New Video Series Helps Families Dealing with Loss of a Loved One

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 7, 2011. /PRNewswire/ -- A new series of videos produced by The Remembrance Process(SM) is aimed at helping families deal with end of life issues and the loss of a loved one. The videos will be posted on YouTube and are also available at http://www.remembranceprocess.com.  Each video features a wealth of information that can help families before and after the death of a loved one.

"During the creation of The Remembrance Process(SM) our research clearly showed that people were seeking meaningful information to help them move through what is often the most difficult times of their lives," said Steve Gackenbach, Chief Commercial Officer at Matthews International Corporation, the sponsor of The Remembrance Process(SM) program.   Gackenbach added, "As part of our mission of helping families move from grieving to remembrance, we created these videos to provide meaningful information in a way that can be accessed conveniently. In addition to advice and lessons from professionals, The Remembrance Process(SM) Series also features video interviews with regular people who convey their personal experiences about the people, services and rituals that helped them deal with the loss of a loved one. 

The first series consists of four videos that will be introduced one per week starting September 13th.  All of the videos are being released on http://youtube.com/remembranceprocess, and on The Remembrance Process(SM) website at http://www.remembranceprocess.com.  The first videos feature a minister providing insights on ways to reduce funeral stress, a business executive talking about how hospice helped him and his wife with the passing of her mother; a grief counselor talking about "walking the mourner's path" and lastly a young widow talking about ways she was helped in dealing with the loss of her husband.  The short videos are viewable 24 hours a day, by families who need this advice most.  Steve Gackenbach added,  "In researching this series on end of life advice with clergy, funeral and hospice professionals, we learned that often families most need information late at night, when they are worried, can't sleep, and yet don't know where to turn.  Now with the Internet and new technologies, we can provide meaningful advice to families in the privacy of their homes, when they need it most."

definitive agreement to acquire RepliWeb Inc., a U.S.-based leading provider
of enterprise file replication and managed file transfer technologies. With
this strategic acquisition, Attunity will become one of the leading software

access, sharing and distribution of both data and content across
heterogeneous IT platforms in enterprise data centers and Cloud
environments. With more than 1,500 customers worldwide, RepliWeb is a

John Paton, as the Chief Executive of Digital First Media, will act as CEO of both Journal Register Company and MediaNews Group.

In a separate release, MediaNews Group, the nation's second largest newspaper company as measured by circulation, announced its appointment of Mr. Paton as CEO and the new agreement with Digital First Media. Mr. Paton, a director of Journal Register Company, has also been appointed to MediaNews Group's board of directors. Mr. Paton and Digital First Media will report to the boards of both MediaNews Group and Journal Register Company.

This arrangement provides MediaNews and Journal Register Company with immediate cost benefits, and the ability to leverage the combined scale and expertise of both companies for their mutual benefit.

ClearOne Set to Launch Several New Innovations from Cloud-based Music Management to Streaming Multimedia Hardware and Amplifiers

The products are being shown this week in Indianapolis at the annual CEDIA Expo, the world's largest trade show devoted to professionally-installed residential electronic systems.

Featured products include a cloud-based music management system that provides global access to a user's complete music library located anywhere on the network; a new compact, high-power 2x150 watt-per-channel amplifier; and a new digital tuner, compatible with two StreamNet controller/amplifiers with built-in web servers to tune in and play MP3 Internet radio streams. The company will also debut three AV products to the residential market.

Prominent at this year's show will be ANTHOLOGY(TM), an IP-based network music system that simplifies access to music on PCs, iTunes, Internet radio, remote servers and cloud services. ANTHOLOGY Cloud Sync automatically backs up content to a private Internet Data Locker(TM) for multi-location synchronization and remote access to media from computers and mobile devices.

Making its debut at CEDIA is the new SLX300, an in-wall or rack-mounted digital decoder amplifier which delivers two audio channels up to 150 watts each.  The SLX300 is the most powerful 2-channel amplifier in the DigiLinX line, and addresses a long-standing need for a high-power 2-channel amp in listening room and home theater applications.

The third new product being introduced is a built-in webserver which allows tuning and streaming of over ten thousand MP3 Internet radio stations located around the world.  This new feature, which is compatible with the TLA250 and SL251 IP audio decoders and amplifiers, allows adding MP3 Internet radio as a local source to any zone in a DigiLinX system.

