The Panasonic HM-TA20 shoots in full-HD 1920 x 1080 videos, and records in the MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), which is convenient for editing images with a computer and uploading files to the Internet. The HM-TA20 includes an integrated USB terminal in its compact body and after editing images within the camera, the user simply connects the camera to a computer and the built-in software, which must be installed first, will then always launch automatically upon connection. The HM-TA20 can also be used as a web camera, for online video chatting. Additionally, extended voice recording is also possible, for recording and storing sounds.
The HM-TA20 will automatically prompt the new Nigh Video Mode feature when it recognize dark shooting conditions and enable shooting at a frame rate of 1/15 width, which helps shoot high-quality video and still photos, even in dimly lit conditions.

The Nikon D5100 captures 1080p full HD movies with full-time autofocus and manual exposure control. Users can quickly switch focus modes to stay with the action through a variety of AF functions, including face priority which can track up to 35 human faces, subject-tracking and normal or wide-area autofocus. To activate D-Movie mode and Live-view, a new switch is ergonomically located on the top of the camera near the shutter button for easy access.

IPTC Releases rNews Standard Draft for Embedding Metadata in Online News
LONDON, April 5, 2011/PRNewswire/ -- Publishers large and small struggle to make sure that search engines and
social media sites find their stories and refer to them appropriately. They
want to provide highly targeted adverts while dealing with users who are
opposed to the privacy implication of sharing the personal data necessary to
accomplish that. How can they build web pages with news stories where the
components of the story are machine-readable, as well as human readable?
The IPTC has taken a step to solving this problem with the release of the
first draft of the rNews standard. Details of rNews are available at http://dev.iptc.org/rNews.
The IPTC aims to revamp the process for marking up online news articles
so that search engines and social networking sites can more successfully pull
relevant pieces of data from them. IPTC seeks to develop rNews, a recently
proposed practice for marking news using RDFa, which allows HTML authors to
tag webpage content with indicators that browsers and tools can interpret.
The standard will be compliant with NewsMLG2, IPTC's XML format for
multimedia news packages.
IPTC's Semantic Web Working Group is leading the charge to craft these
standards. The group is mapping out the specifications essential to rNews for
IPTC, and will offer examples of the standards in use, best practices for
implementation, and online tools to ease the transition to the new standards.
This work is set to conclude in the summer of 2011, and will better enable
search engines to cull NewsML-G2 data from the Internet, ready for Semantic
Web and Linked Data mining technologies.

LONDON, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced a collaboration with Shell that has transformed the way the oil company trains employees on its new automated system for loading fuel onto trucks, barges, trains and pipelines. IBM is working with Shell to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of training by helping 1,000 employees in 13 countries improve their decision making skills, while building their knowledge of the fuelling automation system, called the Global Terminal Automation System (GTAS).
The GTAS training solution is a new e-learning tool, designed to provide Shell employees with an on demand, interactive and hands-on environment that re-creates typical fuelling scenarios in a safe learning environment. The e-learning tool was built through collaboration between Shell experts, a team of IBM consultants and e-learning developers. It provides a long term learning solution for GTAS, eliminating the need to fly-in experienced users to provide training.
The tool tests staff by providing typical scenarios they may have to deal with - a truck driver's pass code failing to lift a barrier for instance. The employee then goes into the system, checks available information and resolves the problem. User scores and response times are stored to provide Shell with data insight on the results that employees are achieving. This also enables Shell to identify which users require additional support and training.

