Blowing Agent Technology with Low Global Warming Potential Provides Superior Insulation

BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) announced it has implemented the use of Honeywell's Solstice® Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA), into its environmentally responsible and energy efficient insulation used in U.S.-made refrigerators and freezers. The global warming potential (GWP) of the new foam blowing agent is 99.9%(i) lower than 245fa the most common foam blowing agent widely used within the U.S. industry, resulting in a more environmentally-responsible household refrigerator. The conversion of all U.S. manufacturing centers is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014 and the impact to the global warming effect will be the equivalent of removing more than 400,000 cars from the road(ii).

Next Generation Technology for Near Zero GWP Impact

Honeywell's Solstice® LBA has a GWP of 1, the same as carbon dioxide, and is non-ozone-depleting. The foam blowing agent has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is listed under the EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP). Most recently, Solstice® LBA was a key component in the roofing system applied to more than 500,000 square feet of roof at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. demonstrated at the Dassault Systemes' SOLIDWORKS World 2014 Conference. Cimatron's

"Productivity and Efficiency in Machining SOLIDWORKS Features," using GibbsCAM, a

The brief presentation will be delivered by Steve Aughinbaugh, GibbsCAM applications
engineer, from 6:30PM-6:45PM, Monday, January 27, 2014. Mr. Aughinbaugh will highlight
GibbsCAM's optimal integration between SOLIDWORKS and GibbsCAM, focusing on the greatest
simplification of 3D solids machining available for SOLIDWORKS. He will demonstrate how

New Touch Screen Controller Provides Full Monitoring Of Dust Collection Equipment

JONESBORO, Ark., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A new Touch Screen Controller from Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC) provides full monitoring and control of all functions of an industrial dust collector and associated equipment.  The easy-to-use controller is equipped with a touch screen interface that allows ready access to all of its functions.  It is designed for use with Farr Gold Series® dust collectors, or other types of collectors if integrated with a motor starter or variable frequency drive (VFD) package.

A built-in differential pressure sensor monitors the primary filter pressure drop. Four analog inputs can be used to monitor the secondary filter as well as other devices such as leak detectors, flow meters and compressed air pressure monitors. Six digital inputs are also included to monitor hopper level, smoke detection, remote cleaning and other functions. 

Four relay outputs are provided to signal faults from any of the digital or analog inputs or from internal device faults. The 4-20 milliamp output will remotely monitor air flow or pass through any analog input to a remote location. The controller can also monitor fan power consumption, and can provide data logging of system performance with multi-language capability.

CNIB Library introduces Direct to Player

TORONTO, Jan. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - The CNIB Library has introduced an easier
and faster way to get DAISY audiobooks called Direct to Player. As with all CNIB Library services, Direct to Player is free for all
users. This new way of downloading will allow users to get DAISY
audiobooks directly on their players without having to use a computer
or wait for a CD in the mail.

The Direct to Player service removes the need for users to order books
through the CNIB Library, which means less wait time between book
selection and book arrival. Direct to Player will even add books to a
user's virtual bookshelf for their reading pleasure, based on a number
of preferences such as author and genre. If the user then decides the
new book is not something they're interested in they can simply delete
it and it will be replaced with a different suggestion.

"I remember the transition from cassette tape talking books to DAISY CD
books in 2002 and I thought it was the best technology ever. Now,
Direct to Player is even better," says Gerry Chevalier, a CNIB Library
user from Edmonton. "Instead of waiting for a CD to come in the mail, I
just turn on my player each day and check the bookshelf button to see
what new book or magazine I have received."

A pilot program was completed in 2013 with 100 CNIB Library users from
across Canada of varying ages, both English and French speaking and
with a range of levels of computer skills. The results were positive.

"We are very excited to launch the Direct to Player DAISY audio book
service. DAISY users who have tried it say that it's a very convenient
way to receive books," says Rachel Breau, Partners Program Lead, CNIB
Library. "In addition to improving our service delivery options, the
Direct to Player model has the potential to positively impact the

Any registered CNIB Library user with an internet-enabled DAISY player
can use the Direct to Player service. Later this year an app will be
available to download for people who use iPads, iPods or Smartphones to
access their audiobooks. Users who do not currently own an internet or
Wi-Fi- enabled DAISY player can contact the vendor directly to inquire
about trade-ins. The vendors are Humanware or Aroga; the CNIB store does not offer trade-ins.

Today's pet industry is $100B USD globally, and is made up of over 1 billion domesticated cats and dogs. Feeding plays a central role in the health of a pet, however, most people don't have the information or time to properly manage their pet's diet - this leads to numerous health problems. HOUSTON, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass is testing the next generation of drive-thru banking at three of its Houston locations, where customers can summon remote tellers via devices with high-definition screens that double as full-service ATMs.

Together with the new high-tech, high-design branch prototype that the bank is deploying, the new service is helping BBVA Compass crystallize its vision for the future of the industry.

"Redefining the drive-thru experience is a change that was long overdue," said Alex Carriles, director of self-service channels for BBVA Compass. "At BBVA Compass, more than half of our branch transactions occur at the drive-thru, so we thought it was important to bring this channel into the digital age."?

Customers at the three locations can opt for full-service assistance from a teller; operate the units in self-service mode like an ATM; or select an assisted mode, where the tellers can guide them through their transactions.

The remote tellers, based in the bank's call center in San Antonio, are available during business hours and can be summoned at the touch of a button. The tellers also can identify customers as account-holders without the use of ATM or debit cards by verifying the customer's information.

Carriles said that during the pilot, customers are being asked to rate their experiences following each transaction. The feedback will help identify areas for improvement, he said, and early results are encouraging:

    --  When asked about their experiences, nearly 93 percent of customers said
        they "liked" or "loved" the service.
    --  Ninety-six percent of customers said they would use the unit again,
        while nearly 90 percent said they would recommend the service to a
        friend or family member.
