Cheetah Technologies Announces V-Factor Stream Probe QAM LD; Most Advanced Three-Tuner QAM Monitoring Solution for Cable Industry
PITTSBURGH, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheetah Technologies, LP, a leader in network performance and video quality management solutions, today announced immediate availability of the cable industry's first three tuner video QAM monitoring solution, dramatically expanding accuracy and scalability to monitoring of digital video QoE with CableCard decryption.
The V-Factor® Stream Probe QAM LD uniquely combines a three-tuner QAM device with CableCard Decryption and Cheetah's V-Factor video quality monitoring technology including "Intelligent Decode" to enable cable system operators to verify video quality at the hub site just before the programs are transmitted to the home. The V-Factor Stream Probe QAM LD (VF-SP QAM LD) enables operators to cost effectively scale QAM monitoring in the hub site of both commercial and residential video services.
"With its dedicated three tuners and decryption capability, V-Factor Stream Probe QAM LD offers operators the unique ability to automate QoE monitoring in the cable plant," said Jeremy Bennington, Vice President & General Manager of Cheetah V-Factor. "In combination to V-Factor solutions in the headend, VF-Stream Probe QAM LD provides the visibility necessary for operators to decide when dispatching a technician is required, dramatically decreasing the cost of isolating and resolving quality issues."
VF-SP QAM LD maximizes monitoring coverage through a smart and flexible scheduling algorithm assigning the channel lineup across units and tuners, while ensuring that users retain control over tuner usage for troubleshooting purpose. These results are then aggregated in Cheetah Q-Advisor and correlated amongst VF-SP QAM LD devices and IP-based V-Factor solutions, providing an end-to-end view of video quality of experience. Cheetah Q-Advisor offers numerous ways for Network Operations Center (NOC) technicians to visualize the network and service status from status pages presenting events ranked according to their impact on subscribers, to geographical views or remote streaming to the NOC of the video received at the cable plant.
Cheetah's V-Factor portfolio featuring the V-Factor Stream Probe and the V-Factor Source Monitor are leading QoE solutions that not only monitor network QoS type metrics and impairments, but also video compression and visual quality using V-Factor's Human Vision System, allowing operators to detect and prioritize repair activities on what matters most to their subscribers and reduce the overall cost of delivering a superior video experience to end-users.

Ekahau Introduces new Wi-Fi Capacity Tools to Plan Networks for Multiplying Tablets and Smartphones
Updated Ekahau Site Survey and New Ekahau DBx Pro Spectrum Analyzer Aid in the Design and Optimization of Wi-Fi networks with Increased Capacity Demands
Unlike other Wi-Fi (WLAN) planning and administration tools, the latest
version of ESS takes the capacity of the Wi-Fi network fully into
consideration. ESS accurately analyzes the network capacity based on the
number of Wi-Fi devices, and the applications run on them. This is essential
for today's networks where a growing number of Wi-Fi-enabled smartphones,
laptops and tablet devices require ever-increasing network capacity.
When designing a Wi-Fi network for data, voice, or RTLS, to support a
large number of wireless devices, ESS will suggest a more dense access point
placement. When analyzing a network, ESS now will display areas of sufficient
or insufficient capacity. ESS also provides in-depth troubleshooting
analysis, showing the number of associated clients per access point and
displaying areas where too many voice calls will be placed simultaneously via
a single access point.
"In the era of smartphones and tablets, the question for Wi-Fi network
administrators is not just about coverage anymore, it's about capacity," said
Jussi Kiviniemi, director of Product Marketing at Ekahau. "With our latest
version of ESS, network administrators can be sure that their Wi-Fi network
is capable of handling current and future capacity demands. This addition
expands the growing list of ESS' unique features, which already include
real-time location system (RTLS) integration, hybrid site surveys and an
Android network analysis application."
The new Ekahau DBx Pro Spectrum Analyzer allows the user to detect,
identify and locate interference issues in Wi-Fi networks with ease. DBx Pro,
which replaces the previous DBx Spectrum Analyzer, offers significant
improvements, such as interference classification, a device finder and a
redesigned user interface.
Ekahau Site Survey 5.5 and Ekahau DBx Pro Spectrum Analyzer are available
now from via the Ekahau website (http://www.ekahau.com/) and through Ekahau's
certified distribution partners.

