Clackamas County Pioneers New Voting Technology in Oregon
Blazing the Trail to Complete First Election with Hart InterCivic's Verity® Voting
OREGON CITY, Ore., Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Clackamas County is known for its pioneering spirit, an attitude born in the 1840s when the area was settled by the rugged travelers of the Oregon Trail. No surprise this trailblazing county's election officials were the first in the State to adopt Verity Voting by Hart InterCivic, the most technologically advanced election system available in the U.S.
"We like to be first and we take pride in moving ahead," said Sherry Hall, Clackamas County Clerk. "Choosing Verity was a natural choice to upgrade our older system. It's a new technology that will serve our voters well for years to come."
Clackamas County officials carefully scrutinized Verity before they embraced the new technology.
"I observed demos at other counties and at national conferences, and Clackamas County was tapped to host the Oregon certification process with State officials and other counties coming here to observe," Hall said. "I had great confidence in Hart customer support. We were sold."
An agreement was reached in July. By the November 3 special election, Verity was in place for the County's 230,000 registered voters. "We were thrilled with the ease of Verity," Hall said. Hall's concern about teaching the new system to temporary election workers with little computer experience proved wrong. "They loved it!" Hall said. "They said it was so much easier and streamlined."
With the success of November's general election, Clackamas County is ready for the much larger May 2016 primary kicking off the presidential election season. Hall noted that the County expects to hire more than 100 temporary election workers in May and is confident they can handle the new, efficient process. "I am especially pleased with Hart customer service and the depth and breadth of their experience. They have more than 100 years in the election business, and we get quick response from Hart when needed."
"We expect many other Oregon counties to follow in Clackamas County's footsteps with Verity," said Phillip Braithwaite, President and CEO of Hart InterCivic. "No other newly certified voting system is built on years of experience serving the needs of the State's election administrators and voters."

Independent Voting for Visually Impaired in Bedford County, Pennsylvania
Director of Elections Inspired by Dad to Train Citizens on Hart InterCivic System
BEDFORD, Pa., Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- When Jill Gordon's father lost his sight, he lost some of his independence. Now, Jill, the new Director of Elections for Bedford County, is helping her father and others who are visually impaired regain their independence and privacy in the voting booth.
Jill Gordon was inspired to teach her county's voters about the accessible ballots available to them after a hands-on demonstration from a Hart InterCivic trainer.
"When I saw that this technology would allow my dad to vote with no one helping him, I stood there and I cried," Gordon said. "Now I know it can be done and I want poll workers and those with disabilities to know, too."
Setting up a Hart voting machine in training mode, Gordon has staged several sessions to introduce the audio ballot with Braille markings to visually impaired citizens. They've even been featured on local television.
In April, Gordon trained a long-time voter who was accustomed to whispering his answers to a helper and hoping that his vote was recorded correctly.
"Once he realized there were Braille labels, he was reading the directions to me first!" Gordon said. "In May he voted independently for the first time in his life. That's what I count as success."
Using headphones, an electronic reader and audio alerts for potential mismarks, the Hart Voting System developed by Hart InterCivic allows voters with disabilities to vote independently, even if they cannot see the ballot.
"The biggest thing is that the person doesn't have to be embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help. We don't want voting to be intimidating," Gordon added.
Ballots are cast, counted and stored no differently than any other ballot in the local jurisdiction, assuring a private vote for anyone using accommodations. Making voting equipment accessible to every citizen is a priority for Hart InterCivic, a leading election innovator.
The Austin-based firm incorporates numerous features for voters with visual impairments, blindness, or severe mobility impairments:
-- Controls within reach for voters who use wheelchairs
-- Audio ballots accessible through headphones
-- Audible sounds to alert voters who are blind or visually impaired if
their ballot contains mismarks that require attention
-- Instructions in Braille and large print
-- Easy mobility for curbside voting, where allowed

Chelan County Debuts New Voting Technology in Washington
First Election with Hart InterCivic's Verity® Voting System Foretells Future Successes
WENATCHEE, Wash., Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As counties across the nation consider replacing aging voting systems with a major election year ahead, one Washington County took the lead by upgrading to the newest fully integrated election system certified in the nation, Verity Voting by Hart InterCivic. Chelan County officials are confident in their choice and timing. Neighboring Douglas County followed Chelan County's lead, purchasing Verity for implementation in early 2016.
