Kaleidescape Introduces Next Generation Movie Players
New Movie Server Architecture, New User Interface, Blu-ray Support
SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 11 -- Kaleidescape, Inc., the market leader in movie servers, today announced its new M500 and M300 Players. Built on the company's proprietary M-Class architecture, this next generation of players delivers a new and improved onscreen user interface and Blu-ray support. Elbit Systems Completes Acquisition of Azimuth Technologies' Shares
HAIFA, Israel, May 11, 2010-- Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ:ESLT and TASE:ESLT) announced today,
further to its announcements on January 25, 2010, November 12, 2008 and
October 28, 2008, that it completed the acquisition of the balance of shares
in Azimuth Technologies Ltd. ("Azimuth") pursuant to the merger agreement
signed by Azimuth and Elbit Systems' wholly owned subsidiary, Elbit Security
Systems Ltd., in January 2010.
In November 2008, Elbit Systems purchased 19% of Azimuth's
shares. The purchase price for the balance of Azimuth's shares, following
certain adjustments made in accordance with the merger agreement, is
approximately US$ 41.5 million (155 million NIS).
Under the terms of the merger agreement, an amount of
approximately US$ 1.6 million (6 million NIS) of the purchase price will be

Verizon Business Introduces New Model for Cloud-Based Security
Security-as-a-Service Portfolio Offers More Simplicity, Flexibility and Cost-Effectiveness Than Traditional Security Offerings
BASKING RIDGE, N.J., May 11 -- Verizon Business unveiled on Tuesday (May 11) a new global, cloud-based security-as-a-service portfolio that offers enterprises the ability to quickly and easily add robust security services - with just the click of a mouse - and avoid purchasing expensive equipment.
Unlike many other managed security services, the new portfolio is not dependent on premises-based equipment. Instead, Verizon's offering is delivered via the company's global IP network. Customers can quickly and easily secure new locations with the latest security technology by using a centralized management console that allows for real-time provisioning and administration.
"Our new security platform represents a significant shift in how we are delivering security services to large and mid-size clients," said Peter Tippett, vice president of technology and innovation at Verizon Business. "By offering security-as-a-service, enterprises can tailor their security solutions to meet the unique needs of their business, with the ability to strengthen their security protection at a moment's notice."
These new offerings are ideal for geographically dispersed multinational companies that need to deploy security protection quickly and want to avoid the time and expense of buying, shipping and deploying equipment around the globe. The services are also well-suited for companies in the retail, financial and health care sectors that have multiple locations, as well as mid-tier firms.

Phased Approach to Rolling Out Cloud-Based Services
New cloud-based security services will be rolled out in three phases:
-- Beginning in June, Verizon public IP, as well as Private IP customers
with Secure Gateway, can leverage the new cloud-based MSS to gain
anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-malware and URL filtering services. These
"clean pipe" services will be integrated into Verizon's networking
offerings at no additional charge to customers.
-- Beginning this fall, Verizon will offer cloud-based support for
network firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
These services will be available separately and can be used to protect
Verizon networking offerings as well as connections from other
providers.
-- Beginning early next year, Verizon will make its enterprise-level
Denial of Service (DOS) detection and mitigation services available in
the cloud. This will offer mid-to-large organizations more control
and flexibility via the company's online portal.
Verizon MSS in the cloud will be powered by Verizon's IP global network, one of the most expansive networks in the world and supported by eight security service data centers located throughout the world.

