"Launching smartphone integrations on these existing models through MyHyundai will enhance the overall ownership experience," said Barry Ratzlaff, executive director, digital business planning and connected operations, Hyundai Motor America. "Existing owners can now get the most out of their smartphones, by simply loading new software into their cars' infotainment systems. Just a few years ago, they would have had to buy a new car to get such a powerful upgrade."
This is not the first time Hyundai has made a software upgrade available using the MyHyundai portal. Last year, Android Auto was offered to 2015 Sonata owners with Navigation via MyHyundai.com. Hyundai continues to offer a customer-focused user experience by leveraging the MyHyundai.com platform. MyHyundai.com gives customers the option to update their car for free, on their own schedule. Hyundai will continue to add value to its vehicles with easy-to-do upgrades via MyHyundai.
To complete the software upgrade, owners need their VIN number and a USB memory stick or the SD card from their Navigation system. MyHyundai.com has installation guides to walk customers through the process. In the near future, consumers will have access to do-it-yourself installation videos. The videos will be found on MyHyundai.com and the Hyundai USA YouTube channel and will include detailed download and installation instructions on the software. How-to-use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto videos also are available on MyHyundai.com and the Hyundai USA YouTube channel.
Hyundai will soon make an announcement about CarPlay and Android Auto upgrades for the following 2016 model-year vehicles equipped with Navigation: Sonata Hybrid, Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, Veloster and Azera.

CarPlay is the smarter, safer and easier way to use an iPhone(®) in the car and gives users the features they want such as Phone, Messages, Music and Maps, while allowing them to stay focused on the road.
CarPlay delivers an instantly recognizable experience to iPhone users that will help them be instantly familiar and comfortable inside their Hyundai. CarPlay support lets drivers make calls, get directions optimized for traffic conditions, listen to music and access messages. With CarPlay, Siri provides drivers an eyes-free experience by responding to requests through voice commands that are easily and directly accessed through the steering wheel's voice button. Using a Lightning connector, CarPlay works with iPhone 5 and newer models running the iOS 7.1 or higher operating systems. The CarPlay roster of supported apps can be found at the following link: http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/.
Similar to CarPlay, Android Auto helps keep drivers' eyes and attention on the road by integrating the advanced driving-related functions of the user's smartphone with the familiar centralized screen, physical controls and microphone of their car. Furthermore, the smartphone's screen becomes "locked," so drivers are not tempted to look down and interact with their phones directly, while Android Auto is in use.
Owners will need the Android 5.0 "Lollipop" operating system or later and the Android Auto companion app on their compatible phone to utilize Android Auto. A micro USB cable is required to connect the phone to the car's USB port. The first time an owner plugs his or her phone into their parked compatible Hyundai, the phone will prompt the download of the Android Auto companion app from the Google Play store. Users of Android Auto will instantly recognize familiar Android phone applications, such as Google Maps, Google Now, messaging, phone calling and Google Play Music. These applications can be controlled by voice, steering wheel controls and touchscreen. Android Auto will also offer many popular third-party audio apps, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, TuneIn, NPR, Stitcher, Slacker, Skype, TextMe and many more.
Display Audio
Hyundai's Display Audio system features a high-resolution seven-inch color touch-screen display optimized specifically for smartphone integrations and Blue Link(®). In addition, Display Audio incorporates Hyundai's latest and most innovative in-vehicle technology by offering a simple, multi-use home screen, HD Radio(®) capability, mixed AM, FM and SiriusXM presets, along with Pandora-link integration.
Additional Display Audio Features:
-- Integration with Apple's Siri Eyes Free and CarPlay
-- Functionality allows owners of compatible vehicles to use the voice
command button on the steering wheel to ask Siri questions without
taking their eyes off the road
-- Supports making calls, selecting and playing music, composing and
reading back text messages, using Maps and getting directions,
reading notifications, finding calendar information, and adding
reminders, among other functions
-- Integration with Google's voice actions and predictive Google Now
functionality through Android Auto
-- Functionality allows owners of compatible vehicles to find
destinations in Google Maps, set appointment reminders, make and
receive calls, respond to text messages with intuitive voice
commands and more
-- Pandora integration
-- SiriusXM Satellite Radio with enhanced features
-- Pause, back and play for current station
-- Automatic recording of top six presets
-- SiriusXM Travel Link

OpenLegacy API Integration Platform 3.0 Accelerates Enterprise Digital Adoption
Provides lifecycle management, security, and control for APIs across the organization
PRINCETON, New Jersey, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
OpenLegacy, the API integration platform provider, announces the availability of
Version 3.0, containing new features that enable enterprises to extend and connect any
backend system to digital consumers.
The API management console delivers the ability to control and manage APIs across the

administrators to manage the API lifecycle including analytics, versioning, caching,
security and operations of each API to further increase system efficiency.
"Enterprises can now approach legacy system extension and connection from a strategic
level, delivering customer-focused results," said Hans Otharsson, Chief Operations Officer,
OpenLegacy. Â "Our customers have already been using our platform in clever and innovative
ways and now can further expand on the flexibility and power of an API integration
strategy in lieu of other, more time consuming and complex integration approaches."

