Penned by acclaimed Marvel comic book writer Dan Slott, the story takes players on a mission to restore the magical energy of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which has been shattered and scattered across parallel universes. New Transformers(TM): War for Cybertron Downloadable Content Pack Available Now
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 7 -- The battle for CYBERTRON continues as Activision Publishing, Inc. CriticalBlue, a pioneer in embedded multicore software analysis,
exploration and verification tools, announced today immediate support for the
Dual V850E2M Core architecture by Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE:
6723), the world's number one supplier of microcontrollers, within
CriticalBlue's Prism product. Software developers will now be able to analyze
their existing software applications and quickly assess the tangible benefits
of migrating to Dual V850E2M Core platforms.
This announcement continues the deepening of Prism capabilities to enable
leading multicore vendors such as Renesas Electronics to provide an ecosystem
to their customers which clearly demonstrates the differentiation of the
V850E2v3 architecture when running customers' own software applications on
Dual V850E2M Core platforms. Prism is an award winning Eclipse-based embedded
multicore programming system which allows software engineers to easily assess
and realize the full potential of multicore processors without significant
changes to their development flow. Prism analyzes the behavior of code
running on hardware development boards, virtual machines or simulators. It
allows engineers to take their existing sequential code, and before making
any changes, explore and analyze opportunities for concurrency. Having
identified the optimal parallelization strategies in this way, developers
implement parallel structures, and use Prism again to verify performance
efficiency and thread-safe operations.
The Renesas Electronics Dual V850E2M Core platform is an asymmetric
multi-processor (AMP) architecture containing two 32-bit CPUs. Each core has
local RAM (no wait state) and access to shared RAM of the other core, plus
overall shared RAM (with wait states). There is shared flash for both cores,
and each core has a flash cache which acts like an instruction cache. In the
AMP style programming model, tasks are statically allocated between cores.
Data must be allocated to use efficiently and minimize wait states. For the
Dual V850E2M Core platform, each core can run a real-time operating system,
and message passing may be used. CriticalBlue's development on this platform
marks the first support of an AMP architecture for the Prism product.
CriticalBlue has adapted Prism to support Renesas Electronics" architecture
and the accompanying programming model by providing software execution trace
visualization, allowing the software programmer to see activity on, and
inter-communication between, both of the V850 cores in the system. The user
can then reallocate data or tasks between cores, and Prism will calculate a
schedule including timing changes for synchronizations.
Support for analyzing and optimizing code that contains interrupt support
routines (ISRs) is also an expanded feature for Renesas Electronics' Dual
V850E2M Core platform Prism. Contained in the solution is the capability to
discover the data dependencies between ISRs and the rest of the customer's
software program. Details of when an interrupt occurs and the resulting
behavior can be viewed in Prism's analysis environment, providing valuable
feedback to the software programmer that would otherwise be extremely
difficult to visualize. Ultimately, Prism provides to the user an estimate of
the performance gain achievable by partitioning their program into multiple
tasks and targeting the Dual V850E2M Core architecture.
Described analysis can be done on an existing unmodified software
application running on Renesas Electronics' instruction set simulator.
Experienced multicore software programmers will benefit from Prism's
capabilities in the area of performance tuning and general multicore code
optimization.

High performance architecture
The CEVA-X1643 DSP features a Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) architecture combined with Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) capabilities. Its 32-bit programming model supports a high degree of parallelism, including the ability to process up to eight instructions per cycle, and 16 SIMD operations per cycle. With a well-balanced pipeline, the CEVA-X1643 can run at over 1 GHz in chips implemented at the 40 nm technology node.
Built-in Standard AXI Bus Bridges
The CEVA-X1643 is equipped with a high performance Advanced eXtensible Interface (AXI) based memory sub-system supporting; configurable AXI bus width, parallel read and write transactions, read after write transactions and other advanced capabilities, ensuring target performance is met in a real-life system. The use of de-facto industry standard system buses together with a fully cached CEVA-X processor enables high performance, shorter design cycle and easy integration into the target SoC.
Highly energy efficient
The CEVA-X1643 DSP core includes an innovative Power Scaling Unit (PSU), which provides advanced power management for both dynamic and leakage power. The core supports multiple clock sources and power domains associated with the main functional units, such as the DSP core and the instruction and data caches. The PSU supports multiple operational modes ranging from full operation, debug bypass, memory retention, to complete power shut-off (PSO). Furthermore, the AXI full duplex busses buses offer low-power features, such as the ability to shut down when no data traffic is present. The CEVA-X1643 offers significant energy savings for both battery-operated and stationary devices, a critical factor in an increasingly energy conscious world.
Seamless migration path for TI C6x based designs
The CEVA-X1643 supports easy migration from off-the-shelf DSP chips to incorporating DSP cores into customer SoC designs. The combination of a compiler-friendly 8-way VLIW and SIMD architecture, an advanced data cache architecture and memory management capabilities enables licensees to efficiently migrate legacy code and ensures similar DSP performance levels at a significantly lower price point.
Enriched software tool chain
The CEVA-X1643 DSP core is supported by CEVA-Toolbox, a software development, debug, and optimization environment that enables near-optimal system performance to be achieved using standard C source code. CEVA-Toolbox includes the Application Optimizer tool, which allows application developers to easily develop software purely in C-Level, thereby eliminating time consuming, hand-written assembly coding. This results in significantly better overall performance and a shorter design cycle for SoC designs. As an example, the Application Optimizer was used to implement the AMR-NB (Adaptive Multi Rate-Narrow Band) vocoder on the CEVA-X1643 DSP core and required just 18 MHz when compiled out-of-the-box (for worst-case frames and streams).

