Innocomm Delivers First Android 3.5G Smartphone with Telegent Mobile TV
Shark model targets growing smartphone market with low-price, high-end entry
TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 1 -- At Computex Taipei 2010 today, Telegent Systems, the company that makes television mobile, and Innocomm, a Taiwan-based provider of broadband wireless solutions, announced the introduction of the first 3.5G touchscreen smartphone based on the Android operating system to incorporate Telegent mobile TV technology.
The Innocomm Shark, which features a 3.2 inch WVGA (800x480) display, capacitive touchscreen, 8 megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5G connectivity, Wi-Fi and analog TV, is designed to address the growing interest in feature-rich touchscreen smartphones while entering the category at a price significantly lower than current comparable models. According to Gartner Dataquest, the smartphone market is expected to grow by nearly 50% in 2010 and 2011, outperforming basic handset growth over the next five years.
Innocomm is among a growing number of mobile device developers to build in Telegent's free-to-air mobile TV technology as a competitive differentiator. The Shark's analog TV feature provides consumers with mobile access to the same free-to-air television programming that they view on conventional TV sets, delivering ready access to news, sports and other preferred programming while on the go. The handset's large, high quality display combined with touchscreen controls allows for a high quality viewing experience. The model also incorporates the ability to record TV clips to a microSD card. Innocomm plans to add digital TV capability to future models.
"We expect the phone's price and feature profile to appeal to operators seeking to add 3.5G Android smartphones to their portfolio and to leverage 3G as a strategic growth platform," said Paul Wang, President at Innocomm. "The combination of analog TV with Android's feature-rich platform allows us to deliver both operator and consumer extraordinary value in markets in Asia, Latin America and parts of Europe."
Telegent has shipped more than 80 million mobile TV receivers since it first introduced its mobile TV solutions in mid-2007. The company will demonstrate its latest solutions for mobile devices at this week's event, June 1 - 5, at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, suites #1032 and 1033.
"Innocomm is well known for its quality and innovative designs," said Samuel Sheng, president and chief executive officer. "Innocomm's new model will provide carriers who are leveraging analog TV as a strategic differentiator to deliver a compelling offering in the high end smartphone category."

InstallAware and Concerity Announce Release of Windows Software Instrumentation System Called InstallAware Analytics
InstallAware and Concerity release InstallAware Analytics, an instrumentation suite for Windows applications, allowing software publishers to make more money by understanding how and where their applications are used.
SAN FRANCISCO, June 1 -- InstallAware Software Corporation, in partnership with Concerity, Inc., today announced the immediate availability of InstallAware Analytics, an easy-to-use instrumentation suite for Windows software. Using InstallAware Analytics, software publishers can make more money by understanding how and where their applications are used.
"Desktop software makers typically don't have a lot of information about how their applications are used, or what hardware their customers are using," said Sinan Karaca, Founder of InstallAware. "We believe that if application developers had better intelligence about how their applications are used, they can make more money and cut support costs simultaneously. That's why we partnered with Concerity to bring InstallAware Analytics to the market."
InstallAware Analytics is available for .NET, C++, Delphi, as well as a platform-independent API. All versions record how many times your application was used, geo-locate your users, and gather hardware profile information. In addition, ISVs can place test points within their source code to gather intelligence on anything in their program they wish. These test points can be managed remotely on the InstallAware Analytics server and enabled or disabled depending on the needs of the company.
"We're thrilled to partner with InstallAware to bring InstallAware Analytics to the market," said Matt Cupal, CEO of Concerity. "InstallAware's strong position in the market and loyal customers make them an ideal partner to shepherd in an era where software companies operate better by having access to tools which objectively measure application performance."
InstallAware Analytics can be integrated in a matter of minutes and can give ISV's valuable insight about how their customers actually use their products. Using InstallAware Analytics, software developers can:
-- Increase trial software conversion rates by understanding how
customers are using the trial.
-- Save money by only developing or testing features that are used by
customers frequently.