security, deployment and performance. Instead of simply providing a solution for a
specific technical problem - connecting back-end systems to new protocols, OpenLegacy now
allows the ability to create complete business solutions out-of-the-box including
everything needed to work within a customer's digital economy.
The new features include:
- The new Unified Management Console is now the primary location from which to
control the operation of the OpenLegacy platform along with full API lifecycle
management and API usage statistics.
- Additional security features greatly enhance and improve the control over the back-
end security far beyond what they previously had through authentication, access, data,
and content control.
- Enhanced deployment and performance features including one-click deployment as secure
APIs, workload balancing, deep caching, and scalable containers.

("DHX") (NASDAQ: DHXM; TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), the world's leading independent, pure-play kids' content company, have struck a global deal to develop, co-produce, distribute and jointly manage licensing for a new Mega Man(TM) animated series based upon the legendary Capcom Mega Man video game franchise. The deal was announced today by Yuichi Kinoshita, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dentsu Entertainment USA, Inc., and by Asaph Fipke, Chief Content Officer of DHX.
Under the terms of the deal, Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX will manage all global rights for the new Mega Man animated series. Distribution and licensing in the United States will be handled by DHX in collaboration with Dentsu Entertainment USA. Dentsu Inc., parent company of Dentsu Entertainment USA, will manage distribution and licensing in Asia. DHX will manage distribution and licensing in all other territories. Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX will both participate in all revenue streams related to this agreement.
DHX's Fipke, said, "We're very excited to be working with Dentsu on Mega Man. This is yet another deal born of our strategy of teaming up with leading companies on high-profile kids' brands that we can leverage across our platform of production, distribution, licensing and broadcast. We see this as an excellent opportunity to build on the rich legacy of the Mega Man video game series and introduce the famous boy robot to a whole new generation of kids worldwide."
Dentsu Entertainment USA's Kinoshita said, "Mega Man has a rare, nearly three-decade-long tradition with fans. We are excited to work with DHX to bring this newly imagined version of a long-beloved character back to the global marketplace."
Aimed at kids 6 to 9, as well as their parents who grew up loving the videogames, the animated series will feature exciting new technologies and robots, as well as the introduction of Mega Man's alter-ego, Aki Light, a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot. When activated, his skin re-forms - in a flurry of computer code and visual pyrotechnics - into a suit of impenetrable nanocore armor, including the iconic Mega Buster arm cannon and helmet. Beloved characters, like Rush, will return - while new characters, like Mega Mini(TM), will make their debut! The new Mega Man animated series has a target air date of 2017, coinciding with the franchise's 30th anniversary.
Man of Action Entertainmentare creators of the $4.5 billion franchise Ben 10, Generator Rex, the team and characters in the Academy Award®-winner Big Hero 6, and the executive producers/writers who launched Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Avengers Assemble. Man of Action will executive produce the all-new Mega Man.
Man of Action's Duncan Rouleau said, "The best thing about Mega Man is his unflinching wide-eyed optimism and an over-the-top sense of humor. This show reflects both qualities. We've got it all in here, it's hopeful, forward-leaning, action-packed... It's full-on fun ahead!"
About Mega Man
The Mega Man franchise is grounded in a series of video games, first launched in 1987 by Capcom, featuring battles fought by the eponymous blue robot protagonist and an ongoing cast of allies and enemies. The Mega Man multiverse has spawned over 130 video games on multiple gaming systems, selling over 30 million copies worldwide, as well as a plethora of toys, comics and collectibles. A highly-rated Mega Man TV series was popular in the USA in the mid-1990s and aired on ABC Family. The new animated Mega Man series focuses on a normal, upbeat schoolboy robot, who discovers that deep within his programming lies secret protocols that can transform him into the powerful Mega Man. And, as the world's first robotic super-hero, Mega Man must face the threats of Silicon City, while trying to preserve his secret identity and maintain a regular robot boy life.

