LG Collaborates With Pretty Lights On 'Around The Block' Music Video
LG UltraWide Monitors in Center of Creative Process For Musician's Latest WorkENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., May 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics collaborated with Pretty Lights, the pioneering hip-hop artist Derek Vincent Smith, to create a unique music video for his latest track, "Around the Block."
The video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUBzjL2XN9Q) stars LG's "UltraWide" IPS monitors, which complement Smith's musical vision and music-mixing process with expansive, cinematic screens and multitasking features.
"DJ Pretty Lights' new music video demonstrates the exceptional multitasking functionality of our uniquely proportioned 21:9 monitors," said James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. "Well suited to the needs of recording artists, sound engineers and producers, the UltraWide has enough screen real estate to display mixing software, editing tools, multimedia files and a browser at the same time."
This is not a traditional product placement. Fishler explained how the music video brings Smith's artistic vision for "Around the Block" to life through the use of LG's UltraWide monitors. The concept of the video is the symbiosis between man and machine, or more specifically, between Smith and his LG monitors. With expansive screens and enhanced multitasking features, these monitors are an ideal match for Smith's unique, experimental approach to creating music and video.
Multitasking for Creative Musical Endeavors
The LG UltraWide monitor is an excellent tool for the digital environment, helping artists to perfect their beats and realize their creative vision. The monitor's 29-inch, 21:9 aspect ratio screen enables users to view and work on several open programs at the same time, making it easy to mix, edit and create. Conveniently, the 4-Screen Split feature divides the display into four segments, which can be arranged into a variety of useful configurations with just a few mouse clicks.
The monitor's Dual Link-Up function caters to the multi-device requirements of today's digitally savvy artists. The feature enables users to simultaneously connect two separate devices -- such as a sound mixer and a recording device -- to the monitor. A clever efficiency booster, the Dual Link-Up helps to facilitate the flow of creative production.
Around the Block will be released on the album A Color Map of the Sun. Pretty Lights' fans can pre-order it now on CD, vinyl, or in digital format from the official website, http://www.prettylightsmusic.com.

Dual-core Chip with the World's Lowest Power Consumption - Rockchip RK3168
SHENZHEN, China, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- At 3 pm on May 21, Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd. held the promotion of "A9 Dual-core Chip RK3168 of the World's Lowest Power Consumption" in Midsummer Hall on the third floor of Shenzhen Pavilion Hotel. The promotion attracted a large number of solution providers, brand manufacturers and trade media, showing that RK3168 had entered the stage of mass production.
Compared with dual-core chips on market, RK3168 has three major advantages:
Power consumption: Dual-core chip with the world's lowest power consumption, one time lower than dual-A7 program;
Design: Quad-dual compatible, one board for double purposes;
Performance: The performance of RK3168 with dual-A9 core is two times higher than dual-A7 program with half the power consumption, because it uses 28nm. RK3168 supports the latest Android 4.2.2 system and Miracast screen mirror, and achieves multimedia sharing between mobile phones, tablet PCs and TVs.
RK3168 chips have world-class ultra-low power consumption, only half that of the Cortex-A7 dual-core chip, and is lower than almost all the dual-core tablet PCs on the market. A 7-inch tablet PC with 3000mAh battery can play HD video for eight hours continuously. RK3168 uses ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core architecture, the highest frequency is 1.2GHz, and the chip has high overall performance, which is higher than the industry's current dual-core chip solution.
Quad-dual compatible, with one board for double purposes, is the most significant feature of Rockchip RK3168. At present, only RK3168 can achieve quick switching between dual-core and quad-core of the same PCB board. Dual-core RK3168 can be replaced with a high-end 28nm RK3188 quad-core chip pin to pin, so that solution providers and brand developers can save costs and time in product development, have a more comprehensive product layout and quickly respond to the changes in the dual-core / quad-core market.
The RK3168 program has passed the Google Global GMS and CTS certification, and can easily help customers access the mainstream market in Europe and America.
Summary:
Nowadays, quad-core has become the hottest topic in the tablet PC market, but single-core still occupies a large part of the market. Dual-core is expected to replace single core this year. RK3168 features high-end performance, low power consumption and is cost effective, getting the industry's attention and generating a new round of competition in the dual-core market.