-- Save money by dropping support for infrequently used features.
-- Save money by dropping support for hardware platforms that are no
longer in demand.
-- Increase customer satisfaction by collecting crash reports and fixing
bugs faster.
InstallAware Analytics is respectful of end user privacy. No personal information is gathered about the user. In addition, it is required that end users opt-in to the InstallAware Analytics platform before any data is gathered.
InstallAware Analytics Requirements, Pricing and Availability
For Windows desktop applications, the InstallAware Analytics runtime requires:
-- A Windows-based PC,
-- Operating at 266MHz (or faster), with
-- 10MB of RAM (minimum used space), and

Because we are knowledge workers, the productivity gains have been tremendous. Our deployment was simple, the indexing has depth, the engine is formula one, and you can't beat the price. Information that otherwise would be buried in our enterprise systems, is now precisely and quickly found in a way that is delivering efficiencies across our business and having a direct impact on our service levels."
Coveo Expresso now includes expanded access to enterprise information including desktop content, SharePoint files, and file shares, through the Coveo Outlook Sidebar. Now, users can search across enterprise systems without leaving Outlook, allowing them to "search where they work." The Coveo Outlook Sidebar, the industry's first true enterprise search Outlook plug-in, also includes conversation folding, related conversations, related people, and related attachments, as well as faceted search, allowing users to more quickly find information, helping to speed productivity.
IT Director with Zane and Rudofsky, a New York City law firm, commented, "Coveo Expresso offers a centralized, enterprise-grade index which is different from the consumer-based desktop search engines available on the market. It allows everyone in the office to rapidly search through and find the information they need from shared folders on servers or emails stored on the Exchange Server. Since it's a server-based index, it doesn't affect the performance of their PCs, and it's easier to support than if each user has his or her own index. Coveo's architecture, ease-of-deployment and tailoring to small businesses are unique and offer a competitive advantage that I have yet to see with other search vendors on the market today."
Coveo Expresso is built on the Coveo Enterprise Search Platform, affording users with an enterprise grade solution that is extremely easy to use and deploy, and seamless to expand. For more information, and to download Coveo Expresso now, visit http://www.coveo.com/expresso.

Investment Increases Value for Consumers as Demand Grows for Wireless Voice, 3G Multimedia and Internet Access
PITTSBURGH, June 1 -- Verizon Wireless, the wireless company with the largest 3G network, has activated a new cell site in Pittsburgh, which enables more customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive email and text, picture and video messages; view high quality videos; access the Internet; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site improves coverage in Pittsburgh's North Hills, along Rochester Road as far north as Sloop Road and as far south as Lowries Run Road.
"We stay well ahead of our customers' growing needs by studying their data usage habits and test driving our network to experience firsthand the speeds and quality of our 3G network," said Mark Frazier, president-Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia Region, Verizon Wireless. "Network reliability is not just a catch phrase for us. It defines who we are."

filed for bankruptcy due to financial concerns. With this acquisition,
Bigpoint gains more than 35 new employees, including Radon Labs Managing
Directors Bernd Beyreuther and Andre Blechschmidt, who will remain with
Bigpoint and direct its newly established Berlin office.
Bigpoint CEO and Founder, Heiko Hubertz, views the deal as an
important strategic move for the company, "Under Bernd and Andre's
leadership, Radon Labs became one of Germany's top three development studios.
We're excited to add their highly qualified workforce to Bigpoint as we
continue to push the limits of what's possible in online gaming. This
acquisition is also greater proof that the market continues to consolidate.
As such, we plan to purchase additional studios, both in Germany and abroad,
to support our long-term growth strategy."
2010 marks an important year for Bigpoint's global expansion, with new
locations now operational in Berlin and San Francisco (Bigpoint Inc.), in
addition to Malta (Bigpoint International) and the company's headquarters in
Hamburg. In recent months, Bigpoint's workforce has increased to over 500
employees worldwide.
