A super cool Keyboard For Blondes has been picking up a cult-like following as it continues to make waves around the globe; "I want one! I want one! I want one!" resound thousands of emails from fans; In response, the company has made the keyboard available in most world languages
WASHINGTON, July 13 -- One should not be fooled by a catchy name. "Keyboard for Blondes" is not only for "blondes." A very chic pink keyboard makes an important fashion statement and commands attention where it lands. While this "fairy standard" 103-key keyboard performs all the functions of a regular keyboard and is compatible with major OSs like Windows, Linux and Mac, it has so much more to offer in terms of entertainment value. One does not need to be "blonde" to enjoy its features.
Some utility keys like "~," "Tab," "Backspace," "Space" and many others have been playfully re-labeled "Any Key," "Useless Key," "Oops!" and "The Big One: I need My Space." The jokiness continues with special texting shortcuts programmed into some of the keys. Besides the most popular and widely used ones ("OMG," "LOL," "XOXO"), there are some essential comical "blonde" shortcuts like "ROI: Relaxing On Island," "ALI: Absolutely Love It," "SOS: Shoes On Sale" and "ZZZD: Boring Date."
Another popular feature is software "Keynguru" exclusively written for Keyboard For Blondes by an international team of young talented programmers. This software allows you to get a humorous audio feedback as you type on the keyboard. One can expect to hear the following quotes:
-- "Oops!" "Oh-Ohhh..."
-- "Yes!" "Yes, I want it!" "Aha!"
-- "Warning!"
-- "Help!!!"
-- "No!" "No way!" "I said: 'No'!"
-- "You are so smart!"
-- "Do you really think so? I don't!"
-- "Helloooo?!!!!"
-- "Totally useless"
-- "You are deleted!"
-- "That's awesome!"
-- "I like it"
-- "Perfect"
-- "There you go!"
-- "Negative!"
-- "That's good!"
-- "Duhhh?!!!"
The software Keynguru gives you an option to make even a routine task fun. It can be turned off and back on easily. The company has plans to release another version of this popular software that would work with any keyboard.
"We have heard our customers," says Irene Hurley, a spokeswoman for the company. "Now we offer this fun product in many alphabets/languages besides English. We want to thank all our friends around the world for the fan mail we receive and for your enthusiasm and support! It's been truly overwhelming."

Whirlpool Brand Makes Living Green Easier With the New Whirlpool® Cabrio® Laundry Pair
New Top-Load Cabrio® Pair Pays for Itself in Lifetime Water and Energy Savings
DES MOINES, Iowa, July 13 -- Whirlpool brand, flagship of the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of home appliances, continues to create new and innovative laundry products that use less energy and water. With the launch of the new Whirlpool® Cabrio® high-efficiency top-load laundry pair, consumers can live green without breaking the bank by using 74 percent less water and 76 percent less energy per load(1).
According to a recent online survey(2) conducted on behalf of Whirlpool Corporation by Harris Interactive, 68 percent of consumers say they do their best to be green to the extent that it fits into their lifestyles and finances. The Whirlpool® Cabrio® laundry pair delivers in a big way for this group, providing uncompromised, high-efficiency (HE) laundry at a price point under $1,100. And, the ENERGY STAR® qualified pair can save consumers more than $2,100 in lifetime water and energy costs(3)--more than the total MSRP of the pair. In addition, an Eco Monitor in the washer and dryer shows the eco-friendliness of each cycle or option, while the EcoBoost(TM) cycle option achieves the cleaning performance while lowering overall energy and water use.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office says that by 2013, at least 36 states could face water shortages. For every household that uses the new Whirlpool® Cabrio® laundry pair, 11,600 gallons of water could be saved each year. If all households in California--12.1 million, according to the 2006 U.S. Census Bureau report--used the new Whirlpool® Cabrio® laundry pair for one year, the state could save 140 billion gallons of water and still wash 4.74 billion loads of laundry. Putting 140 billion gallons of water into perspective, one could fill 212,121 Olympic-size pools with that amount of water or both sides of Niagara Falls could run for an entire summer.
