installation and long-term maintenance, Cooper Bussmann has enhanced its Quik-Spec(TM) Coordination Panelboard (QSCP) product offering. Now available with up to 1200A mains, the QSCP offers quick, flexible configuration with an online configurator tool, allowing specifiers to configure it to exact needs, price out and order components all with the click of a mouse. The QSCP makes selective coordination easy in a fully fused system by simply following published fuse coordination tables, saving time and costs associated with plotting extensive time-current curves. All these benefits come in a footprint that's up to 40 percent smaller than other fusible panelboards saving valuable wall space.
"Our customers continue to tell us time and time again that they are looking for a complete line of products that will both create jobsite efficiencies and reduce cost," said Cooper Industries Chairman and CEO, Kirk S. Hachigian. "To show that we hear them loud and clear, we've developed a wide range of solutions across our product lines. From LED lighting products to panelboards and software, Cooper Industries works hard to develop innovative products that allow our customers to see real savings from installation through long-term maintenance."
Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE) is a global electrical products manufacturer with 2011 revenues of $5.4 billion. Founded in 1833 Cooper's sustained success is attributable to a constant focus on innovation and evolving business practices, while maintaining the highest ethical standards and meeting customer needs. The Company has seven operating divisions with leading market positions and world-class products and brands, including Bussmann electrical and electronic fuses; Crouse-Hinds and CEAG explosion-proof electrical equipment; Halo and Metalux lighting fixtures; and Kyle and McGraw-Edison power systems products. BrandYourself.com Launches Free Platform to Help Any Person Control Their Name In Google
SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Today, venture-backed startup BrandYourself.com has officially launched the first do-it-yourself platform that makes it easy for any person to take control of their own Google results. In the past, if someone wanted to improve what showed up when they were Googled, they either needed to know the technical process of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or pay a reputation company thousands of dollars to do it for them. According to CEO Patrick Ambron, BrandYourself's free product simplifies the entire process so the average consumer can finally manage their own name in Google without being forced to break the bank.
Users simply submit any positive links they want showing up at the top of Google--their LinkedIn profile, a personal website, an article written about them, etc.--and use BrandYourself's simple tools to help those links rank higher for their name, burying unwanted results in the process. Users can also build a BrandYourself profile, which is the only one on the web automatically optimized to show up high in Google for their name.
The company started when co-founder Pete Kistler couldn't get an internship in college because he was being mistaken for a drug dealer in Google. Kistler realized Google is an incredibly important part of your reputation, but unless you know how SEO works--which most people don't--or have thousands of dollars to spend on a reputation company, there is nothing you can do. "We wanted to put the power of SEO in everybody's hands, regardless of how tech savvy or wealthy they might be," Kistlersays. "So we created a free product that makes it dead simple for anyone." Teaming up with Ambron and third co-founder Evan McGowan Watson, they put together a team, raised venture capital and began building the product.
BrandYourself's product is now available to the public. To sign up for a free account, go to BrandYourself.com. While the basic product is free, BrandYourself also offers a premium version with more powerful functionality for only a few dollars a month."Our mission is to help everyone take control of their own search results," said Ambron. "So even our premium features are affordable for the average consumer."
About BrandYourself
BrandYourself.com is the first do-it-yourself platform that makes it easy for anyone to take control of their own Google results. It was founded in 2009 by Syracuse University classmates Pete Kistler, Patrick Ambron and Evan McGowan-Watson after Kistler couldn't get an internship for being mistaken in Google as a drug dealer. BrandYourself has raised more than $1.2 million in Series A funding and been recognized for its innovative technology, including being honored by the White House as one of the Top 100 Startups Run by Entrepreneurs Under 30, being named one of the Top 5 Collegiate Startups by Entrepreneur Magazine, and being named the winner of the New York State Emerging Business Technology competition, a $200,000 prize, the youngest team to ever win.