Linksys First To Ship The Most Powerful Home Wireless Solutions Leveraging Next Generation Wi-Fi, MU-MIMO And Seamless Roaming
Linksys Expands its Max-Stream MU-MIMO Family with Award Winning, Industry Firsts:
- EA9500 is the First Tri-Band Router Capable of Up to 8 MU-MIMO Streams
- RE7000 MU-MIMO Range Extender is the First with Seamless Roaming
- WUSB6100M is the World's First MU-MIMO USB Adapter
PLAYA VISTA, Calif., May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Linksys®, a leader in networking solutions for the home and business and the first to ship 100 million routers, today announced the first fully functional MU-MIMO AC5400 Tri-Band Wireless Router, AC1900 Range Extender and USB Adapter. These are the first networking solutions in their category to ship with working MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple Output), the next generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac Wave 2 technology, which helps improve overall performance and efficiency of a Wi-Fi network while providing dedicated bandwidth to MU-MIMO capable client devices as if they have their own dedicated router. Linksys is the only company with five MU-MIMO products in the market today representing the largest and broadest portfolio of MU-MIMO home Wi-Fi solutions on the market.
MAX-STREAM MU-MIMO Family of New Products
According to a white paper by ABI Research The Importance Of Mu-Mimo In The Wi-Fi Ecosystem more than 84% of all wireless 5GHz chipsets will be MU-MIMO enabled by 2019. To keep up with the speeds and performance of client devices coming to market such as 4K TVs, laptops, smart phones, tablets and game consoles, consumers will want to make sure they have the latest Wi-Fi router that can support all the new devices coming into the home. Sandvine Research has reported that 70% of internet traffic in North America consists entirely of streaming video and audio content from sources like Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, iTunes, Pandora and many other sources. It was 30% five years ago.
"With the rise of bandwidth intensive activities, such as 4K streaming and online gaming, the importance of an efficient and optimized Wi-Fi network is more critical than ever," said Justin Doucette, senior director of product management at Linksys. "The Max-Stream family of products provides the broadest array of MU-MIMO capable and enabled products in the marketplace. MU-MIMO enables multiple devices to communicate with the router and/or range extender simultaneously, so the result is a faster and more reliable Wi-Fi."
Room to Room Wi-Fi leveraging Seamless Roaming Technology
With the launch of the Max-Stream AC1900 Range Extender (RE7000), Linksys is introducing Room-to-Room Wi-Fi with Seamless Roaming to the entire Max-Stream product line. New to the consumer market, Seamless Roaming brings an enterprise-level Wi-Fi experience into the home. This technology helps enable client devices to roam around the home always connected to the optimal access point, either router or range extender seamlessly without having to manually connect or lose connection. Seamless roaming works much the same way devices work in an office environment where users can move room to room, floor to floor always staying connected to the office Wi-Fi connection.
When Seamless Roaming is added to routers, range extenders and mobile devices- the mobile devices are able to switch and connect to the strongest Wi-Fi signal at all times. Users can run an uninterrupted Facetime® or Skype(TM) session on their smartphone, or watch YouTube®/Netflix® on their iPad® while moving from one room to the other without dropping the signal.
Another advantage of seamless roaming is a single network name (also known as SSID) for the entire network, making it easier to always staying connected to the best Wi-Fi signal. In traditional router and range extender pairing without Seamless Roaming, it's best to define multiple network names and manually switch clients from one network to another to optimize performance. This proves cumbersome and frustrating to many users.
"Linksys just celebrated 28 years of providing networking solutions, and with that history comes extensive knowledge of how to address consumer pain points and to make Wi-Fi more efficient in the home," said Doucette. "Room to Room Wi-Fi addresses consumer's connectivity, throughput and range issues throughout the house while leveraging standards which will future proof your network for newer client devices to seamlessly roam."

.game Domains Now Available For Registration Everywhere
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Uniregistry, Corp., a leading domain name registration services company, is pleased to announce the successful launch of the .game domain extension to the internet. .game is the first new domain extension aimed exclusively at the gaming community.
Virtually all of the leading gaming brands acquired their .game domains by the first day of the launch. For example, Blizzard Entertainment registered .game domains for its complete line of games; it acquired Warcraft, Starcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo and Heroes of the Storm domain names during the early trademark registration period, and then it picked up Overwatch.game for its brand new Overwatch multiplayer game of heroes on launch day. Likewise, Activision registered for Call of Duty, Take-Two Interactive registered for Grand Theft Auto, Microsoft registered for Minecraft, Riot Games registered for League of Legends, and Square Enix registered for Final Fantasy. Most major gaming companies acquired .game domains for each of their gaming brands.
"We're excited to bring .game to the internet," said Frank Schilling, Managing Director of Uniregistry, "and we are especially pleased to see the early adoption of the name by the world's leading gaming companies. The broad-based support of .game by the companies that make the world's most exciting and immersive form of entertainment is deeply gratifying."
Amanda Fessenden, Director of Registry Business Operations for Uniregistry, noted that registration of a new domain name is just the first step in building an online business. "While we are excited to see existing gaming companies acquire their .game domain names, we are even more excited by what will come next - the creation of websites, marketing campaigns, and games themselves built on these great domains."
Companies that make platforms for the gaming industry acquired .game names in time for the launch. Apple purchased iPad.game, AppleWatch.game and AppleTV.game, while Microsoft acquired Xbox.game and Sony Interactive registered PlayStation.game.
Individuals working in the gaming industry also picked up domain names on the first day of launch. Georgia Van Cuylenberg, a voice actor in the Final Fantasy, Star Wars, and PayDay2 gaming franchises, picked up Voiceover.Game for herself. "Voice acting for video games is an essential part of my performing career, and a specific domain like .game gives me the ability to express and showcase my level of dedication and passion for the gaming industry."
This week's global launch of .game follows a successful Early Access Period, during which domains like VR.game, play.game, i.game and board.game were registered. First day registrations included chess.game, mmorpg.game, and tabletop.game.
Schilling noted that each of these high value early registrations could become a category-defining business. "Quality domain names are the ultimate online game where winning players improve their corporations and lives as they play," said Schilling. ".game domain names are where the art of marketing intersects with computer science and the technology of the Web. This is a land rush moment in time."
.game domain names are now available at domain registration companies worldwide. For more information about this new domain extension, with links to places to buy .game domain names, please visit http://get.game.