delighted with the results, which led them to add the Patents module.
EFR helps increase operating efficiencies by organising all IP documents and
correspondence into electronic files and providing a platform for automation, electronic
workflow and document sharing. This is particularly important for James & Wells as they
move to a new operating model, with staff members supporting multiple lawyers, so
efficiency is all the more critical. EFR-TM has already proved a success at the firm,
providing benefits in terms of significant time savings and 'anytime anywhere' mobile
access to IP data for attorneys and their clients. The firm now wants to bring these
benefits to its Patents group, which represents 60% of the firm's practice.
Ian Finch, Managing Partner at James & Wells, said: "We have been very impressed with
the implementation of Electronic File Room's Trademarks module. Recently, a colleague and
I have been travelling in the US, and we have been able to work exactly as though we were
in our offices in New Zealand. The convenience and efficiency of First To File's
technology is exceptional, and we look forward to extending these benefits to our Patents
group."
For the Patents rollout, Finch says the firm will start implementation with a small
pilot group of users who are already familiar with the Trademarks system. Then the rest of
the Patents group will eventually be brought online. He anticipates that full
implementation will take about three-four months to complete.
Kurt Wedel, Vice President, Operations at CPA Global's First To File, remarked, "We
are thrilled that James & Wells is expanding its use of Electronic File Room to include
Patents too. Our technology and paperless process provide greater efficiency,
accessibility and sustainability to our IP law firm and corporate IP clients. We are
pleased that James & Wells has had a positive experience with First To File's system and
we look forward to assisting them with the implementation of an extended service."

Survey Copter Flies to Stratasys for 3D Printing of UAV Systems
MINNEAPOLIS and REHOVOT, Israel, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Dual 3D print line-up increases responsiveness and reduces costs for aerospace firm's
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)
Stratasys and Survey Copter to exhibit at forthcoming Paris Air Show (17th - 23rd
June, Paris, France)
Stratasys Ltd [http://www.stratasys.com ]. (NASDAQ:SSYS), a leading manufacturer of 3D
printers and production systems for prototyping and manufacturing, has announced that
remote control systems manufacturer, Survey Copter, is successfully using its 3D printing
technology to produce prototype and short-run component parts for mini-unmanned aerial
vehicle (UAV) systems, also known as drones.
France-based Survey Copter, a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space
Company N.V. (EADS), specializes in the design, production and integration of complete
remote systems for surveillance photography and video service applications for UAVs and
other airborne craft, as well as for sea and overland vehicles.
"Effectively meeting our 3D printing needs can only be achieved via machines that are
capable of producing quality parts with high reliability," explains Jean Marc Masenelli,
managing director, Survey Copter. "Stratasys' reputation for delivering 3D printers that
meet these criteria head-on made them the logical company to partner with."
Spearheading Survey Copter's prototyping and short-run manufacturing activities, the
Stratasys Fortus 400mc and Dimension Elite 3D Printers are deployed in the production of
component parts for the company's mini-UAV systems, including both helicopter and
fixed-wing variants weighing up to 30kg and 10kg respectively. Ranging from a few
millimetres up to parts measuring 40cm x 10cm, these components comprise mechanical
structures for optical turrets, structural elements of aircraft, battery compartment
housing, supporting structure, as well as scale models.
High Performance Materials Engineered for Aerospace
For Masenelli, the ability to utilise different materials according to specific
application needs offers key advantages for producing durable 3D printed parts. Such
materials include FDM thermoplastics polycarbonate, ABS and high performance ULTEM 9085
which boasts superior strength and lightweight properties, as well as other desirable
characteristics including FST (flame, smoke and toxicity) rating. This safety standard,
particularly valued within the aerospace and transportation industries, ensures a material
won't promote a fire, release harmful smoke, or emit toxic fumes.
"That we are able to print production-grade materials such as high-performance FDM
thermoplastics like ULTEM, which is qualified for aerospace applications, is a definite
plus for our operations," he explains.
"The Stratasys 3D Printer can produce parts with complex shapes - for us a highly
sought after requirement and a principle differentiator that sets Stratasys' proposition
apart from that of other providers," he adds. "This specific capability enables us to
produce parts of wide-ranging dimensions and hollow forms, as well as full honeycomb
structures."
Featuring two material bays for maximum uninterrupted production, the Stratasys Fortus
400mc 3D Production System produces accurate, durable, repeatable 3D parts with superior
throughput. It is available in two configurations: the basic system which builds parts as
large as 355 x 254 x 254 mm, and an optionally upgraded system which builds parts as large
as 406 x 355 x 406 mm. With four layer thicknesses to choose from, users can fine-tune
their desired balance between FDM's finest possible feature detail and the fastest build.
The Stratasys Dimension Elite 3D Printer features the finest resolution of any
Stratasys Design Series Performance 3D Printers and produces nine colors of real ABSplus
thermoplastic. When the finest dimension resolution of 0.178 mm is not required, the
Dimension Elite allows users to accelerate printing with a layer thickness of 0.33 mm.
Stratasys/CADvision will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Paris Air Show (17th - 23rd
June, Paris, France) on stand 3-E54.