"Looking ahead to the presidential election in 2016, we wanted to bring in new technology and take it out for a run during 2015," said Skip Moore, Chelan County Auditor. "Our smooth November 3 election showed that Verity was the right choice for our upgrade."
Verity proved itself to Chelan County officials before they embraced the new technology. Moore's office was tapped to help the Secretary of State test the system for Washington, which requires State as well as federal certification.
"I was very confident in the quality of Verity, having gone through the State certification process," Moore said. "Plus, we've worked with Hart before, and we are sold on Hart's customer support."
Chelan County, with 40,000 registered voters, was one of 10 jurisdictions across the nation to use the newly certified Verity system for November 3 general elections.
"Based on our years of experience working with Chelan County and 25 other Washington counties, we expect numerous other Washington counties will follow Chelan County's lead in adopting Verity," said Phillip Braithwaite, President and CEO of Hart InterCivic. "The system incorporates the latest state-of-the-art technology, with a foundation based on the proven, robust legacy of our first-generation system that these jurisdictions have been successfully using for nearly a decade."
The new Verity system is a suite of software and hardware designed from the ground up with input from Chelan County and other Washington customers to incorporate the State's specific needs into the system. The modular design is flexible enough to leverage new technologies over time.
For voters in Chelan County, the transition was easy because the new ballots look the same, Moore said. Voting for the visually impaired or disabled was enhanced with the Verity Touch Writer, an accessible device voters use to mark and print their ballots to be counted along with all others.
"With Verity, we now have a paper ballot for every vote. I can assure the voting public that our results are verified. In close votes, I can point to two stacks of ballots right here on my desk," Moore said.
For election staff and other stakeholders, the biggest improvement is the state-of-the-art ballot tally solution, a streamlined and time-saving scanning process.
"Yes, this system is economical and efficient, but most importantly, our voters can be sure that the count is true and accurate," said auditor Moore. "Hart made the transition easy, and we are excited and confident as we look ahead to a busy election year."

Stratasys 3D Printing Solutions Integral to Launch New Light-Weight, Solar Powered 'e-floater' Electric Scooter
BADEN BADEN, Germany, December 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
"We would have not been able to take this product from development to launch without
using Stratasys 3D printing to develop a working prototype - it's as simple as that,"
Oliver Risse, Floatility's founderÂ
Fully-functional 3D printed prototypes produced 50% faster using both FDM and PolyJet
3D printing technologies from Stratasys in comparison to silicon molding Â
Stratasys EMEA, a subsidiary of Stratasys Ltd [http://www.stratasys.com ].
(Nasdaq:SSYS), the 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions company, today
announced that German start-up business, Floatility GmbH, has developed a
first-of-its-kind, lightweight, solar-powered, electric scooter using both Stratasys
PolyJet and FDM 3D printing technology.
With the objective to 'redefine the modern way of travelling in cities worldwide', the
'e-floater' scooter houses an electric-motor and drives on three wheels, enabling users to
stand upright and ride freely without physical exertion. As an 'intelligent' vehicle, the
e-floater is also able to communicate to its owner in real time where it is located and
the condition it is in.
In order meet the product's launch date of November, Floatility utilized both
Stratasys FDM and PolyJet 3D printing technologies throughout the product development
phase to create a working prototype. An additional benefit was that this was achieved
significantly more cost-effectively than using traditional methods.
"The need to build prototypes that exactly resembled the final product and that would
enable us to test everything thoroughly was vital to the successful launch of this product,
" says Oliver Risse, Floatility's founder. "3D printing was essential in this regard as it
allowed the team to physically test the design and concept of e-floater as if it were the
final product. This not only sped up the product development cycle, but dramatically
reduced our product development costs. We would have not been able to take this product
from concept to launch without using Stratasys 3D printing solutions to develop a working
prototype - it's as simple as that."
Developing an advanced prototype that accurately resembles the final productÂ
As well as improved time and cost efficiencies, the decision to use multiple Stratasys
3D printing technologies was also based on the capability to combine different materials
in one print, which enabled the prototype versions to comprise both soft and hard
materials.
According to Risse, the less favourable alternative would have been to use silicon
molding to create the prototype. "This was not ideal for a number of reasons," he says.
