Nova and imec Developed Innovative Scatterometry Approach for Self-Aligned Quadruple Patterning (SAQP) Process Control
SAN JOSE, California, February 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Nano-electronics research center imec and Nova Measuring Instruments (Nasdaq: NVMI), a
leading innovator and key provider of metrology solutions for advanced process control
used in semiconductor manufacturing, announced today at the SPIE advanced lithography
conference that they are jointly developing an innovative scatterometry approach to enable
SAQP process control. The initial results will be presented during the conference. Â
As 193nm immersion lithography is reaching its optical resolution limit using single
exposure, advanced multipatterning concepts are studied to reach lower nodes. Targeting
the N7 node, self-aligned quadruple patterning (SAQP) is an advanced patterning approach
that uses pitch splitting to extend the capability of double patterning (SADP) 193nm
immersion lithography. Nova and imec jointly developed an approach based on scatterometry
technology to determine the main contributors to the CD (critical dimension) variation
between different populations of lines and spaces. Using parallel interpretation of
multiple scatterometry targets with slightly variable pitches, the researchers revealed
that scatterometry is capable of measuring different space populations, and the developed
metrology solutions can be utilized to monitor and control each process step of SAQP
patterning.
"Collaborating with Nova has enabled us to develop a method to improve process control
in SAQP for the most advanced nodes," said An Steegen, senior vice president process
technology at imec. "Such collaboration is helping the entire semiconductor industry to
lower risks and shorten the time to market for the next generation technologies by
delivering innovative metrology solutions for the key process control challenges ahead."
"We are excited with the opportunity to collaborate with imec, join its Affiliation
Program and demonstrate the value of our optical CD for early R&D stages," said Dr. Shay
Wolfling, Nova's CTO. "We believe that the growing process challenges arising from the
advance technology nodes require close partnership between research centers, customers and
vendors and this is part of Nova's stated long-term strategy. Such collaboration with imec,
early in the development cycle, allows us to align our technology roadmap accordingly and
contribute to our customers' success."

Mobile-Disruptor Simgo Launches World's First eSIM
Simgo announces cloud-based v-SIM(TM) SDK available immediately for free integration
BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Mobile-disruptor startup, Simgo(®) today announced the availability of an SDK for it's award winning virtual eSIM cloud-platform (vSIM(TM)) for cellular devices. Simgo's v-SIM SDK, simgoinside(TM) is the world's first fully functioning e-SIM for smartphones, tablets, wearables, connected cars and the exponentially expanding universe of IoT. The simgoinside(TM) SDK is available for implementation by manufacturers and OEMs today at no cost to partners. A v-SIM implementation enables remote provisioning and automated, dynamic instant connectivity to any available mobile network based on user-defined rules such as QoS and cost, among others.
"We're glad the GSMA recognized the need for an e-SIM and implicitly validated Simgo's work in the space. Unfortunately, however, the specification does not go nearly far enough," said Eyal Shmueli, co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Simgo. "The e-SIM does much for subscription management, but nothing for device manufacturers or subscribers, who need connectivity management. e-SIM simply gets rid of the need to swap out a physical card, but it doesn't help any user, enterprise or otherwise, manage their connectivity based on real requirements like signal strength, or managing roaming, which are two major issues for connected cars for example."
"Our decision to make the v-SIM SDK available for integration for free reflects constant discussion within the industry to address the palpable frustration among enterprise IoT players that the industry is not keeping up with the momentous technological changes occurring in economy and culture," said Avi Ben Shlush, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Simgo. "We know an open source, cloud-based solution is aggressive but we want to help catalyze evolution for businesses and consumers alike."
In other news at Mobile World Congress, Simgo announced that industry veteran Masahiro Inoue is joining the Simgo board of directors. Founding CEO of Yahoo! Japan, Inoue was formerly the Director of Softbank who was instrumental Softbank's Vodaphone acquisition, taking it to the number 2 position behind NTT DoCoMo.