No More Clicking Noise! Get rid of the Useless Sound of a Clicking Mouse
NIEUWERKERK AAN DEN IJSSEL, The Netherlands, March 29, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- The Nexus Silent Mouse SM-7000B is an advanced 2.4G wireless optical
mouse without the annoying clicking-noise and it connects to your PC, MAC or
laptop with a super small nano receiver.
Patented Silent Switch technology
The switches Nexus uses for the Silent Mouse are patented and lack the
"click" sound when you press them. "You will be amazed how much more relaxing
it is when you get rid of this useless sound," says Michael van der Jagt of
Nexus Technology. "We have many tv and radio studio customers that have been
pushing us for this product and we notice that it is appreciated by home and
office users also." Van der Jagt refers to the fact that PC's in the past
were not very fast and you needed the confirmation that you have clicked on
an icon, because it could take a few seconds before you would see the result.
Nowadays PC's show a graphical reaction of your click immediately and today's
tablet solutions do not provide a confirmation by sound at all. The clicking
sound lost its function, so why not get rid of it?
Comfortable shape and material
The Nexus Silent Mouse has a comfortable size and is an excellent mouse
for desktop use. But also for laptop users it is very suitable. Especially
because of the small nano receiver which you plug in a USB port and leave it
there. It is so small that you do not need to take it out. You just forget
it's there. Furthermore the mouse has a quality surface treatment so it feels
good in your hand.
DPI selection button
On top of the mouse is a convenient 1000/1600 DPI selection switch to
alter the mouse speed. Fast when you need speed and slow when you need
accuracy.
Demonstration
With this video Nexus tries to give you an idea about the sound
difference compared to a regular mouse. The test is not done in a anechoic
chamber so the dB(A) values are just for comparison reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo_Q5ycbkJc

CA Technologies Offers RSA SecurID® Customers Opportunity to Trade their RSA Tokens for CA ArcotID Secure Software Credential
RSA Token Trade-In Program Gives RSA Customers a Secure, More Flexible and Convenient Option for Advanced Authentication
ISLANDIA, N.Y., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CA Technologies (Nasdaq: CA) is offering all RSA SecurID® token customers an opportunity to trade their RSA tokens for CA ArcotID secure software credentials in a one-for-one swap.
For each RSA SecurID token, CA Technologies will provide a three-year enterprise license for the CA ArcotID software credential, including the CA Arcot WebFort authentication server. The only cost to the customer making the switch is maintenance. The program is in effect until Sept. 30, 2011.
"Hardware tokens are a security mechanism whose time has expired. The inconvenience of carrying an additional key fob or device for today's increasingly mobile workforce is not practical, and the difficulty of remediation in case of a hardware token breach can be overwhelming," said Ram Varadarajan, general manager for CA Arcot Security Solutions, CA Technologies. "For the past 13 years, the Arcot technology has delivered advanced authentication using secure software credentials as a proven alternative to hardware tokens. CA ArcotID, with nearly 30 million users, offers increased flexibility and simplicity of deployment, without sacrificing security."
There are significant advantages to using the CA ArcotID secure software credential versus standalone hardware tokens for advanced authentication:
-- Simple deployment and management - The CA ArcotID software credential
can be easily and securely downloaded and deployed using patented
cryptographic camouflage technology. This is more efficient than a
hardware token which must be manufactured, physically distributed to the
customer site, and then delivered to the end-user. In addition, in the
event of a security breach, a software-based authentication approach
provides a speed advantage by allowing organizations to immediately
reset the credential. Users would then self-provision a new, and
potentially larger, private key the next time they log in. If a hardware
token is compromised, the situation could require deploying a new token,
which would require the vendor's assistance and could be a costly,
time-consuming and inefficient process.
-- Flexibility - The CA ArcotID software credential works across multiple
applications and environments, and it scales to support millions of
users. Organizations also have the flexibility to store the CA ArcotID
software credential on any supported client device, such as a PC,
notebook, tablet device or smartphone.
-- Uncompromised Security - The CA ArcotID software credential combines a
standard x.509v3 digital certificate with patented cryptographic
camouflage private key concealment technology to allow users to
authenticate securely. In addition, each organization creates, manages
and stores its own private keys for all its CA ArcotID users. CA
Technologies holds no information about any individual software
credentials, thereby reducing the risk of compromising customer data.
Customers who take advantage of this offer can benefit from a Rapid Implementation Service that includes basic workflows and templates for downloading the credential and server, and setting up a typical configuration. If a customer requires a more customized implementation, additional services are available from CA Technologies or its partners.
CA Technologies will host a Webcast, "SecurID® Breach: Restoring Strong Authentication for Your Applications," on Wednesday, March 30 at 1 p.m. ET. Jim Reno, principal security architect, CA Technologies, will discuss authentication best practices and ways to help reduce risk and secure your authentication process. Register for the Webcast at http://www.ca.com/us/lpg/forms/na/sre/26033_29603.aspx.

