Company Provides a Connected and Protected Healthcare Solution For Patients, Healthcare Providers and Payers
TORONTO, March 23 -- Leveraging years of development in secure applications for the mobile world, Diversinet Corp. (TSX Venture: DIV, OTC Bulletin Board: DVNTF) is increasing its focus on secure mobile healthcare, the company announced today at CTIA Wireless 2010.
"We will now concentrate on expanding our development of applications that securely connect people with their healthcare information, providers and payers - in a protected manner anytime, anywhere," said Albert Wahbe, Diversinet chairman and CEO.
Elements of the company's new healthcare strategy include:
-- Introducing new products and product enhancements matched to the needs
of the mHealth industry.
-- MobiSecure® SMS, a new product that enables healthcare providers
to exchange sensitive information instantly with patients via any
mobile device in a secure and trusted environment. The product is
targeted for telemedicine and provider case/disease management.
-- MobiSecure Wallet and Vault R4.0, with advanced personalization
tools, such as over-the-air (OTA) branding and new mobile software
development kits (SDKs). This product, announced today, enables
healthcare providers to quickly launch branded versions for their
patients/members, allowing access to critical and sensitive health
information.
-- Bluetooth® connectivity to medical diagnostic devices through
MobiSecure Wallet and Vault. Planned for release in the second
half of this year, this feature will allow collection of
additional medical information, reduce user errors, and increase
the reliability of data received.
-- Creating customized portals to support mobile health applications for
physicians and healthcare providers, such as the Mihealth family
health project in Canada to deliver better care at lower cost.
-- Expanding Diversinet's network of healthcare partners and introducing
an expanded trial program for potential new healthcare partners
through a model that offers companies trials with minimal commitment.
-- Retaining Comunicano, Inc., a leading strategic communications agency,
to develop and deliver a comprehensive communications program for the
new direction. Diversinet also recently engaged Connected Health
Strategies to support business development in the United States and
globally.
"Our mobile expertise puts us in a position to meet the growing demand for secure application solutions in the healthcare industry," Wahbe said. "We have invested more than $80 million in our MobiSecure technology platform over the last 13 years and have built up a significant patent portfolio. Given government and industry mandates to move to a more efficient and effective electronic system of healthcare information management, we believe this is the ideal time to focus our solutions on healthcare providers, payers and patients."
"We have extended our pilot of our Mihealth system from Diversinet based on patients' and physicians' very positive response to how it is linking patients, physicians and clinical workers," said Dr. Wendy Graham, a lead physician with North Bay's Family Health Team in Canada. "Mihealth is enhancing patient engagement, awareness and participation in their care, as well as helping us improve relationships with patients while streamlining practice management."
mHealth Market Fit
Diversinet's solutions are highly tailored to the unique needs of the healthcare system, including regulatory requirements concerning patient information privacy such as HIPAA. Diversinet's technology delivers versatility within a complete range of offerings.
The company stands out in providing:
-- Strong mobile security, encryption, two-factor authentication for
servers and clients, and digital certificates
-- Extensive device coverage, spanning all leading mobile devices and
platforms
-- Breadth of solutions, from secure messaging to complex health
transactions
-- Support for both patient-entered and physician-verified records
-- Support for various business rules and branding to allow organizations
to customize their offerings
-- Intercommunication, which supports person-to-server, server-to-person
and person-to-person secure communications
Since late 2008, Diversinet has been providing users centralized access to their personal healthcare information, from test results to insurance information, via virtually any mobile device with Internet access. The new SMS product opens doors to the many mobile users without data plans, on a broad range of available wireless devices.
Researchers at the U.S. Army's Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) are using AllOne Mobile technology (that is based on Diversinet's MobiSecure platform) to determine if wounded warriors have a better recovery if they're in frequent contact with their case managers.
Diversinet's applications enable patients to securely and easily access and update their information, wherever they may be, whether in the doctor's office, at the pharmacy, or while traveling. Medical entries can indicate whether they were verified by a physician, ensuring future providers' willingness to base treatment on the data. Diversinet products have received awards for innovation and for their security solutions for healthcare.
With just a few clicks on a mobile device, patients can use Diversinet's solutions to access and share with trusted third parties vital information about allergies, medication usage and medical history. The company's applications can also be used to extend case management, such as reminding people to take their medication or quickly and confidentially interact with health insurance companies and their chosen medical team.
Healthcare providers and payers can quickly customize Diversinet applications to meet their own unique needs. Diversinet technology allows providers to consolidate data from multiple sources into one holistic view. Physicians can use the applications to monitor patients' treatment compliance and progress, including viewing results from home monitoring devices.
For additional peace of mind, all information and communications are connected and protected by Diversinet's highly secure architecture, which allows organizations to remain HIPAA compliant.
Growing Market Need
Numerous studies demonstrate the increasing need for access to secure electronic healthcare.
-- A 2008 survey by Credant Technologies showed one-third of healthcare
professionals store patient data on portable and mobile devices,
including USB drives, laptops and mobile phones. But only 39 percent
of healthcare organizations report encrypting the data on these
devices - devices that can easily end up in the wrong hands.
-- In fact, another recent report found that 12,500 mobile devices were
left in taxis, and 4,500 USB memory sticks were left in pants pockets
sent to dry cleaners during a six-month period last year.
-- In the medical field, people have fraudulently received $100,000
procedures based on stolen identities. One study says 10 cents of
every healthcare dollar pays for fraudulent activities.
-- Numerous studies indicate that telemedicine very effectively reduces
costs and offers benefits for patients and healthcare providers.
The use of encryption and authentication technologies gives the healthcare industry a safe, efficient way to connect people, providers and payers with critical information, offering an avenue to effectively meet customers' needs while reducing the likelihood of costly errors.
