Full Function LED Driver IC For Automotive Interior Lighting
150mA Linear LED Driver with Push-Button Input Combined with Courtesy Signal
MILPITAS, Calif., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISSI), a leader in advanced memory and analog IC solutions, today announced a single chip solution for automotive interior lighting. The IS32LT3175 is a feature-rich AEC-Q100 (Automotive Electronics Council) certified linear LED driver enabling reduced BOM count for low-cost and compact designs. The IS32LT3175 integrates a single channel LED driver with a programmable 150mA current source, push-button control, courtesy signal input and integrated programmable fade-in/fade-out lighting control. The device is designed for use in LED-based map lights, dome lights, door lights and other automotive lighting applications.
The IS32LT3175 integrates all functions, eliminating the need for a microcontroller and several discrete components. Individual resistors are all that is required to adjust the LED current from 10 to 150mA as well as the fade up/down ramp speed; there is no software programming required. The LED driver can be controlled by either a momentary contact switch or a courtesy signal input. An integrated debounce and latch circuit conditions the switch input so a single press of the mechanical switch does not appear like multiple presses.
Key features and benefits of the IS32LT3175 include:
-- Reduced BOM: LED driver with theatrical dimming in one small 8 pin SOP
package resulting in 65% less components requiring less printed circuit
board area.
-- Linear LED Driver: Low-noise, low-EMI, linear current source adjustable
from 10~150 mA into one or more LEDs.
-- Switch Input: Integrates switch debounce and latching logic to enable
use of low cost momentary contact switch. The switch On/Off state is
held during start-stop operation when voltage drops below 6V for a short
period of time.
-- Local or Remote: Can be controlled remotely by the automobile's
microcontroller or locally with a momentary contact switch. The local
switch has priority over the remote microcontroller providing the user
with direct control of the LED lamp.
-- No Microcontroller: Advanced LED performance can be adjusted with simple
resistors, eliminating the need for a microcontroller.
-- AEC-Q100: Meets stress testing specifications making it suitable for use
in the harsh automotive environment with guaranteed operation from
-40°C to +125°C.
The Automotive Lighting market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.22% from 2016 to 2021 and reach USD 29.53 billion by 2021 according to market reports. LED is the fastest growing technology in automotive lighting market since it is energy efficient, lightweight and compact. These attributes are responsible for the fast growth and increased adoption in autos worldwide. "IS32LT3175 is a feature rich LED Driver which is robust and easy to design with," said Ven Shan, VP of Analog Products at ISSI. "This unique product is precisely what premier auto makers are looking for in their Map lights, Dome lights and other interior LED lighting designs to replace bulky incandescent bulbs for improved light efficiency and sleek designs."
The device also integrates protection features, such as open and short LED fault detection, thermal rollback and thermal shut down to increase system longevity and reliability. The LED current remains at the configured level as long as the junction die temperature of the IC remains below 145°C (typical). If the die temperature exceeds this threshold, the output current of the device will begin to reduce at a rate of 3%/°C. The device will enter thermal shutdown if the die temperature exceeds 175°C.
Tools and support
Engineers can quickly and easily evaluate the performance of the IS32LT3175 with an evaluation board (EVB). Contact ISSI for details on how to obtain.
Packaging and Pricing
The IS32LT3175 is available in either of two options depending on the polarity of the incoming courtesy signal. The IS32LT3175P is for applications requiring a "positive going" courtesy signal, while the IS32LT3175N is meant for interfacing with "negative going" courtesy signals. Both versions are offered in a RoHS-compliant thermally enhanced SOP-8EP package. Pricing for both the IS32LT3175P and IS32LT3175N is $0.50 per unit in 10,000 unit quantities. IC samples and evaluation boards can be ordered through ISSI's global sales team and worldwide distribution partners.

Fuel gauging can be difficult because battery voltage varies with temperature and load, while coulomb-counting requires sophisticated compensation to eliminate offset accumulation errors. Maxim's ModelGauge m5 fuel gauges include a sophisticated algorithm that converts raw measurements such as battery voltage, current, and temperature into accurate state-of-charge (SOC%), absolute capacity (mAhr), time-to-empty, and time-to-full (while charging), all of which improve the user experience of the host device while enabling maximum run-time. To ease the design process, the ModelGauge m5 EZ configuration eliminates the time and resource-consuming characterization process for a large number of battery types. In addition, Maxim's ModelGauge m5 fuel gauges are the industry's first to integrate SHA-256 for secure authentication to prevent battery clones.