"Water is the biggest environmental issue facing us today. It's a resource we can't live without, yet most of us take it for granted as we brush, flush and consume water seemingly without limit. Changing our behavior can be easy. In my book, you'll find hundreds of simple tips for water savings in the home, garden and office to make a difference, without making big changes in your life," said Thomas Kostigen, author of "The Green Blue Book: The Simple Water-Savings Guide to Everything in Your Life." "Some simple changes like soaking your vegetables instead of rinsing them or using ENERGY STAR qualified appliances can make a huge impact. If you're using a six-year-old top-load washer, you may be able to save up to 30 gallons per load of laundry if you switch to a high efficiency washer."
In addition to caring for the environment, Whirlpool brand helps consumers care for their clothes. The new Cabrio laundry pair is 35 percent more gentle on clothes(4). The Cabrio® washer's impeller and wash basket move independently with unique wash actions to deliver ideal cleaning performance for virtually all fabric types and load sizes. It also features the H2Low(TM) wash system which uses Auto Load Sensing technology to use less water per load but still delivers better cleaning and gentleness than a traditional washer. In the dryer, the AccuDry(TM) drying system automatically stops the cycle when the load is dry. Tumbling and heating times are reduced, so clothes avoid shrinking and damage. Dryers with the AccuDry(TM) drying system use 10 percent less energy than Whirlpool traditional dryers(5).
The new Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW5500X/5600X/WTW5700X) and dryer (WG/ED5500X/5600X/WE/GD5700X) will be available in 2010 with an MSRP starting at $599 for the washer and $599 for the dryer. For more information on Whirlpool brand, please go to http://www.whirlpool.com.

YMCA, Siegel+Gale Provide Inside Look at National Brand Revitalization of 'the Y'
Effort to drive public understanding of nonprofit's cause, impact
NEW YORK, July 13 -- Global strategic branding firm Siegel+Gale, in partnership with YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), is offering details of the national brand revitalization of the YMCA. Y-USA, the national resource office of the nation's 2,687 YMCAs, has developed a new brand strategy and logo to further the nonprofit's community impact.
Although the YMCA has almost universal name recognition and public goodwill, Y-USA's research revealed that few people understand what the nonprofit stands for and its scope of impact. Working with Siegel+Gale, Y-USA engaged YMCAs across the country to create a consistent, inspirational brand platform to elevate the YMCA's cause and areas of focus. Having launched the refreshed brand platform on July 12th, the Y is now poised to more powerfully articulate how it nurtures the potential of youth, improves health and fosters a sense of social responsibility.
"Our nation faces unprecedented challenges, and the Y believes lasting change will only occur if we invest in our children, health and neighbors," said Kate Markin Coleman, senior vice president, chief marketing officer, Y-USA. "The Y has long been a leading nonprofit for strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Through our new brand platform, we will more broadly make known what we do and our impact--so more people can benefit from what we offer."
The joint revitalization effort began with an extensive qualitative and quantitative market research initiative--the insights of which led to the development of a refreshed brand platform, brand architecture and nomenclature system. Designers created a new visual identity that is bold, active and welcoming--representing the Y's commitment to social progress. The logo, which also has been refreshed to reflect that the public refers to the national brand as "the Y," is set in a variety of color combinations to symbolize the diversity and vibrancy inherent in the organization and its communities.
"The Y is a part of the fabric of our communities and our nation's history," said Alan Siegel, founder and chairman of Siegel+Gale. "We're honored by the opportunity to partner with Y-USA to shine a light on the positive impact that the Y has on our communities--and the people in them--every day."
The revitalization will roll out in more than 10,000 communities across America.

CARLSBAD, Calif., July 13 -- Can't unplug from the office even though you're on vacation? According to CareerCast.com (http://www.careercast.com), a national job-search portal, you're definitely not alone.