"However working with our partner IBM, we explored the cost and learning benefits of developing an online e-simulation - rather than flying trainers around the world to deliver face-to-face training. The first phase of implementation began last year. The e-learning tool will be used in Brazil, UK, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Turkey, Italy, Denmark, Malaysia, and Oman. The tool has been translated into several languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, German, Italian and Turkish. AT&T Building Most Advanced Mobile Broadband Experience in Phoenix; Announces 2011 Network Upgrade Plans
AT&T to Expand Backhaul in 2011 in Phoenix to Enable 4G Speeds, Increase Mobile Broadband Capacity, Upgrade Hundreds of Cell Sites
PHOENIX, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T*, building on its strong 2010 record of network accomplishments, today announced network improvement plans designed to enable 4G speeds** and enhanced reliability to Phoenix and surrounding communities in 2011. The wireless network enhancement plans are part of AT&T's planned $19-billion investment in its wireless and wireline networks and other capital projects in 2011.
Jerry Fuentes, president of AT&T Arizona, says AT&T plans the following network improvements in the Phoenix area in 2011:
-- Deploying enhanced backhaul connections to approximately 300 of the
area's cell sites. Combined with HSPA+ technology, these backhaul
deployments enable 4G speeds.
-- Delivering additional wireless capacity to roughly 160 cell sites in the
area through the addition of new layers of frequency, also known as
"carriers." Adding extra capacity to a cell site is like widening a
highway--you're creating more lanes to accommodate increasing traffic.
-- Installing roughly more than 130 new cell sites and approximately 100
new antennas, which act as small cell sites, to improve network
coverage.
-- Deploying and upgrading Distributed Antenna System (DAS) networks at
more than six venues in high-traffic areas to enhance network coverage
during events to provide enhanced wireless coverage to customers in
indoor or outdoor spaces where geographical limitations might otherwise
prevent an optimal wireless experience.
"Our story is getting even better for Phoenix and Arizona," Fuentes said. "Our recently announced agreement to acquire T-Mobile USA represents a great deal for customers and a major commitment to strengthen and expand our network. In fact, this deal, if approved, means that we'll be able to expand the next generation of mobile broadband-4G LTE-from our current plan of 80 percent of the U.S. population to 95 percent."
"The T-Mobile acquisition provides a fast, efficient and certain solution to the impending wireless exhaust situation facing both companies while adding cell towers. Fuentes said AT&T invested nearly $175 million in its Phoenix wireless and wireline network from 2008 through 2010 as part of its commitment to superior service in the area. This year's plans build upon the improvements AT&T completed in 2010 to strengthen its Phoenix area mobile broadband network, including:
-- Installing more than 250 new cell sites or antenna locations, including
in Phoenix, Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa and Scottsdale
-- Upgrading various cell sites for mobile broadband
-- Deploying enhanced backhaul connections to key cell sites to enable 4G
speeds and more capacity
-- Adding spectrum carriers to more than 360 cell sites
-- Deploying DAS networks at nine venues, including Phoenix Children's
Hospital, Arizona State University's Wells Fargo Arena, and Arizona
State University's Carson Center
The investments made in the Phoenix area wireless and wireline networks are part of the nearly $425 million AT&T invested from 2008-2010 across Arizona, Fuentes said.
The nation's fastest mobile broadband network is getting faster with 4G**. A key planned upgrade for 2011 is deployment of enhanced backhaul connections to approximately 300 cell sites throughout Phoenix to enable 4G speeds. Backhaul connections carry traffic between cell sites and AT&T's nationwide network. Enhanced fiber-optic and ethernet backhaul connections expand capacity many times over, and enable additional expansion in the years to come.

Broadridge in Japan Announces Agreement with Mitsui Knowledge Industry (MKI), and New Bank of Japan Connectivity

acquired all intellectual property rights in MKI's B-Fund solution. The
solution provides connectivity and associated processing for Japanese
government bonds (JGB) and Japanese yen (JPY) payments that clear and settle
through the Bank of Japan's BOJ-Net System.
The B-Fund solution will be renamed and marketed by Broadridge
as Gloss BOJ Processing Solution, with changes being effective immediately.
Under the terms of the software purchase agreement, Broadridge
will license the B-Fund solution back to MKI to allow MKI to provide

The Bank of Japan has announced plans to redevelop its BOJ-Net