Simgo will be demonstrating its award-winning vSIM(TM) product range at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona February 22-25, in Hall 5, Stand 5D81 and in the Intel Booth at 4YFN To schedule a meeting, clickhere or go to https://simgo.typeform.com/to/mqDHuD

palm vein biometric technology - which is more accurate, faster, easier and more
hygienic than other biometric authentication scanners.
The new 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) tablet - which also converts instantly into a classic
clamshell notebook through the connection of a dockable keyboard - enables security
authentication with biometrics or SmartCard technology, also including support for
contactless SmartCard via NFC (near-field communication) technology. Furthermore, the
STYLISTIC Q736 features encrypted drives and Intel's TPM, which provides secured storage
for security keys and passwords, further protecting against unauthorized access to
sensitive data.
Fujitsu takes a no holds barred approach to providing outstandingly secure tablets. A
powerful combination of performance and security elements ensure that the Fujitsu
STYLISTIC Q736 is perfectly suited to vertical industries where it is equally important to
ensure that data already on the device is secured - for example, patient records in
healthcare, or bank account details in financial services - as well as ensuring only
secured access to the tablet itself.
The new STYLISTIC Q736 also ensures that users - once quickly and securely
authenticated - can access corporate data from anywhere, anytime. The tablet features
enterprise grade connectivity including 4G / LTE communications and built-in GPS.
Jörg Hartmann, Head of Category Management, EMEIA Product Business at Fujitsu says:
"Since human error is one of the most common security problems, we have taken a human
centric approach towards systematically eliminating any weak points. The new STYLISTIC
Q736 incorporates the very latest biometric and SmartCard security technologies that help
reduce the chance of simple, but potentially disastrous mistakes, such as someone leaving
their tablet unlocked in a public place."
The STYLISTIC Q736 features up to the latest, 6th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 vPro
(TM) processors, and a high-resolution 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) IPS full-HD anti-glare dual
digitizer touchscreen display (1920 cross 1080 pixels). This big-screen tablet can be
combined with options such as a keyboard docking station providing additional interfaces
and a second battery option, as well as an expansion cradle.
The STYLISTIC Q736 tablet weighs less than 1 kg, putting it among the lightest
terminals with an anti-glare, multi-touch display in this form factor. The embedded dual
digitizer also works with a digital pen. The STYLISTIC Q736 is available globally, from
March 2016. Pricing is according to region and specification.

Jide Technology Announces Remix OS for PC Beta Release at MWC 2016
BARCELONA, Spain, February 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Beta version to be made available on March 1st with OTA supportÂ
Jide Technology today announces the availability of Remix OS for PC Beta - the
productivity-oriented version of Android, following the hugely popular Alpha release in
January. The new Beta version has a substantial number of bug fixes and an increase in
device compatibility, as well as over-the-air (OTA) updates, 32-bit system support and
dual boot support through a new hard drive installer tool. The new release will be
publically available to download from the Jide website on March 1st.
Remix OS for PC allows users to freely download and install Remix OS, the best
experience of both mobile and PC, onto the majority of Intel/AMD-powered machines. For the
first time in Android, Remix OS brings PC productivity features such as multiple floating
windows, advanced file manager, and true mouse and keyboard support to the Android app
ecosystem. Remix OS allows users to run your Android apps and games such as Clash of Clans,
Microsoft Word, and Facebook with the added power of your MacBook or old Windows machine.
David Ko, Co-Founder of Jide Technology, explains: "Thanks to the support and feedback
from our generous community, we've been able to speed up the development of the Beta
version. Now with OTA software update support, users can begin to rely on Remix OS for
more daily activities without the worry of a new update wiping their data. This update
will help us to charge towards the eventual stable release later in 2016."
Following a clear demand, Jide has been working on providing compatibility for older,
32-bit computer systems, and is happy to announce it has been implemented with the release
of Remix OS for PC Beta. A vast number of computers that still run 32-bit processors can
now be given a new life with a lightweight Android-powered OS. This capability has
exciting prospects particularly in developing markets where consumers are unlikely to
regularly upgrade their hardware; Remix OS provides users a modern and versatile PC
desktop experience to as many people as possible.