BrandYourself.com Raises $1.2M to Help Everybody Take Control of Their Search Results
SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today BrandYourself.com--which recently launched the first do-it-yourself platform to help people control their own Search results--announced a Series A investment of $1.2 million. BrandYourself will use the round to continue its mission to help anyone control what shows up about them online, regardless of how tech savvy or wealthy they might be.
Investors include Zelkova Ventures, as well as a group of strategically chosen angel investors that includes Barney Pell, former head search strategist at Microsoft, and Carl Shramm, former CEO of the world-renowned Kauffman Foundation.
According to BrandYourself CEO Patrick Ambron, choosing the right investors was important. "Online Reputation is becoming a mainstream concern, but reputation companies that cost thousands of dollars just don't appeal to mainstream consumers. Once we launched the product, it was clear to everyone we were in a position to completely change the industry. We wanted a group of investors with the experience and resources to help us do that," he said.
The company started when co-founder Pete Kistler couldn't get an internship in college because he was being mistaken for a drug dealer on Google. Rather than pay a reputation company thousands of dollars to improve his results, he and Ambron wanted to create a free product that made it easy for anyone to do themselves. "In today's world, where search and social media is the first place we look to learn more about somebody else and 75% of HR departments are required to research candidates online, everybody should be taking this seriously," says Jay Levy, principal at Zelkova Ventures.
To sign up for a free account, go to BrandYourself.com. While the basic product is free, BrandYourself also offers a premium version with more powerful functionality for only a few dollars a month."Our mission is to help everyone take control of their own search results," says Ambron, "So even our premium features are affordable for the average consumer."

Dynamic Visualizer of Research Footprints Wins Elsevier's Application Development Challenge in China
AMSTERDAM, March 8, 2012/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Grand Prize goes to "Aerial Viewer", built by graduate students from
Institute of Computing Technology at Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fudan University
Elsevier [http://www.elsevier.com ], a world-leading provider of scientific,
technical, and medical information products and services, today announced the winners and
winning applications of its first China Science Challenge, a competition calling out
software developers to create customized solutions to enhance the search and discovery
experience for researchers on the SciVerse [http://info.sciverse.com ] platform.
Participants of the challenge worked in teams to submit concepts for applications and
were then invited to move forward with their proposed project over the course of a
six-week development period. In addition to the content provided via SciVerse Application
Programming Interface (API), teams used a variety of data sources of their choice
including Microsoft Academic Search API, Google Map and Google Trends API.
The winning teams and their applications are:
- Grand Prize: Yingzhong Xu, Institute of Computing Technology at Chinese
Academy of Sciences, and Jingjing Han, Fudan University. The team developed "Aerial
Viewer", an application that allows users to quickly understand a compilation of
related industry research papers, authors and organizations. The app generates a
detailed, multi-dimension framework of information - statistical data, journals,
conferences, published papers, and visual maps of frequently used keywords - to help
researchers, librarians and research technology programmers understand an entire
research footprint.
- Second Prize: Xiaobing Liu, Yang Lu and Jinpeng Wang of Peking University. The
team developed "ezReading", an app that finds name entities in articles and links them
to Wikipedia to help users understand articles and research topics more easily.
- Special Mention: Jianfei Wang and Bo Gao of Tsinghua University. The team
developed "Arnet Map" to map out top researchers from a variety of research
disciplines based on their geographical locations.
"The Aerial Viewer app is inspired by the daily challenges we are confronted with as
graduate students when searching and filtering relevant research papers," said Mr.
Yingzhong Xu, "Researchers, especially students, can be overwhelmed by the immense volume
of search results which makes it difficult to confirm a paper's importance, particularly
if the researcher is unfamiliar with major journals and conferences. We thought SciVerse
is a good platform to solve this problem, so we built and integrated our application with
SciVerse ScienceDirect and SciVerse Hub."
"The creativity displayed by the winning research solutions is remarkable," said
Rafael Sidi, Vice President Product Management, Applications Marketplace and Developer
Network at Elsevier. "We appreciate the advice and support from Professor Jie Tang at
Tsinghua University Department of Computer Science and are pleased to have engaged
developers in the academic community in China for the first time."
