Casio to Release First Partnership Model With Scuderia Toro Rosso
MONZA, Italy, Sept. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the release of a new addition to the EDIFICE line of metal sport watches, which combine dynamic design with advanced technology. The new EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition, EFR-554TR, marks Casio's first partnership model with the Formula One team Scuderia Toro Rosso.
With a big event at the Energy Station in the Paddock Harald Schroeder, Head of Marketing Casio Europe, and Franz Tost, Team Principal Scuderia Toro Rosso, introduced an exciting competition between the two Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers: Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat were tested about their knowledge of Italy. They have been asked questions about monuments, food, and fashion evolving in time in a situation that was not exactly comfortable for them: they were indeed riding a stationary bicycle and their time was of course beaten by an EFR-554TR Casio watch. The result? A neck and neck challenge that ended-up with a fair hand shake.
In January of this year, Casio became an official partner of the Scuderia Toro Rosso racing team. The company believes the team's youthful dynamism, momentum, and passionate pursuit of speed, paired with its racing cars powered by outstanding technological innovations, make Scuderia Toro Rosso a perfect match for the EDIFICE brand concept of "Speed and Intelligence."
The new EFR-554TR is an exclusive model to commemorate the official partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso. Team color red is used to accent the second hand and the hands of the inset dials, while navy blue and gold are used as accent colors in various other places such as the case as well as the hour and minute hands. The team's logo is emblazoned on the watch face and back cover. The three inset dials evoke motor sports, giving an even sportier look to this model. The new watch is specially packaged and comes with a display stand and a commemorative card.
Shigenori Itoh, Senior Executive Managing Officer and Senior General Manager, Global Marketing Headquarters, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., had this to say: "I am proud to be able to launch a watch that symbolizes our official partnership with the youthful and promising Scuderia Toro Rosso. We look forward to the future success of the team."
Franz Tost also had words about the new product: "I have been looking forward to our partnership model created under the dynamic and innovative EDIFICE brand. I hope to promote even closer ties between our two organizations."

Reality (VR) chainsaw game - Husqvarna Limberjack. Via Valve's platform Steam, the game is

world for the month, and in August 2017, the twelve best Limberjack players will be
invited to the world championships final in Sweden.

good technique. It refers to the process of removing branches from a fallen tree before
the log is transported away. Husqvarna Limberjack is inspired by one of the five
disciplines from the World Logging Championship, a bi-annual competition that gathers the
150 best loggers from around the world. The current world reccord in real limbing is less

Seeing the Future, Chinese Washing Machine Manufacturer Little Swan Leads New Home Appliance Era with Beverly II
BERLIN, Germany, Sept. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The home appliance industry, an industry that is key to making day-to-day life easier for every individual on this planet, continued to be the hotspot at the IFA held in Berlin from the 4(th) to the 7(th) of September. Chinese washing machine manufacturer Little Swan attracted a lot of attention from visitors and the media at the event.
New products exhibited by the Chinese manufacturer at the show included recently developed high-end washing machine products, including the Beverly II series (the Beverly II pulsator washing machine, the Beverly II drum washing machine and Beverly II dryer), the Smart Hybrid washing machine and the Disney retro washing machine, launched in partnership with the Walt Disney Company. Little Swan, which generally keeps a low profile at home and abroad, attracted extensive interest from visitors to the exhibition with several newly created high-end products. The luxurious and refined exterior and high-end customized interior are the most notable characteristics of the Beverly II line of products.
According to information revealed at the show, for the Beverly II products, the manufacturer not only maintained the highly disciplined approach that Chinese artisans have towards its handcrafted goods, but also adopted the advanced European Kimber process as a component of the production protocols. The brand has combined the diamond cutting process with seamless welder technology when building the machine bodies, followed by polishing masters who spend more than 300 hours in polishing the machine surfaces. The highly refined exterior has won great applause from visitors, while the interior components fully demonstrate the power of "intelligently made in China".
In addition to the features of the first generation of Beverly washing machines, the Beverly II series comes equipped with a brand-new smart customized system comprised of a personalized user interface allowing for customized clothes washing and aftercare processes as well as a more user-friendly and accurate detergent delivery system, creating an unprecedented experience for users in terms of the end-to-end laundry process. Visitors are not only getting to see new products, but also to catch a glimpse of what the future may look like! Little Swan, as a representative of Chinese brands, is at the forefront of the smart washing machine market.
At IFA, the washing machine maker from China is showcasing to the world the fruits of its 38 years of craftsmanship, with the Beverly II series of washing machines as the latest masterpieces. Little Swan products exhibited at the event once again served to change the popular perception among foreign consumers that Chinese-made products are cheap and of poor quality. The finely-crafted Beverly II series of products also corrects the geographical prejudice on craftsmanship - the countries of Europe and North America are not the sole masters of technology, while Chinese engineers are showing themselves to be quite impressive in what they can design and deliver.
At IFA and at similar events around the world, Little Swan is showing the world what defines a master creation, as well as the Chinese brand's determination to succeed in the international arena. Just maybe, the Beverly II lineup will be what leads a new trend in the world of domestic appliances.