Battery packs generally need to be replaced every few years--when batteries age, their characteristics change over time and no longer provide adequate run-time. The ModelGauge m5 robust algorithm detects the smallest changes in the capacity of the battery to more accurately predict how long the battery will last before the capacity degrades rapidly. With the Cycle+(TM) age forecast information from ModelGauge m5 fuel gauges, system designers are able to adjust charger parameters to extend the battery life, or to plan a timely replacement of the battery. Maxim's ModelGauge m5 portfolio of products are ideal for any rechargeable battery operated device, such as wearables, drones, tablets, smartphones, and other IoT applications.
Key Advantages
-- Fast time to market: No battery characterization or calibration required

minimizing the use of the buttons on the side of the glasses.
Such intuitive and hands-free functionality is set to benefit manufacturing, logistics,
technical services, medical and other professional fields.
This modified Lumus DK-50 will be showcased at Augmented World Expo(TM) (AWE) June 1-2,
2016 in Santa Clara, California.

"The ability to superimpose information and instructions onto real objects gives the
wearer the benefit of at-a-glance, attention-based information. In the workplace this
could be cargo instructions, patient health data, or machine performance analysis," said
Christian Villwock, Director of SMI's OEM Solutions Business.
"Given the augmented reality market is set to be as big as the smartphone market in
5-10 years, we see a wealth of opportunities beyond this collaboration," he added.
Chief Product Officer at Lumus Ltd, Eli Glikman said: "Lumus is always looking for
innovative ways to improve the AR experience. Beyond further breakthroughs in our
waveguide technology, working with partners like SMI on integrating their market-leading
eye-tracking solution is a perfect example of the type of cooperation between two leading
innovators that can push the needle further toward mass adoption of augmented reality." Â
Key to a good AR experience is the individual stereoscopic accuracy with which
information is overlaid onto viewed objects. Eye tracking is indispensable in this regard,
enabling correct depth perception and in turn, crisp 3D objects.
SMI's collaboration with Lumus is yet another example of its eye tracking integrating
with wearable technologies
[http://www.smivision.com/oem-eye-tracking/products/augmented_reality_smartglasses_eye_tracking/index.html ]
to create a vastly improved user experience. In the area of augmented
reality SMI eye tracking has previously been added to the Epson Moverio BT-200. For
virtual reality, it has been integrated into the Oculus Rift DK2, the Zeiss VR One and
most recently, the Samsung Gear VR.
Lumus (http://www.lumusvision.com) products enable the fusion of the digital and
physical world, allowing businesses and individuals to maximize the potential of augmented
reality and smart eyewear today. Lumus has developed ground-breaking technology for
see-through wearable displays via its patented Light-guide Optical Element (LOE) platform.
Lumus technology makes possible the only sleek, natural-looking form factor, wide field of
view, and true see-through performance available today. The augmented reality technology
developed by Lumus is in fact already used by leading consumer electronics and
smart-eyewear manufacturers. Health care, the military, aviation, and logistics are among
the industries that rely on Lumus alone for the optical technology underlying their
pioneering AR applications.

Wireless Monitoring Platform Transforming Patient Care Around the World
OXFORD, England, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
- Isansys [http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/apple/index.html ]Â Lifecare, a new
generation digital healthcare company, sees rapidly increasing global demand for its
Patient Status Engine wireless patient monitoring platform, as it ships more systems
to hospitals in India, Germany, Scotland and Norway
- The company's 2nd generation system, launched earlier this year, is now being used in
ground-breaking clinical work [http://www.isansys.com/en/about-us/who-we-work-with ]
around the world
- This new technology significantly enhances the user experience and provides higher
quality data enabling earlier detection of deterioration or improvement in a
patients' conditions. Healthcare providers can now analyse more patients' data in
real-time, and using the inbuilt early warning scores can track the status of their
patients at all times both in hospital and at homeÂ
Demand for real-time continuous data, including personal health information, early
warning scores [http://www.isansys.com/content2012/display_news.php?id=54 ], and alerting
when a patient's condition is deteriorating, is driving the market for complete monitoring
systems in hospital and home care settings globally.
Isansys Lifecare, the market-leader in real-time patient data capture and analysis
systems, today announced that demand for its complete, scalable, Patient Status Engine
platforms has exceeded expectations as it has shipped systems to Norway, Germany, Scotland
and India and is currently processing more orders for systems around the world.