The winning applications - Aerial Viewer, ezReading and Arnet Map - were selected by
the Applications Marketplace and Developer Network at Elsevier and will be featured and
available to download in the SciVerse Applications
[http://www.applications.sciverse.com/action/userhome ] Marketplace in the coming months.

Elray Gaming Set to Launch Unique Cutting Edge Toolbar Applications for Online Poker and Casino Players
NEW YORK, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elray Resources Inc. t/a Elray Gaming (OTC.BB:ELRA) a developer of turnkey online gaming and technology products, announced that it has concluded its acquisition of cutting edge Intellectual Property that will allow Elray to build unique cutting edge web technology that will be marketed under the brand CrazyJapps (http://www.crazyjapps.com).
The Company is already in the process of beta testing this powerful technology, its own branded browser plug-in Toolbar applications that will allow users to find discounts on general merchandise and services, and special offers for online poker, casinos, and gaming websites. As users visit certain websites they will be alerted directly from their browser from a drop-down notice showing any special discounts, cash bonuses, or special offerings within that site. As the user partakes in the special discounts, Elray would benefit by generating immediate revenue income from the use of the data obtained from these installs.
Initially CrazyJ Apps will have a daily deals application/Toolbar providing customers with coupons and discount alerts while they shop; this will be followed by a Financial Toolbar Application that offers financial information and provides users with the latest stock alerts, prices and news as well as a Casino Toolbar Application which will provide non US users with online casino deals and free money giveaways.
With millions of people using these applications every day, CrazyJ Media, a subsidiary of CrazyJ Apps, will be able to accumulate valuable data and establish customer habits and preferences. CrazyJ Media will use this information to offer clients the most relevant advertising for each individual, thereby enhancing the end user experience. This of course benefits advertisers with more focused targeted advertising and subsequently better value for money for their advertising dollar spends.
Mr. Goodman, CEO of Elray, stated that "This acquisition of cutting edge technology by Elray is extremely valuable and will result in substantial revenues. The overall market for virtual goods in the US is headed towards $2.9 billion for 2012, up from $2.2 billion this year, and $1.6 billion in 2010." Mr. Goodman also stated that "91% of online U.S. adults access social media in a typical month; two thirds of online U.S. adults use social media."
Online Gaming Toolbar Application
Many online poker and casino sites offer coupon bonus codes for new users. Through Elray Gaming's new Toolbar app active online poker or casino players will be alerted, right from their browser, on any special discounts and discount codes for any specific site. This would not only offer users the ability to find special discounts on many online gaming sites, but allow our company to build a database of active online gamers for future specials directly from Elray Gaming, where laws permit.
Stock Market Toolbar Application
As well as offering users discount specials from online gaming websites, the Toolbar can be customized for specific users seeking constant updates, such as with financial data, and promotional updates. Users could install the Toolbar and receive updates on specific currencies for active Forex traders, track their portfolio of stocks they follow, or receive alerts directly from their browser on stocks making out of the ordinary moves. This feature could also be marketed to specific companies, or investor relations firms, seeking greater exposure for their companies, while providing additional revenue opportunities for Elray Gaming.
Advertising
In addition to offering users discount specials on websites they visit, our Toolbar app will allow Elray to target advertise to users who have installed the browser plugin application, and allow for the generation of targeted advertising revenues. In addition, the browser app will also allow us to target search engine search results that will target the users preferences, while also increasing Elray's advertising revenue traffic.

Sonic Foundry Celebrates its 1000th Higher Education Customer
Richard Ivey School of Business in Ontario, Canada selects Mediasite for webcasting in new high tech classrooms
MADISON, Wis., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted market leader for lecture capture, enterprise and event webcasting, today celebrated the shipment of Mediasite to its milestone 1000th higher education customer. The Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey) in Ontario, Canada has selected Mediasite for its new high tech, $110 million business school which is scheduled for completion in late spring 2013.