As Jide has championed a brand new way of experiencing Android, Google Play Services
and the Play Store will not currently be pre-installed on Remix OS. This is while Google
takes the time they need to test the new operating environment. Users of the Beta version
will be able to sideload Google Play Services by following instructions found on the Jide
website.
Summary of change log from Alpha to Beta:
- Over 50 major bugs fixed
- UEFI support added
- 32-bit support added alongside 64-bit
- Hard drive installer for dual boot now available
- OTA update support
Natural Collaboration Â

Remix OS has opened up a whole new world to Android fans and users. This partnership is
long-term and both parties will work together to improve the Android on PC experience in
the years to come.
Founded in 2014, Jide Technology was started by three ex-Google engineers whose
mission is to build products that give people a seamless and affordable mobile
productivity experience in the mobile era of computing. Their successful launch of the
Remix Ultratablet gave them invaluable experience in the hardware space, allowing the
company to easily move laterally into the desktop PC space, which led to the launch of the
Remix Mini, the world's first Android PC. Jide's global headquarters is in Beijing, China.

Mobile Operators to Tap Into $1.3 Trillion Travel Ecosystem
BARCELONA, Spain, February 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Mobileum's Rovng Solution Generates High-margin Travel Revenue for Mobile Operators by
Leveraging Their Roaming Data to Tap Into a $1.3 Trillion Ecosystem of Travel Service
Providers Â
Mobileum, the leader in analytics solutions for telecoms, has launched its Rovng
[http://www.mobileum.com/mwc2016.php ] app at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This
smartphone app enables mobile operators to evolve beyond traditional roaming and become a
key enabler in the travel industry value chain. Rovng leverages Mobileum's widely deployed
roaming solutions base across the world by complementing it with analytics through the
life cycle of a traveler's journey to offer contextual content from an ecosystem of travel
service providers, thereby opening up new revenue opportunities.
According to ITB Academy, travel will grow at 7% in 2016, with over 1.13 billion
projected international travelers. However, this growth in travel is not reflected in a
proportionate increase in mobile roaming revenues. "Mobile Operators' share of the global
travel pie is only 2%. We are trying to change that by making the Mobile Operators a major
player in the travel ecosystem," says Avnish Chauhan, Mobileum CTO, and EVP Travel
vertical.
Mobileum's proprietary algorithms predict travel up to 40 days prior to departure with
over 40% recall accuracy, and can segment travelers based on predicted purpose of travel.
This creates an opportunity for the operator to be part of the booking flow earlier in the
travel cycle. The result: new revenue streams from digital advertising, premium placement,
bookings, and even upselling special roaming packs.
Smartphone is becoming a primary channel for travel bookings; with more than 30% of
online travel booking that will be made on mobile devices by 2017. "Rovng delivers a
personalized contextual experience and a one-stop-shop as an operator-branded travel app
for their subscribers, while generating additional revenue for the operator," Chauhan
continues.
Rovng can also power an existing mobile operator app with Travel Insights and
EcoSystem APIs by connecting it to Mobileum's cloud-enabled service.
Mobileum is demonstrating the Rovng solution at the Mobile World Congress from 22-25
February 2016.

Atmel Extends Security Leadership with Launch of First Platform for Enabling Hardware Cryptographic Acceleration and Secure Storage for TLS in IoT Applications
-- Available Now for OpenSSL and wolfSSL TLS Implementations to Provide Hardware Key Protection and Secure Execution Environments
-- Accelerates Core Cryptographic Processes Using Atmel's CryptoAuthentication(TM) Co-Processor in IoT Edge Nodes Applications
-- Pre-loaded with Unique Keys and Certificates to Reduce Complexities in Manufacturer Supply Chains
SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel® Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML), a leader in microcontroller (MCU) and touch technology solutions, today launched the industry's first hardware interface library for Transport Layer Security (TLS) stacks used in Internet of Things (IoT) edge node applications. Hardening is a method used for reducing security risks to a system by applying additional hardware security layers and eliminating vulnerable software. Atmel's new Hardware-TLS (HW-TLS) platform provides an API that allows TLS packages to utilize hardware key storage and cryptographic acceleration even in resource constrained edge node designs. HW-TLS is a comprehensive solution pre-loaded with unique keys and certificates designed to eliminate the complexities of generating secure keys in the manufacturing supply chain.