Eye Tracking Glasses at 120 Hz in "Good Agreement" with 1000 Hz Systems, Trial Finds
TELTOW, Germany, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Q1 - Q2 beta testing yields positive assessments from leading academics
SMI's industry-first binocular, native 120 Hz eye tracking glasses
[http://www.eyetracking-glasses.com ] could prove an alternative technology to high-speed
desktop systems, a leading researcher has concluded.
This assessment aligns with positive verdicts from other academic beta testers whose
feedback, said SMI Product Manager Dr Arnd Rose, has already been used to add the
finishing touches to the product which is now shipping to customers.
In the weeks following the product announcement in February, prototype glasses (ETG
120 Hz) were provided to leaders in eye tracking research, including Prof. Ralf Engbert of
the University of Potsdam, Germany. He evaluated their potential for velocity-based
detection of saccades, the very rapid movements of the eye. In the past this has been the
preserve of high-performance desktop systems with a sampling rate of up to 1000 Hz.
Prof. Engbert concluded the 120 Hz system is "in remarkably good agreement with the
benchmark data" from 1000 Hz eye trackers.
"Statistical analyses using surrogate data indicate that saccades of all sizes above
the micro-range (i.e. mean amplitude > 1degree(s)) can be identified reliably," he wrote.
"SMI-ETG 2W system might represent an alternative technology to desktop systems for high
resolution eye-tracking research".
The glasses were also assessed by the Center in Cognitive Interactive Technology
(CITEC) in Germany, which sees benefit for real-time gaze interaction applications. "We
tested interaction scenarios and also applied latency tests," said CITEC's Patrick Renner.
"The higher sampling rate reduces the overall reaction time of the system. Improved
real-time fixation detection of the 120 Hz version also improves our gaze interaction
applications."
Mohammad Al-Naser from the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI)
works in the field of reading and image sentiment analysis. "The ETG's higher frequency
delivers smoother gaze measurements for the reading research, giving us the ability to
better analyze reading behaviour," he said.
SMI Product Manager Dr Rose said: "What encourages me most is to see that our ETG 120
Hz compares well with a published benchmark dataset obtained from a 1000 Hz desktop
system. That exceeds our expectations but supports the trend of high-end eye tracking
research going mobile."
SMI's eye tracking glasses are proven with more than 100,000 participants and are used
by leading universities around the world. First launched in 2011, the eye tracking glasses
technology builds on more than two decades of eye tracking experience by SMI.

Prof. Engbert's findings are contained in the technical report Evaluation of
velocity-based saccade detection in the SMI-ETG 2W system