The school is located on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Mediasite will be installed in all 20 classrooms plus the 640-seat auditorium in the 270,000-square-foot glass and stone building. The project will use Mediasite to seamlessly webcast classroom discussions, speakers, student competitions and special events for alumni and the business community worldwide. Academic webcasting with Mediasite allows faculty, students and alumni to create instant knowledge archives for online learning, continuing education and professional development.
"Our technology is there to serve the needs of teaching. We were seeking technology that would enhance human interaction but be in the classroom background. We want to capture classes and also allow professors to observe their teaching afterwards to gauge the quality of interaction between students," said Peter Scheyen, director of IT at the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Case-Method Learning is the foundation of the Ivey's degree and executive programs-- a powerful decision-making approach that develops global business leaders. Each case provides the student with an opportunity to stand in the shoes of the decision-maker, analyzing the business issue presented, making judgments and determining a course of action. Ivey is the only business school in Canada that uses this method, and now, with Mediasite, those discussions will be captured and archived for review.
In addition, the Mediasite webcasting platform will allow the school to live stream guest lectures by invited speakers in New York and Ontario.
"Video production at Ivey is doubling every year, and we'll discover even more ways to enhance learning and teaching results with Mediasite," Scheyen said. "In the past we've burned 1,000 DVDs of case competitions, guest speakers and teaching materials in a year to distribute those class sessions to students. Having the ability to send a link to the session instead supports our vision of being an environmentally sustainable school."
"Sonic Foundry is honored that 1,000 colleges and universities around the globe are now using Mediasite and we're proud to have this milestone marked by our new work with the Richard Ivey School of Business," said Gary Weis, CEO of Sonic Foundry. "The school's enterprise-installation of Mediasite is an example of the growing demand for lecture-capture technology, and it is rewarding to be a part of this exciting new facility that will enhance professional development and student learning, while at the same time support their green initiatives and reduce costs."
Mediasite by Sonic Foundry is the trusted market leader for enterprise webcasting, hybrid events and lecture capture. Chosen by more than 1,000 colleges and universities, the patented Mediasite webcasting and video content management system quickly and cost-effectively automates the capture, management, delivery and search of live and on-demand streaming videos and rich media presentations that combine video with slides.

Community Choice Credit Union Selects iPay Technologies' Biz 2.0
- Small business online bill pay solution enables differentiation of members' needs for payments fulfillment, control, and efficiency -
MONETT, Mo., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: JKHY) is a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for financial services organizations. Its iPay Technologies(TM) division announced today that Michigan-based Community Choice Credit Union has selected its Biz 2.0(TM) small business online bill pay platform.
Community Choice Credit Union places a high priority on its small business members and offers several products and services for their unique requirements. The credit union wanted to also provide these members with tools that can generate operational efficiencies and more effective cash flow management - two primary concerns for most small businesses. Biz 2.0 offers payments capabilities designed specifically for small businesses that are not traditionally part of consumer online bill pay solutions. These features include customizable user entitlements, accounts payable and accounts receivables functions, electronic invoicing, custom audit reports, and person-to-person (P2P) payments, all accessed through a single sign-on solution that is fully integrated with online banking platforms.
Dan Munro, senior vice president for Community Choice Credit Union, said, "Last year, the credit union identified our commitment to small business relationships as a key value proposition for banking with us. We wanted to fortify our product offering along with that commitment to ensure our goals were met for business growth and member service. By offering iPay's Biz 2.0, we are supporting small businesses with a robust solution to gain control over and satisfy many of their transactional requirements."
iPay's Biz 2.0 is nimble enough for businesses with monthly transactions ranging from 10 to several thousand. Post implementation, iPay offers each financial institution comprehensive training and marketing support to help optimize end-user awareness and maximize adoption. For Biz 2.0, this also means helping Community Choice Credit Union and other clients identify businesses using traditional consumer bill pay solutions that would realize greater material benefits by transitioning to the small business solution. iPay backs its payment solutions with a full service call center, branded for each credit union or bank client, to facilitate all frontline member/customer support.