Complete Secure Solutions for OpenSSL and wolfSSL Implementations
OpenSSL is a general-purpose cryptography library that provides an open-source implementation of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and TLS protocols. wolfSSL is a cryptography library that provides lightweight, portable security solutions with a focus on speed and size. Atmel's new ATECC508A-OpenSSL and ATECC508A-wolfSSL are available for immediate download at their respective software distribution repositories, offering seamless adoption of more secure elements without disruption to the developer workflow.
Secure hardening for both OpenSSL and wolfSSL is made possible with HW-TLS which allows those TLS software packages to interface seamlessly with the Atmel ATECC508A CryptoAuthentication(TM) co-processor. The ATECC508A provides protected key storage as well as hardware acceleration of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) cipher suites including mutual authentication (ECDSA) and Diffie-Hellman key agreement (ECDH). As such, HW-TLS allows developers to substantially harden Transport Layer Security (TLS), enhancing security for IoT-device and cloud-service ecosystems.
When used together, HW-TLS and the ATECC508A allow even extremely small, low-cost IoT nodes to implement strong cryptographic security. All private keys, certificates and other sensitive security data used for authentication are stored in secure hardware and protected against software, hardware and back-door attacks. In addition, the integrated ECC accelerators in the ATECC508A offload cryptographic code and math from the MCU allowing even a low end processor to perform strong authentication.
"Everyone with an interest in IoT security should be excited about Atmel HW-TLS with wolfSSL," said Larry Stefonic, CEO, wolfSSL. "The combination of our secure software and Atmel's new chips brings TLS performance and security to a level unrivaled in the industry. Atmel's HW-TLS platform also makes it easier than ever for developers to incorporate truly hardened security into our TLS stack."
Accelerated Crypto Processes
With the rise of the IoT, security has become a pressing topic because autonomous remote devices are now routinely connecting to wireless networks to form complex smart-device and cloud-service ecosystems. As a result, autonomous smart IoT devices constitute a significant part of those networks and must be able to authenticate themselves to the network resources to maintain the integrity of the ecosystem. In addition, these remote, resource-constrained clients must be able to perform this authentication using minimal processing, memory and power.
Traditionally, TLS performed authentication and stored private keys in software. The Atmel Hardware-TLS platform closes the vulnerability gap in this arrangement by offloading the crucial key management responsibility to dedicated, tamper-resistant secure elements such as the ATECCC508A CryptoAuthentication device. In addition, the intensive crypto algorithms are processed in the CryptoAuthentication device, offloading the MCU on the remote devices and enabling the IoT edge node to authenticate to the cloud without a user-perceptible delay. Furthermore, Atmel Hardware-TLS comes as a complete platform pre-loaded with unique keys and certificates for eliminating the complexities of adding secure keys to each device in a manufacturing supply chain.
"With more and more remote devices being connected to the cloud every day in the era of the IoT, it becomes increasingly critical to ensure these devices are not vulnerable to attack," said Nicolas Schieli, Sr. Director, Secure Products Group, Atmel. "Such devices can be entirely secure only when they are hardware secure, meaning the 'secret' keys are stored in a separate hardware unit. We are excited to bring this innovation to market, enabling device manufacturers that need to connect to the cloud to take advantage of hardware security."
The Atmel Hardware-TLS platform complements Atmel Certified-ID, a seamless and secure keys provisioning platform for creating trusted Internet identities for smart connected devices.
Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML) is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of microcontrollers, capacitive touch solutions, advanced logic, mixed-signal, nonvolatile memory and radio frequency (RF) components. Leveraging one of the industry's broadest intellectual property (IP) technology portfolios, Atmel is able to provide the electronics industry with intelligent and connected solutions focused on the industrial, consumer, communications, computing and automotive markets.

Bihar's Mobile Health Initiative Gains Recognition the World Over
PATNA, India, February 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Born in Saharsa as Continuum of Care Services (CCS), CCS is a transformative
intervention that has already impacted the lives of thousands of women, men and children
in the state of Bihar. Simple yet effective, it leverages the use of mobile phones and
related technologies by the Frontline Health Workers (FLWs) to address current challenges
to improve the health of women and children in a resource-poor setting.