Wacom Is Making the Future of Paper Notebooks: The New Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio Smartpads
Paper notebooks are often the last analog link within an otherwise fully digital life. With two smartpads and a range of new features in Wacom Inkspace, Wacom now offers a smooth and intuitive digital notetaking experience -- seamlessly bridging the gap between paper notes and the digital workflow.
BERLIN, Sept. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- At IFA 2016, Wacom introduces the Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio smartpads. Two attractive and functional designs, two different paper sizes, and the new features of the Wacom Inkspace app and cloud services, including vector output and handwriting to text, offer users a range of choices to bring ideas from paper to the cloud and into the digital workflow -- at home, at school and at work.
"Paper notebooks still play an essential role at the beginning of the idea process," said Mike Gay, Senior Vice President for Wacom's Consumer Business Unit. "They are often the last analog step within an otherwise fully digital lifestyle. So our goal was simple: add the benefits of digital technology to the paper notebook and create an intuitive tool to help make ideas, no matter where and how they start."
Making the future of paper notebooks
Bamboo Folio and Bamboo Slate seamlessly bridge the gap between paper notes and the digital life with smartphones, cloud services and PCs. The smartpads are based on Wacom's EMR (Electro Magnetic Resonance) pen technology and make use of WILL(TM), Wacom's digital ink. This allows users to start their ideas with a pen on their favorite paper and with a simple push of a button turn their handwritten notes or sketches into digital files and save them in the Wacom Inkspace app.
"The challenge of paper is that it's final and difficult to share," explains Mike Gay. "But in Wacom's Inkspace, those handwritten notes are now living digitally, so users can edit their handwriting to shape their ideas and share them." The Wacom Inkspace app works on any Bluetooth enabled iOS or Android(TM) smartphone and tablet and offers all the advantages of working digitally, including easy editing, organizing and sharing. Features like the real time mode, the undo and redo option, as well as the pressure sensitivity make it intuitive and efficient.
When connected to the cloud, Inkspace offers even more benefits with a paid subscription. Users can now export their sketches as vector (.SVG) files, making them available for editing in creative software. The handwriting to text feature now supports rich text, which means bullet points and paragraphs are captured in the text. Inkspace offers a free and a paid subscription model.
#makingthefuture
To showcase the advantages of digital notetaking and to highlight the full potential of ink-based collaboration in the cloud, Wacom invites visitors at the IFA booth and followers on social media to start #makingthefuture and share their ideas about what they think the world should look like in the future. Topics range from the future of communication to new expressions in art. A sketch note artist will combine the input into a cohesive piece of digital art. These ideas will be captured and shared in an upcoming ebook.
Innovative design for individual workflows
Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio are designed to meet individual demands and support different uses ranging from notetaking and light sketching to mind mapping and visual thinking. The extended line-up of smartpads includes three different versions:
-- Bamboo Slate is a slim smartpad to quickly capture ideas. It comes in a
small (A5 / half letter) and large (A4/ letter) format.
-- Bamboo Folio features an integrated cover with extra slots for business
cards and other documents. It is designed to keep notes safe and ideas
organized and comes in a large (A4 / letter) format.
Inkspace brings the promise of digital stationery to life
Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio connect to the new Wacom Inkspace app, which keeps all digital notes safely stored. Here they can easily be edited and shared. The app exports notes as JPG, PNG, PDF or WILL(TM) file formats and makes them available for Bamboo Paper, Inkspace, Dropbox, Evernote and OneNote. The Inkspace app is based on WILL(TM) universal ink and can be connected to the Inkspace cloud service, which offers subscriptions to a range of features for a tailor-made suite of digital solutions.
The free Inkspace Basic subscription only requires a sign up to the free Wacom ID. It provides safe storage of 5GB in the cloud and allows easy sharing across different devices including smartphones, tablets and computers to access ideas anytime from everywhere. The advanced Inkspace Plus subscription available on the Wacom Marketplace unlocks even more features for a professional workflow. It converts handwriting to rich text, includes vector export in SVG and searches handwritten notes for further editing, quick recall and increased productivity. It offers 50 GB storage, professional sharing in teams and allows real-time collaboration in editable digital ink files.
These ideas will be captured and shared in an upcoming ebook.