Diversinet sees mobile phones as the logical vehicle for providing this service. The number of mobile phone subscriptions worldwide has reached 4.6 billion. Further, the arrival of iPhones and similar products has led consumers to expect more real-time information at their fingertips.

Diversinet Extends Reach of Mobile Healthcare Information With New Product Release Targeting Healthcare Organizations
MobiSecure(R) Wallet and Vault R4.0 Adds Personalization Capabilities And Software Development Kit
TORONTO, March 23 -- Healthcare organizations looking to reduce costs and improve patient care by extending their information management to the mobile world can now do so without undergoing extensive product development and testing, while also maintaining feature flexibility, security and branding.
A new major product release announced today by Diversinet Corp. (TSX Venture: DIV; OTC Bulletin Board: DVNTF), makes this all possible via a highly customizable and virtual turnkey solution.
Diversinet, a leading innovator of secure mobile applications, has introduced Release 4.0 of its MobiSecure® Wallet and Vault, which features new advanced personalization tools ideally suited to healthcare organizations.
"With this major new release of our MobiSecure Wallet and Vault, we are expanding the reach of mobile healthcare information and making it easier and more secure for mobile users to engage with rich content and media on the go," said Albert Wahbe, Diversinet chairman and CEO.
"In keeping with our increased focus on secure mobile healthcare information sharing technology, this release targets existing large-scale consumer and enterprise mobile application providers. It will be particularly useful for mobile health applications such as personal health records, case and disease management, clinical trials and identity management."
Diversinet's MobiSecure Wallet is a downloadable mobile application that facilitates secure two-way communications between users and service providers. It enables users to store and access critical information from a single source "anytime, anywhere," on their mobile devices. MobiSecure Vault acts as the backend server that supports the Wallet and connects to third-party applications.
Accompanying these products is a new software development kit (SDK) that provides developers tested tools to quickly build new mobile applications without compromising security or data integrity. The SDK includes rich mobile client, security, provisioning and secure communication with backend servers.
The new personalization tools of the MobiSecure Wallet and Vault platform enable organizations to manage content, system hierarchy, application icons and the overall color scheme of the application. These capabilities allow organizations to manage the look and feel of mobile applications, reinforcing brand awareness and maintaining market presence.
Additionally, Wallet users have the ability to personalize text font properties for accessibility; application messages; and general system settings, such as automatically synching data upon application startup.
The SDK speeds the time to market for a wide range of healthcare applications. It enables developers to rapidly create new mobile applications or extend existing PC or server applications to the mobile space securely and efficiently, without the need to design proprietary security, mobile frameworks or tools. The SDK also provides tools for secure provisioning, strong authenticating, securing data storage and synchronization with the MobiSecure Vault server.
Illustrating the flexibility of these product enhancements, Diversinet has already enabled Intersections Inc., a leading provider of identity theft protection services, to privately label the services as IDENTITY GUARD® Total Protection(SM).
Chip Tsantes, Intersections CTO, said, "MobiSecure Wallet and Vault R4.0 enabled us to independently rebrand our mobile solution on the fly to match our commercial client's branding requirements."
MobiSecure-based products are tested extensively on more than 200 mobile devices, including smartphones and feature phones offered by all leading North American wireless operators. The MobiSecure technology works across a wide range of mobile device platforms, including iPhone(TM), BlackBerry(TM), Android(TM), BREW®, Java(TM)-based (J2ME) devices, and devices based on MS Windows Mobile® for Pocket PC. The Sacramento Press Creates Identification Badges to Build Site Transparency, Contributor Recognition
New Program Features Identification, Merit Badges for Site Contributors
SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 23 -- The Sacramento Press has created two new badge programs -- merit badges to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of its contributing writers, and identity badges to identify the affiliations of contributors to the site - as it strives to give readers the highest level of transparency.
A virtual Identification Badge now appears next to a contributor's name anytime it's displayed on The Sacramento Press website. Examples include Sacramento Press staff writers and interns, as well as those who contribute to the site in an official capacity for their employers, such as city employees, law enforcement and fire department employees.
Another type of Identification Badge is the Verified Community Contributor Badge, which designates that a writer is using his or her real identity on the site. Community contributors are individuals who have signed up to write for the site.
"One of our biggest focuses when it comes to providing quality reporting and information on our site is transparency," said Geoff Samek, co-founder of The Sacramento Press. "The Identification Badges are another big step toward assuring transparency, thus improving the quality of content on our site."
Lynn Mayugba, Vice President Corporate Strategy, added: "The site still provides anonymity for those who wish to have it; however, the Identification Badge is an important addition to the site for readers who want to be sure that the writer/contributor really is the person they say they are."
In addition to Identification Badges, contributors also now can earn Merit Badges in recognition of a number of specific accomplishments.
Merit Badges can be earned for attending workshops that enable contributors to improve their journalistic skills. Such workshops include Journalism Ethics, Introduction to Photography, Sacpress Tools and Tricks, The Associated Press Stylebook and more. Merit Badges also are awarded based on the number of front-page articles and the number of featured comments that contributors receive. Additionally, Merit Badges are given to contest winners.
"Recognizing our contributors is an important part of the success of The Sacramento Press," Mayugba said. "The badges provide motivation for contributors to continue their much-valued interaction with our readers and they let contributors know how much we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to the site."

SMobile Systems Unveils New Mobile Security Software to Protect Children from Sexting, Cyber-Bullying and Mobile Predators
Mobile Security Application Provides Critical Protections to Parents
COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 23 -- With millions of pre-teens and teenagers carrying mobile phones, instances of cyber-stalking, cyber-bullying and "sexting" (sending sexually explicit images or text messages) are on the rise, and has resulted in everything from the prosecution of children and parents to teen suicide. To help parents protect their children from these "mobile assaults," SMobile Systems, the leading provider of security solutions for mobile phones, has unveiled the latest version of its Parental Controls and Monitoring service to now include GPS tracking and picture monitoring.