"Not only would it have entailed an assembly of up to 20 parts, but the costs would have
been significantly higher and the production time would have been double to that
achievable with 3D printing."
"The e-floater is a perfect example of how 3D printing enables designers and inventors
to turn their concepts into fully-operational products quickly and cost-effectively,"
concludes Andy Middleton, President, Stratasys, EMEA. "In this case, the blend of both our
core 3D printing technologies proved instrumental in bringing another exciting and
innovative product to market and, as a company, we're delighted to play a part in helping
Floatility - and other start-up businesses like them - bring their ideas to products."

The addictive anonymous messaging app explodes on the scene
LONDON, December 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
BLINDSPOT, a wacky anonymous messaging app that gives people the opportunity to say
what they really feel, is making a lot of noise. Perhaps it's the loud, cartoon-style
design, the game-like interface, or simply the ability to message people anonymously?
Whatever the reason, your inbox is about to get interesting.
It's fun and perfect for flirting or chatting. Users can message anyone in their
contact list for one-to-one communication- sending text, images, voice-notes and video.
All without revealing their identity - unless they choose to. BLINDSPOT is surprisingly
addictive and opens up a whole new world of conversations.
BLINDSPOT is developed by Shellanoo Group, a fast-growth technology company
specialising in interactive mobile applications and internet related services. Shellanoo
Group closed a $35 million round of funding in March, which quadrupled the share value of
the company in less than 10 months. The round was led by multi-billionaire businessman
Roman Abramovich, and attracted investment from music luminaries including Tiesto, Avicii,
will.i.am, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso (of Swedish House Mafia), Nicki Minaj, Benny
Andersson (of music group ABBA), plus super agents Ash Pournouri and Gee Roberson
(previously chairman of Geffen Records and now part of Maverick Management), and several
others.
O.D. Kobo, Chairman of Shellanoo Group, says, "BLINDSPOT is definitely one of our
portfolio's liveliest projects." The idea for BLINDSPOT emerged from a 12-hour hackathon
at Shellanoo's headquarters in Israel. "When you remove the barrier of identity between
people things start to get interesting," says Kobo.
Message recipients can easily block other users and can ask senders to reveal their
identity at any time. Any user that is blocked by three people is removed from the app.
Any misuse can be raised directly with BLINDSPOT.
"What would you say to people you know if you were anonymous?" ask Dor Refaeli and Lee
Greenberg, co-founders of BLINDSPOT. "Most users want to flirt, play jokes on friends or
share secretive information they would otherwise be scared to reveal. There's so much fake
comment on social media - it can be like an airbrushed version of life. We want people to
have fun, and most of all we want people to be real with one another."
BLINDSPOT is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
About BLINDSPOTÂ
BLINDSPOT is an anonymous messaging app designed for "real" conversations with people
you know. The app's bright colours and simple design reflect the fact it is built for fun.
BLINDSPOT is backed by the Shellanoo Group, a technology company specialising in mobile
applications and internet services. Shellanoo has attracted significant investment from
backers including Avicii, Tiesto, David Guetta, will.i.am, Nicki Minaj, Sebastian Ingrosso
and Ash Pournouri.

Brand 'moonbow' Makes its Entry in the Air Purifier Market, Aims to Capture 10-12% Market Share in Three Years
NEW DELHI, December 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
'moonbow' is a new brand launched today. The brand from HSIL Limited, 'moonbow' will
be the umbrella brand for the company's emerging interest in the consumer business space.
'Expect the unexpected' is the brand promise of 'moonbow', which in tangible terms
simply translates into something unanticipated, a surprise. This quality of the brand will
be visible through differentiated product experiences and significant benefits that it
will offer to target consumers. 'moonbow' is meant for consumers who are conscious about
the overall well-being of their family and want to live a robust and healthy lifestyle.
Air purifiers is the first product being introduced under this brand. Powered by Puri
5 technology, a 5 stage filtration process in every model irrespective of the price band,
'moonbow' is an uniquely different product that the Indian consumer has not yet
experienced.