Introducing The New Stylus Family for a Connected Life: Bamboo Omni, Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo
In our connected world we are constantly changing between smartphones, tablets and different operating systems to complete even simple tasks. Wacom introduces a new stylus family that allows for quick input and precise response across different mobile devices. The Bamboo Omni is a fine-tip stylus, that works instantly on most iOS and Android(TM) touchscreens with a simple twist. The re-imagined Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo feature a new stylish, comfortable design for precise navigation and a clean touchscreen. Now navigating or writing on a touchscreen is as intuitive and comfortable as a favorite pen.
BERLIN, Sept. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wacom(®) redefines the stylus experience with the introduction of the Bamboo Omni, an innovative fine-tip stylus that works on most iOS and Android touchscreens, and the updated Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo styli. With the new line-up Wacom offers an intuitive, ergonomic and stylish solution to the challenges of touchscreens, allowing users to easily navigate through their digital lives and quickly capture their ideas.
"When a new idea crosses our minds or we quickly need to make a note, we intuitively reach for a pen. From our research we knew the Bamboo Omni, like a favorite pen, needed to be simple to use, have broad compatibility and have a fine tip," said Mike Gay, Senior Vice President for Wacom's Consumer Business Unit. "The new Bamboo Omni is the perfect pen for a connected life. It's fast -- just twist it to turn it on and you're ready to work on Android and iOS touchscreens." The fine tip and its broad compatibility mean that someone using the Bamboo Omni can immediately transition from drawing on a Snapchat or WeChat photo on a smartphone, to marking up a PDF or creating a list on a tablet.
Bamboo Omni -- The stylus with a twist
This fine-tip stylus is designed for quick note taking and provides an intuitive experience in note-taking apps, such as Bamboo Paper. A simple twist and the Bamboo Omni is ready to use -- no pairing needed. The stylus instantly works across iOS and Android touchscreen devices.
The stylus uses the innovative RES (Reflective Electro Static) technology and is charged via USB. The 1.9 mm thin tip is durable and soft on the screen. The Bamboo Omni has an ergonomic triangular design and a premium soft-touch surface that feels comfortable and well-balanced. The stylus is available in black or white.
Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo -- A better touchscreen experience
The Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo have a fresh new look and, like the Bamboo Omni, feature a comfortable triangle shape and soft-touch surface. The Bamboo Solo and Bamboo Duo allow for a more precise, smudge-free interaction with all touchscreen devices. The long-lasting and replaceable carbon fiber tip works smoothly on all touchscreens including iOS, Android or Windows® smartphones, tablets or PCs. The Bamboo Duo combines this with a replaceable ballpoint pen added at the opposite end of the pen, turning it into a two-in-one stylus for fluid writing on screens and on paper.
#makingthefuture
To share the ideas that the new stylus line enables, Wacom is celebrating the innovators worldwide with #makingthefuture. Live from IFA, Wacom invites attendees to create and share their vision of the future using Wacom's tools, including the new stylus line, the Bamboo smartpads and the new cloud-based Inkspace. Hikvision Introduces Advanced Thermal Cameras for Visually-Challenging Applications
HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Continually seeking to push technology forward in high-end surveillance markets, Hikvision announces new Thermal Cameras, adding to their world-renowned security products. Customers worldwide will be excited to learn of Hikvision's complete product line-ups for vertical solutions.
All objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit some degree of thermal radiation. This kind of radiation, which is not visible to the human eye, can be detected by thermal sensors. Hikvision thermal sensors remain unaffected by darkness or fickle weather conditions such as rain, fog, or snow. These cameras make a great platform on which to build more efficient 24/7 surveillance systems.
Superior Images
Thermal products carry surveillance abilities that traditional visual imaging alone is not able to provide. Integrated with their self-developed thermal imaging module, Hikvision thermal cameras capture vivid, high-resolution HD video of moving objects at resolutions up to 640 x 512 pixels, unhindered by either darkness or inclement weather. These cameras also offer greater detail for post-event investigation.
Hikvision Thermal Cameras feature three innovative functionalities in image quality enhancement: Auto Gain Control, Digital Detail Enhancement, and 3D Digital Noise Reduction, further to make images even sharper.
Smart Functions
Equipped with onboard video analytics, Hikvision thermal cameras boast a full quiver of "smart" features, including line crossing detection and intrusion detection for perimeter protection. Additionally, temperature-anomaly and fire detection effectively help prevent fires, structural hazards, and many other threats to persons and property.
Thermal imaging is critical in open and expansive areas like borders, coastlines, and forests. They are quite at home in applications such as perimeter patrol, ports and harbors, critical infrastructure, processing and manufacturing plants, and various similar and demanding security environments.