The Parental Controls Dashboard is an easy-to-use, web-based software, which provides parents with insight into their children's mobile activities and location to help ensure their safety. SMobile's Parental Controls Dashboard enables parents to define and set keyword alerts, view the people contacting their child, utilize remote location services, and monitor pictures, images and messages sent to and from their child's phone.
"Cell phones have become powerful mobile computing devices, complete with digital cameras and video recorders. As smartphone prices continue to fall, they have become a 'must have' for kids and teens," said Neil Book, CEO of SMobile Systems. "There's a perception out there that if we put parental control software on our desktops at home, we're keeping our kids safe from cyber threats. But the reality is, our children are walking around with handheld computers in their pockets that are connected to the internet 24 hours a day. Our goal in developing the Parental Controls Dashboard is to give parents a similar set of tools to monitor their kids' mobile activities as they have with programs like NetNanny and other Internet solutions for monitoring their personal computers."
The core functionality of the Parental Controls Dashboard includes:
Monitoring

Alcatel-Lucent's New Smart DeskPhone Combines the Rich Communication Experience of a Smartphone, Enterprise Reliability and Open Applications
ORLANDO, Florida, March 23, 2010--
- VoiceCon Booth #816
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced today
an innovative new class of "Smart DeskPhones" that transforms a desk phone
into a rich communication experience beyond what mobile smartphones provide.
The new phone brings together enterprise reliability, fast, convenient access
to multimedia communications capabilities and web applications to create
personalized mashups or industry-tailored applications.
The Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch(TM) 8082 My IC Phone ushers in a
new era of software access and sophistication never before seen in a desktop
phone, and redefines what users can do from their desk. Unlike traditional
desk phones, the new device offers an open platform and an entirely new user
interface based on a large multi-touch display. Powered by pioneering new
software and an open interface, it has a seven-inch wide capacitive touch
screen that is LED backlit and includes context aware sensory feedback, as
well as connectivity to Bluetooth and USB devices. Its green design includes
compliance with EU green standards, including low power consumption, long
life, and an online manual.
The new interface allows enterprises to leverage new and
existing applications and capabilities, such as instant messaging, presence,
contextual applications, integrated e-mail, and MP3 music which can be
brought together on the desktop. A powerful example of the company's approach
to Application Enablement, the new phone serves as an application pod
featuring an open API developer platform similar to the approach taken in the
applications explosion in the mobile space , and will be integrated with the
next generation Unified Communication services from Alcatel-Lucent.
Critical to supporting the new phone and platform,
Alcatel-Lucent is leveraging its Developer Application portal that brings
together best-in-class applications. The portal is an extension of the
successful Alcatel-Lucent Applications Partner Program (AAPP), bolstering a
vibrant community that already has more than 10,000 active developers and
partner companies. To join, go to http://developer-enterprise.alcatel-lucent.com
Developers are currently tailoring applications for specific
industries, such as hospitality and financial services, where unique features
are most impactful. For example, a tailored set of applications in a
financial services environment could include tailored applications such as
real-time video and twitter feeds from traders, to enable a rich experience
which augments the capabilities of a desktop PC.
"This new device has the potential to transform the role of
the desktop phone. No longer constrained and static, it offers a quicker,
more convenient and reliable alternative, complementing smartphones and
desktop computers," said Zeus Kerravala, distinguished research fellow at
Yankee Group. "The device can harness the creativity of third party
developers and give business users an emotional attachment to their
deskphone, its introduction will be one to watch."
My IC Phone is being debuted at VoiceCon in Orlando for
developers and enterprise customers and will be available in late 2010. A
demonstration version of the phone is running at the Alcatel-Lucent booth to
show a range of applications.
The Developer portal will become accessible in Q2 and will
allow developers to begin creating applications immediately. A complete range
of tools for open application development are available using standards such
as Java Script, HTML 5.0, Ajax, and an open API, including connectivity to
Bluetooth devices and LANs or PCs.
Designed for an enterprise business environment, it is
critical to provide a secure management framework for its applications. Smart
DeskPhone application deployment and update can be centralized and controlled
via an enterprise administrator. The Smart DeskPhone will also support
application signing and certification, ensuring administrators can guarantee
security and reliability while giving users a great experience.

New Site Aims to Bring Together Educators, Policy-Makers, and Stakeholders Interested in the Future of U.S. Public Education
NEW YORK, March 23 -- Taking advantage of current social media technology, Teachers Network -- with funding from the Ford Foundation -- is introducing an important forum for collaboration to a population currently underserved by social networking platforms. Teachers Network has just launched a social networking website (http://www.effectiveteachers.org), in order to bring interested people together through a national, online community to share ideas, suggestions, and examples of what is helping to support and keep effective teachers teaching.
The goal is for this site to become the "go-to" place for discussions on education topics -- especially to help inform the national conversation about supporting teachers. Through collaboration of educators, policy-makers, and virtually all public stakeholders, the aim is to improve teacher effectiveness and retention in all schools so that every student has the very best possible opportunity to achieve. From its inception, Teachers Network has been dedicated to improving student learning in public schools by cutting through teacher isolation and encouraging collaboration among educators. Findings released last month from the national survey conducted by Teachers Network, "What Keeps Effective Teachers in the Classroom," show that quality teaching is largely the result of a variety of measures that need to be put in place to better support teachers, and point to the necessity of teachers and others having many opportunities to collaborate.
Ellen Dempsey, Teachers Network's President & CEO, affirms that, "Through its long history and experience of encouraging networking opportunities with a focus on emerging technologies, Teachers Network is uniquely poised to take on the role of host for such a platform."
