NEW YORK, Aug. 10 -- WebMD Health Corp. (NASDAQ: WBMD) announced today that it has commenced a tender offer to purchase up to 3,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $52.00 per share. The price per share of $52.00 represents a change from the price per share of $50.00 that WebMD previously announced on August 5, 2010. The number of shares proposed to be purchased in the tender offer represents approximately 5.1% of the approximately 59.4 million shares of WebMD common stock currently outstanding (including shares of unvested restricted stock). The NASDAQ Official Closing Price of WebMD Common Stock on August 9, 2010 was $51.34 per share.
The tender offer will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, unless extended by WebMD. Verizon Wireless Invested More than $30 Million in the Company's Statewide Network in the Second Quarter of 2010 to Further Enhance 3G Service
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 10 -- Verizon Wireless, the only wireless service provider with a statewide 3G network in Alabama, announced today that it invested more than $30 million in the second quarter of 2010 to enhance its network across the state. The majority of the investment focused on expanding the capacity of Verizon Wireless's 3G data network as demand for wireless data transmission continues to grow.

ICSA Labs Develops Security Check for Broadband Home Routers
New Certification Program Aimed at Keeping Consumer Data Safe
MECHANICSBURG, Pa., Aug. 10 -- Hackers are increasingly targeting home routers as a means of gaining access to sensitive personal data. To help combat this threat, ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business, is offering a new program under which manufacturers can have broadband home routers certified.
The program, Broadband Home Router Certification, evaluates a router's effectiveness in identifying safe versus harmful data, and denying access to malicious data. Certified routers can offer consumers a high level of security assurance for broadband homer routers, which are generally used to connect computers on a home network to the Internet.
"While attacks targeted at routers are not a new threat, we are seeing an increase in attacks against home routers," said Brian Monkman, technology programs manager, ICSA Labs. "The threat is exacerbated by the fact that these routers are designed to be plug-and-play. Usually, a consumer buys a home router and configures it quickly and easily, while assuming the router has the appropriate security safeguards in place, which unfortunately is not always the case."
The router certification program augments ICSA Labs' network firewall program, which was established in 1995 and evaluates the effectiveness and security measures of network firewalls.
Companies that earn the broadband home router certification for their products will also have the opportunity to join the Firewall Product Developers' Consortium, an international group dedicated to identifying and improving security problems through the advancement of firewall technology.
Added Monkman, "Only products that pass our rigorous testing process will be awarded the ICSA Labs' Broadband Home Router Certification. 19% of UK Respondents Consider Buying BlackBerry Torch
LONDON, August 10, 2010-- Life for Research In Motion has not been very easy in the past few years
since its two heavyweight rivals Apple and Google entered the scene with
their increasingly popular iPhone and Android phones. The latest RIM version,
the BlackBerry Torch, will be launched in the US on 12th Aug and rolled out
in the UK in a few months. Will this new design help RIM reclaim some of its
lost ground?
To find out the answer, Toluna PLC recently did a survey by asking the
opinions of 1000 UK respondents.
Despite the fanfare created by RIM and the media around the Torch's
launch, only 22% of the respondents have heard about the BlackBerry Torch:
among them, 19% have a clear intention of buying one, while 36% feel
uncertain and about 45% say they will not.
RIM has worked very hard to keep its corporate users happy and at the
same time has encouraged people to use the BlackBerry just as any regular
smartphone. They might do it right this time: almost 60% are interested in
personal use and a respectable 33% say they will consider using BlackBerry
for both business and personal use. So, integrating a better browser and more
social networking functions is a good idea. The reason why they like the
phone seems quite obvious: while the combination of a touch screen and
keyboard is a no-brainer answer (47%), lots of people seem to like its
overall design (42%) and its OS 6 software that deals better with
multi-tasking and social networking (34%), an indication that users like a
BlackBerry with a real keyboard plus better and more functions. But let's be
careful, Palm Pre has the best touch screen and keyboard combination but was
still doomed shortly after launch.
For users having the intention to buy a BlackBerry Torch, the largest age
group is the one between 16 and 34, which hardly suits the stereotype of
middle-aged, suit-clad business executives. Perhaps this means there are some

The result may sound somewhat discouraging for both RIM and die-hard

KALAMAZOO, Mich., Aug. 10 -- Verizon Wireless has activated two new cell sites in Van Buren County, Mich., which enable more customers traveling along Interstate 94 to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell sites, each of which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, improve voice and data coverage along the following major roads:

'Free' Laptop Deals are Still Number one With Consumers
CAMBRIDGE, England, August 10, 2010-- Despite claims mobile broadband sales have dipped, and some bad press for
both mobile broadband speeds and the way the offers are marketed, so-called
'free' laptop deals are still number one with consumers, according to
Broadbandgenie.co.uk.
There has been much criticism of the sales term 'free laptops'. The cost
of the laptop is actually factored in to the monthly payments through the
contract, which normally spreads over two years. They are more like hire
purchase arrangements, but with little (if any) extra interest added, making
them a very tempting proposition for many.
Almost half of mobile broadband sales made after comparing products at
Broadband Genie are still laptop deals, despite the fact dongle-only and
pay-as-you-go deals are significantly cheaper. Deals where the laptop isn't
'free', but greatly reduced in price, are also proving extremely popular.
This figure has not changed significantly over the past year, despite the
fact broadband suppliers have pulled back from promoting and advertising
these deals, with some stopping them altogether. Despite this, the public's
desire for them is still very strong.
These figures are even more surprising when you account for the fact
mobile broadband networks tend to reject around 75 per cent of online
applications made for 'free' laptop deals, due to credit ratings not meeting
their required standards.
Broadband Genie editor Chris Marling said: "Mobile broadband is getting a
bit of a hammering from all sides at the moment. Average speeds are a
fraction of those advertised, and haven't gone up significantly for what
seems like an age - a far cry from the challenge to home broadband some
predicted.
"At the other end of the scale, the mobile has become a real challenger
on data. Smartphones are getting cheaper and more sophisticated at the same
time, while an ever growing abundance of 'apps' make surfing the web, getting
email and hooking up to social networking sites a breeze.
"But so-called 'free' laptop deals are still hugely popular with the
British public. In hard economic times, when savings have dried up, it's nice
to know you can get a great laptop, and get online, as soon as you sign the
deal - often with no initial financial outlay."