Verizon Business Enhances European Network and Plans for Activation of Europe India Gateway Cable Later in 2010
Ultra-Long-Haul Network Enables High-Speed Routes and More Capabilities
READING, England, May 11 -- Verizon Business is enhancing its European network infrastructure to help meet data-growth demands of its enterprise customers and prepare for the activation of the Europe India Gateway submarine cable network system later this year.
Placing customer benefits at the forefront of the European infrastructure investment decisions, the company is expanding its ultra-long-haul network; increasing the number of new and diverse multiprotocol label switching nodes for Private IP customers; adding converged packet architecture sites to help customers move their services onto one common access interface; and making final preparations at the Marseille, France, cable terminal, where customer traffic will move from the 15,000-kilometer Europe India Gateway cable system directly onto the Verizon Business European network.
"We are enhancing the European network capabilities to prepare for the growth of traffic from the Middle East and India that will follow the implementation of new IP and Ethernet nodes as well as the next generation of cable systems currently under construction," said Ihab Tarazi, vice president of Verizon global network planning.
After completing the ULH expansion project throughout France, which will become a critical route to move traffic from the Europe India Gateway (EIG) cable to the Verizon Business European network, the company is focused on a 1,300-kilometer ULH expansion project in the United Kingdom and a new diverse link between Europe and the U.K. The company also is increasing the capability, as needed, of its ULH network, moving from 10 gigabits per second to 40G and even 100G on the Paris-to-Frankfurt route.
"Our multiyear ultra-long-haul program not only is a key factor for increasing our backbone network capacity, but also for what we can deliver to our customers," Tarazi said. "This network enables us to give our customers the higher speeds they need to support video, data and the expansion of data centers and cloud services."

With 214 global Private IP sites available on the Verizon Business network, the company plans to add more than 55 expansion sites within the next two years, including 22 sites in Europe and seven in the Middle East and India.
Verizon Business also is expanding its converged packet architecture (CPA) network in Europe this year, adding locations in Germany (Hamburg and Munich) and in the Netherlands (Rotterdam) to the 127 sites already on the global CPA network.
One of the most significant network enhancements to the European network during 2010 will be the activation of the EIG submarine cable system later this year. With more than 93 percent of the marine installation completed, this next-generation, undersea optical cable system will link 12 countries/territories and connect Europe, the Middle East and India, giving Verizon Business customers direct access to the company's European and India networks. Verizon Business is one of 16 companies building this cable.
"The EIG is using the most advanced technology available today for building submarine cables and will deliver significant capacity and diversity into many key areas," Tarazi said. With a design capacity of up to 3.84 terabits per second, the EIG cable will provide Verizon Business a second, diverse connection into the company's Marseille cable terminal. The Southeast Asia-Middle East-West Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4) submarine cable also lands at the Marseille site, and has diverse fiber routes and equipment rooms at the facility. Verizon Business is the only U.S.-based founding member of SEA-ME-WE 4.