Conceptualized and implemented by CARE India, CCS was co-developed with Dimagi. Having
created an evidenced-based impact under the IFHI project, CSS was adopted, by the Ministry
of Women & Child Development, who developed upon the model, and now in its improved avatar
is known as the Common Application Software (CAS) being used to strengthen the Integrated
Child Development Services (ICDS) - another gift to the country from Bihar.
Through CCS, the unreached can be reached by registering pregnant women, mothers and
newborn; real-time healthcare information recorded to track appropriate and timely
services through the stages of pregnancy, delivery, and postnatal care; and FLWs provided
with decision support tools, such as counseling protocols, to improve the quality of
health services. It also provides FLWs with tools for scheduling, planning, and
coordinating home visits.
Based on the health and nutrition needs appropriate to the stages of pregnancy,
post-delivery and newborn care, CCS is an end-to-end mHealth solution, which includes a
suite of applications and multiple modules. It aids coordination and integration of
services across two key government departments that provide healthcare and
nutrition-related services to women and children.
Amidst the Prime Minister's 'Digital India' push, anganwadi centres across the country
are set to use IT-enabled services to improve their performance with Anganwadi Workers
(AWWs) and officials to be handed tablet devices and smartphones towards that end. Over
300,000 anganwadi centres in 162 districts identified as severely malnourished are set to
undergo a strengthening and nutrition improvement project to be launched by the MoWCD with
the help of World Bank.
Real-time monitoring of these centres will be done by strengthening them with
IT-enabled services. The project will enable the ministry to monitor daily levels of
nutrition and supplements being administered to the children. Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and
Sector Supervisors will be provided with smartphones and tablet devices to update data on
child nutrition on a daily basis.
Bihar's CCS, in its current advanced form, will be used by more developed states like
Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc. And, all this was possible,
because Bihar showed the way by embracing technology at the grassroots level. Unknown to
the country at large, Bihar's ICT-CCS intervention has been recognized in international
forums, having received the mHealth Alliance Collaboration Award at the Global mHealth
Summit at Washington DC, USA.
CCS has created a continuous and credible digital record of healthcare data, generated
at the village level, and made it available to managers and decision makers in real-time.
This helps them to not only monitor progress, but also to make informed program
implementation-related decisions and provide supportive supervision for increasing reach,
quality and timeliness of healthcare services.
CCS, by design, is integrated within the existing public system of health and
nutrition-related service delivery. Through training and direct hands-on support, FLWs
have found it simple-to-use and easy-to-operationalize. This is evident from high levels
of its acceptance by the FLWs and their supervisors.
Use of mobile phone technologies substantially reduces chances of error in recording
and transmitting healthcare-related data. Beginning at the village level, CCS enables
real-time data recording and availability in a digitized format. This helps to monitor the
services provided by FLWs as well as to design-effective healthcare interventions and
assist policymakers in long-term planning.
Mobile phones have enhanced the ability of FLWs to deliver quality healthcare services
in a systematic and integrated manner. Having the information and tools on their
'finger-tips' has dramatically improved the confidence and decision-making abilities of
FLWs, as also their social acceptance and status within their respective communities.
Some significant impacts of CCS on health behaviors viz., Antenatal Care, Newborn
Care, Child Nutrition, and use of Family Planning Services:
- 10% increase in mothers being visited at least two times during their antenatal
period by frontline workers
- 13% increase in home visits within a week of delivery to delivered mothers
- 21.1% increase in beneficiaries receiving at least 3 ANCs
- 6.3% increase in consumption of 90 IFA tablets by pregnant women
- 9.1% increase in pregnant women having phone numbers of local transport provider,
ambulance, nearest facility and ASHA /AWW
- 13.7% increase in mother breastfeeding with an hour after delivery
- 7.4% increase in mothers practicing skin-to-skin-care during postnatal care period
- 9.1% increase in children beginning eating solid food at six months of age
- 10.9% increase in mothers adopting modern methods of family planning immediately after
delivery