RS Components Delivers Cost-effective Solutions for Industrial Motion Control
Simple solutions and upgrading parts can provide maintenance engineers with capability to keep conveyor systems working efficiently well beyond minimum guaranteed lifetimes
BEIJING, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, today announced a range of products and solutions to help companies involved in motion control applications equip and maintain systems, such as conveyors, used in diverse industries including automotive, packaging, manufacturing and production or in the chemical or food and beverage processing sectors.
Budgetary constraint is an increasingly significant factor and many companies do not always have the luxury of purchasing completely new state-of-the-art motion control systems. They are more often than not faced with the challenge of keeping ageing conveyor systems operational and have key decisions to make about maintenance and partial system upgrades.
Conveyor system maintenance is key to ensuring that the life of expensive industrial systems is extended well beyond a manufacturer's guarantee, safely and cost effectively. RS is suggesting a series of tips for maintaining these systems while keeping downtime to a minimum, including: employing maintenance engineers to repair small problems before they become large enough to affect the quality of the manufactured goods or cause expensive downtime; keeping stock of obsolete critical parts or those with long lead times; and establishing a preventative maintenance procedure with regular system audits and documentation to reduce unexpected failures.
According to Heiko Luckhaupt, Marketing Manager at RS: "In an ideal world, the latest state-of-the-art technology would always be available to producers to enable them to manufacture, process or package products and materials to the highest specifications. However, it is often the case that the technology being used currently is actually more than adequate to do the job, plus there is often no additional budget available for significant upgrades. In many circumstances, the best course of action is to keep current systems up and running for as long as possible."
RS offers a number of options from leading suppliers -- including the RS Pro range -- to provide solutions for maintaining mechanical parts such as bearings, belts, pulleys, couplings, gears, gaskets, seals, dampers, height mounts and ball transfer units, as well as pneumatic components such as adaptors, fittings and couplings. Also available are many options for maintaining electrical parts such as motors, drives, sensors, sounders, beacons, switches, cables, connectors and pushbuttons. In addition, a range of supporting materials includes tools, safety signs, first-aid equipment, personal protection equipment, lubricants and sprays.
As well as parts available in the RS Pro range, there are also motors, drives and starters from leading companies such as ABB, Eaton, Schneider Electric and Siemens. For example, the Siemens 1FK7 synchronous servomotors can be used for a wide variety of applications including machine tool drives, robots and handling systems, packaging systems and material processing machines. Replacement parts available are linear and radial bearings from companies such as SKF and IGUS, as well as DC and stepper motors, controllers and peripherals from Faulhaber. Key pneumatic components and hydraulic components are available from SMC and Parker; and conveyor belts and rollers are available from Contitech, Bosch Rexroth and Interroll.
Overall, there is a wide range of product solutions and options now available from RS to help machine and panel builders and maintenance engineers working in motion control applications to maintain their conveyor systems and deliver better production efficiency and a significantly longer system life.

RS Components Delivers Cost-effective Solutions for Industrial Motion Control
Simple solutions and upgrading parts can provide maintenance engineers with capability to keep conveyor systems working efficiently well beyond minimum guaranteed lifetimes
SINGAPORE, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, today announced a range of products and solutions to help companies involved in motion control applications equip and maintain systems, such as conveyors, used in diverse industries including automotive, packaging, manufacturing and production or in the chemical or food and beverage processing sectors.
Overall, there is a wide range of product solutions and options now available from RS to help machine and panel builders and maintenance engineers working in motion control applications to maintain their conveyor systems and deliver better production efficiency and a significantly longer system life.

technology. Building on the class-leading availability of the 1000 Series continuous
inkjet (CIJ) printers
[http://www.videojet.in/in/homepage/products/continuous-inkjet-printers.html ], these new
additions to the Videojet CIJ portfolio offer an extended life service core, which is
guaranteed to provide five years of operation from the time of installation.
Manufacturing facilities are experiencing growing pressure to streamline production
processes, reduce downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Being able
to predict when equipment will require maintenance is one way to help achieve these goals.
"Like other production equipment, packaging printers require annual maintenance to ensure
peak performance. However, the key advantage of our new CIJ printer with the Long Life
Core(TM) technology is that they offer customers simplified and predictable maintenance as
there is no planned wear part replacement required in the first five years," states
Anthony Blencowe, Global Business Unit Director of Continuous Inkjet for Videojet.
First introduced in 2007, the Videojet modular service core was a breakthrough in CIJ
technology and has been deployed successfully in tens of thousands of customer locations.
Unlike competitive printer designs, the modular service core contains all of the critical
wear parts in one field serviceable module including pump, valves, and filters. Blencowe
explains, "The Videojet Long Life Core[TM]Â design offers real benefits to the end user. In
addition to reducing the maintenance burden on our customers, the core includes on-board
intelligence for improved printer stability and better print quality." The new Long Life
Core(TM) technology builds on these advantages by extending the life of the core.
Blencowe continues, "The TCO advantages of the new Long Life Core[TM]Â technology are
clear. Depending on the specific model, a customer running a 12 hour, 6 days per week
operation will see anywhere from a 23% to 44% improvement in core longevity compared to
our earlier 1000 series models."
The new Videojet 1530 CIJ printer
[http://www.videojet.in/in/homepage/products/continuous-inkjet-printers/videojet-1530.html ]
is suitable for a broad range of marking applications and covers a breadth of line
speeds found in today's packaging environments. The advanced code assurance software
mistake-proofs operator inputs and dramatically reduces coding errors; ensuring
manufacturers get the right code on the right product time after time. In addition, the
intuitive touch screen interface provides instant access to on-screen Availability data
and fault information to fix the root cause of downtime quickly and permanently. The new
printers also offer the full range of features and benefits that the packaging industry
has come to enjoy from the Videojet 1000 Series, including CleanFlow[TM]Â print head
technology and intelligent dynamic calibration software designed to maintain consistent,
high print quality.
Blencowe concluded, "Videojet recognizes that manufacturers are striving to improve
their profitability through minimizing the cost of operation. These new models with the
Long Life Core(TM) technology deliver against this objective. Equally important, the new
CIJ printer provides the benefit of aiding predictable maintenance by eliminating the need
for planned wear part replacement in the first five years of operation."
Videojet is committed to continuous improvement of the product and services to help
customers achieve their operational objectives. As a result, 2016 will see more exciting
innovations in inkjet printing technology to deliver on this promise.