Future of Advertising: Convergence of Mobile and Digital Interactive Out of Home Offers New Solution for Ad Agencies
New interactive advertising medium represents marriage of digital and mobile technologies
TORONTO, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Two of the fastest growing advertising mediums today - mobile and digital out-of-home (DOOH) - confirm that brands and agencies are shifting budgets from traditional advertising to digital and interactive channels that provide immediate interaction and measurement.
Helping drive this trend is Toronto-based media company iSIGN, with a new advertising technology being rolled out to agencies across North America. The company's interactive marketing solution (IMS 3.0) marries mobile interactions with digital advertising, resulting in a medium known as proximity marketing. Not a sign or a text-based advertisement, iSIGN's interactive marketing solution creates interactions with consumers' mobile phones, delivering content at moments of maximum influence. Consumers within a certain range (from 3 to 300 feet) of a retail presence receive relevant and welcome offers through their Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices. Today, more than 90% of phones include this feature.
Signs that talk and interact
By targeting consumers when they are in store and primed to buy, advertisers can deliver branded content that is contextually relevant, encouraging consumers to take action at point of sale. Messages can range from product coupons and promotions, videos, music, movie trailers, and other rich-media content. "With technology that allows digital signs to 'talk and interact' with mobile devices that are in proximity, advertisers can deliver relevant incentives at exactly the right time," said Alex Romanov, CEO of iSIGN. "It represents a powerful union of digital and mobile technologies."
A new advertising medium for 2011 and beyond
According to a Magna Global ad forecast, mobile and DOOH are currently the second and third fastest-growing advertising mediums, with mobile projected to grow 19.4% from 2011 to 2016, and DOOH projected to grow 15.2%. Optimizing the benefits of both mediums, iSIGN's interactive marketing solution is the next step in advertising technology that is currently being tested by convenience store chains, entertainment companies and sporting arenas across North America.
Developing valuable business intelligence
iSIGN's interactive marketing solution increases the effectiveness of static forms of advertising by being able to quantify and collect detailed information about consumers. With market research being a central component of any advertising strategy, iSIGN's solution unifies the message delivery and the information collection - essentially conducting market research at the same time that it is delivering targeted messaging to consumers. Advertisers have access to data in real-time that reports which campaign and messaging is working, and which isn't.
Interactive advertising at the right place, right time, without the guesswork
iSIGN says that its solution brings measurability and interactivity to both mobile and DOOH, without any guesswork. Advertisers will see a dramatic transformation from simple digital signage displays that have been impossible to measure in the past, to fully measurable interactive experiences at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising or even standalone mobile marketing efforts - a huge benefit for agencies looking for more effective channels but with smaller budgets.
"The drawbacks of digital outdoor signage have been the lack of metrics to measure consumer response and its overall lack of interactivity: our new technology allows advertisers to transform their digital signage into interactive consumer touchpoints with consumers mobile devices, and capture data and measure consumer responses in real-time, while they shop," says Romanov. "Combined, these channels represent the greatest single opportunity for increased revenues and a new advertising base capable of interactively capturing shopper and business intelligence."