Bigpoint Berlin GmbH Opens
Since its founding in 1995, Radon Labs became known as one of the best
game development studios in Germany, developing more than 20 PC, Xbox 360,
PS3, Wii, and NDS titles that garnered over a dozen awards. The Berlin-based
company's most popular games are its first two Drakensang titles. In keeping
with Bigpoint's focus, Drankensang 3 - the next installment from the
extremely successful fantasy RPG series - will be released in 2011.
Bigpoint's acquisition of Radon Labs coincides with the opening of a new
office in Berlin, a decision that first took root in 2009 with Bigpoint's
acquisition of eLOFD GmbH, a game development studio also based in Germany's
capital. The new location officially took the name Bigpoint Berlin GmbH at
the end of May 2010. Under the Bigpoint brand, former eLOFD employees will
continue to develop browser-based video games alongside their new colleagues
from Radon Labs.

TFCC Releases Newest Version of Its Emergency Notification System, Now Called TFCC Alert®
Easier to use system includes weather alerts, new user interface, advanced security controls, social media integration, and enhanced public sign-up page
COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 1 -- Twenty First Century Communications (TFCC) announces the release of TFCC Alert®, the newest version of its emergency notification system. New advanced alerting capabilities improve communications, increase the effectiveness of emergency efforts, and ultimately reduce the costs of a traditional communications infrastructure.
With the TFCC Alert emergency notification system, government, corporate, utility, education and healthcare clients can send targeted messages to select groups or geographic areas by landline, cell phone, VoIP phone, PDA, pager, text, email, fax and TTY/TDD machines. The system also integrates with Twitter, which will give clients greater reach in fewer steps.
Jim Curran, chief technology officer for TFCC reports, "Our research and development process includes extensive work with government, corporate, utility, education and healthcare clients who use our emergency notification system every day. TFCC Alert is a blend of ideas and requests from customers, our product development team and our client management team."
TFCC Alert includes a new user interface. The task based workflow and one-page quick launch make sending notifications stress-free. Users now select the type of message they'd like to send and TFCC Alert will present only the options needed for the particular message type.
Lynn Diebold, director of emergency communications for the Monterey County, CA , has previewed the system and said, "I like that the activation and creation process is uncluttered, and that the default options are customizable and can be changed based on my needs."
TFCC Alert allows for an unlimited number of users and includes a flexible array of user profiles with different permissions, access and visibility restrictions. The system also allows for limitless security groups and provides clients with the ability to self-manage their groups.
"TFCC Alert is straight forward and simple. I'm very pleased that the activation process takes one page instead of multiple pages. The new look is much cleaner," said Bob Armstrong, director, emergency management & fire prevention for The Ohio State University.
The new weather module lets government agencies notify citizens of rapidly approaching severe weather. The public can register to receive severe thunderstorm, flash flood and tornado warnings on their landline or cell phone.
Government agencies can continue to collect unlisted phone numbers, cell phone numbers and email addresses via our enhanced public sign-up page. The new sign-up page allows residents to register up to five additional contacts under their account, such as parents, siblings, and spouses.
TFCC Alert is backed by our client care commitment. Each client is partnered with a dedicated client manager and supported by our live 24/7/365 Help Desk. Clients now also have access to the new online Resource Center. Here clients will find best practices, FAQ's, sample operating procedures, training exercises and much more. All of this is in addition to the enhanced Online Help, a searchable online database of easy-to-find technical help.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, June 1 -- GeoLearning, Inc., provider of the leading Software as a Service (SaaS) GeoMaestro(TM) Learning Management System (LMS) and comprehensive Managed Learning Services presents a conversation with Dr. Paul Schneider, senior product manager for course authoring tools at GeoLearning, as the most recent addition to the company's new podcast series.
In the podcast "Tips for Choosing the Best Course Authoring Tool," Schneider discusses questions to ask and steps to take when reviewing e-learning course authoring tools. He recommends asking the following questions at the onset to determine what your organization needs: How many people will be involved? How many courses need to be created? How many audiences are being targeted? What skills are already present on your staff? Can you produce SCORM/AICC-compliant courses?