Promoting the Myth of the "Always Connected" Device
KitaroDB lets applications take a little piece of the Cloud with them when network connectivity isn't possible, improving user experiences without time-consuming, platform-dependent development efforts
GOLD RIVER, Calif., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Airplane mode, long commutes, limits on data plans: they all belie the notion of devices with continuous, uninterrupted Internet connections. Yet many applications assume a permanent connection when delivering content to the user. When the Internet isn't reachable, an app will often simply notify the user of network issues, and then refuse to function until the connection is restored.
KitaroDB helps solve the problem by making it easy for developers to guarantee a consistent user experience. A light-weight, efficient, and extremely fast NoSQL database, KitaroDB lets app developers store cloud data in a palatable form, keeping it locally on the devices for later access when network connections might not be available.
Historically, application developers who worried about the "offline user experience" were often forced to implement time-consuming workarounds. Reformatting cloud data (from a web service, for instance) into rigid data structures and then pushing it into local relational databases was only the first step. Developers then had to contend with the problem of what to do next: either reverse the process and reassemble the data in a format that the application expected, or design a whole new set of procedures for dealing with the reconfigured data.
With KitaroDB, app developers can use a consistent API across multiple platforms, and quickly store the data with little or no modification to the original format. The result can be a significant increase in application usability with minimal effort.
KitaroDB supports key/value and intrusive key data stores, providing developers with the flexibility to pick the best data solution for each area of their application.
At the core of KitaroDB is the enterprise-class, B-tree Synergy DBMS database. Cross-platform and in continuous commercial use for more than 25 years, this database is developed and enhanced by KitaroDB's creator, Synergex International Corporation.
"What's amazing is that the same database engine that you use on the server actually fits comfortably onto a phone or tablet, and it's still lightning-fast and durable," says Tod Phillips, KitaroDB Product Manager. "Technically, the latest version [of KitaroDB] can handle records up to 2 gigabytes in length, and files up to 256 terabytes. But that's way too much for today's mobile apps and devices, and data sizes like that would only be used by the Kitaro server product. It's just cool to know the potential is there, in your hand, even if you'll never use all of it."
The KitaroDB SDKs are free for Windows Phone 8, Windows RT, and Win32/.NET, and can be downloaded from Microsoft's Visual Studio Gallery or directly from the KitaroDB website at http://www.kitarodb.com. A subscription-based server version is also available.

Complete video streaming reference design ideal for security/surveillance cameras and baby monitors
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GainSpan(®) Corporation, a leader in ultra-low power Wi-Fi connectivity for the Internet of Things, today introduced a complete reference design for wireless video streaming applications such as remote security/surveillance cameras, car back-up cameras and video baby monitors. The new Video Application Development Kit (ADK) speeds and simplifies design and integration of video streaming services into end products based on GainSpan Wi-Fi modules.
GainSpan's Video ADK includes hardware and software that help reduce the time needed to develop products that deliver live video over Wi-Fi. With the development kit, users can stream the video feed from a Wi-Fi enabled camera to an iOS or Android based smartphone.
Included in the Video ADK is a video application board, complete hardware design package and software suite with reference source code for the embedded video application, and iOS and Android based mobile applications. An Application Evaluation Kit (AEK) is also available that provides a binary version of the software and video mobile application.