The importance of 5 stage filtration lays in its ability to sieve away unsafe levels
of particulate matter in the air, also known as particle pollution or PM up to 2.5
micrometer in size. There are several sources of PM 2.5 size particles: dust, cooking,
automobile emissions, forest fires, agricultural burning to name a few, which impact our
breathing process, and their contribution is on the rise. This is where 'moonbow' air
purifiers with their inbuilt modern technology will make the difference.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director, HSIL Ltd, said,
"We as a company are always on the lookout for growth opportunities in the market, which
can complement both our existing business as well as provide scope to venture into new
business categories, linked with homes and improving consumer lifestyle. Entering the air
purifier category, is based on market prospect, which is positive, driven by the
environmental situation and consumer demand to live smart and breathe fresh. As for the
decision on adding another brand to our brand portfolio, we felt the need to differentiate
within our product offerings as well, since 'moonbow' will focus on 2 new products related
to well-being and freshness. It is a very strategic assessment of the company's vision for
the future as we target 5% market share in the first year of operation. We are aiming to
be among the top two in 3 years," he added.
'moonbow' air purifiers are being launched simultaneously on e-commerce (amazon) and
brick-n-mortar outlet (Croma). Three models are introduced priced at INR 34,990, INR
15,990 and 12,990 respectively. In the first phase of launch, 'moonbow' air purifiers will
be available in select Tier A cities that fall under bad AQI (Air Quality Index).
DELFT, The Netherlands, December 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
A new iphone app called "SNOPRO" tells the actual avalanche danger level of specific
descents. Â
The average number of avalanche casualties in the Alps remains stable above 100 per
year. The increased use of avalanche airbags and rescue beacons, and availability of
rescue helicopters has not lead to a sharp decline. This does not deter the 16 million
European off-piste skiers who enter dangerous avalanche terrain each year. They need to
ask themselves if snow stability is sufficient at the start of each descent. Â Dutch
technology company Sping has launched an app in co-operation with mountain guides that
gives them the answer.Â
Avalanches start when snow layers have bonded insufficiently. A range of factors such
as wind, temperature, precipitation, slope angle and orientation influence bond strength
from day to day and even hour to hour. Hardened professionals find it difficult to assess
existing avalanche dangers, let alone the recreational skier.
Alpine countries issue a detailed daily avalanche bulletin that should allow skiers to
judge which slopes to avoid - theoretically. In practice, many off-piste skiers do not
even read the avalanche bulletin. Those who do read it often find it difficult to
interpret. It requires interpretation of altitude, slope angle and compass data on the go,
also in bad visibility.
SNOPRO projects avalanche danger ratings on ski maps in 5 colors that correspond with
the 5 danger levels that are common in avalanche bulletins. This allows users to
understand immediately how dangerous certain areas may be. In the field, users can point
their phone camera in any direction and SNOPRO will show avalanche danger levels in that
direction for the next kilometer. By comparing directions, powder hunters can choose the
safest line of descent. As such, SNOPRO makes complex but essential information easily
available to the greater public, increasing safety in the Alps.
To enable SNOPRO, Sping has developed topographical maps of the entire Alps and has
calculated altitude, slope angle and direction of every descent. Avalanche bulletins are
"translated" daily and projected on these maps.
SNOPRO has been developed by Sping in co-operation with mountain guides. The SNOPRO
app is now available to recreational and professional off-piste skiers, while the service
is to start as soon as Alpine countries have started issuing daily avalanche bulletins.
 SNOPRO is patent pending.
An Android version will be developed shortly.

Huawei Launches Innovative Wi-Fi Solution to Deliver High-Quality Signal Coverage and Simplify Device Management
SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today launched an innovative Agile Distributed Wi-Fi solution. Adopting a revolutionary three-layer distributed architecture, the solution is designed to improve Wi-Fi signal coverage across many rooms and simplify the management of multiple network access points (APs) in enterprises such as hotels, hospitals, universities and warehouses.
"With greater demand for mobile connectivity, Huawei is helping enterprises increase the range, reliability and performance of their wireless network infrastructure to drive operational efficiency and enhance consumer engagement," said Jane Fu, Director of WLAN Product, Switch & Enterprise Communications Product Line, Huawei. "Leveraging an innovative architecture, Huawei's Agile Distributed Wi-Fi Solution helps enterprises solve Wi-Fi network capacity, coverage and performance challenges while simplifying network management without adding costs."
