The DVPL0520S is a non-isolated, synchronous, regulated buck converter that steps down power at the point of use with up to 90% efficiency.

With modules now ranging in output from 3A to 20A, VPT is the only manufacturer to provide power designers with a complete set of POL DC-DC converters that are specifically designed for use in rugged military and avionics power systems.

Apple Announces iCloud, OSX Lion, and iOS5 at WWDC

Apple fans can rejoice with all of the new features that Apple is bringing to its products. But, what's suprising to me is that it's all new features to existing stuff. iCloud could be argued to be new, but it's really revamped Mobile Me. No new Earth Shattering products this year I guess, but there is a lot of good funtionality that will be added to everything they already make.

What's interesting is that Apple is forcing users who want to upgrade to Lion, to first purchase Snow Leopard. Not a bad idea for revenue, but they're making their customers pay for software updates. I think only Apple is allowed to get away with that....

At the Microsoft event at E3, Microsoft unveiled a long list of featured that they intend on bringing to Xbox. I'm excited about a lot of them. It seems that Microsoft is really doing a good job of spanning all of their technologies into each of their products. This also gives similar functionality accross multiple devices to create a fimiliarity and comfort that the consumer will have using everything they make.

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless is investing in Monroe County and expanding its local coverage with a new cell site in Rochester.  The new site improves coverage and capacity in downtown Rochester between Kelley Street and the Inner Loop, and between North Street and St. Paul Boulevard.

This network expansion is part of the company's aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless' voice and data services. The company has invested more than $65 billion nationwide since it was formed - $6 billion on average every year - and invested more than $125 million in Upstate New York in 2010.

In addition to ongoing investment in its 3G network, Verizon Wireless recently began rolling out its 4G LTE network nationwide. Residents of Sioux City, Iowa, to Benefit From Verizon Wireless 3G Network Enhancements

SIOUX CITY, Iowa, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- To continue to stay ahead of rising demand for wireless voice, 3G multimedia and Internet access, Verizon Wireless has expanded its local network in Sioux City, Iowa, by activating a new cell site.

The cell site, located near the intersection of Myers Avenue and South Helen Street, improves coverage within Sioux City as follows:

    --  North to U.S. Highway 12/20;
    --  South to U.S. Highway 75;
    --  East to Lakeport Street;
    --  and West to G Street

The new cell site provides increased wireless voice and 3G data service in Sioux City which empowers more Verizon Wireless customers to rely on their wireless phones for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps, exchanging email and text, picture and video messaging, as well as making calls.

"Iowans are increasingly relying on smartphones and 3G applications to manage their busy lives and stay connected at home or on-the-go," said Seamus Hyland, president-Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Adding capacity at cell sites is part of our continual investment in our network so our customers can use their devices when, where and how they need them."

In addition to the ongoing investment in its 3G network, Verizon Wireless has launched the world's first large-scale 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, which will be available in 76 metropolitan areas by June 16, 2011. The company will continue a phased market rollout so that by the end of 2013, the 4G LTE network will be available everywhere Verizon has its 3G network today.

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE average data rates are 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink in real-world, loaded network environments. These speeds are significantly faster than Verizon Wireless and other wireless providers' current or promised 3G network speeds.

The new cell site is part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to expand coverage and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Iowa and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion since it was formed--$6 billion on average every year--to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. National Instruments Digital Video Analyzer Automates Wide Range of HDMI Tests

New PXI Solution Delivers HDMI 1.4 Protocol, Embedded Audio, 3-D Video Measurements and Real-Time Picture Quality Analysis

AUSTIN, Texas, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) today introduced the new NI Digital Video Analyzer, which automates a wide range of tests for the latest HDMI sources such as set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players and DVD players. The analyzer features configuration-based test steps that automate measurements of HDMI features including 3-D video, HDMI 1.4 protocol and picture quality analysis. With hardware based on the NI PXI Express platform and software designed for multicore computing, engineers can use the NI Digital Video Analyzer to achieve high-performance, high-precision measurements of HDMI content in a fraction of the time required by traditional video test solutions.

"The new NI Digital Video Analyzer and NI Picture Quality Analysis software address the growing demand for test solutions that identify perceived audio and video quality of HDMI content," said Steve Warntjes, director of modular instruments research and development at National Instruments. "These tools deliver reliable measurements for HDMI-enabled multimedia devices and eliminate the challenges associated with manual operator inspection."

The NI Digital Video Analyzer combines with NI Picture Quality Analysis software to precisely measure streaming audio and video quality and eliminate challenges inherent with subjective operator inspection. Using the system's variety of measurements, engineers can analyze streaming video for defects such as macroblocking, stuck frames and audio drops, which single-frame static image analysis cannot detect. Engineers also can use the system to conduct higher performance measurements of total picture quality with pixel-to-pixel reference tests such as peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity.

The NI Digital Video Analyzer also supports HDMI protocol tests including InfoFrames, consumer electronics control (CEC) messaging, extended display identification data (EDID) emulation and hot plug detect (HPD) events. Such capability makes it possible for the NI Digital Video Analyzer to simulate an LCD or HDTV and better guarantee interoperability with other HDMI-enabled devices.

With its NI PXI Express architecture, the analyzer incorporates solutions for multiple HDMI measurements into a single compact solution. The instrument includes the NI PXIe-6545 200 MHz high-speed digital I/O module, the NI PXI-2172 deserializer and decryption module and the NI PXI-7813R reconfigurable I/O FPGA module, all of which integrate with the NI Video Measurement Suite and NI Picture Quality Analysis software to offer engineers a fully integrated solution for automated testing of HDMI sources.