.CO Internet Announces Landrush Auctions for .CO Domain Names
Registry Reaffirms Commitment to Protect the Rights of Brand Owners
MIAMI, Aug. 10 -- .CO Internet S.A.S. (http://www.COinternet.co) announced that auctions will commence today for the more than 2,500 .CO domain applications that received multiple bids during the .CO "Landrush" phase. The auctions, which will take place over the course of the next four weeks, are only open to the individuals and entities that previously applied to register a specific .CO domain during the .CO Landrush phase. Eligible parties must register at http://www.COauctions.co in order to participate.
After only three weeks since its launch, nearly 410,000 .CO domain names have been registered in more than 180 countries worldwide. Among the more than 2,500 domains to be auctioned, the three with the most applicants are Slots.co, Insure.co and Denver.co. Other notable .CO domain names up for auction include Mexi.co, America.co, Betting.co, Vitamins.co, UsedCars.co, Happy.co, Ebook.co and Jackpot.co.

.CO Registry Reaffirms Commitment to Create a Safe, Secure Name Space
As the registry operator of the .CO TLD, .CO Internet recognizes its responsibility to serve as a reliable trustee for the .CO domain and to manage the registry in a responsible way. As such, in an Open Letter to .CO Domain Registrants published yesterday, the .CO Registry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of brand owners and domain investors, and to creating a safer, more secure online experience for corporations, organizations, entrepreneurs and individuals from around the world.
In an effort to maximize compliance and minimize confusion, the open letter is intended to educate both existing .CO domain name registrants and Landrush auctioneers about the Registry's policies and safeguards against cyber-squatting and other domain name abuses.
"Naturally we are pleased about the incredible demand that .CO domain names have generated during the Landrush phase," said Eduardo Santoyo, Corporate VP and ccTLD Manager at .CO Internet. "That said, we want to make sure that both existing registrants and auction bidders fully understand the policies and mechanisms that have been put in place to protect their rights and the rights of brand owners world-wide."
These include, for example, certain mechanisms to prevent domain name abuse and to resolve domain disputes, such as the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), which was adopted by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and incorporated by reference into .CO domain registration agreements, as a means to quickly and efficiently settle domain name disputes between registrants and third parties.
As with registrants who bought domain names directly via domain registrars, those who buy domains in .CO Landrush auctions will be responsible for determining whether a potential registration may infringe on or violate someone else's legal rights. UDRP administrative proceedings are binding, and no refunds will be given under any circumstances -- regardless of the amount paid to secure the domain name, how the domain was acquired, and/or whether the registrant or bidder was aware or unaware of any infringement.
Santoyo continues, "By creating and actively enforcing these policies, we hope to make the .CO domain extension a safer, more secure online environment for all .CO domain users."
Prior to bidding on a domain name as part of the CO Landrush auction process, all bidders are urged to consult with a qualified trademark attorney.

Honeywell Acquires Shares of Sperian Protection Held by Essilor International and Mrs. Ginette Dalloz
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., Aug. 10 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announces it has acquired all of the shares of Sperian Protection held by Essilor International, Mrs. Ginette Dalloz and Societe Civile Familiale Dalloz, at a price of Euros 117 per share (dividend attached), in accordance with the previously announced Share Purchase Agreement. As a result of this acquisition, Honeywell now holds 28.28% of the share capital and 27.53% of the voting rights of Sperian Protection.
The selling shareholders received the same price as is to be paid to Sperian shareholders tendering their shares in the pending all cash tender offer filed by Honeywell Holding France, which opened on July 12, 2010 and will close on September 2, 2010 with settlement for tendered shares to be made on September 15, 2010.
The completion of this offer has been cleared by the U.S. and European antitrust authorities and remains subject only to the successful tender by Sperian's shareholders of shares representing no less than 57% of the fully diluted number of shares (including the stakes that have just been acquired from Essilor, Societe Civile Familiale Dalloz and Mrs. Ginette Dalloz).
Pursuant to the provisions of 232-4 of the General Regulations of the AMF, the offer will be automatically reopened on the trading day following publication of the final results if there is a positive outcome. If the offer is reopened, the terms of the reopened offer will be identical to the terms of the offer. In such case, the AMF will publish the timetable for the reopening of the offer, which will last in principle ten trading days.

China Grants Samplify Patents for Wireless Base Station Technologies
Chinese Government Forging Strong Business Relationships with Multinationals

Samplify's Prism IQ compression technology is now protected by these Chinese patents. Prism IQ significantly reduces the cost and capacity of fiber-optic connections, based on the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI), between the radio units and baseband units at the top and bottom of a wireless base station, respectively. As today's wireless environments migrate to 4G, Samplify's compression technology increases today's fiber-optic capacity from 10 Gbps to up to 20 Gbps for TD-LTE deployments in China.