D&H Distributing's "Get Authorized" Program Makes Pricing Compliance More Convenient
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- D&H Distributing, the major North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, introduces its new "Get Authorized" program for resellers. The "Get Authorized" tool reduces the time and labor of the vendor authorization process, which resellers and dealers must go through in order to buy products subject to MAP (minimum advertised pricing), UPP (unilateral pricing policy) and similar authorization restrictions.
Such policies have been instituted by manufacturers in order to keep product margins from dropping too dramatically due to aggressive pricing. VARs who wish to sell items covered by these guidelines must undergo a sometimes complex authorization process, which documents that the VAR agrees to be compliant. This usually requires the engagement of an account representative and can take hours or even days. Products frequently subject to authorization guidelines include displays, PCs, storage drives, and audio equipment.
With D&H's new tool, eligible resellers need only to click a "Get Authorized Now!" button at any point during an online product search or order, and the authorization process is approved instantly. VARs can view and print a list of the different items covered under each vendor authorization, plus other key policy details. D&H customers must sign up for the program at dandh.com.
"Our vendors have been asking us to help them manage their authorization programs, and at the same time, customers who want to sell their products under these guidelines have been asking us to make the process easier. We devised a totally automated and real-time time process that accommodates both the vendors' and customers' needs," said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of sales at D&H Distributing. "The 'Get Authorized' program makes it more convenient for VARs to be compliant, and simplifies access to a greater breadth of offerings."
About D&H Distributing
As the nation's leading technology distributor, D&H provides a wealth of resources to empower solution providers and consultants, delivering a broad selection of SMB categories, products and applications. The company's offerings span server and infrastructure, SOHO and mobile applications, consumer electronics and gaming. Synaptics ClearPad® S7500 Brings Large, High-Performance Touchscreens to Mainstream Notebook PCs and Premium Tablets
Next Generation ClearPad Allows Ease-of-Integration and Extreme Flexibility to Support Continued Mobile Device Evolution
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Synaptics Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNA), a leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced the ClearPad(®) S7500, the latest addition to Synaptics' industry-leading ClearPad line of clear capacitive touchscreen solutions. The ClearPad S7500 removes barriers to the adoption of large, high-performance touchscreens in today's mainstream notebook PCs and high-end tablets by offering a highly advanced, yet flexible and cost-effective, solution for screens up to 15.6".
To date, large capacitive touchscreens in notebooks and premium tablets have been difficult to implement, adding excess thickness, weight and cost to designs. However, as exciting new applications and operating systems, such as Windows 8 and 8.1, emerge with increasing focus on touch and pen capabilities, Synaptics eliminates these difficulties with a range of unique integration features only available with the ClearPad S7500.
ClearPad S7500 Key Benefits:
-- Extreme Performance. The advanced touch controller silicon architecture
and algorithms, along with high sensing channel count, enable the S7500
to provide the most accurate finger and small object detection on the
market, along with faster report rates and superior noise resistance.
-- Ultimate Flexibility. The S7500 accommodates a wide range of advanced
touch sensor technology stackups, such as On-Glass-Solution (OGS) and
Ultra-Thin Discrete, and is compatible with emerging sensor materials
like metal mesh. This flexibility allows OEMs to add touch to their
latest designs with little to no added thickness or weight, and
minimizing added component and manufacturing costs. This design
flexibility will support future generations as sensor technology
continues to evolve.
-- Active Stylus Tracking. Synaptics' active stylus technology enables
finely detailed drawing and writing without compromising industry
leading finger touch performance, and without the need for additional
sensor hardware in the computing device. The fine-tipped active stylus
supports advanced features such as hover detection and pressure
reporting to the host application, enabling very rich stylus usage
models without adding cost, thickness, or manufacturing complexity to
the device.
-- Robust Performance. Advanced algorithms enable robust and accurate
multitouch performance under a wide range of scenarios, such as in the
presence of moisture or with gloved fingers.
-- Easy Integration. A low-profile single-ASIC solution, the S7500 is
designed for simple integration with very small discrete component
requirements and minimal physical and electrical footprints. This also
affords lower power consumption and a reduced total bill of materials
for OEMs.
"Capacitive touch has become the defacto human interface for today's small form factor computing devices like smartphones and tablets, but has seen slower integration in larger computing devices due to design challenges and high costs," said Kevin Barber, senior vice president and general manager, Smart Display Division (SDD), Synaptics. "With the introduction of the game changing ClearPad S7500, barriers are broken down, making it simple and cost-effective for OEMs to embrace the large touchscreen for a range of new computing devices and form factors."
To experience the ClearPad S7500, customers and suppliers are encouraged to contact their Synaptics partner to arrange a meeting time in Synaptics' private suite at Computex in Taipei from June 4-8, 2013 (Grand Hyatt Taipei, Suite 1141). Media are encouraged to contact synaptics@text100.com to arrange a meeting time.
Availability
The Synaptics ClearPad S7500 has been sampling since first quarter of 2013 supporting design efforts of PC and Mobile OEMs. These devices are expected to become available to consumers starting in third quarter of 2013.

