To anyone who hasn't seen it demonstrated, 3-D printing sounds futuristic. But the technology is quite straightforward: It is a small evolutionary step from spraying toner on paper to putting down layers of something more substantial (such as plastic resin) until the layers add up to an object. And yet, by enabling a machine to produce objects of any shape, on the spot and as needed, 3-D printing really is ushering in a new era, and it is evident that 3D printing is here to stay.
Low-cost 3D printers could be set for every home, just like most homes have an inkjet printer today. The global 3-D printing market was valued at $2.3 billion in 2013 and is anticipated to reach $8.6 billion by 2020 for a compounding annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.6%. To put that into perspective, the smartphone industry is expected to experience a 6% CAGR from 2015-2020.

This contract advances our Corporate Strategic Plan to enter into the bid process for several regional and government contracts in China as well as entering other Asian emerging markets. The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology is setting up a project that will see $313 million invested in 3D printing technology over the next three years. The funding will be focused on research and development of 3D printers, equipment, and novel 3D printing applications. 3D printing market growth within China is expected to remain around 40%, with production expected to exceed $3 billion from 2016 and 2020.

Ramsey County Debut of New Election Technology is Smooth, Secure
Verity Voting System Sails through State Primary on Way to November Ballot

ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ramsey County put its new Verity® Voting system to the test in the August 9 state primary election. The system passed with flying colors. Verity, federally certified in 2015, is the latest voting technology from Hart InterCivic.
Election officials in Ramsey County, with nearly 300,000 registered voters, reported widespread satisfaction from both voters and election judges.
"We had an all-time record low number of complaints about any voting system," said Ramsey County Election Manager Joe Mansky, whose department oversees 172 precincts and more than 1,400 poll workers. "When judges went out at 6 a.m. on Election Day to open the polls, there were no problems reported. That's remarkable," he said.
For Mansky, who made a secure system a top priority in selecting Verity last October, the close of Election Day was also a milestone. "With Verity, each ballot counter came back to headquarters completely under lock and seal and was opened there," he emphasized.
"The strength of this system is its security features," Mansky said. "There is no networking, no modem, nothing connected to the outside world. Not even our county election servers are networked."
Verity, which meets rigorous standards set by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and the State of Minnesota, has been adopted in five states eager to replace aging equipment leading up to the November general election. The launches have been smooth.

The Tyton VS2 is a ruggedized small form factor box-level video encoding and streaming
solution designed to serve video transmission needs in harsh field environments.
The MIL-STD-810G and IP67 compliant Tyton VS2 is capable of capturing two 3G-SDI
inputs simultaneously and encoding them using the highly versatile H.265 (HEVC) or H.264
(AVC) video encoding standards. Both video inputs can be internally split and routed to
each of the product's eight built-in dynamic encoding engines (1080p60 encoding utilizes
two engines and HD utilizes a single engine); each individually configurable to different
bitrates. This is very useful in mission applications where each incoming video signal can
utilize a high bitrate encoding for local recording and viewing, while a second low
bitrate encoding serves downlink transfers over an RF link.
Each of the Tyton VS2's eight dynamic encoding cores can individually be configured to
encode to H.264 or H.265 standards using software API settings, allowing true future
proofing of existing installations looking to utilize H.265 in the future. The Tyton VS2
also features an internal video (3G-SDI) bypass and overcomes the need for an external
video splitter.

CULVER CITY, Calif., Aug. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) and Intel Corporation today announced that ULTRA, SPHE's 4K movie streaming service, will debut on computers powered by 7th Gen Intel® Core(TM) processors beginning Q1 in 2017.
Coinciding with the expanded availability of the service, ULTRA will add new features like 48 hour rentals and free 10 minute previews, allowing customers to experience a sample of any film on the service in full 4k resolution before buying.
With its new 7th Gen Intel Core processor, Intel is bringing 4K content to mainstream PC users. This latest processor sets a higher bar for richer experiences and incredible performance and responsiveness, with long battery life and true 4K entertainment. More than 100 stunning new devices powered by 7(th) Gen Intel Core will be available this holiday season, and some will be available as early as September.
By leveraging new hardware security technologies in its processor, computers powered by 7(th) Gen Intel Core will be the first PCs to provide secure access to premium 4K movies and television content through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's ULTRA 4K service.

The TC90175XBG has a reduced frame memory and targets applications that do not require two-picture composition. Users can select the IC they require for their application.
Like the TC90195XBG, the new TC90175XBG processor can simultaneously output two digital video signals to two panels from two different input signals, and the picture-separation function can split one input signal into two and output them independently to two panels, at resolutions including 1920x1080 (LVDS output) and 1366x768 (LVTTL output). The TC90175XBG's two-channel picture-improver adds two new area-adaptive gamma-correction circuits to the existing dynamic YC gamma, color management and HVD enhancement capabilities.
