The new devices offer the lowest power holdover atomic clock technology without compromising size, weight and power (SWaP) while operating at a wide temperature range.
With an operating temperature range of -10 to 70 degrees Celsius, Microsemi's new CSAC components are highly reliable, with improved product design, process enhancements and robust product verification/validation. The revolutionary technology enables new applications and missions not possible in the past with traditional OCXO and Rubidium clocks, offering the lowest SWaP clock technology in the industry at 17 cubic centimeters (cc) in size, 35g of weight and only 120 milliwatts of power. Microsemi's CSAC product offers ±5.0E-11 accuracy at shipment and a typical <= 9.0E-10/month aging rate, which makes it suitable for many low power atomic clock holdover applications.

New Models Address a Variety of Custom Installation Needs

Designed specifically to meet the needs of custom installers, the STR-ZA3100ES, STR-ZA2100ES, and STR-ZA1100ES provide the best installation quality. Installer-Friendly features

One Player Does It All

herd allows them to easily identify cows when they are in heat, ill or simply not

The dashboard of the two-way App gives a very visual, easy to read update of what is

One of the advanced unique features of the App is that it provides farmers with Live
Behaviour Graphs mapping multiple kinds of behaviour relative to other cows within the
group. The MooMonitor+ App can be used to assess each cow or the number of animals
affected together and for how long. When the system detects sick cows it will send an
immediate notification direct to the farmer's mobile allowing them to intervene sooner.
 Veterinarians or AI technicians can have access to farms and can even monitor several
farms on their mobile.
Even assigning a collar to the cow is an easy task with the App. By simply swiping the
tag with a compatible phone, the smart technology allows for the cow's ear tag number to
be entered immediately onto the system removing the need to go back to the PC. The
innovative technology also allows for information about tasks/events carried out on farm,
such as insemination, preg check, BCS, health event, dry off and more to be directly
uploaded via the App. It is even possible to do real time drafting with the App.
One of the other unique things about this App, is information is re-computing every 15
minutes, therefore the farmer has up the minute information about the herd. The data is 8
times more granular than most systems on the market and contains more measurements of
animal behaviour than other systems. The MooMonitor+ measures the intensity of activity
and classifies it into 3 different intensities (other systems only have 1 intensity) and
it also knows the number of seconds of resting, feeding and rumination for each 15 minutes
of the day. Again most comparable systems have these in 2 hour intervals.
This advanced App is designed for both Apple and android phones. Much like Facebook,
the easy-to-use MooMonitor+ App software is cloud based and is accessible from anywhere in
the world on an unlimited number of devices and platforms across multiple languages which

WTIA Workforce Institute Officially Opens Registered Tech Apprenticeship Program, Apprenti, with First Participants in Initial Training Round
Program Receives Additional $200K in Funding from JP Morgan Chase to Expand High-Tech Job Opportunities for Women, Minorities, and Veterans in Washington State
SEATTLE, Sept. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The WTIA Workforce Institute today announced the opening of its registered apprenticeship program, Apprenti, the only tech apprenticeship accredited by the State of Washington and a first for the industry. Apprenti will recruit, train, and place at least 600 new tech workers during the pilot. The program focuses on under represented groups including women, minorities and veterans, helping bridge the skills and diversity gap and providing trained talent to the state's high-wage tech sector. Apprenti officially kicks off today and is currently accepting applications for its first round of participants this fall. The WTIA Workforce Institute also announced that Apprenti will receive an additional $200K in funding from JP Morgan Chase to cover the costs of training its first participants.
"Apprenti reinvents the way the tech industry approaches training, hiring and recruiting new talent," said Jennifer Carlson, Executive Director, WTIA Workforce Institute. Apprenti is operated by the WTIA Workforce Institute, the 501c3 sister organization to the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA). It is also partially funded through a grant from the American Apprenticeship Initiative (AAI) of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), with support from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) and JP Morgan Chase.
"The application of the apprenticeship model to the IT industry is exciting. Our partnership with WTIA to launch Apprenti has the potential to change the face of apprenticeships, moving from building trades to the cutting edge of technology," said Jody Robbins, program manager of apprenticeship at Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. "Diversifying our apprenticeship sponsors is as important for the expansion of the apprenticeship model as is diversifying the workforce for our new industry partners. Washington State is the top recruiter of tech talent in the country, with more than 8,000 new tech jobs per year. As demand for skilled workers grows, companies are also struggling to increase diversity among their workforce. The problem workers are facing is access. Less than twenty percent of the tech workforce is female and less than three percent is Hispanic or African American. There are an even smaller number of veterans working in the technology field. Apprenti will assist people within these under represented communities with a path and a plan for a successful career in technology and will help the industry and Apprenti hiring partners like Microsoft and F5 Networks meet the demand for diverse and skilled tech talent.

Partial Update Technology Speeds Up and Enhances User Experiences of E-Paper Displays
TAINAN CITY, Taiwan, September 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Pervasive Displays (PDi), a world leader in e-paper displays today announced the
availability of partial update display driving technology across its range of electronic
ink e-paper displays (EPD). E-paper is a bistable technology, which means that energy is
only consumed when the display is changing. Once it has changed, the display consumes no
energy and continues to show information, even when disconnected from its power
source. Rather than update the whole display image when part of it changes, known as a
global or full update, a partial update (or local update) only refreshes the pixels that
need to be changed. This approach greatly enhances the user's visual experience since it
does not create the blinking effect typically associated with a global update when all
pixels are refreshed. In addition, this method of update takes less time and consumes much
less power, further improving the user's visual interaction with the display. A partial
update cycle takes around 300 - 600 ms which is a quarter of the time typically required
for a global update on a similar monochrome display. The partial update uses two data
buffers to contain the current and new images, and by comparing these, the pixels that
require updating are identified.
The partial update display driving technology has been integrated into the graphics
libraries of the semiconductor vendors supported, these including Texas Instruments (TI)
and Microchip. Examples of application areas for this type of technology are smart home
devices such as thermostats and home appliances; Internet of Things (IoT) applications
like alarm systems, sensor devices and public information boards; and personal devices
such as name badges, healthcare devices and electronic bag tags.

7invensun Launches the World's First VR Eye Tracking Module At GTC CHINA 2016

Designed for a variety of lighting conditions, the Home Cinema 3100, Home Cinema 3700 and Home Cinema 3900 feature up to 3,000 lumens of color brightness and 3,000 lumens of white brightness(1). Delivering enhanced detail in Full HD 1080p with up to a 120,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, the projectors include advanced Epson Image Enhancement Technology for sharp and refined images with lifelike smoothness and clarity.

In addition, the projectors' 1.6x zoom ensures easy installation in virtually any room, even on tight shelf spaces. For example, users can project a 110-inch image from just 10.5 feet away - the wide vertical lens shift and zoom lens make positioning easy for a range of environments.