As online communication is increasingly the way of the present and future, Teachers Network recognizes the need to incorporate social networking into national education discussions. This site is designed to be separate from Teachers Network's main website http://www.teachersnetwork.org -- which receives well over half-a-million hits per month. Visitors to http://www.effectiveteachers.org will be able to access content and any discussions/comments made by community members, post topics and replies in a simple discussion forum environment, and register and become members in order to participate in ongoing dialogue. Teachers Network, along with leading experts in the field will moderate and encourage topics essential to supporting teachers. This new site will also provide another means of presenting the survey findings of the research report, accompanying documentary-video, brochure, and multiple policy briefs -- as well as focus on the regional forums/convenings that are occurring in conjunction with the dissemination of this study and revolve around the related discussions.
About Teachers Network [http://www.teachersnetwork.org]. Teachers Network is a non-profit organization -- by teachers, for teachers -- with a three-decade long track record of success, dedicated to improving student learning in public schools, and cutting through teacher isolation. Using the power of an award-winning website, video, and print resources, it leverages the creativity and expertise of a national and international community of outstanding educators. The organization is unique in its focus on the teacher as key to improving student achievement in public schools. Through its leadership, Teachers Network empowers teachers to transform public schools into creative learning communities so every student will succeed and contribute to the public good. Over the years, Teachers Network has directly impacted over 1.5 million teachers and nearly 40 million students.

Offerpal Media Acquires Leading Mobile Monetization Provider Tapjoy
Transaction strengthens Offerpal's position as the leader in monetizing and distributing mobile applications
FREMONT, Calif., March 23 -- Offerpal Media (http://www.offerpalmedia.com/), the leader in virtual currency payment alternatives, today announced it has acquired Tapjoy, creators of the Tapjoy platform for mobile developers and the leading provider of monetization and distribution services on the iPhone, Android and other emerging mobile platforms. The acquisition accelerates Offerpal's expansion into the rapidly growing mobile market by extending the company's virtual currency monetization model to mobile applications.
The Tapjoy platform includes a turnkey software library that enables mobile developers to embed fully functional virtual goods storefronts with the ability to process microtransactions. The library also comes with a built-in Pay-Per-Install user acquisition program, an ad optimization layer and application analytics. As part of the agreement, the co-founders of Tapjoy will join Offerpal in leadership positions to help expand its mobile business. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
"There are more than 200 million mobile phone users in the U.S. alone, and most of them will soon have a way to play games on their devices," said George Garrick, Chairman and CEO of Offerpal Media. "We also expect the microtransaction model to move beyond games, and for there to be practically unlimited applications for microtransactions on mobile platforms as well as the Web. The addition of Tapjoy provides us with a proven product that dovetails nicely with our own platform strategy and creates tremendous economic advantages for mobile developers."
Offerpal Media's full-service monetization platform is a hosted service empowering more than 2,000 game developers and social publishers to monetize virtual currency through alternative payment methods such as offers, surveys, videos, shopping rewards, tasks and more. The company first announced its mobile program in January, 2009. Today, mobile-friendly versions of its network offers are running on top iPhone applications such as Tap Tap Revenge, Tap Farm, Papaya, Mobsters: Big Apple, and many others.
The Tapjoy founders, Lee Linden and Ben Lewis, originally developed top-ranked iPhone applications such as TapDefense, TapSudoku, TapWord and others. They used key learnings from building their own bestselling and highly profitable apps to create the Tapjoy services that now benefit other developers. Currently, more than 1,000 mobile developers have integrated all or parts of the Tapjoy library, and the company's annual installs, user base and revenue is expected to quadruple this year. Tapjoy's reach extends to over 35 million mobile consumers. The Tapjoy library is the leading virtual goods and virtual currency service on the iPhone and the only such service available on the Android.
"The opportunity for innovation in mobile gaming is almost unlimited, but developers face great challenges when it comes to monetizing and distributing their applications," said Lee Linden, Co-founder of Tapjoy. "Our goal is to help mobile developers improve their applications, grow their user bases and generate higher revenues, and through this deal with an industry leader like Offerpal, we can now do all of that more effectively."
About Offerpal Media
Offerpal Media is the leader in virtual currency monetization for online games, virtual worlds and social networks. The company's turnkey payment platform gives consumers the opportunity to earn virtual currency for free by taking part in targeted advertising offers, shopping at big-brand retailers, completing online surveys, watching videos or otherwise engaging with brands. eMeter Announces New Smart Grid Appliance Bundle to Help Utilities Jump Start Grid Initiatives
New Bundle Available with eMeter's EnergyIP(TM) and Energy Engage(TM) and IBM Tivoli and WebSphere Software Preloaded on IBM POWER7 Systems
SAN MATEO, Calif., March 23 -- eMeter and IBM today announced a first-of-its-kind bundled software package from eMeter, available preloaded on IBM hardware, designed to help electric, gas and water utilities customers implement their Smart Grid implementations out of the box.
Many utilities worldwide have demonstrated their commitment to the Smart Grid and have encountered challenges associated with building a solution from several piece parts. Now, by starting with templates of Smart Grid best practices and out-of-the box adapters for Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) systems, the combination of IBM and eMeter technology can help utilities reduce the implementation and test cycle time from a year to as little as six months, and shave as much as 60% off the implementation cost.
Developed for municipal and mid-sized utilities, the new eMeter Smart Grid Appliance combines a set of software, tools, and best practices available preloaded on IBM POWER7 systems for rapid implementations. Effective Smart Grids should be able to automatically monitor and control two-way energy flow that allow consumers to manage energy usage right down to the individual networked appliance. This requires the ability for utilities to host and manage billions of transactions securely and efficiently.
"Having worked with several utilities that have succeeded with large-scale Smart Grid rollouts, eMeter and IBM took on the responsibility of identifying the right set of hardware and software tools best suited for these critical projects," said Bobby Napiltonia, SVP of Sales and Alliances at eMeter. "The Smart Grid Appliance delivers a solution for utilities looking to quickly and easily make the most of their Smart Grid investments."