With smartphones, netbooks and more now available, it's easy to stay connected with your office while you're on vacation, but is it a good idea? Vacations are meant to help employees recharge so they can return to work re-energized and refocused. But if you're constantly checking in with the office, you won't get a real break.
"While there is always something more to do at work, it's important to take time to relax and recharge yourself," says Tony Lee, publisher, http://www.CareerCast.com. "You're ultimately more productive after taking a break from your daily routine, and it can help spur creativity and innovation. If you can't completely unplug from your office, set guidelines so your vacation actually feels like a vacation and not a business trip."
CareerCast.com offers these tips on how to unplug on vacation:
-- Plan ahead. Coordinate your vacation time with your co-workers, team
and other executive staff to ensure that things run smoothly while
you're out.
-- Designate your main point of contact and give them a detailed account
of all your projects and work commitments along with your emergency
contact information.
-- Try to leave the majority of your work-related hardware at home.
-- Inform your key accounts, vendors and clients when and how long you'll
be out of the office.
-- If you have a lot of projects that will need attention while you're
out, consider distributing your projects among your co-workers or
team.
-- If you can't resist the temptation to check in, try to set up specific
times or days you will be checking messages.
-- Leave your mobile devices in your room so you can concentrate on
family and friends and not be tempted to check in during the day.
-- If you receive urgent voicemails or emails while you're out, ask your
main point of contact troubleshoot the issue.
But most importantly, have fun! You deserve a break. Your health and your work will be better off when you return refreshed and ready to refocus.

Collexis Launches Community Feature for Academic Customers
AMSTERDAM, July 13, 2010--
- Connecting Experts From Over 16 Institutions Through Expert Profiling
Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical
information products and services, today announced that Collexis, an Elsevier
business and leading developer of semantic technology and knowledge discovery
software, has launched its community module for their Expert Profiling
application. The release of version 3.6 Expert Profiling connects experts
across the Collexis community from multiple institutions by research
concepts.
"We are very excited about latest release of Expert Profiling as this not
only helps researchers connect across disciplines but also across member
institutions," noted Jay Katzen, Managing Director, Elsevier Science and
Technology. "This transparency across institutions can lead to new
collaborations that will enhance the research process and the quest for new
cures to the most challenging diseases."
"Over the past few years, the NIH has focused on increasing networking
and collaboration through CTSA awards and the VIVO initiative. The Collexis
Expert Profiling community module also supports these goals as well as
provide interoperability between VIVO and the Collexis application," stated
Christian Herzog, MD, Managing Director Collexis. "Prior to the acquisition
by Elsevier the Collexis profiles were based on PubMed data, now the profiles
will be powered by the 18,000 peer review journals within Scopus which will
not only strengthen the life science profiles but allow us to provide expert
profiles in all scientific disciplines!"
The Collexis Expert Profiling community module allows for the
identification of not only an institution's research experts based on their

The New FirstTeam.com Empowers Consumers, One Home Search at a Time
COSTA MESA, Calif., July 12 -- High resolution data-rich "snapshots" of Southern California's real estate market, from individual listings to pricing and market trends to compelling details about hundreds of local communities and schools, are now instantly accessible to the public on First Team Real Estate's groundbreaking and ambitiously redesigned website, http://www.FirstTeam.com.
The largest independent real estate company in Southern California, First Team spent more than a year working with one of the world's leading user-centered website design firms, Human Factors International (HFI), to completely revamp the site using HFI's proven principles of human-computer interaction, psychology, computer science, and marketing.
The goal was to create a genuinely simple-to-navigate real estate website and to more easily share with clients innovative proprietary tools noted in the industry for giving First Team agents and clients access to in-depth market statistics and analysis not offered by most other companies, according to Cameron Merage, CEO and Founder of First Team Real Estate.