The Altitude32 Honored As Best High-End Home Theater Product 2016-2017
PARIS, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Trinnov Altitude(32) has just been selected the Best Product 2016-2017 in the High-End Home Theater category by the European Imaging and Sound Association. For 34 years, EISA magazines from all over Europe and the Home Theater Audio Expert Group have been jointly reviewing and nominating products, and subsequently selecting the best for this prestigious award
The company started writing the product specification for the Altitude(32) at the end of 2013 with the intent of establishing a new reference in the High-End AV processor market by leveraging the company's unique know-how and core technologies. Within less than a year, the Altitude(32) was introduced at CEDIA with the world's first Dolby Atmos for the Home demonstration, featuring more than 12 discrete channels.
After 2½ years of intensive work and commitment, we are excited and honored to receive this unique and meaningful recognition.
Here is the citation from EISA's president Paul Miller:
"Serious home cinema enthusiasts seeking the very best experience need look no further than Trinnov Audio's Altitude(32). Able to output up to 32 discrete channels, this is no ordinary home cinema processor. Advanced, fully-customizable room optimization and equalization enables it to tailor its sound to the specific speaker layout and characteristics of a home theatre, and it will map any Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or Auro-3D native feed without breaking into a sweat. The outcome is a reference-class performance, with the Altitude(32) bringing astonishing clarity and definition, scale and presence, to movie soundtracks. Software-based architecture means it is ready for future updates, and despite its state-of-the-art feature set, operation is always easy with networked control from a PC, smartphone or tablet."
Richard Stevenson, journalist from Home Cinema Choice, the EISA Magazine partner in the UK reviewed the Altitude(32) in last month's issue. He concluded:
"How to sum up the Altitude(32)? There's probably no more flexible AV processor currently available for home cinema. Its ability to switch fleet-footed between sound formats is remarkable; its sound is precise, authoritative and balanced. Yes, it's expensive, but the best things often are."
Jochen Schmitt reviewed the Altitude(32) in the July issue of Heimkino in Germany and ended his article with the following:
"The AV processor Altitude(32) from the French manufacturer Trinnov is the ultimate machine to bring professional standards of fidelity to home theaters. Trinnov's Optimizer technology works perfectly and makes it possible to handle even the most complex systems. Our new reference."
Finally, a recently-published review by Doug Blackburn of the US-based magazine Widescreen Review (not a member of EISA) describes his experience with the Altitude(32) thusly:
"The Altitude(32) made music sound so good that one-hour evaluations turned into three-hour listening fests. Sometimes I would pick several albums in a row that were so compelling to hear at this level of performance that I would end up listening to the entire album rather than a track or two....
"You may be thinking ahead and assuming if music sounded that good, then movie sound was equally impressive. Well, hold on for just a second. That's a bit presumptive. Presumptive but correct. Movie sound was impeccable. It didn't matter if the soundtrack was 5.1, 7.1, Atmos, DTS:X, or Auro-3D, they all sounded great....
"If the Altitude32 fits within your equipment budget, you can't go wrong. The combination of precision, sound quality, flexibility, adjustability, and stability the Altitude(32) offers are unbeatable."
More reviews of the Altitude(32) from EISA partners (and others) will be released over the next several months, including magazines from Finland, Italy, Spain and Sweden.