The demand for rapid development and deployment for Smart Grids is growing as current city infrastructure boundaries are continually being tested with population increases driving new and higher demand for energy. Governments around the world are allocating stimulus money to revamp energy systems--the U.S. alone has assigned $4.3 billion to the effort. eMeter and IBM have developed technologies and programs to enable this global shift working with countries and utilities all over the world to establish the necessary policies and smart grid roll-out strategies to ensure the highest level of success and to move closer toward smarter transportation, policing, governance and grids.
With eMeter's Smart Grid Appliance built on IBM technology, utilities will not only be able to put these stimulus funds to work, but can achieve operational efficiencies and new levels of customer responsiveness more quickly and be able to show those results to their regulators and customers alike.
"By eMeter leveraging IBM technology, our utility clients will be able to streamline their Advance Metering Infrastructure projects and reduce implementation and operational costs associated with their smart grid programs," said Allan Schurr, VP of Strategy for IBM Energy & Utilities, "This serves as another example of IBM and its partners working together to help transition the world toward smarter energy and ultimately a smarter planet."
Through an IBM Application Specific Licensing agreement, the new eMeter bundle combines IBM Tivoli Monitoring and WebSphere 7 Application Server software with eMeter EnergyIP(TM) meter data management and Energy Engage(TM) home energy solutions. These technologies are offered preloaded and optimized to take advantage of the capabilities of IBM's recently announced POWER7 systems.
To manage the demands of emerging applications such as smart grids, as well as traditional applications, the new IBM Power Systems with POWER7 technology are designed with workload-optimizing technologies. The new systems also feature technology breakthroughs in virtualization, energy savings, more cost-efficient use of memory, and better price performance to enable clients to lower costs.
The Smart Grid Appliance will become available in the second quarter of 2010.
About eMeter
eMeter provides essential software that enables electric, gas and water utilities to realize the full benefits of Smart Grid. Leading utilities worldwide depend on eMeter Smart Grid Management software to reduce operational costs, improve customer service, and drive energy efficiency. With the most large-scale deployments in the industry and strategic partnerships with Accenture, IBM, Logica, and Siemens, eMeter has built a reputation for unparalleled expertise that ensures customer success. Alcatel-Lucent's New Mobile Wallet Service Places Operators in the Center of the Mobile Payment Equation
Wallets go mobile with innovative hosted business model that delivers new user experience
LAS VEGAS, March 23 -- CTIA -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) takes a step closer to replacing the physical wallet by announcing the Mobile Wallet Service (MWS), a complete solution that places the mobile operator in the center of the emerging mobile payment equation. Unique in the industry, MWS leverages an operator's trusted network, to deliver consumer applications such as person to person payment, remote ticketing, proximity payment and m-commerce. All of these services are aggregated onto a single MWS platform, with the flexibility to scale based on consumer demand. MWS also allows third parties to develop and integrate new applications through an Application Enablement API. This "ready to offer" service empowers consumers to use their mobile phones to manage daily transactions such as payments, coupons, loyalty points and gift vouchers.
By bringing together bank/payment providers, applications and access devices, Alcatel- Lucent has created a new customer experience which can help operators to increase revenue, reduce subscriber churn and bring new services to market. MWS builds on Alcatel-Lucent's previously announced partnership with Clear2Pay to collaborate on a mobile payment framework. Enhanced with building blocks for end to end transaction flow, the solution includes handset applications, a stored value account, gateways to banks and payment networks, links to an operator's billing system and a portfolio of access devices for proximity payment.
MWS is delivered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), a turnkey solution that places mobile operators at the hub of the mobile payment value wheel with minimal up-front costs. The innovative platform, commercialized by Alcatel-Lucent Ventures, can be customized to create unique experiences that are relevant for specific markets. For example, consumers in developed countries want the convenience of paying for goods and services from their mobile phones. In growth economies, MWS can be adapted to deliver money management services via a mobile device.
"Consumer tastes and technology can change in the blink of an eye," said Anthony Belpaire, General Manager, touchatag, Alcatel-Lucent Ventures. "Our approach allows operators to bring timely and relevant mobile wallet services to consumers, to scale with consumer demand and to dynamically add new applications."
"Mobile wallet solutions, like Alcatel-Lucent's, position mobile operators as primary providers of payments to their customers," said Samee Zafar, Director at Edgar Dunn & Company. "By providing the core customer account and related user tools, operators retain customers, strengthen customer relationships and reduce the biggest problem operators face - customer attrition."
Alcatel-Lucent will showcase the Mobile Wallet Service at the CTIA Tradeshow and

NEW YORK, March 23 -- HealthiNation, the premier health video company, today announced the launch of its latest video series: "Health Insights." The new series is now available to viewers across HealthiNation's video network online and on cable video on demand.
The "Health Insights" series (available at http://www.healthination.com/Videos/Health-Insights-Diabetes) complements HealthiNation's core education-based programming by providing a deeper look at a particular condition featuring top medical experts from around the country. The series is designed for people who may be recently diagnosed with a condition or know a friend or loved one currently managing a condition. In conjunction with the 22nd Annual American Diabetes Association Alert Day, the series debuts with a closer look at Diabetes, featuring Dr. Derek LeRoith, Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and former Chief of the Diabetes Branch at the National Institutes of Health.
"The concept for 'Health Insights' centers on the idea that if you could get time with an expert on a certain condition, what would you ask?" said Dr. Holly Atkinson, Chief Medical Officer, HealthiNation. "Our focus has always been on educating and inspiring our viewers to make healthier choices. "With 'Health Insights' we are excited to take it a step further by giving them this unprecedented access to medical professionals."