"Considering that our regional site gets well over 100,000 total visitors per month, we felt it was critical to serve our sellers as well as our buyers in the best manner possible by providing them immediate website access to the tools and products that have made First Team unique and successful," Merage said.
The new website design also increased First Team Real Estate's powerful school search because for many people looking to purchase a home, knowing the quality of local schools is critical. The search includes such details (where available) as the school's pupil-to-teacher ratios, percentage of college-bound seniors, and homes nearby for sale.
Another key point for sellers is the site's "Find a Community" feature, which provides very detailed demographic information for over 140 Southern California communities. Buyers unfamiliar with an area can quickly get a focused take on their potential new hometown.
"We see this new website as a living, breathing organism that will constantly undergo evolution for the benefit of our buyer and seller clients as well as our real estate agents," commented Ondar Tarlow, Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations for First Team.

"Customizable SOAP notes has been one of the biggest obstacles for many health care professionals when it comes to switching to electronic medical record software," commented Michael Nusimow, CEO and Co-Founder of DrChrono.com. "The macro feature saves doctors time by reducing the amount of typing needed during an exam."DrChrono.com's unveiled the world's first and only native EMR app for the Apple iPad on April 24 at the Health 2.0 Conference in Jacksonville, FL. A tutorial video can be seen here. The feature, according to Kivatinos, lays the foundation to address a larger problem in the industry. "Many doctors tell us that they struggle to figure out how to bill certain kinds of visits and treatments," he said. "As such, we intend to build a social network-style interactive community into DrChrono.com's online portal that will allow physicians to share knowledge about how to document cases and treatments, as well as how to more effectively bill insurance companies, or anything else that they may want to discuss with colleagues around the U.S."Links:

Teradata and ESRI Offer Customers Advanced Geospatial Intelligence
Brings Intuitive, Visual Means to Improve Decision-Making
SAN DIEGO and REDLANDS, Calif., July 12 -- Teradata Corporation (NYSE:TDC) and ESRI announced that their new relationship will enable customers to integrate business and geospatial data in a single database, perform advanced analytics and deliver geospatial intelligence to business users to improve decision-making.
"The unique combination of geospatial power from ESRI and the marketing-leading Teradata database engine offers customers a new, advanced ability to solve business problems," said Randy Lea, vice president, Teradata product and service marketing. "The new partnership makes it possible for customers to gain a business advantage by maximizing how they leverage geospatial and business information."
For example, a retailer wants to target new high-value customers to increase sales in all of their 200 stores; however, each store has a diverse customer base. Using Teradata, the retailer can analyze all the shoppers in each of the 200 stores to identify their best customers based on shopping patterns and other transactional data. This intelligence is valuable, but it is more powerful with the addition of the geographical-based data.
Working with ESRI, companies can add "drive-time" and "lifestyle" customer segments to the analysis. This resulting geospatial intelligence can then be used to support targeted marketing campaigns directed at profitable customers.
"The partnership between ESRI and Teradata combines sophisticated spatial analytics and visualization with high performance and event processing to deliver real-time spatial analytics," said David Sonnen, senior analyst for Spatial Information, IDC. "The new capabilities allow retail, telecommunication, utilities, transportation and government agencies to manage and analyze millions of records of data on a national scale at speeds that have not been achieved in the past."
Teradata supports various geospatial types of data like points on a map, lines, and polygons. It can perform over 60 geospatial analytic functions within its scaleable, high performance database. It is enhanced by the ESRI industry-leading spatial data creation, visualization, advanced analytics, and spatial collaboration tools to provide Teradata customers with unprecedented capabilities to exploit the spatial data within their data warehouse.
"ESRI fills a critical role in the Teradata ecosystem in terms of spatial ETL, spatial content, advanced spatial analysis and, of course, visualization, mapping and spatial collaboration," said Steve Benner, alliance manager, ESRI. "Our new relationship helps customers bridge the gap between the data warehouse and their Geographic Information System- a common customer request - to get more value from their investments in both systems."