Longer Life for Flexible Electronics With Picosun ALD
ESPOO, Finland, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Picosun Oy, the leading supplier of high quality ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition)
production solutions, brings to the printed electronics market ALD equipment specifically
designed for large area flexible electronics encapsulation.
Manufacturing electronic components on flexible plastic substrates enables
light-weight, bendable, and lower cost end-user products. Flexible displays, wearable
electronics and "smart" clothes are some of the most common examples. More specific
applications can be found in medical and security industries, where advanced X-ray
detectors are being developed utilizing organic electronic components printed on plastic
foils.
Organic electronics has the potential to enable a whole new generation of products,
but one of its main drawbacks is the components' sensitivity to moisture and airborne
impurities. Ultra-thin ALD nanolaminates provide an ideal solution to this. Flexible,
invisible, and practically weightless ALD films form dense and pinhole-free encapsulation
over the components' surface, down to the smallest nanoscale details. In Picosun's new
large area ALD tools, especially developed for the needs of the printed electronics
industries, high quality ALD films can be manufactured cost-efficiently on large plastic
sheets and at temperatures low enough for sensitive organic materials.
"We have again put our extensive expertise in ALD system design to work to realize
completely novel technology for the vast market of printed electronics. Our new, large
area batch ALD systems are developed and optimized in collaboration with these industries.
Their disruptive design enables cost-efficient encapsulation of large sheets of organic
electronic components, producing sustainable, long-lived end products for consumers as
well as industries," summarizes Mr. Timo Malinen, Chief Operating Officer of Picosun.
Picosun provides the most advanced ALD thin film coating technology to enable the
industrial leap into the future, with turn-key production solutions and unmatched
expertise in the field. Today, PICOSUN(TM) ALD equipment are in daily manufacturing use in
numerous major industries around the world. Picosun is based in Finland, with subsidiaries
in North America, Singapore, Taiwan, China, and Japan, and a world-wide sales and support
network. For more information visit http://www.picosun.com.
AGC Develops Amorphous Thin Film Using Unique Sputtering Target Material
C12A7 Electride thin film contributes to efficient mass-production of large OLED panels
TOKYO, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AGC Asahi Glass (AGC) today announced it has developed a uniform amorphous thin film using a unique sputtering target material, and has started industrialization and commercial production of the material. Called C12A7 Electride, the material is essential to mass production of both the new thin film and large organic electroluminescent (EL) panels - also known as organic LEDs (OLEDs) - utilizing the film.
Currently, lithium fluoride (LiF) and alkali-doped organic materials are used as the electron injection material for an OLED display. However, these materials are unstable and are used in an unstable state, which contributes to manufacturing challenges associated with OLED. To address this problem, the AGC Group developed the more stable amorphous C12A7 Electride thin film.
C12A7 is a component of alumina cement. Its structure comprises interconnected "cages," measuring about 0.4 nanometers (nm) in inner diameter, that contain oxygen ions. C12A7 Electride was developed at the Tokyo Institute of Technology by a research group under Professor Hideo Hosono, a material scientist known for the discovery of iron-based superconductors. All of the oxygen ions in the cages are replaced with electrons, enabling the material to conduct electric current like a metal, maintain chemical and thermal stability, and be easy to handle, while retaining the characteristic of readily emitting electrons.
The amorphous C12A7 Electride thin film, which can be formed through a sputtering process [1] at room temperature using the AGC Group-developed target material, has the following unique characteristics: it is transparent in the visible range; it can emit electrons as easily as metal lithium can; and it is chemically stable even in the atmosphere. By combining this with the TFT element, which uses a transparent amorphous oxide semiconductor (TAOS), the low-driving-voltage electron transport layer can be manufactured stably and with high production yields, even when used in an OLED display with an inverted structure.
Market research firm IDTechEx forecasts the market for OLED displays will reach nearly US$16 billion this year and will grow to US$57 billion in 2026. AGC Group's Naomichi Miyakawa, Principal Manager, New Product R&D Center, Technology General Division, noted, "TAOS-TFT is suitable for driving a large OLED panel, but there was no available material that functions properly as both an electron injection layer and an electron transport layer - both of which are necessary to realize the inverted structure that makes the best of the panel's performance. With the commercialization of our C12A7 Electride material, we expect to see substantially improved production of oxide TFT-driven OLED panels."
AGC anticipates OLED panels integrating the new C12A7 Electride-based thin film to begin manufacture in the year of Tokyo Olympic Games, 2020 or earlier.
Note:
1. Sputtering process: A metal that forms a thin film is installed in a
vacuum chamber as a target, and rare gas elements (usually argon) and
nitrogen (usually derived from air) - both ionized by applying a high
voltage - are made to collide with the target. Then, atoms on the target
surface are ejected, reaching the substrate to form a film. Because the
principle is simple and various sputtering devices are available, this
method is used in a wide range of technical areas. Recently it has been
used to manufacture thin films for semiconductors, LCDs, plasma displays
and optical disks, all requiring high-quality thin films.