According to the American Diabetes Association, 57 million Americans are at risk for Type 2 diabetes. As part of Diabetes Alert Day, the ADA is encouraging people to find out if they are at risk by taking the risk assessment test, available at http://www.StopDiabetes.Com. Comcast Spotlight is also doing a full day promotion through interactive program guide banners.
"At Mount Sinai, we encourage patients to take an active role in their health and the more we can contribute to that effort the better off we all are," said Dr. LeRoith. "Patients can be overwhelmed by their diagnosis and not know what questions to ask. I believe this type of proactive and in-depth education will further help patients take control of their lives as they make critical decisions about their future and well being."
As part of the ongoing series, viewers will be encouraged to submit questions for new episodes on important topics through Facebook (http://www.Facebook.com/HealthiNation) and Twitter (http://www.Twitter.com/HealthiNation). Video component of the Media Entertainment Platform now available to mobile operators and media companies Saves time and money for operators and media companies, while creating new revenue streams Highest quality service available, built on 15 years' heritage in streaming
LAS VEGAS, March 23 -- CTIA Wireless -- Digital entertainment services company RealNetworks®, Inc. (RNWK), is demonstrating its new Mobile Video Portal (MVP) for mobile operators and media companies this week at CTIA Wireless. Real--which already manages mobile video services for the two largest mobile operators in the US--has created the MVP to save operators and media companies time and money, while creating new revenue opportunities. Real's long heritage in streaming--having created the streaming media category in 1995--provides the environment to create the highest quality live and on-demand video service available.
Saves Time And Money
Real reduces the cost and resources required to manage a rich media experience by providing operators and media companies an end-to-end, white-label solution from a single, hosted platform vendor. Customers can create, manage and publish both live and on-demand video through one platform and service. Further, Real has created innovative ways to quickly create an application (app) and publish it to all platforms, including iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Java, as well as create and publish Mobile Websites on most devices.
Creates Revenue Opportunities
Real's MVP creates new sponsorship, co-branding and advertising opportunities within mobile apps and websites, in addition to supporting a variety of business models that allow operators and media companies to charge for their video services. Operators and media companies can utilize a variety of business models to build advertising revenue. Real's easy-to-use app-creation tool provides non-technical employees an efficient way to easily create a new look-and-feel for the portal without requiring developer skills. This allows the creative team the capability to test and optimize campaigns with minimal lag time. The advertising opportunities within the portal include banner ads, micro sites, interstitial advertising and integrated advertising experiences (i.e. rebranding the landing page for the service). In addition, tools are available to support subscription, rental and retail monetization methods, as an operator or media company chooses.
Streaming Heritage=Highest Quality
Real has more depth and experience in video streaming than any company in the industry. It brings this history--along with a staff of highly-experienced broadcast engineers who monitor the service 24/7--to its latest video offering, providing a reliable service with high availability and fast resolution for any service issues. Currently, Real manages video services for the two largest mobile operators in the US and works with more than 150 content provider brands to manage their video assets and brands.
"We look forward to providing more and more partners with world class video services for their customers," said Ken Pecot, vice president, Technology Products and Services, RealNetworks. "With our current installed base for entertainment services, history in streaming, and track record of providing services that subscribers want and are willing to pay for, we believe we are well positioned to become the leading mobile video portal provider."
Real's new Mobile Video Portal (MVP) is one component of its Media Entertainment Platform, which streamlines an operator's entertainment offerings into one managed portal, providing increased efficiency for the operator and a more user-friendly entertainment experience for subscribers.
Real offers mobile operators a comprehensive selection of mobile services including: Music; Video; RBTs and personalization; and messaging services. Real's ASP services are currently available through 86 different mobile operators in 48 countries worldwide, making them available to more than 900 million subscribers.

PT Launches IPnexus(R) Element Management System for Remote, IP Monitoring and Management of Mission-Critical Systems
Enables Efficient, Cost-effective Monitoring of Globally Deployed Communications Infrastructure
LAS VEGAS, March 23 -- PT (NASDAQ:PTIX), the recently rebranded Performance Technologies, a leading global provider of advanced network communications solutions, today announced the release of its IPnexus® EMS (Element Management System), an IP-native system that allows network engineers at wireless and wireline carriers, service providers, and OEMs to rapidly install, monitor, and simultaneously manage hundreds of network elements from a single, secure interface point.
The IPnexus EMS system is a stand-alone, turn-key carrier grade device that includes all the hardware and software needed to provide a highly-available, centralized, and scalable management system that adheres to the five key ITU-T recommended areas: fault, configuration, performance, accounting, and security. With IP-based networks and communication systems increasing in size, complexity, and geographical dispersal, it is paramount for system operators to have an advanced tool that controls, manages, and monitors mission-critical network elements. This capability is vital for ensuring optimal system performance as well as for maintaining system availability and operational status. In addition, it assists with network revenue generation, and shortens the failure recovery interval. Rather than attempting to manage systems by the traditional means of linking each element on an individual basis, the IPnexus EMS simplifies connection to multiple elements with its extensible plug-in architecture. Its web-based design eases the management of these network elements through an IP port, making all configuration parameters accessible through the use of a built-in context-based, SNMP proxy engine. It supports a full set of management features that allow control and monitoring of a wide range of products, including PT's own IPnexus Application-Ready Systems, SEGway(TM) signaling and Xpress(TM) NGN solutions.
"From the inception of our design we set out to create a product that surpasses the traditional approach of an EMS," said John Grana, senior vice president of Products and Technology at PT. "By utilizing a web framework like Ruby on Rails® and exploiting inherent IP features, we offer unique capabilities such as an intuitive browser based graphical user interface, built in mapping for geographical based monitoring and real-time performance graphing, all of which are usable on any web enabled device. We believe that we have set the new standard in Element Management Systems in today's IP-based communication network."