Over the past five years, the number of terminals connected to Wi-Fi networks has increased tenfold, with the amount of data traffic growing by four times. In particular, 70 percent of data traffic flow is now indoors. With traditional Wi-Fi solutions, weak signal coverage remains a challenge as AP signals attenuate when penetrating through walls resulting in coverage holes. To overcome this challenge, Huawei has transformed the traditional "AC (assess control) + Fit AP" architecture by adopting an architecture design that divides the "Fit AP" layer into two parts and establishes a three-layer distributed architecture -- "AC + Central AP + Remote Radio Units (RRUs)".
Under this new architecture, the central AP processes services, configurations, and roaming in a unified fashion, which helps improve network performance and reduces the number of management nodes. In addition, the distributed architecture deploys RRUs in rooms through cables, ensuring full coverage without coverage holes. This architecture increases user capacity per room from 32 to 80 users, and improves available bandwidth per user from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps. Moreover, the RRUs are only responsible for user access and data forwarding. As such, the performance of the central AP is up to 20 percent higher than traditional settled APs.
Huawei's Agile Distributed Wi-Fi Solution enables a single AP to cover as many as 48 rooms, reducing the number of configuration nodes and the configuration workload by more than 90 percent. For example, using the solution to cover 10,000 rooms requires the configuration of only 200 nodes. The solution's innovative architecture also changes the roaming mode. Within the same central AP coverage area, an independent roaming domain can be created for each user to enable complete wireless connectivity.
Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. Driven by customer-centric innovation and open partnerships, Huawei has established an end-to-end ICT solutions portfolio that gives customers competitive advantages in telecom and enterprise networks, devices and cloud computing.

Turbulent/NFB's VR experience, The Unknown Photographer, has US premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival
MONTREAL, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - National Film Board of Canada (NFB) - The Unknown Photographer, created by Loic Suty from Turbulent and co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), will make its US premiere in the New Frontier section at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The Sundance Film Festival takes place January 21 to 31 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is one of the world's premier places to debut new independent films, and over the course of its more than 30-year history has launched films including Whiplash, Boyhood, and Beasts of the Southern Wild, among many others. Created by Sundance Film Festival in 2007, New Frontier brings together fiction, non-fiction and hybrid projects to showcase transmedia storytelling, multi-media installations, performances and films.
The Unknown Photographer is one of the first virtual reality (VR) works in the world to offer an immersive, 20-minute narrative and visual experience. This documentary/fiction hybrid takes viewers into the fragmented memories of a First World War photographer, giving new life to more than 260 long-lost images, as participants stroll through a vivid 3D dreamscape featuring otherworldly structures and allegorical characters. Inspired by a photo album discovered in an abandoned barn north of Montreal, The Unknown Photographer is a visceral, moving work that's both fascinating and unsettling, prompting reflection on the power of imagery and the ravages of war.
"Building this VR experience marked a significant turning point for us," said Claire Buffet, Turbulent producer. "We harnessed tremendous talent and all of us learned a lot about this new medium. We'll be making sure to turn what could be a mere trend into a meaningful and reliable expertise."
"At our Digital Studio in Montreal, we have a particular emphasis on collaborating with this city's dynamic interactive sector as exemplified by our great co-producer on this project, Turbulent," said Louis-Richard Tremblay, NFB producer. "The NFB has been a pioneer in storytelling throughout its history, with cutting-edge film technologies and now, new interactive and immersive formats. VR is the natural next step for us, and we're excited to be back at New Frontier this year."
In November 2015, The Unknown Photographer was showcased at both the Montreal International Documentary Festival (Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montreal - RIDM) and IDFA 2015 DocLab in Amsterdam. The portfolio includes proprietary designs that can deliver throughput to 20,000 lbs. per hour or more.
Linde cryogenic spiral freezers are ideal for:
Baking: Crust-freezing or fully freezing par-baked goods, artisan breads, rolls, breadsticks, cookies /cookie dough, and pastries.
Prepared Foods: Fully freezing pizzas, pizza toppings and dough products, trayed foods and ready meals.
Meat, Poultry and Seafood: Quick-freezing poultry products such as chicken breasts, tenders and wings; diced and sliced meat and poultry; freezing meat and poultry patties and meatballs; and freezing fish fillets and other seafood products.
The Linde portfolio encompasses the patented CRYOLINE® XF (cross-flow) spiral freezer, the Linde immersion spiral freezer, as well as standard box spiral freezers.