Installation, including integration with a provider's IT system, has been designed to
be simple and fast, usually completed within one day, thus allowing providers to deploy
the system almost immediately and start collecting patient data. The objectives for each
of the providers are to improve efficiencies and to provide accurate early warning
indicators of adverse events without the additional labour costs associated with manual
observations.
Dr Line Pedersen, who is leading the work at Sorlandet Hospital Group, Norway where
Isansys has just installed a number of systems, said: "This is an important project to
improve patient safety. Through the use of the Isansys patient monitoring equipment across
our hospital, I believe we can both reduce mortality and save money. We are looking
forward to meeting our goal of delivering an exceptional patient care experience."
Keith Errey, CEO of Isansys, said: "We are delighted to be deploying our systems to
hospital and healthcare providers globally and that the value of this type of technology
is now being recognised by people all around the world - the demand has completely
surpassed our expectations. The PSE is an ideal match for a suite of healthcare solutions
and will allow each of these countries to harness a wealth of new opportunities for
improved clinical outcomes, reduced overall cost and increased revenues.
"Our scalable and low-cost technology and service models offer clear benefits that
make them uniquely suitable for these vast markets. We hope that by installing our systems
in these hospitals and communities we can empower them to provide enhanced levels of
proactive care.
"Automatic data capture addresses a whole range of issues relating to the pressures on
nurses and greatly improves in-ward efficiencies compared with manual methods, including
manual electronic observation systems. From any point of view, including cost, the PSE is
very much the future of patient monitoring."
The PSE provides a complete end-to-end platform to continuously and wirelessly capture,
collect, store and interpret vital sign and other physiological data. The Class IIA,
CE-marked platform, uses the Lifetouch, Lifetemp and other unobtrusive wireless, wearable
sensors to collect data directly from the patient. The system analyses the ECG of every
heartbeat to provide continuous heart rate, respiration rate, heart rate variability and
other cardiac parameters such as arrhythmias, and uses other sensors for continuous oxygen
saturation, PPG, blood pressure and temperature. This rich ensemble of physiological data
is analysed and simplified to allow doctors and nurses to monitor patients better, more
closely, and more efficiently. It is clinically proven to assist in early detection of
patient deterioration and helping to prevent adverse events.
The Patient Status Engine is both a medical device and a platform technology. The data
that is collected can be used to address a range of clinical needs and is not focussed on
any one condition or disease. For instance, each country where the PSE has been shipped is
using the platform to focus on different patient care pathway.
- In Norway the PSE is initially being used for automatic multiple vital sign data
collection and analysis for early warning scores for early detection of patient
deterioration Â
- In Germany, clinicians are focussed on getting the patient out of hospital in the
quickest time possible. This reduces the number of bed days for the patient and
provides an opportunity for additional income for the hospital provider Â
- In Scotland clinicians will use the PSE to look for asymptomatic atrial fibrillation
in a long term screening trial and in a separate project, to monitor premature babies.
The PSE is the only wireless monitoring system approved for paediatric use. Â
- In India, Isansys is working with a number of leading hospital groups to provide early
warning scores and other quantitative measures to improve patient outcomes, reduce
costs for patient-payers, increase revenues for providers and provide out of hospital
care. Â
Rebecca Weir, cofounder and Director of Business Development at Isansys, said: "We
developed the PSE [http://www.isansys.com/en/products/PSE ] over the last six years by
working closely with clinicians and nurses and listening to their issues and needs. It is
now really encouraging to see how much of a demand there is for the system, as clinicians
and providers in many countries are recognising that these new data driven methods are now
available for better clinical practice, improved patient care and efficiency gains across
the whole healthcare delivery spectrum."

OmPrompt Launches New 'Automated Data Extraction Automation' Solution
OXFORD, England, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
OmPrompt, the world leader in Customer Automation Management, today announced its new
'Automated Data Extraction' (ADE) solution. This new product development, combined with
OmPrompt's existing rules-based data extraction engine, offers a truly unique end-to-end
automation solution for the entire order-to-cash process.
The new ADE solution uses powerful data extraction algorithms and self-learning
cognitive processing tools to solve a common supply chain challenge directly, accurately
and promptly. This issue (having to manually process a diverse range of lower-volume
documents from the extended customer community) is currently a challenge for companies, in
both labour and time.
OmPrompt CEO, John Wakeman, explains: "The customer-facing supply chain is typically
the most challenging area because of its inherent diversity, caused by the fact that
customers 'call the shots'. Customer-prescribed data formats and processes need to be
accommodated by suppliers. OmPrompt is uniquely placed to solve this problem for
suppliers."