These cameras are perfect for point-and-shoot users looking to advance from snapshots to creative photography as well as existing DSLR users searching for a no-compromise compact alternative.
Innovative Design
Unlike conventional DSLR models, the "mirrorless" construction of the new models reduces the thickness of both camera bodies to just about an inch at their slimmest point (excluding grip and mount portions). The NEX-5, constructed from magnesium alloy, and the NEX-3, with a polycarbonate casing, offer a newly developed 14.2 megapixel Exmor(TM) APS HD CMOS sensor. About 60 percent larger than the sensor in micro four-thirds cameras, this sensor is key to the exceptional image quality, extremely low image noise and creative defocus background effects that are familiar to DSLR users.
HD Movie Recording and Fast, Silent Autofocus
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 are the first alpha cameras to offer the extra convenience of high definition video recording. In addition to 720p HD recording, the NEX-5 also captures Full HD (1920 x 1080i) video in high-quality AVCHD files that can be easily enjoyed on a compatible HD television via the cameras built-in HDMI(TM) terminal (cable not included). Sweep Panorama
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 are the first alpha cameras featuring Sweep Panorama. Capturing large group shots is as easy as press-and-sweep. Sweep Panorama mode lets consumers capture breathtaking shots up to 226-degree horizontal or 151-degree vertical shots.
Both models will be ready for 3D Sweep Panorama this July (with firmware update). With 3D Sweep Panorama mode, these cameras can shoot 3D panoramic still images with a single lens. The high-speed burst of frames is stitched together using innovative processing techniques to automatically create detail-packed 3D panoramas. These files can be enjoyed in stunning 3D on compatible 3D televisions (other accessories may be required).
These cameras provide the advantages of multi-frame capture featured in Cyber-shot® cameras, including Hand-Held Twilight and Anti-motion Blur modes, which offer extraordinary low-light performance.
Simple To Use
Overcoming the complexity and intimidation that often come along with DSLR use, the NEX-5 and NEX-3 cameras have a new easy-to-use interface. It makes their performance advantages and features--including the techniques of creative photography--simple to master for consumers stepping up from compact digital still cameras and simultaneously offers easy access to the important camera controls that DSLR users demand.
Images and camera settings are displayed on the 3-inch (diagonal) wide-type Xtra Fine LCD(TM) display with TruBlack(TM) technology and 921k dot high resolution LCD that tilts up or down for comfortable viewing in any shooting position. The screen features an auto-brightness control function for excellent visibility, even outdoors. TruBlack screen technology enables an even more vivid, high-contrast view of images and camera settings.
E-Mount Lenses
Three new E-mount lenses are being introduced, including a 16mm F2.8 wide angle prime lens (model number SEL16F28), an 18mm-55mm F3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens (model number SEL1855) and an 18mm-200mm F3.5-6.3 (model number SEL18200) high magnification zoom lens.
The E-mount lenses provide the cameras with extreme compactness as well as the performance required for quiet continuous auto focus and auto exposure during HD video capture. These all new lenses are of premium construction, with brushed aluminum barrels and steel mounts. An optional LA-EA1 Mount Adaptor extends compatibility to the alpha family of 30 lenses, plus a huge range of other legacy A-mount lenses (Manual Focus only).
Ideal for everyday shooting, the low-profile E 16mm F2.8 lens minimizes bulk, allowing the camera to easily be carried in a coat, pants pocket, or purse. This lens' creative possibilities can be expanded even further by the VCL-ECU1 Ultra Wide Converter which provides a 12mm view, and VCL-ECF1 Fisheye Converter that delivers impressive curvi-linear distortion.
Featuring in-lens Optical SteadyShot(TM) image stabilization for clearer handheld images, the E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS zoom is a perfect travel partner. AUSTIN, Texas, May 10 -- ClearCube Technology, the leader in rack mounted secure workstations, blade PCs and centralized computing, today announced the launch of the R3040SS secure workstation blade and R3080DS secure blade PC, which deliver unprecedented network computer security, by utilizing the Intel Advanced Encryption Standard-New Instructions (AES-NI) for encryption acceleration and Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT).
The ClearCube R3040SS secure workstation blade and R3080DS secure blade PC incorporate the latest processor advancements from Intel that include AES-NI that facilitates full hardware-based AES acceleration. Therefore, organizations that rely on AES for data encryption can do so without the performance limitations. AES-NI is comprised of six new instructions that enhance overall encryption performance as well as guarding against side channel exploits. In software-only implementations of AES, side channels present a threat vector that can be utilized for attacks and represent significant risk of encryption key exposure. The new ClearCube secure blade workstations with Intel AES-NI eliminates that threat.
In addition, the ClearCube R3040SS secure workstation blade and R3080DS secure blade PC include Intel processors that are enabled with Intel TXT. The processor executes new SMX (Safer Mode Extensions) instructions, which generate a binary hash (a number generated by a formula) of all system software, including operating systems, applications and VMMs. The hash is performed in a secure area of the processor and the results are stored in the TPM. The new hash values are verified with the previous values before any software is allowed to start execution, thus preventing system tampering.

"Not only does ClearCube have the inherent security of placing the PC in the data center versus the desktop but they've also collaborated with Intel to deploy our latest security advancements in their blade workstations that mitigate many of the common threat vectors."
In addition to incorporating Intel's AES-NI and TXT into the architecture, ClearCube has included its patent-pending mass storage lockout capability in the R3080DS and R3040SS blade workstations. Mass storage lockout is a hardware security setting that prevents unauthorized storage devices from connecting to the ClearCube blade workstation.