-- The patented CRYOLINE XF spiral freezer, with a proprietary cross-flow
pattern of cryogenic gas, delivers a rapid heat-transfer that will boost
throughput and reduce operating costs vs. conventional cryogenic spiral
freezers.
-- The Linde immersion spiral freezer combines high-efficiency nitrogen
utilization with high-volume spiral freezing throughput to 20,000 lbs.
per hour and higher.
-- Standard Linde box-spiral freezers provide high reliability, simple
operation and easy maintenance. (Freezer models available with
throughput to 15,000 lbs. per hour and higher.)
Pushing Productivity
Spiral freezers use a conveyor with a belt that travels in a vertical spiral, conserving floorspace and assuring efficient use of cryogen. Linde develops cryogenic spiral freezing solutions to meet plant requirements and line configuration that can quickly boost throughput, and provides on-site engineering support and maintenance programs to help maximize productivity as processing needs change.
For example, at Nation Pizza & Foods, LLC (Schaumburg, Illinois), Linde nitrogen spiral freezers have met production demands on a range of high-volume products for 10 years. Linde performs annual audits to monitor freezing processes and help ensure safe and efficient operation. To meet higher capacity demands within the existing facility for a premium national brand of frozen pizza, Linde collaborated with Nation to optimize the performance of the freezers for a lower cost per pound -- while maintaining quality.
Nation is one of the largest private-label frozen food manufacturers in the U.S. and, in addition to high-quality pizzas, its range includes toasted subs, panini, bruschetta, garlic toast and breakfast items. In the production process for the premium pizza brand, frozen specialty crusts are conveyed down the line and topped with refrigerated ingredients before they enter the Linde cryogenic spiral freezer.
Operating at colder than minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the Linde spiral freezer uses a direct spray of cryogenic nitrogen to ensure toppings are firmly frozen to the pizza and frost-free, before going out into final packaging. The hygienically designed spiral freezers feature a proprietary exhaust system that automatically ramps up or down with production to optimize nitrogen efficiency. After Linde optimized the freezer with Nation Pizza & Foods, production on the premium line was ramped up to achieve a substantial increase in volume in the same floorspace.
Linde offers a portfolio of hygienically-designed, state-of-the-art cryogenic freezers and chilling systems, attractive equipment rentals, and turnkey services. The Linde food team performs in-plant assessments and works with food processors to develop optimal solutions. For more information visit Linde (http://www.lindefood.com), or call: 800-755-9277.

French Company to Introduce Home Security and Connectivity Devices
SAINT CHRISTOPE EN BRESSE, France, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- IKILOCK, an innovative French startup company will unveil three new technology products at the International CES, which takes place in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2016.
Exhibiting during ShowStoppers @ CES on Wednesday, January 6, they will introduce the namesake device, IKILOCK, as well as IKIPLUG, and IKICENTER. They have also just launched their updated website (http://www.ikilock.com) that describes and promotes each of their new products, all of which are designed to function as a simple, secure, and convenient way to manage home security and connectivity through the use of Bluetooth, WiFi, and mobile technology.
By connecting the devices to doors and locks, heating and cooling units, or lights, the device's smart phone enabled interface will allow users to view each access point and appliance remotely through the engagement of a simple mobile app.
Whether it's for family members, friends, or household contractors, these devices will easily allow registered guests immediate access to locked doors with a shared virtual key, while the user receives live status updates, informing parents, for example, when their children return home from school. The devices are also integrated with a proximity reader, designed - through a pre-programmed command - to automatically open locked doors, turn on the lights, and adjust room temperature when the user comes within a pre-specified range.
"These devices solve dozens of household and home-related issues," says Sebastien Roux, co-founder of IKILOCK. "If you want to unlock your door for guests when you are stuck in traffic; if you are arriving home with hands full of groceries and don't want to fumble with keys; if you're having a package delivered while you're away or expecting a household contractor; these products provide an easy, secure solution to all these situations, and more."
IKILOCK allows for the creation of an unlimited number of virtual keys and assigns times for accessibility, and it works in combination with the other devices from any location in the world while providing live updates and notifications of its current status. There are several modes to grant access, including hands-free proximity with Bluetooth, administered remotely through WiFi, in addition to traditional metal keys. The IKIPLUG is a remote switch that allows users to control household appliances running on a current such as the door of an apartment building, garage doors, and a thermostat or lights, and the IKICENTER is essentially the gateway between the other two devices and the web server to provide remote management.