According to Greg Adelson, group president of iPay Technologies, "Credit unions' penetration among small businesses is still fairly low, but that is rapidly changing as they recognize the opportunities residing in this lucrative market segment. Our Biz 2.0 solution is ideal for any credit union or bank looking for ways to strengthen their small business relationships by being a partner to enable future growth."

Flexpoint Announces Development of Multiple New Applications
DRAPER, Utah, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) http://www.flexpoint.com, a leader in design and supply of thin film sensing technology, announced today that they are currently working with other established companies on development of several new applications for their patented Bend Sensor®( )technology. These uses include two medical devices and a monitoring device. All are in the early prototype development and testing stage.
We are working with a company on the development of a disposable directional positioning sensor for colonoscopes. According to an article published in MedScape Today magazine, the "'annual demand for colonoscopy ranges from 2.21 to 7.96 million" procedures in the United States. One of the difficulties with the procedure is providing an inexpensive means of locating the exact position of the colonoscopes. With the use of a sensor array and monitoring equipment it appears to be possible to locate the positioning of the colonoscopes.
We have developed a specialty sensor for an undisclosed medical device with another company. The volumes quoted for this device are between 500,000 to 1 million sensors annually. The sensor is an adaptation of a sensor that we already have commercially available. Initial testing on this device has been very positive and further testing will continue for at least the balance of the year. We will work closely with the company in the adaptation and development of additional prototypes as testing progresses.
Flexpoint Sensor Systems is also in the process of developing a movement and motion detection system for the US Military with a military subcontractor.
Clark Mower, President of Flexpoint stated, "These are exciting applications for our technology. In every instance the companies have sought us out and are working with us on the development of a specialized sensor for their unique use requirements. While these are in the early development stage, initial testing for each application has produced positive results and development is moving forward. It is expected that the development process will continue throughout the year with significant production and sales not occurring until at least the following year. Because two of these involve medical devices, the approval process may be longer than normally anticipated. We look forward to continuing development of these and other applications in the future.
About Flexpoint
Flexpoint Sensor Systems (FLXT) is a leading supplier of thin film sensing technology to many industries, including automotive, medical, industrial controls, and consumer products.
Flexpoint manufactures a patented new flexible sensor that has also proven to be an extremely durable switch. The single layer Bend Sensor® product allows for the measurement of mechanical movement, air flow, water flow, or even vibration. In addition, it has been tested to over 35 million cycles without failure. It can be used as a range of motion sensor, or as a very durable, very reliable switch in most harsh environments. The breadth of applications for our sensor is limited only by one's imagination.

Frost & Sullivan: Apple Further Dominates Tablet Space with the Launch of New iPad
~Added 4G LTE network set to be a game changing factor
SINGAPORE, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple has again met expectations and upped the ante with the added features in place for the new iPad. The new device is the first Apple product to include 4G LTE Technology. Together with the HD retina display that is four times the number of pixels in the iPad 2 screen, Apple is trying hard to ensure that it remains the dominant market player in the tablet space.
Jayesh Easwaramony, Vice President, ICT Practice, Asia Pacific, Frost & Sullivan said, "The new iPad is a global product that caters to an evolved market of mobile internet users with strong purchasing power; it will attract consumers in the more developed markets of the Asia Pacific region like South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia."
"iPad currently rules the tablet category by a wide margin with a close to 70% market share. The new iPad further protects its interests by building in more attractive features such as the HD display and more processing power to continue its dominance as the 'defacto' tablet of choice."
The Tablet PC market is still a relatively nascent one, which is good for Apple. The overall market is still growing at a rapid rate so the size of the revenue pie will increase strongly in a market which Apple is clearly dominating. In contrast, the smartphone market which continues to grow is now starting to mature, so replacement handsets now make up a lot of purchases whereas first time buyers still occupy a large slice of the Tablet PC market.