Geospatial Consulting Services
Claraview, a division of Teradata, and ESRI offer specialized professional services to help customers easily integrate and deploy the geospatial capability in their business intelligence environments. Claraview has a proven set of Geospatial Business Intelligence Services to help businesses develop a long-term vision and deployment plan for their geospatial initiatives. Claraview brings together best practices in business intelligence and geospatial analytics, and aligns business and technology objectives to build a robust analytical capability.
"This new partnership provides our customers with a low risk and quicker implementation," said Jeff Snow, managing partner, Claraview, a division of Teradata Corporation. "Claraview assists customers to maximize the Teradata data warehouse, ESRI capabilities and the business intelligence tools of the customer's choice."

KLA-Tencor Extends Reticle Defect Management Toolset With New TeraFab(TM)HT and eDR(TM)-5210S Systems
MILPITAS, Calif., July 12 -- Today KLA-Tencor Corporation® (NASDAQ:KLAC), the world's leading supplier of process control and yield management solutions for the semiconductor and related industries, introduced the TeraFab(TM)HT reticle inspector and eDR(TM)-5210S wafer defect review tool. These new tools are designed to address the accelerating problem of reticle contamination in leading-edge semiconductor foundries, and other advanced chip fabrication facilities, through early detection of reticle defects and fast, accurate wafer dispositioning after a reticle defect is found.
The presence of contamination on a reticle during device manufacturing can be catastrophic, since a defect on the reticle has the potential to generate a defect in every die on every wafer printed from that reticle. Generally, the most cost-effective control strategy is to detect contamination on the reticle before it is extensive enough to result in defects on the wafer. When contamination is detected, the reticle is sent for cleaning and re-qualification while the wafers printed most recently are checked for defects.
"Our leading-edge customers are facing two major challenges in reticle contamination control," said Zain Saidin, chief engineer at KLA-Tencor and group vice president of the reticle inspection and e-beam technology divisions. "First, fabs need more reticle defect inspection sensitivity with each device generation: linewidths shrink, smaller reticle defects print and smaller defects on the wafer can affect yield. Second, the process to review reticle-induced defects on the wafer needed to be significantly faster, so that a statistically representative number of die could be checked and the number of die with reticle-induced defects could be determined accurately--even under the extreme cycle-time pressure of a leading-edge fab. It is costly to scrap wafers unnecessarily--or worse, pass them to the next process step with unrecognized defects. Our TeraFabHT and eDR-5210S systems are engineered to address these critical issues."
The TeraFabHT reticle inspection system features improvements to the previous-generation TeraFab's laser, sensor, optical path and signal processing algorithms, including KLA-Tencor's patented STARlight(TM) mode, that enable the following capabilities:
-- Increased detection sensitivity and throughput compared with
previous-generation TeraFab and SLQ reticle defect inspection systems
-- Inspection of single-die and multi-product masks, leading-edge mask
types using novel materials (such as opaque MoSi on glass [OMOG]) and
designs employing unusually small optical proximity correction (OPC)
features
-- Up to three sensitivity and throughput settings, promoting
cost-effective inspection of critical and non-critical masks across a
variety of device nodes
The eDR-5210S e-beam wafer defect review system features high resolution, unparalleled stage accuracy, new algorithms and unique connectivity to the TeraFabHT, enabling the following capabilities:
-- Innovative Reticle Defect Review (RDR) mode, with seamless translation
of reticle to wafer coordinates, to allow significantly simplified,
accelerated review of potential reticle-induced defect sites
-- Characterization of printing variability of reticle-induced defects
across the wafer
-- Enhanced acceleration and accuracy of wafer dispositioning using
proprietary data from the TeraFabHT about mask orientation and defect
characteristics
KLA-Tencor's TeraFabHT reticle inspection system and eDR-5210S wafer defect review tool can be purchased as new systems or as field upgrades from the previous-generation inspection and review toolset. Both tools are compatible with KLA-Tencor's industry-leading 28xx broadband wafer inspection systems and Klarity® Defect data management and analysis systems, enabling thorough monitoring of reticle-originating defects and efficient tracking of reticle defect history across the fab. To maintain high performance and productivity, the TeraFabHT and eDR-5210S tools are backed by KLA-Tencor's global, comprehensive service network, and the eDR-5210S is further supported by KlearPoint(TM) client-server real-time tool monitoring system. Microsoft Research Illuminates Night Sky and Mars in 3-D With WorldWide Telescope
Microsoft Research unveils TeraPixel project, awards $1.4 million in research grants at annual Faculty Summit.
