ET Solar Launches New Black Module Product Line in the North American Markets
NANJING, China, June 22 -- ET Solar Group Corp. ("ET Solar"), a Nanjing-based photovoltaic ("PV") system turnkey solution provider and integrated manufacturer of PV products, announced it has received approval and listing from the California Energy Commission (CEC) for its new line of black frame and black back sheet crystalline solar modules for the North American markets, including both US and Canada.
The product line includes both mono-crystalline and multi-crystalline modules. The black mono-crystalline ET-M572B series modules are made with a black anodized aluminum frame and black triple-layer backsheet. Available in power ratings of 175/180/185 watts with conversion efficiencies of up to 14.5%, they are encapsulated with 72 pieces of 5-inch, high efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells.
The black multi-crystalline ET-P654B, ET-P660B, and ET-P672B series modules are made with a black anodized frame and black backsheet or white backsheet. Their power ratings range from 200/205/210 watt, 220/225/230 watt, and 270/275/280 watt with module conversion efficiencies up to 14.4%. The new black modules are designed to address concerns on aesthetic appeal, particularly in the residential solar market segment.

Nasuni Demonstrates Cloud Storage Security With Bold Challenge
Crack the Nasuni Prize File, Win $5,000
NATICK, Mass., June 22 -- Nasuni, the leading gateway to cloud storage, today announced a bold challenge to industry skeptics: Successfully reveal the contents of the file stored in the cloud by a Nasuni Filer, and win $5,000. The announcement, which follows on the heels of a release detailing the top 5 security concerns facing any cloud service, marks the start of a multi-pronged campaign to demonstrate that these concerns are surmountable.
"We're aware that many businesses are dubious about cloud storage for security reasons," said Nasuni CEO and co-founder Andres Rodriguez. "Data leakage is a major concern. With cloud storage, you have to entrust your data to an outside party, and your data is swimming around in the cloud with other customers' data. Intuitively, it seems risky. To protect against leakage, the Nasuni Filer uses OpenPGP -- one of the most widely used and respected cryptosystems today -- to encrypt all data before it leaves the customer's premises. When in transit or at rest in the cloud, data is opaque to prying eyes. It can be decrypted only by flowing back through the Filer into the privacy of the customer's office. The Filer masks everything -- not just data, but filenames, file sizes, timestamps, and more. The encryption, performed by the AES-256 cipher, is fast, so users don't have to sacrifice performance for security. And, to ensure that no customer can accidentally access another's data, in spite of the shared storage resources of the cloud, each customer has a unique key.
To demonstrate OpenPGP's effectiveness, Nasuni has made public a handful of files written to the cloud by a Nasuni Filer. Among them is the Prize File, with a top-secret message inside. Altera Delivers Industry's First Single-Chip Solution for HD WDR Surveillance Cameras

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 22 -- Expanding its FPGA solutions for the surveillance market, Altera Corporation (NASDAQ:ALTR) announced today the industry's first high-definition (HD), surveillance internet protocol (IP) camera reference design on a single FPGA. This unique solution features Altera's low-cost Cyclone® III or Cyclone IV FPGAs and intellectual property from Eyelytics and Apical supporting AltaSens' 1080p60 A3372E3-4T and Aptina's 720p60 MT9M033 HD Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) CMOS image sensors. The all-in-one solution offers surveillance equipment manufacturers the ability to reduce board space, lower power consumption, increase flexibility and reduce development time compared to previous architectures using traditional digital signal processors and ASSPs.
Traditional digital signal processors and ASSPs don't have the processing power required to accept the large bandwidth of data from 1080p and 720p WDR CMOS sensors (for instance, a full HD raster is 2200x1125 pixels x 16+ bits per pixel x 60 frames per second, resulting in >2 Gbps bandwidth). Altera's Cyclone series FPGAs deliver the bandwidth and processing performance needed, handling large amounts of data generated by today's HD WDR CMOS image sensors. In previous designs, HD WDR camera systems required FPGAs to perform the "front end" data processing while a digital signal processor or an ASSP handled the "back end" video encoding. Now, all of these chips can be replaced by a single Altera® FPGA.
The functions of Altera's HD surveillance IP camera reference design include:

By eliminating the need for digital signal processors or ASSPs and combining all of these functions into one Altera FPGA, designers can take advantage of the cost and power savings with reduced board space. Altera's single-chip solution reduces power consumption by more than 50 percent compared to previous designs.
The bundling of a comprehensive list of intellectual property in this reference design gives designers a head start in camera development, shortening development time by as much as one year. All camera designers have to do is customize the FPGA with their own specific features, such as adding their own software for motion detection, and pan, tilt and zoom control.