New "Tilt-to-Scroll" Patent Makes Your Phone's Screen Easier to See While Tilting and Panning
INNOVENTIONS awarded fifth US patent for its RotoView(TM) "smart scroll" technology
HOUSTON, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- INNOVENTIONS, Inc. has been awarded US Patent 9,348,435 for its RotoView "tilt-to-scroll" technology for mobile phone displays. The new patent, "Motion-Based View Scrolling System with Proportional and Dynamic Modes," describes a mode for proportional scrolling that allows precise scrolling within a predefined tilt rotation range.
"Our latest patent improves RotoView technology, using the new proportional scrolling mode together with the dynamic scrolling mode where tilt changes control the panning speed," said Dr. David Y. Feinstein, president and CTO of INNOVENTIONS. "This makes the screen much easier to see by eliminating the need to tilt the phone at an uncomfortable sharp angle."
"We have been actively developing RotoView and adding to our patent portfolio for over 15 years," added Feinstein. "It demonstrates our company's ongoing commitment to tilt-to-scroll technology."
RotoView is the original tilt-to-scroll technology for mobile displays found in smartphones and tablets. The first RotoView patent family has been cited as prior art in more than 380 US patents. RotoView apps, including RotoView Photo Viewer (Android, iOS) and RotoView PDF Reader (Android), use the technology disclosed in the new patent to efficiently scroll or pan large images and documents.
INNOVENTIONS' RotoView technology portfolio now includes five US patents, one European patent, and extensive API software for Android and iOS developers. INNOVENTIONS is seeking strategic partnerships with major companies to expedite development and deployment of the technology.
RotoView can be easily implemented in mobile devices that utilize the existing gyroscope and accelerometer sensors. It offers an improved user experience by allowing scrolling with one hand, as well as achieving fast scrolling of highly magnified screens. While RotoView can replace touch screen in some applications, it is designed to be well integrated with the touch screen navigation, as demonstrated in the RotoView apps.
Established in 1984, INNOVENTIONS, Inc. is a pioneer in creating electronic devices for the computer industry, including the patented RotoView tilt-based display navigation for smartphones, the Sensor Kinetics app and the RAMCHECK LX memory tester.

VITCHELO® Empowers Consumers to Embrace Sustainability With Its Line of Smartly Designed, Versatile Outdoor Gear
HOUSTON, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing the growing trend of sustainability, outdoor gear brand VITCHELO® (http://vitchelo.com/) has developed numerous products that embody respect for the natural world. The V800 Plus headlamp, for instance, is a great example of forward-thinking and sustainable product development. The headlamp helps consumers enjoy the great outdoors - or accomplish any number of tasks - all while making a minimal impact on the environment.
"Our customers have come to expect that VITCHELO® will always provide them with reliable, durable and practical gear, and we're pleased to add sustainable to that list of attributes," says Gui Laurent Verrier, Marketing Director. "When we think of sustainability, we think of the entire product lifecycle. It's more than just manufacturing processes - we aim to give consumers products that will add real benefit to their lives, and remind them of the importance and value of the outdoors."
Verrier explains how products that only see occasional use don't fit the sustainability bill. That's why multipurpose tools are nearly always superior to single-purpose tools, which can get lost in the clutter of a garage all too easily. VITCHELO® has discovered, thanks to input from its customers, that the V800 Plus - along with the company's other headlamps - has a multitude of uses that its designers didn't necessarily consider.
Many people have found the V800 Plus is a great tool for night running. Even in a well-lit neighborhood, there are dark areas, and a quality headlamp adds a measure of safety. Other consumers have put their headlamps to good use rooting around in dark attics, garages and basements. Without the burden of holding a flashlight or hand lantern, they're able to find what they need more quickly and more safely. Finally, amateur and professional photographers alike have discovered that the red LED light on VITCHELO® is ideal for nighttime photography. Red light does not interfere with night vision the way white light does.
In the design of the V800 Plus, VITCHELO® has sought to give consumers a product that will prepare them for anything - not sputter out when the going gets tough. The V800 Plus incorporates several key features that make it a smarter choice than other headlamps. From a sustainability perspective, the most important of these is the lockout button. Anyone who has carried a headlamp in a bag or backpack has probably had the experience of it accidentally turning on. With the V800 Plus, that's impossible when the lockout button is engaged. The headlamp also includes boost and dimming functions, which add to its versatility.
VITCHELO® continues to build on its success, developing innovative and sustainable products that deliver countless benefits to consumers around the world.