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ20/ZS10 and DMC-FT3/TS3 features a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) function allowing geotagged images to be pinpointed via POI data supplied by NAVTEQ. As such, images can be shared with friends and families easily. "Digital cameras and camcorders is one of the newest areas in which location is being leveraged to enhance the device experience. Walkinside provides the 3D Virtual Reality expertise and presentation layer capability for the producing asset engineering infrastructure linking and publishing data bases, process simulations and real-time sensor data into the 3D model from other applications vendors and partners participating in the Microsoft Upstream Reference Architecture Initiative.
Operators can effectively review sensor historian data and trends associated with critical plant equipment, and anticipate and resolve abnormal behavior to address asset integrity threats and adverse sequences of events during production. The Walkinside-PI solution is developed on an open .NET-compliant integration platform that helps consolidate information, processes and applications used for operation, maintenance, safety and operator training of major upstream assets.
"VRcontext's support for the MURA initiative is evidence of its commitment to standards and to the development of an open common industry framework for asset team collaboration and efficient work processes, delivering real value to information across the entire oil and gas supply chain and the asset life cycle management," said Marc de Buyl, managing director of VRcontext LLC in Houston.

"The oil and gas industry needs a common platform that will serve as the 'unifying language' and a force for IT integration and products and solutions interoperability to achieve major productivity gains," said Ali Ferling, managing director, Worldwide Oil & Gas Industry for Microsoft Corp. its value becomes. The objective is to become the richest real estate owner
The Open Call Contest consisted of four categories: HTML5, Social Good,

about the app "Engagement and Monetization are the core of our value
proposition. The Metropolis game delivers all the opportunities both brands
and mobile operators require to increase their bottom line, while remaining

in 2010. The game ran for three months and was accompanied by TV, print, web
& mobile promotions. 20% of Israeli Smartphone users (across all networks)
downloaded and played the game and approximately 100,000 coupons and

AMETEK Extends Industry Leading Sorensen SG Series of High-Power DC Supplies
SAN DIEGO, March 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AMETEK Programmable Power has expanded its Sorensen SG Series of programmable precision high-power DC power supplies with four new output voltage offerings of 10Vdc, 15Vdc, 20Vdc and 30Vdc to add to its current range of 40Vdc to 800Vdc. These lower voltage units have output power specifications ranging from 4kW to 15kW. The 20Vdc model, for example, can supply up to 750 A in the standard 3U package, while the 10Vdc, 12kW unit can deliver up to 1,200A in the same 3U form factor.
Other industry-leading features of the expanded output voltages of Sorensen SG Series include:
-- Industry leading voltage and current slew rates, both up and down
programming
-- Improved power factor correction (PFC), with 3-phase 208, 400 and
440/480 Vac input with the standard unit supporting both 50/60 Hz and
400 Hz AC input frequency
The SG Series is one of the most popular DC power supplies on the market with more than 10,000 units in the field. The SG Series already leads the industry in power density, delivering up to 15kW in just 3U. Depending on the output voltage, one to six modules can be configured in a single chassis to deliver 5kW to 30kW of power; these can easily be paralleled to achieve up to 150kW of total power.
All of the models in the SG Series are available with either Sorensen General-purpose Intelligent (SGI) control or Sorensen General-purpose Analog (SGA) control.
Units with SGI control combine onboard intelligent controls with the outstanding power electronics common to all SG Series supplies. These controls enable sophisticated sequencing, constant power mode and save/recall of common setups, making the SGI ideal for repetitive testing using complex or compliance waveforms. An impressive vacuum fluorescent graphical display in eight languages, context sensitive "soft" keys and front panel keyboard simplify programming of the SGI.
Units with SGA control are designed for users who require simple front panel analog controls or remote analog control. With the same high performance power electronics as the SGI, the SGA provides essential features like 10- turn potentiometers for setting voltage and current, 3-1/2 digit LED readout plus front panel OVP preview/adjustment and reset.
Units with SGI control come with standard analog control and an RS-232C port. GPIB/IEEE 488.2 and LXI Ethernet ports are optional. Units with SGA control come standard with remote analog control and can be fitted with an RS-232C port, a GPIB/IEEE 488.2, and an LXI Ethernet port as optional features.
Availability
Depending on output voltage, delivery is 4-8 weeks.

Memberships will be mass marketed in bulk to large organizations, associations, unions, churches, and networks by employing a variety of business to business strategies, each designed to benefit the organization offering the memberships, as well as the organization's network of members, employees or customers, who receive the savings benefits through access to Net Savings Link membership base. As members begin to generate savings benefits from the website, Net Savings Link will simultaneously monetize transactions from shared back end revenues with host organizations, end user membership fees, individual product purchase turnovers, and commissions generated from the vast array of affiliate partners that are digitally connected, who provide substantial discounts to Net Savings Link users.