DropIn, Inc. launches exclusive beta for on-demand live video drones (featuring two-way audio)
Expanding their suite of live video capabilities for policy acquisition and management for insurers.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DropIn, Inc. has launched (in exclusive beta) on-demand live video drone deployment for insurers. Unique to DropIn, the stream features two-way audio, allowing the adjuster to direct the drone pilot to the exact area they'd like to cover, placing them in the driver's seat - while remaining in their office.
This technological advancement presents another convenience for insurers seeking to preview risk for underwriting, supplementing any current live video they use for policy acquisition and claim management purposes. Drones not only minimize the risk to claims professionals during damage assessment rooftop inspections, but in the instance of a catastrophe, adjusters will no longer be restricted from accessing an insured property. The live-streamed aerial coverage also helps insurers process more claims in a shorter period of time.
"With the fires in the west, and the flooding down south, providing adjusters access to drones will save a lot of time and frustration for the claimant experiencing the loss, and the adjuster trying to help," says founder Louis Ziskin.
At present, DropIn offers solutions for risk evaluation, fraud reduction, and data analysis during the complete risk life cycle. From the time of the quote, to purchase, claim, and ultimately renewal, insurers can communicate with their customers in a multitude of ways. These include, direct to customer, field, and partner resources, or DropIn's on-demand workforce of Droperators and Drone Pilots (who act as a proxy, and third party verification).
About DropIn
The DropIn platform enables insurers to use on-demand live video for policy acquisition and management by harnessing the power of the video camera inside the smartphone that nearly everyone carries. It eliminates the need for the underwriter/claims adjuster to travel and provides access to customer with unprecedented immediacy. Live video options include direct to customer, direct to field or partner resource, our on-demand workforce known as Droperators, and on-demand drones. Bronze, Nylon, and Polycarbonate
3Doodler [http://3doodlerpro.com ], maker of the original 3D printing pen, today

PRO. The sleek tool is designed for creative professionals such as architects, engineers
and artists, and is ideal for prototyping designs, concept development, and communicating
their creative vision in unique 3D form.
Unlike other pens on the market, the new PRO plastics include wood, copper, bronze,
nylon, and polycarbonate, complementing the 65+ compatible varieties of plastic from the
3Doodler Create range. The PRO is the only 3D printing pen that can use these new

Maxwell Bogue, Co-Founder & CEO said: "Beyond the numerous upgrades, what really makes
the PRO so unique is how the device and materials come together to answer the needs of
professionals. When we started the 3Doodler journey back in 2013, we had world-leading
architects telling us "I want to do this". "This" was a quick wave of the pen in the air,
with plastic solidifying in its wake. With new materials like polycarbonate that dream is
a reality. The high-performance PRO can be used for the most advanced of purposes to bring
concepts to life, and become an integral part of the creative process."

display to show the pen's settings. Encased in a lightweight carbon fiber shell, the pen's
radically re-engineered drive system is designed specifically for the range of new
materials exclusive to the PRO. In combination with the high-speed fan, polycarbonate
plastic can be used to create a solid structure in one swift gesture, making it ideal to
quickly sketch out blueprints, either on a surface or in the air.
Daniel Cowen, Co-President, said: "The 3Doodler has outsold any other 3D printing
device on the global market. We now have pens specifically designed for crafters, adults,
children, and with this, the most advanced pen ever, professionals. Whether you're eight
or 80 years old, hobbyist or professional, the 3Doodler range of products has never been
more inclusive. After being first to market, we are now pushing the boundaries of 3D
creation to ever more users and use-cases."
The pen is packaged in a premium storage case, together with accompanying accessories,