REDMOND, Wash., July 12 -- Today at the 11th annual Microsoft Research Faculty Summit, Microsoft Corp. announced the latest version of the WorldWide Telescope and unveiled the largest seamless spherical map ever made of the night sky. Microsoft also released the most complete high-resolution coverage of Mars available, provided through an ongoing collaborative relationship with NASA, allowing WorldWide Telescope users to experience Mars in 3-D.
During Faculty Summit, which brings together more than 350 academic thought leaders, Microsoft will also award $1.4 million in research grants through the Faculty Fellows grant program. The program, which began in 2005, now encompasses nearly 40 academic researchers whose exceptional talent for research and innovation identify them as emerging leaders in their fields.
The 2010 Faculty Summit is an important three-day event that lays the groundwork for Microsoft's future collaboration with universities, industry and governments as the organizations jointly work to advance research, inspire technological innovation, enhance the educational experience and cultivate the next generation of thought leaders.
"Much like space, scientific discovery knows no boundaries," said Tony Hey, corporate vice president of External Research at Microsoft Research. "A generation ago, scientists often worked isolated in their laboratories. Today, collaboration can help lead to great discoveries. Through events like Faculty Summit and programs like Faculty Fellows, we're proud to facilitate that important interaction and help promising researchers around the world through funding."
Microsoft Launches Largest Spherical Map of Sky Ever Created
As part of the new user experience in the WorldWide Telescope, Microsoft is also announcing a first of its kind: a high-resolution spherical TeraPixel sky map now available to viewers within the telescope. The map is the largest and highest-quality spherical image of the sky currently available and was created from data provided by the Digitized Sky Survey, a collection of thousands of images taken over a period of 50 years by two ground-based survey telescopes. When those images are combined and processed, the TeraPixel image provides a complete, spherical, panoramic rendering of the night skies that, if displayed at full size, would require 50,000 high-definition televisions to view. The new high-quality image will provide scientists with the ability to navigate through space dynamically to make their own discoveries.
Creating the TeraPixel image was a massive data-capture process requiring the latest in scientific tools. Microsoft researchers were able to use the Project Trident workflow workbench and the DryadLINQ interface for Microsoft .NET to combine thousands of images and systematically remove differences in exposure, brightness, noise floor and color saturation.
Using the Project Trident technology, Microsoft Research automated the data analysis and visualization process and was able to manage the workflow for TeraPixel in an efficient way. With Project Trident and DryadLINQ, Microsoft Research reduced the time it took to run one iteration of the TeraPixel image from weeks to hours, making the creation of an image of this size and quality possible for the first time. In addition to their use in creating the TeraPixel image, Project Trident and DryadLINQ can be used to empower scientists in other data-intensive fields, such as oceanography, environmental science and medical research.
Those wanting to learn more about the TeraPixel project and the technology that made it possible can download the WorldWide Telescope rich application at http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/.
Microsoft and NASA Provide Close Encounter With Mars
Provided to the public under the Microsoft and NASA Space Act Agreement of 2009, the fully interactive images and exciting new NASA dataset will allow viewers to virtually explore the Red Planet and make their own scientific discoveries. New features include a true-color map of Mars, astonishing 3-D rendering of the surface of the planet, and exclusive interactive video tours with two noted NASA scientists, James Garvin, Ph.D. of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, and Carol Stoker, Ph.D. of the NASA Ames Research Center.