Now entering the final stage of development and implementation, IKILOCK will showcase fully functioning prototypes of all three devices in time for ShowStoppers @ CES. Company spokespersons and staff will demonstrate the products' innovation, ease of use, and security benefits. The IKILOCK, IKIPLUG, and IKICENTER will soon be available for website pre-orders and they are all expected to hit both the North American and European markets during third quarter of 2016.

Ramos Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Toyota
- New cooperation demonstrates Ramos' trusted capabilities
SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ramos, an emerging and engaged brand in the Chinese mobile phone market, is becoming more and more a topic of discussion among industry watchers and consumers with each new product launch. MOS1 max, the company's second smartphone, has remained highly popular since the launch at the end of this October, largely due to the large screen and the power efficiency.
Soon after the release of the R9, Ramos' first fingerprint identification-enabled mobile phone, several websites wrote articles about the product's unique features. Recently, Ramos entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to develop and manufacture tablets for Japan's Toyota. The new cooperation with Toyota, a firm long known for its adherence to high quality standards, demonstrated Ramos' compliance with the demanding standards in development and quality control.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ramos will develop customized software and hardware used in tablets that meet Toyota's requirements as well as be in charge of the production and quality control. Japan, a well-established leader in the global electronics market, is known for its key technologies used in the manufacturing of electronic products and strict requirements in quality. As one of the world's largest carmakers, Toyota has always focused on high standards and quality, in much the same way as all leading Japanese companies. The cooperation with Toyota showcased Ramos' highly-recognized technologies and quality.
To ensure the success of the partnership, one that is highly valued both by Ramos and Toyota, the management and members of the Toyota project team made several trips to Ramos headquarters in Shenzhen, a city that is known as China's Silicon Valley. In addition, Ramos' sales and technical teams also visited Japan several times to discuss the cooperation and the specific terms of the agreement with Toyota.
This in-depth partnership is not a random event. Ramos has been recognized by a number of internationally reputed brands, including Microsoft and Intel, for its philosophy of seeking excellence in quality and user experience. In 2012, the company launched the first tablet using the Intel processor, becoming Intel's first global tablet partner. Ramos has since unveiled the series Intel core-based tablets which feature high performance, low power consumption and dual systems, fundamentally changing the traditional way of using a tablet and providing a new experience for users. In particular, thanks to the support of its partners, including Intel and Microsoft, Ramos' i Series Intel intelligent tablets are available in over 50 countries and regions around the world and have been highly acclaimed among users.
Ramos has rolled out two smartphones since its entry into the mobile phone market in July, 2015, becoming one of the fastest growing cell phone brands in China on the back of its extensive experience in technologies as well as the attractiveness of design, length of battery life, improved user experience and dedication to quality control. After a thorough inspection of Ramos' production facilities and authentication of the processes deployed by Ramos during the manufacturing process, Toyota became convinced of the Chinese company's capabilities in research and development as well as in quality control and of the firm's growth potential, further facilitating the strategic cooperation.
Thanks to their continuous investment in research and development in smart terminal technologies over the past few years, Chinese IT companies have been able to compete with international brands when it comes to product design and process. Chinese mobile phone vendors, for example, have not only exceeded international brands in the domestic market in terms of market share but also delivered strong performance in many markets outside of China.
Toyota's decision to partner with Ramos has demonstrated the international brand's recognition of the Chinese company's R&D and quality control capabilities. Ramos looks to utilize Toyota's advanced technologies and wide experience in production and management through collaboration with the world-reputed Japanese partner.

Ringwill Releases the World's First Flowchart Programming Electronic Development Platform
SHANGHAI, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Targeting electronic developers with a non-technical background, Ringwill Inc. has released its first product Wikit - the world's first flowchart programming electronic development platform based on visual IDE. It is intended to allow students, inventors, hobbyists and artists to make interactive projects without technical barriers.
"The debut of Wikit will transform the traditional electronic programming method. The key feature of Wikit is that it applies flowcharts to programming, which enables people who don't have technical background the ability to engage in creative thinking," said Jie Fu, co-founder of Ringwill.
Wikit is a tiny computer that users can program to process inputs and outputs going to and from the chip. A Wikit toolkit includes a USB powered Wikit board, consisting of a Lattice FPGA, flash, a crystal or oscillator and a linear voltage regulator as well as the Wikit IDE (Integrated Development Environment), a free software and app.