PT is demonstrating its IPnexus EMS this week at CTIA Wireless 2010 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, in booth # 6551.

OEMs and application developers, including PT itself, leverage the robust carrier grade Linux® development environment and rich suite of communications protocols (PT's NexusWare®) of IPnexus Application-Ready Systems as a cornerstone component of their end product value proposition. PT's SEGway(TM) Signaling Solutions provide low cost, high density signaling, advanced routing, IP migration, gateway capabilities, SIP bridge, and core-to-edge distributed intelligence. The company's Xpress(TM) NGN applications enable evolving Mobile 2.0, Multi-media, and IMS based revenue generating services. New Sharetivity Plug-In Eliminates Old Bookmarking Method
A new browser plug-in kicked off by Palo Alto-based Sharetivity allows individual users to customize, save, share and discuss content all in one location: their browser.
PALM DESERT, Calif., March 23 -- If you've ever experienced the hassle of multiple tabs, bookmarking endlessly, and copy and pasting into e-mails in order to keep track of your Internet finds, content-sharing on the Web has a new place to call home: Sharetivity.
Sharetivity kicks off an entirely user-oriented content sharing application, meeting individual needs overlooked by sharing giants ShareThis and AddThis. Leading sharing widgets and browser software only allow for one-time sharing of an entire page, but Sharetivity's new plug-in follows users from site to site with customized content-selection tools, sharing options for a plethora of social media sites and automatic saving of each selection. The plug-in eliminates the hassle of multiple windows and tabs, saving content externally, and losing track of where content has been shared. Sharetivity shares, saves and streams all desired content, logging all activity within the user's home browser.
The browser plug-in allows individuals full functionality from any page on the Web, even low-volume sites which have not installed sharing buttons for such outlets as e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and Google Buzz. Sharetivity's plug-in is geared toward students, collaborative researchers, bloggers, freelance writers, travel planners and other Web surfers who often use a disjointed combination of one-time sharing buttons and copy-and-paste methods. The plug-in also provides both a private discussion area and a public content-streaming feature to share, save, stream and discuss in a single location. The aggregated content is useful for bibliographies, research logs and travel itineraries, among other reasons why people browse and collaborate on the Web.
"One of the most important things we are doing is bringing the "Email a friend" feature, which has been around for more than a decade, into the realm of social media," said Ankesh Kumar, CEO of Sharetivity. "The ability to save what you e-mail, see what your friends are e-mailing, and view all past social networking shares with no additional effort is key in getting mainstream adoption of social media."
Unique to Sharetivity, this browser plug-in takes sharing one step further, saving time and steps associated with re-sharing and keeping track of content. Among the 58 social networks connected to Sharetivity, users can select and group their favorite outlets for instant, simultaneous sharing.
Recently launched at DEMO, a bi-annual international conference for emerging technology products, the Sharetivity plug-in garnered attention for its problem-solving capabilities.
"When considering companies for DEMO, we look for meaningful new technologies, including products designed to personalize Web content in radically new ways," said Matt Marshall, Executive Producer of DEMO. "Sharetivity has combined innovation with functionality to greatly improve the browsing experience."
Sharetivity provides solutions for individuals who want to do more with their shared content, whether by e-mail, social network or other bookmarking site. The company's flagship product is a new browser plug-in that allows users to share, save and discuss content all in one location: their home browser. Recently launched at DEMOspring2010, the plug-in is designed to revolutionize the way Web content is utilized, re-utilized and shared across the Web. Based in Palo Alto, California, Sharetivity is a division of AppMail LLC, which has developed business solution software for such companies as LeapFrog, CNET, Actuate and Agile.

New App Helps Bring the Power of iPhone to the Enterprise; Mobile Sales and Pharma Web Apps for Oracle Also Now Available
DALLAS, March 23 -- AT&T* has announced a new native application for business users that can help bring the power of iPhone to the enterprise. Using the AT&T WorkBench for iPhone solution, businesses can now easily provision, deploy and control enterprise web applications for work in a highly-secure, reliable and manageable fashion.
Available for download from the App Store, AT&T WorkBench helps extend existing enterprise application services to iPhone through secure web apps hosted in a managed environment. It enables companies to deploy enterprise applications in a highly-secure manner - even on mobile devices purchased by individuals.
Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and chief executive officer, will highlight the product today during his keynote at CTIA Spring 2010 in Las Vegas.
AT&T WorkBench, developed in cooperation with Antenna Software, a leader in mobile enterprise technologies and solutions, was specifically created to address the needs of businesses for deploying and helping to manage and protect mobile applications on iPhones. A significant enhancement to the AT&T Mobile Enterprise Applications Platform (AT&T MEAP), AT&T WorkBench provides:
-- Role-based deployment of web applications.
-- Enhanced IT controls for web applications such as policy management,
mobile VPN, over-the-air updates and remote data lock/wipe.
-- Certificate-based authentication using SCEP (Simple Certificate
Enrollment Protocol), which is aligned with iPhone's over-the-air
enrollment and configuration process. Ability to run multiple
enterprise web applications simultaneously and toggle instantly
between active web applications.
-- Enables employees to work with their critical data and applications
offline and automatically update when they reconnect to the network.
"AT&T WorkBench is a new solution for iPhone, which enables an organization to 'get down to business,'" said Ron Spears, President and CEO of AT&T Business Solutions. "We're seeing increased interest and demand for iPhone applications from our business customers across industries and applications. In addition, more customers are requesting to use their personal iPhones in the workplace. With AT&T WorkBench, we're able to bring an organization's key enterprise applications, such as ERP or CRM software, to iPhone users with advanced control and security features that corporate IT requires - including authentication and encryption - to enable more secure collaboration and productivity for businesses."