Phil Harpur, Senior Research Manager, ICT Practice, Australia & New Zealand, Frost & Sullivan said, "Apple no doubt is very dominant and has a strongly entrenched market position in both the smartphone and tablet markets, especially in Australia. The smartphone market is becoming more and more of a challenge for them as the market matures and competition grows, mainly from smartphones running the android platform. In Australia, the android smartphone has only just overtaken Apple in terms of smartphone subscribers; in markets such as the US, android has dominated for a while."
Phil also noted that competitors are still behind Apple in terms of features and functionality though he commented that Samsung and Asus have some interesting releases. Yet no brand has really produced anything that truly challenges Apple in the Tablet PC market that would significantly eat into Apple's market share. This may change over the next year or two as it did in the smartphone market, but it will be a gradual process.
Phil added, "Competition is constantly heating up and market expectations are no doubt much higher. While Apple will be able to, to a significant degree, ride the strong wave of momentum it has built in the market with this new iPad release, with each release the market will be expecting more and more. Apple is already facing challenges in the smartphone market from competitors with functionality which is getter closer and closer to theirs. Such challenges will continue over the next two to five years. However one trump card that Apple does have in its favour is its domination of the application market with its App Store for its iPhone, iPad and iPod."

Howling adds: "As Pulsant we represent one of the UK's largest 'independent' hosting
and colocation providers. We are focused on servicing the needs of companies with a high
reliance on data, the internet or Cloud, who may have dispersed workforces or simply want
to free their IT resources from managing infrastructure. Our mission is to provide them
with the best quality solutions and services backed by support with passion. As companies
respond to the challenges of an increasingly mobile, web-based world, Pulsant helps them
be more efficient, effective and profitable in how they connect, manage and store their
data."
Pulsant has customers from a wide range of sectors, but has particular focus on those
involved in eCommerce, digital design, eLearning, professional services, cloud computing
and IT application development. They will be among the first to benefit from the company's
new combined capabilities, expanded solutions portfolio and on-going investment plans.
"We will continue to work closely with partners, such as Microsoft and HP, to deliver
'best in class' solutions," confirms Howling. "At the same time, we are enhancing our data
facilities in Scotland and England with even faster inter-site connections and new energy
saving technologies, including cold aisle containment. In addition, we will also source
100 per cent of our energy from renewable sources by October. A major focus this year will
be the expansion of our facilities in south London to create a dedicated hosting and
colocation 'campus' - ideal for businesses looking to move their data storage from
expensive central London facilities where space is at a premium."
Pulsant powers IT for the mid-market. Formed following the merger of DediPower,
Lumison and BlueSquare Data, it is backed by strong investment and a philosophy of
"Support with Passion". A leading provider of reliable, high quality IP network,
colocation and managed application hosting services, Pulsant supports thousands of
customers from eight UK datacentres, in five locations. Using the latest technology, it

Adform Invests Locally to Grow Finland's Online Media Market, Driving Real Time Bidding and Rich Media Capabilities
HELSINKI, March 8, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
This month, Danish software company Adform opens local office in Finland, following
expansion of a number of recent openings across Europe. Adform is uniquely represented in
all Nordic countries, and boasts more coverage across Europe than any competitive
solution. The company now operates locally serviced offices in eleven European markets.
While it is more than likely that Adform is the world's most complete panacea for
managing online display advertising, it is certainly Europe's. Within the interface media
agencies and advertisers can purchase display ads in real time - so-called real-time
bidding - perform media planning, execute rich media solutions and optimise activities
across media centralising all reporting.
Finland presented high growth rates in digital advertising in 2011. Especially online
display advertising was instrumental in creating this result, and Adform is certain that
there is much more to come.
"Display advertising isn't afforded the respect or attention it deserves. Things have
changed of late, and there is more focus on planning and producing effective display ads,"
says Christopher Fernandez, Adform's newly appointed Business Development Director in
Finland.
He points to Web TV and rich media ads as a major source of growth for the future.
"The use of video banners is increasing. The popularity of Web-TV and the widespread
use of Web-TV from advertisers spur demand. Similarly, there is great potential for Rich
Media. "
For the past two years, Christopher Fernandez has been Head of Digital at the media
agency Virta Mediacommunity and has previously worked for Aegis Media.