The Wikit IDE provides an interactive interface for users to program in flowchart form language that the Wikit understands as easy as drag and drop. Instructions can be downloaded to the Wikit board through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, then the Wikit board will carry out these instructions and interact with the outside world.
"The innovative flowchart programming provided by Wikit allows makers from various fields to participate in electronic design, liberate their creativity and experience the joy of inventing," commented David Li, founder and CEO of Ardublock and Shanghai XINCHEJIAN fab-lab, as one of the first users of Wikit.
The Wikit board offers great expandability by exposing its FPGA's I/O pins to enable users to connect those pins to other circuits or to sensors. A short list of supported circuits and sensors includes but is not limited to wireless buttons, wireless light sensors, touch buttons, moisture sensors, PIR motion sensors, RBG LEDs and noise sensors. Other functionalities of the Wikit board include 16 digital GPIOs, four 12 bit ADC channels running under a 200 KHz clock, 10+ GND and VCC pins, 5V-3.3V compatible IOS, built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, wireless programming and debugging, and 200 MHz execution speed.
The Wikit IDE supports a drag and drop programming style that help users avoid the burden of learning various programming languages. It also provides more than 20 examples to help users from beginner to expert level and offers built-in IO drivers to support I2C, CAN, SPI, UART, GPIO, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
With the help of detailed hardware connection guidance and self-testing function, users can get rid of any hardware trouble before programming, which greatly shortens development time and reduces debugging difficulty. The first version of Wikit IDE for iPad will be available on the App Store in near future.
The flowchart programming methodology lowers technical requirement for developers, therefore users without programming knowledge can be able to build a quick prototype on Wikit.
"Wikit is easy-to-use, modular and allows even non-technical people to understand and build hardware prototypes. It is also a vital tool for hardware startups that want to build and test quickly as speed is essential in the dynamic and competitive space of consumer electronics," explained Ran Ma, founder and CEO of SIREN CARE.
Students in Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab and startups from Shanghai lab fab are incorporating Wikit as prototyping tool to create innovative solutions and test ideas. Wikit will launch user survey on Thunderclap as well as crowdfunding in near future.

can take advantage of its low total harmonic distortion (THD) of -135 dB
at 10-mW output power into a 32- load - 12 times better than the
nearest competitor. It also delivers maximum output power of up to 150
mW before clipping while maintaining the lowest THD and noise (THD+N),
providing a clean signal path for professional audio applications.
-- Optimized for high-fidelity portable audio devices: Consumes low
quiescent current of 2.6-mA per channel and delivers high linear output
current of 80 mA(RMS) in a small, 3-mm-by-3-mm dual flat no-lead (DFN)
package. Additionally, the increased power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR)
of -97/-123 dB at 20 kHz enables low distortion from switching power
supplies with no low-dropout regulator (LDO), saving board space without
compromising audio performance.
-- Unique pinout simplifies design and improves distortion performance: The
OPA1622's ground-referenced enable pin is directly controllable from the
low-power processor's general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins without
level-shifting circuits. Its innovative pinout improves printed circuit
board (PCB) layout and enables exceptional distortion performance at
high output power.
-- Eliminates audible clicks and pops: A unique enable-circuitry design
limits output transients when the OPA1622 is transitioning into or out
of shutdown mode.
Tools and support to ease design
A TINA-TI((TM)) SPICE macromodel is available for the OPA1622 to help designers verify board-level signal-integrity requirements. A TI Designs - Precision reference design for voltage-output audio DACs will be available in 1Q16 to speed time to market for OPA1622-based headphone amplifier designs.
Technical support for the OPA1622 is available in the TI E2E(TM) Community Precision Amplifiers forum, where engineers can search for solutions, get help, share knowledge and solve problems with fellow engineers and TI experts.
Additionally, engineers can deepen their audio expertise with TI Precision Labs - Op Amps, TI's on-demand training series that covers a wide variety of topics, including low-distortion design and noise. The videos use a real-world circuit to teach designers how to achieve overall system-performance goals.
Package, availability and pricing
The OPA1622 is available today in a 3-mm-by-3-mm DFN package for US$2.90 in 1,000-unit quantities.
Recommended companion devices