"With this release, NASA and Microsoft Research are providing an entirely new viewing experience in WorldWide Telescope," said Chris C. Kemp, chief technology officer for IT at NASA Headquarters, Washington, D.C. "By providing the Mars dataset to the public in Microsoft's WorldWide Telescope platform, we are lowering the barrier of access to this information and enabling a whole new audience to experience the thrill of space."
Microsoft Research Awards $1.4 Million in Funding to Next Generation of Scientists
During the Faculty Summit, Hey also announced the recipients of the 2010 Microsoft Research Faculty Fellowship grants, which were awarded to seven promising young researchers around the world for a total grant distribution of $1.4 million. The Microsoft Research Faculty Fellowship program provides $200,000 each to innovative new faculty members who are exploring breakthrough, high-impact research that has the potential to help solve some of today's most challenging societal problems. Virtual Reality: Telemedicine Continues to Increase Access to Care for Medi-Cal Members
Anthem Blue Cross program reaches milestone of 25,000 clinical specialty consults
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., July 12 -- According to US Department of Health and Human Services, compared with urban Americans, rural residents have higher poverty rates, have fewer doctors, hospitals, and other health resources, and face more difficulty getting to health services. Beginning 2014, when health care reform becomes effective, an estimated 2.4 million Californians will be newly-eligible for Medi-Cal. However, many families who reside in rural areas and depend on state funded programs may still feel left out of the health care system. That's where telemedicine can play an important role.
For more than 12 years, Anthem Blue Cross has focused on providing access to care for Medi-Cal members through the use of telemedicine - a technology that allows urban specialists the ability to consult with rural patients via computers, cameras, and encryption software remotely. And today, with improved technology and more telemedicine sites readily available in Anthem's network, residents in rural areas can get the benefit of a virtual consultation, without traveling a long distance or waiting for months to be seen in-person.
"We've long understood the needs of providing our Medi-Cal members in rural areas with access to care," said Kevin Hayden, president of Anthem Blue Cross' State Sponsored Business. "We know our members in these areas need access to specialty care and sometimes driving a long distance or taking time off from work just isn't a viable option." For more than a decade, Anthem has invested in building its telemedicine program and collaborating with specialists and leading medical centers to help bring state of the art medicine to their members with great results.
Another example of the success of telemedicine, are the benefits the program has offered through Anthem's PPO plans with CalPERS. It has allowed many rural State and local public agency employees to access specialist health care in underserved communities. CalPERS was the first commercial payer that boldly changed its Anthem benefit plan payment structure to assure their members have access to these remote specialists for their health care needs.
Today, Anthem's program boasts more than 65 presentation sites and 15 specialty centers that include medical centers such as Loma Linda University Health Care and the University of California San Francisco. This collaboration has resulted in more than 25,000 clinical consults with members for cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology and neurology medical needs. In the past two years the program has grown to include 31 specialists who elect to participate in the network of physicians--offering members greater access to highly specialized medicine.
Improved technology has also helped to significantly improve the quality of telemedicine consults for both the physician and the member. The introduction of high definition video and more powerful digital still cameras provides physicians drastically improved visual quality, a departure from earlier generations of video or still digital images that often times resulted in pixilation making it difficult for physicians to more accurately provide a medical assessment. "The fact is, telemedicine will only continue to expand and flourish, as applications like home health, 24/7 health care, and virtual visits are further developed and accepted," said San Francisco-based Dermatologist Marc Goldyne, MD, PhD, FAAD. Using telemedicine over the past 10 years, Dr. Goldyne has provided access to skin care for over 2,500 California patients who did not have prior access because of where they lived. Distance is no longer an obstacle to care as long as patients and their primary care providers have internet access.