101Hero introduces the world's most simple and affordable 3D printer
SHENZHEN, China, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 101Hero has changed the 3D printing industry forever with the most affordable 3D printer ever offered. The simplified design is easy enough for anyone to use and unlike large and complicated 3D printers that require meticulous setup and complicated software, the 101Hero sets up in minutes, can operate independently of a computer and features one button printing operation. This revolutionary design puts the power of 3D printing into the hands of anyone.
The goal of the 101Hero project was to eliminate the need for mastering complicated design software or having 3D modeling experience. Rather, the 101Hero allows users to download pre-made 3D designs from the internet onto an SD card which is then inserted directly into the printer. At the touch of a button the design is printed using any common printing plastic such as PLA, ABS, HIPS and others. This new approach to 3D printing makes it easier than ever for beginners to dream, design and create.
Using their know-how and experience from prior 3D printing hardware projects, the team at 101Hero has a simple, lightweight and effective design that retails for only $99. Literally hundreds of dollars less than other comparable printers. Breaking the magic one hundred dollar price point means that 3D printing is finally ready for affordable home use.
"With other 3D printers, cost is big barrier to entry. We wanted a device that performed well but at a price that would make it accessible to anyone. Everyone has creativity inside of them and a tool such as the 101Hero lets people bring their ideas to life." Paul Keung - CEO of 101Hero.
Designed with beginners and students in mind the 101Hero is perfect for youngsters and a low-cost introduction to design and printing. Although great for the home or classroom the 101Hero is a capable machine that can print at 50-350 micron layer resolution and 150 micron X and Y positioning accuracy meaning that it's perfect for any task from arts and crafts to prototyping and small production runs.
Although offered as a simple to use Consumer Version the 101Hero also offers a Designer and Developer version that is USB compatible with any Windows, Mac or Linux system using common open-source software such as slic3r and Cura. The adaptability and performance of the 101Hero means that it is appropriate for users of any skill level from beginner to expert.
To begin pre-sales and offer special incentives to early adopters 101Hero has a current crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Pledge levels that include a 101Hero 3D Printer are currently available as low as $79 USD.
ViaSat Small Tactical Terminal Selected for Canada's Department of National Defence's CP-140 Aurora Aircraft
ViaSat Real-time Link 16 Communications Small Tactical Terminal Enables Network Interoperability between Canadian Armed Forces and Coalition/Allied Forces
EY CENTRE, Ottawa, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- (CANSEC 2016) -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT), a global broadband services and technology company and General Dynamics Mission Systems--Canada, announced today the ViaSat Small Tactical Terminal - KOR-24A - (STT) was selected for use on the CP-140 Aurora aircraft (a Lockheed P3 variant), used by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
The RCAF leverages the CP-140 Aurora long-range patrol as a "command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance" (C4ISR) platform. The Aurora fleet is used for domestic and international operations across a wide variety of disciplines, including domestic surveillance of the Canadian Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans, as well as anti-surface warfare, maritime and overland intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), strike coordination, and search and rescue (SAR) missions. Specific selection of the ViaSat STT was made in recognition of the terminal's ability to meet ongoing mission needs while satisfying deployment and fielding requirements, such as interoperability across all other Link 16 enabled platforms (Halifax-Class Frigates, CF-18 Hornets and fixed/mobile ground stations), affordability, exportability as well as immediate terminal availability.
ViaSat brings real-time combat communications with its two-channel, software-defined STT. The low-SWaP (size, weight and power) STT enables the CP-140 Aurora aircraft to maintain constant presence on the Link 16 network while simultaneously operating voice and data connections on a second channel. The terminal offers an affordable, ruggedized, compact form factor that highlights both innovative design and usability.
"This is a monumental award for ViaSat as it represents our first STT award to be used by the Department of National Defence as well as marks the CP-140 Aurora as a new airborne platform for our STT," said Ken Peterman, senior vice president, Government Systems Division, ViaSat. "In working with General Dynamics Mission Systems--Canada, we are enabling a key coalition partner, the Department of National Defence, to meet the ongoing needs of their missions in a timely manner. By embedding our proven Link 16 STT into the CP-140 Aurora fleet, these aircraft will now find themselves in the 'heart of the action' during critical coalition missions, as the Link 16 platform provides advanced communications with real-time situational awareness and location data, and simultaneous voice or data communication on two key waveforms at the battlefield's edge."
Availability
Deliveries for the ViaSat STT on the CP-140 Aurora fleet began in March 2016. The new STT is on display this week at Canada's Global Defence and Security trade show: CANSEC, May 25-26, 2016, in the JPOM/ViaSat booth #826.