AT&T WorkBench: Managed iPhone Enterprise Service
"The fact AT&T WorkBench helps distribute and manage web applications for the iPhone will fuel its growth in the enterprise market," said Stephen Drake, program vice president for mobility and telecom research at IDC. "Such a solution enhances key security and control measures, without sacrificing any of the strong user experiences."
AT&T WorkBench is an integral part of AT&T MEAP, powered by Antenna Software, which offers hosted and managed mobile integration solutions and application consulting services for companies that want to extend their business-critical information to mobile employees. AT&T WorkBench enables IT organizations to provision, deploy and administer web applications and collaboration tools on the iPhone based on an employee's role and job requirements. By leveraging AT&T MEAP's hosted infrastructure, companies can easily create a highly-secure and private channel for deploying their own corporate mobile web applications with bi-directional, push messaging that helps increase transaction reliability and security.
AT&T MEAP: Mobile Sales and Pharma Apps for Oracle
Built to run on the AT&T WorkBench solution, AT&T has also announced two new mobile web applications for Oracle® CRM On Demand that are now available on iPhone:
-- AT&T MEAP Sales for Oracle CRM On Demand: enables field sales teams to
have access to their critical customer and sales information.
-- AT&T MEAP Pharma: specifically designed for sales teams in the
pharmaceutical and life sciences industries to provide real-time and
offline access to Oracle CRM On Demand for Life Sciences on the
iPhone. It also provides additional functionality that facilitates
physician detailing and drug sampling.
Both of these AT&T MEAP web applications empower sales representatives to receive and send data in real-time to easily access and quickly update contacts, users, accounts, new opportunities and leads. Additional applications focused on productivity and collaboration will soon be added to the same highly-secure and auditable environment, thereby improving collaboration while being enterprise-sanctioned.
"This innovative solution from AT&T gives Oracle customers a turn-key option to take advantage of the unique iPhone user experience that is easily governed and administered by the enterprise," said Anthony Lye, Oracle senior vice president of CRM. "Sales organizations and bio-pharma companies looking to improve sales effectiveness and customer care through mobility can quickly gain competitive advantage by leveraging this powerful combination of technologies and services."
Accessible through AT&T's leading smartphone devices, AT&T MEAP supports three primary web applications: sales force automation, which provides sales organizations with a complete view across all facets of a customer relationship; field force automation, which provides field service workers with access to real-time customer, inventory and other job-related information; and IT support, which empowers IT technicians with real-time, virtually anywhere access to time sensitive, incident and problem management information.
Businesses using AT&T MEAP can host their web application on premise or in an AT&T data center, providing on-demand access to applications and reducing overall support and overhead costs. Professional services for AT&T MEAP deployment can be performed by AT&T, by a customer's IT staff or by systems integrators.

Location-Based Dog Collar Equips Owners with Tools to Track Pets
BERKELEY, Calif. and DALLAS, March 23 -- Apisphere, Inc., a leading provider of location-smart technologies for mobile applications and devices, and AT&T* today announced an agreement to wirelessly connect a location-smart animal collar to help pet owners keep track of their pooches.
The dog collar, with an embedded wireless SIM, will leverage Apisphere's award winning geo-mobility platform to transmit location-aware data across AT&T's nationwide wireless network directly to a pet owner's wireless handset or personal computer.
Set up is simple. Based on Apisphere's intuitive platform, owners will be instructed to register their pets and important contacts as soon as they attach the collar. Owners may establish a geo-fence around the home where the pet can roam freely. Through the technology, owners can continuously track Fido's movements with the virtual geo-fence, or locate him on demand if he strays outside of his established parameters.
Apisphere software will transmit street level data for easy pet location. Owners will have the option to program text, email, video or audio alerts, to be distributed as often as they like.
"We constantly strive to develop best-in-class products and deliver a seamless user experience. Working with AT&T and the strength and reach of its network enables us to do this," said Craig Harper, president and founder of Apisphere. "The on boarding process has been effortless, thanks to the AT&T team and the AT&T Control Center software."
"There are few things as important to my daughter as knowing the whereabouts of our dog," said Glenn Lurie, president, AT&T Emerging Devices, Resale and Partnerships. "The peace of mind that a wirelessly connected collar will bring my family and pet owners across the country is long overdue. We're extremely excited about this product and its possibilities."
The pet friendly collar features a unique integrated design that allows for optimized GPS and wireless performance while virtually eliminating any restrictions on an animal's weight or neck size.
Pricing, distribution, and design details of the collar will be made available at launch, expected later this year.

The expanding list of premier mobile apps currently available for download includes: Vlingo, Voice on the Go, HulloMail, slydial Voice Messaging, MotionApps, SlackerRadio, MyCaption, d2u Transcriber, mVoice Productivity, VoiceBox Dialer with Bluetooth and Traffic, Jabra Skipping Stone, Voicebox Technologies, Inc., Talkhouse, Grooveshark, and EasyDialer 2.7.
"Mobile-phone design is changing from a hardware-centric user interface with limited functionality to a software-centric interface with unlimited functionality due the widespread high speed 3G/4G and WiFi-enabled networks," said Andrew Seybold, principal analyst for Andrew Seybold, Inc. "While the keyboard is critical to fast texting, voice-recognition and voice enabled applications allow you to compose a text message by talking into the phone and letting the software do the transcription is more practical and accurate than ever. The pairing of the excellent Multipoint, noise cancelling Bluetooth Jabra products enables these applications to become a hands-free reality."
For mobile developers, the new program offers crucial resources to developing their business and skills and staying at the forefront of the Bluetooth headset and speakerphone industry. Resources and incentives include a featured listing on the Jabra Mobile Experience website, marketing support and integration with Jabra's global marketing plans, access to Jabra technical experts, and direct exposure to Jabra's wireless carrier and retail distribution partners. The portal will also serve as a community for mobile developer's APIs to share and enhance the current applications.