With the combination of OmPrompt's new ADE product offering and its existing EDI and
higher volume rules-based data extraction solutions, OmPrompt can now offer a
market-leading and unique extraction and automation solution: for any order-to-cash
process; for any data or image format; and for both high and low volumes of documents.
"We believe that this is the world's first truly combined rules-based and
self-learning extraction solution specifically designed and configured to allow companies
to automate and take control of their order-to-cash processes," said Steve Luscombe,
OmPrompt's Chief Solutions Officer.
While companies have previously been able to input data from various streams into
multiple applications - for example - using EDI or a bespoke automation tool, to input
transactions such as orders, this is the first time that a platform has been able to offer
such a full range of data input sources as part of a single automation platform.
OmPrompt combines three data input methods:
- Transaction input with semi-automated methods, via a web portal
- Fully-automated (hands-free) data capture using OmPrompt's bespoke Customer Automation
Management solution
- Existing data source input from common streams, including EDI and ERP.
OmPrompt's Customer Automation Management software solution provides a
platform-agnostic answer for data integration across the supply chain.
"This revolutionary technology has long been considered a pipe dream. However, we've
been working in the automation world for more than a decade, constantly aiming to provide
the best possible customer experience, and we now believe that our complete solution is
able to meet any data requirements in the supply chain. We're proud to be able to deliver
this service to businesses far beyond those who have typically been tempted to automate
their supply chain," said CEO, John Wakeman.
Furthermore, he adds, "While manual processes are inefficient and cause the
organisation to, effectively 'run blind', we can build in efficiency with automation so
companies can proactively optimise and digitise their order-to-cash solution. This enables
both visibility and the proactive management of the supply chain."
OmPrompt already automates transaction processing (including purchase orders, PODs,
claims, invoices, delivery notes, etc.) for some of the world's largest manufacturers in
more than 50 countries around the world. With this new level of automation, the
possibility of transferring data from any source to any other source is now a reality.
OmPrompt is the leader in customer automation management. OmPrompt helps large
companies with complex supply chains bridge gaps by eliminating the need for human
workarounds when transactional systems can't cope with diverse operational requirements
from customers.Â
OmPrompt's award-winning platform enables companies across a wide range of industries
- including FMCG, healthcare, and logistics such as Unilever, Stryker and Kimberly-Clark-
to gain competitive edge through superior customer service provided by resource freed from
back-office functions.Â
OmPrompt's managed service offers multi-format support, intelligent business rules,
master data validation and accelerated exception management to deliver the transactional
excellence enjoyed by global brands worldwide.Â
OmPrompt processes transactions in 50 countries and 6 continents and is headquartered
in Oxfordshire, UK.Â
Magic Provides Backend Integration Solution for Superior Industries' ServiceMax Mobile Field Service App
Magic xpi enables fast automation of business processes between ServiceMax and Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, to help shorten dispatch times and improve customer service

Hikvision Launches New PanoVu Series Panoramic Cameras
With ultra-high definition, 180-degree and 360-degree video and powerful Smart Tracking capabilities, the PanoVu Series from Hikvision is the most compelling argument ever for panoramic surveillance, suitable for expansive, open-area monitoring
HANGZHOU, China, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hikvision, the world's leading supplier in innovative video surveillance products and solutions, introduces its new PanoVu Series Panoramic Cameras. The cameras provide 180- and 360-degree, distortion-free, ultra-high-definition video, seamlessly integrating video from multiple sensors in one unit.
Add to this the PanoVu's powerful Smart Tracking abilities, linkage to PTZ and zooming into images at up to 36x optical and 16x digital, its user-friendly installation and configuration, and its ultra-low light performance, and the result is the best equipped high-end panoramic solution on the market.
Powerful All-in-One Design
Designed for large-scale security monitoring applications such as stadiums, city centers, airports and parking lots, the PanoVu series allows users to replace multiple cameras with one multi-sensor unit -- curtailing costs and reducing technical complexity.
The traditional surveillance solution for this type of large 180- or 360-degree scene would require several cameras and server-level video stitching software to blend the images and create a single panoramic picture. Hikvision's PanoVu Series is an all-in-one solution which integrates multiple sensors into the one unit, eliminating the need for video stitching software.
The PanoVu Cameras' all-in-one design allows only one Ethernet and one power supply cable, providing for easy installation and simple configuration. The cameras have also been designed to offer easy preview images to further aid in set-up, and to dramatically reduce maintenance times and costs.