LRS Announces MFPsecure(TM) Pull Printing Hardware and Software
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Levi Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS) is announcing a new line of hardware and software aimed at the pull printing and secure document delivery markets. The MFPsecure family of solutions will support output devices from a variety of hardware vendors, enabling customers with large, diverse printer fleets to save money and improve document security.
"We know that approximately 10 percent of all print jobs are never retrieved from the printer," said John Howerter, LRS Senior Vice President of Product Marketing. "These unclaimed documents are not only costly and wasteful, they also put sensitive information at risk. Our new MFPsecure solutions offer a seamless way of delivering any document, in any format, anywhere in the organization while simultaneously improving document security."
LRS is extending its MFPsecuresoftware to support Lexmark and Xerox hardware through embedded software agents designed to run natively on most modern multifunction print devices (MFPs). Similar to the recently-developed solution for HP devices, this solution leverages the MFP touchscreen interface to let users select their desired output options. All MFPsecure software also works with LRS' MFPsecure Card Reader hardware to provide proximity card-based user authentication.
The new MFPsecure XT solution uses both hardware and software components to bring pull printing capabilities to network-attached printers and MFPs that do not support embedded agents. Included in the solution are the MFPsecure Card Reader and an external controller interface box for device connectivity. This hardware extends the capabilities of the MFPsecure and VPSX(®) software solutions to single-function and specialty printers, allowing users to retrieve queued documents from a multitude of output devices.
"Our solution for HP devices generated a lot of interest last year, but most large organizations have equipment from multiple vendors," explains Brian Huggins, LRS Vice President of Product Development. "We are now expanding our embedded solutions to support Lexmark and Xerox hardware, and expect to announce support for Ricoh MFPs and other vendors in the coming months."

Dungeonland is Endlessly Entertaining in Infinite Dungeon Mode, Title Now on Mac
NEW YORK, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Star System Added, New Trailer Released
Paradox Interactive and Critical Studio today released a mind-blowing free content
update for Dungeonland, including a new achievement-style Star System and Infinite Dungeon
mode-a never-ending level that challenges visitors to keep fighting and looting until they
die. Dungeonland is also now available on Mac.
Dungeonland is a cooperative action game that sends three players to a theme park just
for heroic adventurers, surviving relentless hordes of friendly staff and stealing loot
from all of the gift shops. Players can now make the game impossible to win for
themselves, and never again have to experience Dungeonland without the sweet release of a
gruesome death. The update also includes a new Casual Mode for terrified little infants,
and a Star System for heroes who complete actual challenges, plus a broad variety of
updates to Dungeon Maestro Mode, in which a fourth player can take on the role of
Dungeonland's handsomest and cleverest character behind the scenes.
Of their recent success, the studio had this to say:
"We embarked on an incredible adventure together, and if you had seen us three years
ago; a ragtag band of wannabes trying to make a huge game and release it worldwide, you
would probably have bet against us.
Since then our family has grown, we made a completely retarded game, released it on
Steam, made it to the platform's top 3 (the first Brazilian game to achieve this!), met a
lot of cool people, travelled around, made new friends, and most important of all: we have
seen people having fun with something we created!
There is definitely some magic involved in creating something for people to enjoy. We
have seen small kids playing Dungeonland with their parents, groups of friends laughing
and having a great time together, players overcoming the game's crushing difficulty, game
developers and students being inspired by what we did... and all of this will be a part of
the lives of all these people from now on. We are very humbled and thank you very much for
allowing a little piece of ourselves to be a part of your history."
The game is available for purchase via all major digital download portals. Read more

A great console demands great games," says Eyal Maor, CEO of IncrediBuild. "By
accelerating the entire application lifecycle management process, we ensure that gaming
companies can deliver their games faster to market following the launch of the new Xbox
console."
IncrediBuild's harnesses unused processing power across the network, speeding every
aspect of the entire game development process: code build, rendering, image processing,
lighting, shading, compression, encoding, testing, QA, code analysis, and more. It is
integrated with all versions of Visual Studio 2012, including the latest upgrades, as well
as all previous versions and with the Xbox One development platform. It supports all
code-build and development tools, both commercial and in-house.
Reducing time to market is critical for development companies to maintain their
competitive edge. IncrediBuild not only provides that edge, it delivers additional cost
savings by accelerating other tools like rendering, encoding, and shading that require
lengthy processing time. IncrediBuild support for 64-bit and full Windows(R) compatibility
- including Windows 8 - ensures it is easy to use in any network environment.
In fact, Microsoft Game Studios(R) itself has been a long-time user of IncrediBuild
technology for its own development, among many other companies. Disney, Electronic Arts,
Ubisoft, and Crystal Dynamics are just a few of IncrediBuild's other 2000 customers.
"A new game developed for Xbox One needs to be dynamic and visually engaging,"
concluded Maor. "For developers, each step takes a significant amount of time and
creativity. With IncrediBuild, they can reduce down time to maintain the intensity they
bring to create exciting, intense games and, most importantly, get to market as soon as
the console is available."