"We are at our best when executing locally with our partners. Our goal is to make
display media simple, relevant & rewarding to the Finland media market - that's quite
unique and clear. We have great confidence in our recent developments in Real Time bidding
and Rich Media Solutions and excited to bring to Finland, but leadership is key; Chris
comes highly recommended and we're really very excited to what his potential will bring
the market," says David Fulton, Chief Commercial Officer of Adform
About Adform
Adform close the loop by integrating media planning, buying, optimization, and
reporting for all online display advertising in one place, thus saving an enormous amount
of time, money and resources.
Adform's unique platform incorporates display ad serving, rich media, video, mobile,
dynamic ads, personalised targeting, and real-time bidding through integrations with major
inventory players, making display advertising simple, relevant and rewarding for media
agencies and online advertisers. Adform was established in Denmark in 2002 and now has
offices in 11 countries including Nordics, UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Attensity Provides Social Analytics to National News Organizations
Super Tuesday Election Analysis Featured by USA Today, FOX 5 Atlanta
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Attensity, the leading provider of social analytics and engagement applications for Social CRM, today announced its work with USA Today and FOX 5 Atlanta to provide social media analysis of the Super Tuesday Republican primary elections. The company's analysis was featured in a cover story in both the print and online editions of USA Today, and in both TV and online coverage by FOX 5 Atlanta. In addition, Attensity's real-time social media analytics application, dubbed the "Social Media Buzz Tracker" by FOX 5, is monitoring and analyzing social media conversations about the candidates and issues, delivering live, dynamic reports to the FOX 5 elections web page.
"Attensity is excited to be helping mainstream media organizations like USA Today, FOX 5 and Yahoo! use real-time social analytics to inform their breaking news updates," said Rebecca MacDonald, vice president of marketing at Attensity. "Rather than searching Twitter and Facebook for individual comments about candidates and issues, news organizations and campaigns can now get detailed insights drawn from thousands and even millions of social conversations, including positive and negative sentiment, key issues and themes, and emerging conversation trends."
Attensity's research for USA Today drew from more than 800,000 messages posted to Twitter in the past week. The analysis measured positive sentiment and the share of "voice", or volume of conversations, for each candidate. The FOX 5 Social Media Buzz Tracker delivers live, dynamic reports to the FOX 5 elections web page. The reports include sentiment scores that change in real time as social media users post comments about each candidate, and show detailed ratings on the candidate's performance on issues such as the economy, unemployment, the national debt, healthcare and national security.
Attensity has been monitoring the Republican presidential debates and primaries for several weeks. The company has worked with Yahoo! to provide real-time social analytics for the televised GOP debates. While candidate sentiment has been incredibly insightful over the ensuing period, other non-sentiment --easily gleaned by Attensity along with sentiment-- has become increasingly useful from the perspective of analyzing insights about candidates, their messaging, and campaign management.
Analysis of the ongoing debates and election has been possible using Attensity's real-time social analytics solution, which enables large consumer-facing brands to go beyond mere social media monitoring to:
-- LISTEN to social customer conversations from over 75 million online
sources, including the full Twitter Firehose, Facebook, blogs,
communities, forums and other sources.
-- ANALYZE those conversations for key business insights, going beyond
basic sentiment to get detailed reports on feedback about new products,
campaigns, brands, service and support, and other business drivers.
-- RELATE that intelligence to structured data within existing customer
systems such as CRM, ERP, BI, EFM and other systems.
-- ACT with a playbook that allows companies to take charge of emerging
issues and manage the customer experience based on their own
organizational structure and business processes.
Attensity's social analytics and engagement offering has led to the company's recognition by CRM Magazine as a "Rising Star" in the 2012 CRM Service Awards as a "social scientist" that "helps clients use social channels to gain insight into customers through text analytics." Attensity was also named in the March 2012 issue of KMWorld Magazine to its annual list of the 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management -- Attensity's ninth consecutive year on the list.