As the rural parts of the state continue to struggle with the effects of the economy, Anthem recognizes more families will depend on state funded programs like Medi-Cal to provide them with access to care. "Inherent in that, is our need to ensure our members have access to care," explained Hayden. "The growth and increased use of the telemedicine program tells us that our efforts to expand our telemedicine capabilities are making a difference in the lives of our members, and we're grateful to have the collaboration of physicians and hospitals who help us meet the needs of Medi-Cal members everyday."

NEW YORK, July 12, 2010-- .Co Internet, the .Co Domain Name Registry, today released 1500 domain
names that failed to meet the Sunrise trademark stage of the .CO domain
launch.
Available from 18:00 UTC today, Domainmonster.com are listing the domains
at http://www.domainmonster.com/domains/co/co-domains-released/. The list
includes a vast number of premium domains such as alice.co, alabama.co,
blond.co, central.co, face.co, flat.co, garage.co and tourist.co, all now
available to order on a first come first served basis from today.
Protecting the world's trademark holders with industry firsts for
Intellectual Property procedures at a domain launch, the .CO registry
originally opened the Sunrise stage on 1st April this year. Electing global
consulting firm Deloitte to ratify applications that trademark holders made
for their domains, they've now concluded their processing and this list
represents the names that failed validation as legitimate trademark
applications.
"This is now officially the fastest selling domain launch we've ever
seen; a pretty impressive feat when you consider we sold more domains at
launch than anyone else worldwide in recent years", commented Matt Mansell,
CEO, Domainmonster.com. "As with this entire domain launch, the .Co Registry
has raised the bar again, validating Sunrise applications at lightning speed,
allowing release of failed applications in time for Landrush or General
Availability", continued Mansell.
Domainmonster.com is accepting Landrush orders now, entirely live at
Domainmonster.com. The first of two public stages, Landrush is the premium
stage open to the general public before the registry opens its doors
completely for General Availability at 18:00 UTC on the 20th July 2010.
Domainmonster is also taking pre-orders on a completely no-win-no-fee basis
for the final General Availability stage.

Slang's Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring Repositions Launch Date
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 12 -- Slang announced today that they have repositioned the highly-anticipated Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring launch date to October 12, 2010 in order to maximize the game's potential, while taking full advantage of the upcoming holiday season in U.S., Canadian and Latin America markets. Furthermore, the strategic new launch date will grant first time publisher Slang with ancillary time for expanded marketing and development efforts to ensure that Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring truly provides fans with an entertainment experience that captures the sport's passion, tradition and over-the-top high-flying action.
"Based on the positive feedback we received at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo we decided to push the launch of Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring closer to the upcoming holiday shopping season. The additional time provides us with several key benefits including the ability to market to a larger audience, build greater street buzz with consumers and continue the development cycle," said Abraham Bautista, president of Slang. "The new launch date will facilitate our goal of creating an addictively fun game that combines an entertaining pick-up-and-play experience with Lucha Libre's passionate history and majestic Luchadores known for their brute strength and extreme aerial acrobatics inside the ring."
Developed by Immersion Games and Sabarasa, distributed by Konami, Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring is an addictively fresh and entertaining first look at the highly acrobatic fighting sport and the compelling luchadores who risk life and limb to deliver electrifying battles inside the six-sided ring. Slang's Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring features an evolutionary popularity-based scoring system allowing fans to unlock increasingly acrobatic and devastating signature moves based on the user's ability to gain the support of the audience through the execution of taunts aimed at humiliating one's opponent.
Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring also introduces more than 30 different real life luchadores from the AAA league, authentic Mexican wrestling venues, fully customizable character and mask editor system, and unique online gameplay modes including Mask vs. Hair where up to four players wager their mask or hair against their opponents in a winner-takes-all battle royal. Slang's Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring will be available at launch on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii(TM) and Nintendo DSiWare(TM). Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring will be available on PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system at a later date.