The three products making their residential market debut at the CEDIA Expo are the MLVA9500, an IP encoder for AV content from an HDMI source; the VL9300, an IP decoder for AV content going to an HDTV or other AV component; and BluePort(TM), a wireless digital audio gateway that allows an iPhone, Android smartphone, or other Bluetooth device to be a wireless audio source for one zone or multiple zones in a home system.

DETROIT, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy has introduced a new interactive iPhone application (app) for customers to access a variety of up-to-the-minute information, including real-time outage information from their mobile devices.

The DTE Energy Outage Center app is available from the Apple iTunes App store or Apple.com free of charge.

Located at dteenergy.com, the Outage Center is a central area online where consumers interested in getting the latest information about power outages, get tips on what to do during a storm or other frequently asked questions. DTE Energy is one of the first utilities in the country to allow customers to report power outages via a downloadable native mobile smartphone application. 

Using the app, DTE Energy customers can report power outages, view the status of a reported problem and explore a map illustrating the number of outages reported throughout the area.

DTE Energy has added this mobile capability to our existing suite of outage-related offerings to bring useful information to customers in the way they want or in an outage situation, where they are able to see it.

Such stacking would allow for dramatically higher levels of integration for information technology and consumer electronics applications. Processors could be tightly packed with memory and networking, for example, into a "brick" of silicon that would create a computer chip 1,000 times faster than today's fastest microprocessor enabling more powerful smartphones, tablets, computers and gaming devices.

The companies' work can potentially leapfrog today's current attempts at stacking chips vertically - known as 3D packaging. The joint research tackles some of the thorniest technical issues underlying the industry's move to true 3D chip forms. For example, new types of adhesives are needed that can efficiently conduct heat through a densely packed stack of chips and away from heat-sensitive components such as logic circuits.

"Today's chips, including those containing '3D' transistors, are in fact 2D chips that are still very flat structures," said Bernard Meyerson, VP of Research, IBM. "Our scientists are aiming to develop materials that will allow us to package tremendous amounts of computing power into a new form factor - a silicon 'skyscraper.' Bonding entire wafers is a goal

Many types of semiconductors, including those for servers and games, today require packaging and bonding techniques that can only be applied to individual chips. 3M and IBM plan to develop adhesives that can be applied to silicon wafers, coating hundreds or even thousands of chips at a single time. Current processes are akin to frosting a cake slice-by-slice.

Under the agreement, IBM will draw on its expertise in creating unique semiconductor packaging processes, and 3M will provide its expertise in developing and manufacturing adhesive materials.

Atmel Launches Industry's First LIN Transceivers in DFN Packages to Enable Smaller Footprint

Atmel single- and dual-LIN transceivers offer smaller packaging and wettable flanks to enable overall lower system cost

HEILBRONN, Germany, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel® Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML), a leader in microcontroller and touch solutions, today announced the availability of two stand-alone LIN (local interconnect network) transceiver ICs in DFN packages. Compared to standard SO8 packages at 5mm x 6.5mm, the DFN14 package for the ATA6670 measures at 3mm x 4.5mm, while the DFN8 package for the ATA6663 measures at 3mm x 3mm, saving about 75 percent of the overall PCB area. Space and cost savings are critical for LIN bus networking applications such as automotive body electronic systems, including door modules, seat control, intelligent sensors or powertrain applications. Since both DFN packages are pin-compatible, customers can use either the single- or the dual-LIN transceiver on the same PCB design without any changes.

Atmel is the industry's first company to provide LIN DFN packages with wettable flanks that make solder joints visible. This feature enables the use of automated optical inspection (AOI) tools during final quality tests at the system manufacturers' production line, which eliminates the need for X-ray inspections to therefore avoid cost-intensive tool investments. In addition, the wettable flanks enable improved soldering performance for temperature cycling.

Similar to all Atmel LIN family members, the new LIN devices are manufactured using Atmel's high-voltage BCD-on-SOI process, also known as SMART-I.S.(TM) technology, which is optimized for operations up to 40V for applications in harsh automotive environments. The results of manufacturing on the SMART-I.S. technology is industry-leading EMC robustness (EMC test and conformance test LIN2.1, Europe, and SAE J2602-2, US), and excellent ESD protection (exceeding 6kV).

Samples of the ATA6670 and the ATA6663 are available now. Pricing starts at USD $0.45 (ATA6663) and USD $0.90 (ATA6670) for 10,000-piece quantities. To simplify and speed-up design-ins, evaluation kits are available for both devices starting at USD $50.00.