"There are many of questions you need to answer in order to decide which tool is the best for your organization. You may determine that one tool is not going to serve all your needs. Also, you want to think about what you are building now, and what you might want to build in the future," said Schneider during the discussion with Craig Olson, GeoLearning's director of marketing. The two discussed course authoring tools that produce content that can be launched by the GeoMaestro(TM) LMS and supported by GeoLearning's Managed Learning Services.
Within the podcast, Schneider discusses some of the important considerations that people don't think about when purchasing an authoring tool, trends in online course authoring, and suggested resources for free trial downloads and demos of popular authoring tools.

Ireland's Call: Imagine Makes Substantial Gains in WiMax Revolution
DUBLIN, June 1, 2010--
- The Big Switch: as struggling Rival Eircom Hikes Bills by 3 Per Cent,
4G WiMax Provider Imagine Pledges to Keep Phone and Broadband Prices 50 Per
Cent Cheaper
Recession hit consumers in Ireland were left reeling yesterday after
former State monopoly Eircom announced that phone and broadband bills would
jump by at least 3 per cent from July 1st.
In a move that was sharply criticised across the country, 4G WiMax
provider Imagine confirmed that the excessive Eircom prices has led thousands
of customers to switch to Imagine's better quality and cheaper phone and
broadband network.
It has also been confirmed that Imagine WiMax customers are now
automatically saving over EUR400 per year when they switch to Imagine, in
addition to benefitting from lower broadband and phone bills.
Brian O'Donohoe, Managing Director of Imagine Communications Group, said
that the latest price hike represented a lost opportunity for Eircom to offer
real value to customers.
"Eircom now charges Irish consumers the highest line rental cost in the
world and has now decided to increase call costs as well," O'Donohoe said.
"It's ironic that a couple of days after the OECD critisised the Irish
regulator for failing to reduce Eircom's dominance in the Irish Market, that
Eircom goes out and yet again increases its prices," he said.
Imagine has launched WiMAX in many areas of country and is currently
rolling out in 15 new towns each month offering a service that is priced at
50% cheaper than Eircom.
Imagine has confirmed that WiMAX sales are exceeding expectations with
thousands of people switching from Eircom to save money during the recession.
Echoing the Imagine comments, Mr. Dermott Jewell of Ireland's Consumer
Association, said that the price hike represented a backwards step.
"I'm amazed that they would even have considered an increase at this
time," he said.
Mr. Jewell said that Eircom may have "shot themselves in the foot" with
this price increase, as it will trigger consumers to switch to another
provider.
Eircom said last week that sales had slipped by 9 per cent, and group
revenues were down by EUR1.38 billion.
Imagine is making high speed broadband available and affordable to
consumers across Ireland with 30 new locations now being rolled out each
month.

Radware Launches All-inclusive Security Solution to Protect Data Centers and Networks From New Hybrid Attacks: APSolute Attack Prevention
First-to-market, comprehensive and synchronized security approach provides advanced capabilities to fight known and emerging network attacks in real-time, maintaining performance and business continuity
MAHWAH, N.J., June 1 -- Radware (NASDAQ:RDWR), a leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced an industry first - APSolute Attack Prevention - a unique security solution that connects several defenses together, allowing them to work synchronously - and provide network and data center infrastructures with comprehensive protection from hybrid network attacks that pose threats such as: application vulnerability, information theft, authentication defeat, malware spread, network anomalies, application downtime, network downtime, and more.
Recent attacks in 2009 and 2010 such as the July 2009 cyber attacks and Conficker malware show that attackers are using hybrid attack techniques that utilize multiple attack types and vectors. Today, organizations are deploying individual protection tools such as Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Network Behavioral Analysis (NBA) and Denial of Service (DoS) protection. But, the use of multiple individual tools, increase costs and complexity while leaving networks and services unprotected against hybrid attacks.