Unfortunately for American smokers, eliminating smoking alternatives like e cigarettes from the open market will force them to quit with "approved" methods or be destined to spend a fortune throughout their lives on a habit that is one of the most difficult on the planet to cease.

first in the industry to enhance its router security to a higher level of
protection by incorporating both CAPTCHA and DNSSEC to guard against hacking,
worms, viruses and other malicious Web attacks.
DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a suite of Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) specifications that adds security to the Internet's Domain Name
System (DNS) to provide assurance that the information received from a Domain
Name Server is authentic. The security extensions are designed to protect the
DNS from man-in-the-middle and cache poisoning attacks, which can occur when
hackers corrupt DNS data stored on recursive name servers to redirect queries
to malicious sites.
DNSSEC applies digital signatures to DNS data to authenticate the data's
origin and verify its integrity as it moves across the Internet and can
provide users with effective verification that their applications, such as
Web or email, are using the correct addresses for servers they want to reach.
In mid-2009, D-Link integrated Completely Automated Public Turing test to
tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) into its popular home and small
office routers to thwart worms designed to access a router and alter the
victim's DNS records to divert traffic toward the attacker's network.
CAPTCHA is a challenge-response test that ensures that a response during
a user logon is not computer-generated but instead is truly entered by a
human hand, by requiring a user to manually enter a small amount of text
displayed in an image to help prevent automated registration and fraud.
By incorporating both DNSSEC and CAPTCHA initiatives, D-Link(R) routers
now facilitate strong security thus protecting Internet users against
man-in-the-middle, cache poisoning and other cyber attacks to ward off web
hacking and phishing.

is more difficult to be compromised due to our advanced set of security

taken the initiative to implement both CAPTCHA and DNSSEC into our routers,

IPv6 Certification
To further consider security while future-proofing its routers, D-Link is
migrating to IPv6 certification. With the growing number of Internet-capable
devices on the market - including mobile, media, and storage - the pool of
IPv4 address has dropped to six percent and is expected to run out sometime
in 2011. While this is a major motivation for IPv6, other improvements are
also realized. The IPv6 specification now specifies certain security measures
that were not defined in IPv4, such as IPSec. IPSec is a method of
authenticating and encrypting data transferred between pairs of hosts.
Although it was possible to implement IPSec with IPv4, it was not part of the
specification. IPSec is now a requirement, not an option, in the IPv6
specification.
D-Link has begun the transition to IPv6 by participating in the 'IPv6
Logo Testing Program' to assure that its products support transitional
technologies and provide IPv6 connectivity. All new D-Link routers currently
ship with the "IPv6 Ready Phase II" certification and logo.

The films will be initially available exclusively as DVDs through Tesco stores, online, and through Tesco Direct.
The first film out on DVD, 'Paris Connections', is being produced with legendary best-selling author Jackie Collins, whose 27 New York Times bestsellers have collectively sold over 400 million copies worldwide.
'Paris Connections' which was produced in France, is released on DVD exclusively at Tesco stores from 6 September.

Stardoll and Random House Launch Interactive Virtual Story for Teens
STOCKHOLM and LONDON, September 6, 2010-- Stardoll, the world's largest virtual entertainment and social

today announced a partnership with Random House Children's Books to deliver
Mortal Kiss, an innovative virtual story aimed at teens. Mortal Kiss is the

Mortal Kiss is a paranormal mystery created in collaboration between
writers and editors at RHCB and artists and programmers at Stardoll, crafting
everything from plot and personas to virtual environments, illustrations and
wardrobes; building a synergy between the reading experience and the
interactive features of the website. Mortal Kiss will be serialized globally
via the Stardoll website over an 8-week period from the 6th of September
until Hallowe'en. The story will deliver 3-5 minutes of reading material
daily, building to a cliffhanger every week. Going beyond an ebook
experience, Stardoll members are invited to shape the story as it is told -
to have a voice, create images, shop for items from the story and get
involved with the story's outcome.
The story will be told through an interactive book and map of
Winter Mill, a fictitious town in New England. The four main characters (Liz,
Faye, Finn, and Lucas) will have character Stardolls, complete with profiles
and outfits to dress up in - all drawn from the events of the story. The main
story hub will be the place for Stardoll users to catch up with Mortal Kiss,
gathering all the events into one central locale and providing back-story as
the mystery unfolds.
The project will also include writing contests with themes
from within the book and will ask members to vote on plot points, encouraging
teens to read and involving them in the creative writing process at the start
of the school year.

LG 3D HDTVs Set Up at Stadium for 3D Broadcast of Boise State vs. Virginia Tech
LANDOVER, Md., Sept. 3 -- As Virginia Tech and Boise State face off Monday night in the first NCAA® college football game broadcast in 3D, LG Electronics USA and Best Buy are joining forces to bring the 3D experience to college football fans at FedExField(TM).