Superior Low Light Performance
Hikvision's low-light color-imaging leads the industry in performance, and the PanoVu Series Cameras are no exception. The units all incorporate Hikvision's DarkEye super-large aperture lens, sharing the same ultra-low-light performance with Hikvision's DarkFighter Series. They are able to capture highly detailed, high resolution color images in as little light as 0.002 Lux, meaning around-the-clock, 360-degree monitoring is available - critical for high-risk locations like open public spaces in city centers.
Smart Tracking and Smart Functions
Smart Tracking means the PanoVu Cameras support a link to an additional PTZ tracking camera, enabling PanoVu's powerful zoom capabilities to magnify tiny details in the panoramic image. Smart Tracking allows the simultaneous tracking of multiple targets, in both auto and manual tracking modes. The cameras also feature a wide range of Smart functions including intrusion detection, line crossing detection, and region entrance and exit detection.
Application-specific Models
The PanoVu Series Cameras are available in 8 MP, 180-degree and 16 MP, 360-degree variants, allowing users to select the ideal model for their specific surveillance application. The 16 MP 360-degree models use 8 x 1/1.9" Progressive Scan CMOS sensors to create their panoramic images, while the 8 MP models incorporate four sensors to generate their 180-degree images. All of the PanoVu Series Cameras are IP66-rated for use in a wide variety of weather conditions and applications.
Hikvision PanoVu has won the "Golden Excellence Award" at the 15th China Public Security Expo and iF's 2016 Design Award. World 2 Win (W2W) Aims at Reviving the Online Gaming Network With Their Unique Initiative
MUMBAI, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
A group of young Mumbai-based entrepreneurs with a strong e-portfolio aims at
establishing India on the global gaming map with the launch of their passion project,
World 2 Win [http://www.world2win.net ]. Available on iOS and Android, World 2 Win gives
you the opportunity to win luxurious prizes from the comfort of your homes through a
one-of-a-kind gaming experience. The app has been developed after a thorough and careful
study of the gaming environment for over 15 months. The app has been designed to carve its
niche independent of the competitive gaming market by creating an unconventional and
rewarding framework for its consumers. The founders have strong faith in their location
agnostic approach and are dedicating their resources to make W2W the go-to gaming platform
globally, not just in India.
Opening the app takes you to a game of archery, free of charge for the consumer to
play, with rewards that range from premium electronic products to the latest gadgets to
daily luxury products. Rewards go to leaders on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.
Instead of the usual lottery that most gaming platforms use, W2W employs a judging panel
that ranks the consumers based on their skill. As a gamer, you can track your current
ranking through the app. The scale of the reward goes bigger from weekly to fortnightly to
monthly leaderboards. The founders emphasise that the key driving force behind this
project is customer satisfaction and appreciation - fulfilling the consumers' desire to
own a luxury product, free of charge.
World 2 Win's user-friendly layout is a product of consumer responses and sample
studies with a target audience ranging from 10 to 50 years of age. The Indian gaming
market did see a rise in reward-based online gaming models in the early 2000s, however the
founders believe that the differentiation of the product compared to those earlier
attempts is maintained through one key factor: simplicity. "Gamers like to preserve their
efforts for the actual game, and not waste them on the process of manoeuvring through the
app and reaching the final competition. Our app rides on this easy-to-operate model," said
Rishikesh Dixit, Director of World of Winning. Founders also stress on the importance of
one game rather than a variety of others. "We want to focus on making our archery-based
game the best in the business. Deviating from one and investing our resources on multiple
games is not the need of the hour. We would rather have one premium competition than a
hundred presentable ones," Rishikesh added. The inspiration behind archery too was linked
to the binding theme of simplicity. A sport that can be tracked to over 70,000 years
before present, an activity that was practised across regions and a basic-rule framework
that has been constant from the Palaeolithic era to now. Digitally restructuring a form
with such rich history was a concept that fascinated Team W2W.
Though conceptualised in India, Team W2W launches the app with a robust international
market plan. "The digital emergence of India was a key factor in our decision to go
international. We are committed to the Indian market 100%, for it is the congenial
environment for online ventures here that gives us the base for a global launch," said
Rishikesh Dixit. "Gaming in general works across borders. A Vietnam-based developer can
create a game that breaks the Internet in the States, the Chinese gaming market is in line
to hit the $20Â billion mark in 4 years - these are motivations for us to go global and we
have faith in our product to make the difference," he further added. Simple, rewarding and
global - World 2 Win has all the ingredients to take India-developed gaming back on the
global map. The ambitious project is available now on your app stores.