"We are witnessing through the widespread attacks on enterprises and governments a distinct change in the threat landscape. Cybercriminals and hackers are using attack vectors that employ not just one but multiple threat types and don't always exploit known vulnerabilities," stated Charles Kolodgy, research vice president for IDC's Security Products. "Our research also indicates that organizations are seeking to integrate a wide variety of security techniques to provide extensible security through a single vendor. Radware is addressing this critical network security requirement by offering a combination of advanced security protections in a single device. And, they're appropriately marrying it with essential monitoring, reporting, and management capabilities followed by expert services to provide customers with a complete package, thus addressing the fuller expanse of security needs necessitated by the changing threat landscape."
Introducing Radware's APSolute Attack Prevention for Networks and Datacenters
Designed for ecommerce, service providers and large enterprises, APSolute Attack Prevention is an all-inclusive attack mitigation solution, integrating different tools/modules, plus management and reporting, which need to work in a synchronized manner to best detect and prevent hybrid threats. The key elements of this solution include: DefensePro®; an enhanced version of the award-winning network security solution; APSolute Vision(TM), a new unified management system providing monitoring, forensics and reporting; and is rounded out with a new Emergency Response Team (ERT) service, a security expert offering for immediate, hands-on assistance.
Radware's DefensePro uses multiple defense technologies and is the only solution available on the market today integrating IPS, NBA and DoS protection in a single appliance. DefensePro employs multiple detection and prevention engines including signature detection, protocol anomaly detection, stateful inspection and traffic anomaly detection. The secret sauce of DefensePro is patent protected behavioral based real-time signatures technology that detects and mitigates emerging network attacks in real time such as zero-minute attacks, DoS/DDoS attacks, application misuse attacks, network scanning and malware spread. All without the need for human intervention and without blocking legitimate user traffic:
Additionally, based on Radware's OnDemand Switch® platform, DefensePro offers throughput of up to 12Gbps and embeds two unique and dedicated hardware components: to the DME, which also prevents high volume DoS/DDoS flood attacks - without impacting legitimate traffic- and a StringMatch Engine® (SME) to accelerate signature based protection - helping to further decrease capital and operational expenditures
APSolute Vision is a unified management tool that provides centralized attack management, real-time monitoring, advanced forensics and historical reporting across the different modules, multiple DefensePro devices and locations - enabling advanced correlation for new attacks. Providing clear visibility into the happenings through the integrated modules, APSolute Vision incorporates a powerful Security Event Management Engine that enables security managers to detect, prioritize and respond to emerging network attacks that threaten the business applications infrastructure; It offers per user customization of real-time dashboards and historical reports; an advanced forensics engine providing attack evidence and attack trends analysis; compliance achievement with pre-defined report sets for PCI, HIPAA, SOX etc. and complete event lifecycle management through an advanced incident handling system including ticketing.
Emergency Response Team (ERT) is an emergency security service that provides customers with a swift and professional response that neutralizes attacks and restores network and service operational status. The ERT was specifically designed to provide a 24x7 service for customers facing DoS attacks or malware outbreaks. The ERT will provide instantaneous, expert security support to restore network and service operational status. The ERT is staffed by experts with vast knowledge and experience of network threats, detection and mitigation, and in-depth experience of the DefensePro family of products.
"The communication between these integrated protection modules with the combination of unified management and reporting is essential; the sum of all parts is bigger than the whole - it is what sets us apart from the competition," stated Avi Chesla, Vice-President Security, Radware. "Only the communication between these modules allows for the correlation of events and the ability to reach the correct conclusions concerning the level of risk and what is actually happening. With the development of APSolute Attack Prevention, we have designed a well-synchronized solution which is backed with a service offering to deliver a high-level of protection to IT infrastructures - enabling them to fight against known and emerging attacks more effectively in real-time, whilst keeping costs down and preserving performance as well as business continuity," he continued.
APSolute Attack Prevention is part of Radware's APSolute Immunity strategy, which encompasses the DefensePro product suite and is complemented by Radware's SOC (research) and Security Update Service (SUS).
Take the DefensePro Challenge
Radware is running a global marketing and advertising campaign. As part of the campaign, Radware has developed a fun and dynamic way for people to learn about new APSolute Attack Prevention capabilities, featuring a game - DefensePro Challenge. Ceragon's New Energy-Efficient Long Haul Radio Solution Cuts Power Consumption by Up To 30%
The New Solution Targets IP-Trunk Applications and can be Deployed in any Configuration or Installation Scenario in Combination With Ceragon's FibeAir(R) IP-10
TEL AVIV, Israel, June 1, 2010-- Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: CRNT), a leading provider of
high-capacity, 4G/ LTE-Ready wireless backhaul networks, today introduced the
newest member of its FibeAir RFU (Radio Frequency Unit) solutions family. The
Green Mode RFU-HP makes for unique, energy-efficient 1Gb IP Trunk radio
implementations. Featuring an adjustable power mode the Green Mode RFU-HP can
reduce radio link power consumption by as much as 30% compared with existing
solutions. The new RFU-HP is combined with Ceragon advanced FibeAir IP-10
platforms, for a complete, feature-rich IP solution with an unmatched, low
total cost of ownership.
A critical design issue for current wireless networks is the development
suitable architectures that can efficiently reduce power consumption, thereby
increasing the operational lifetime of the network, while cutting operational
expenditure. Ceragon's Green Mode RFU-HP offers automatic control of both the
power consumption as well as the transmission power, ensuring that no excess
energy is used while the network operates in "steady state". Under fading
conditions the power is automatically increased to compensate for signal loss
and to ensure the link continues to meet the required performance level.
Ideal for any deployment configuration, all-indoor, split-mount and
all-outdoor, Ceragon's new radio system can provide additional and
significant power savings across an entire telecommunication network, without
compromising performance and availability. In addition, the New RFU-HP comes
with the following unique capabilities:
- Highest available transmit power - Supporting transmit power of up to
32dBm, both in split and all indoor configurations, , the Green Mode
RFU-HP offers unmatched performance, extending wireless links over
longer distances with enhanced availability. This feature also allows
carriers to use smaller, less costly antennas without compromising the
link's reach or performance.
- High capacity - Operating in any standard channel bandwidth up to 56
Mhz, Green Mode RFU-HP delivers up to 500Mbps on a single channel, and
up to 1Gbps using cross polarization Interference Canceller (XPIC).
Additional Power and Cost Saving Benefits
- All-outdoor Trunk IP Networks - RFU-HP can be deployed in combination
with Ceragon's advanced FibeAir IP-10 solutions family in all-outdoor
configurations. Allowing for zero footprint deployments, the combined
solution can scale up to offer up to 5 Gbps of guaranteed traffic.
Requiring no heating or cooling devices, it helps operators to achieve
additional power savings.
- Support for asymmetric transmission - Unlike competing radio systems,
RFU-HP can be used in asymmetric mode (higher bandwidths downstream,
lower bandwidths upstream). This allows operators to design smarter
network architectures with lower equipment costs and reduced power
consumption across the entire network.
- Adaptive Transmit Power & Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) -
Ensuring that each microwave radio is automatically optimized to
provide the best performance under changing weather conditions.
Adaptive transmit power is used to lower the signal output power when
environmental conditions are good in order to reduce power consumption
and network interference. ACM is a technology that allows the wireless
link to adjust itself to changing weather conditions in order to
support several types of availability for different types of service.
"As the industry experts in radio technology, we continue to provide real
benefit to our customers by helping them to make communication services
accessible everywhere," said Ira Palti, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Ceragon. "By reducing the cost and power requirements of wireless long
haul solutions Ceragon enables operators to profitably serve remote
communities. We plan to continue and strengthen our offering and to solidify
our technological leadership."