About World of WinningÂ
W2W is the idea of 5 individuals from Mumbai, who have dedicated this company to
change the reward-gaming concept in India by giving everyone a better experience. The
competitions have a maximum duration of 60 days and confirmed winners every 7th day. The
company focuses on a fair and automated judging system creating a fair environment for
individuals to compete worldwide.

Qualcomm Brings High End Wi-Fi Performance to the Mainstream With New 802.11ac Tri-Radio Platforms for Home Networks
--New Family of Tri-Radio 802.11ac Platforms Enables Superior In-Home Wi-Fi Experience--
TAIPEI, Taiwan, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced at COMPUTEX 2016, that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., launched a new family of tri-radio 802.11ac platforms designed to boost the capacity of home networks and optimize its usage to deliver better consumer Wi-Fi experiences. The new platforms are designed to bring premium Wi-Fi features, like Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) and Qualcomm® Wi-Fi SON (Self-Organizing Networks) technology into a new class of mainstream routers and smart repeaters, which will help accelerate adoption of technologies that simplify seamless connectivity.
Qualcomm Technologies' new three radio solutions combine two 5 GHz radios and a 2.4GHz radio to provide greater flexibility in the way that routers or repeaters use wireless spectrum and capacity, which can improve connectivity in a variety of network configurations. In homes using a mix of Wi-Fi technologies, the router can dedicate a radio (typically the 2.4 GHz radio) for legacy devices, which can alleviate network congestion and ensure more robust bandwidth for newer 802.11ac devices. Furthermore, when used in distributed networks, the third radio can provide a dedicated link to range extenders or help extend the range of mesh nodes.
"As people rely on their home network to support more devices accessing the internet and streaming media, Wi-Fi is being stretched to the limit," said Gopi Sirineni, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Atheros, Inc. "We are changing the game with features designed to deliver the best possible Wi-Fi experiences and now, uniquely, we are driving those technologies into more cost-effective products to extend the benefits to a wider swath of consumers."
Qualcomm Technologies is offering two new tri-radio platforms - both of which use its latest 802.11ac System-on-Chip (SoC), the IPQ40x9, which integrates the Qualcomm® Internet Processor with 2-stream 802.11ac and Gigabit Ethernet. The platforms can be combined with Qualcomm Technologies' new 2-stream 802.11ac radio, the QCA9886, to enable a new class of mainstream routers offering an unprecedented 2.2 Gbps of aggregate capacity, or its popular 4-stream 802.11ac radio, the QCA9984, to boost the capabilities of the premium routers and repeaters to up to 3.1 Gbps.
These new platforms, along with our dual-band platforms, also offer our advanced connectivity features, which had been previously aimed at the premium tier, to a wider mainstream audience. Through Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON technology, home networks are becoming simpler to install, more secure and automatically optimized. The self-configuring features make onboarding and configuring new devices, including Bluetooth devices, on a Wi-Fi network much easier. The technology also includes self-managing features, which is designed to eliminate the guesswork from allocating capacity with tri-band products by automatically shifting traffic between bands and radios depending on real-time conditions. Wi-Fi SON now supports Qualcomm Technologies' HomePlug AV2 powerline solutions, which allows for seamless roaming between a home's wireless and wired networks.
With the demands required of today's home networks, additional speed is no longer a convenience, but a necessity. Qualcomm Technologies' Wave 2 802.11ac features meet this demand through its industry-leading MU-MIMO technology to provide two to three times faster connections. It also offers support for 160 MHz channels, which doubles connection speeds at close range.
"Staying in front of innovation is a priority for us at Amped Wireless," said Jason Owen, chief executive officer, Amped Wireless. "We have been thrilled to work with Qualcomm Technologies for the past few years to bring many, long range, high power, whole-home Wi-Fi solutions to our customers. We continue to blaze the trail with them and can't wait for our next big announcements."
"As more and more devices connect to a home Wi-Fi network, it is critical to ensure consumers enjoy a seamless and joyful Wi-Fi experience," said Tenlong Deng, vice president of networking and wireless devices business unit, ASUSTEK COMPTER INC. "Qualcomm Technologies' 802.11ac Wave 2 advanced technologies and features allow us to continue to deliver a superior Wi-Fi experience to our customers."
