(SCEI) today announced that the PlayStation®4 (PS4(TM)) (CUH-1000A series) computer entertainment system will come in "Jet Black" color and will be available this holiday season in North America and Europe at a recommended retail price (RRP) of US$ 399, Canada$ 399, EUR 399, and £ 349.
The design of PS4 made its public debut at the PlayStation® press conference on June 10, 2013, which kicked off the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. PS4 will also be displayed this week at the Sony Computer Entertainment America booth at E3, one of the world's largest video game exhibitions.
The internal design architecture of the PS4 system, from the optical drive and power supply unit to the cooling mechanism, has been pursed to keep the body as slim and light as possible to dramatically enhance the flexibility of the design.
The PS4 features a simple but modern design accentuated by its linear flat form factors. The surface of the PS4 body is subdivided into four sections, as if four blocks are stacked together making one figure, with disc slot, buttons, power indicator and vent placed within the slim interspace created between the sections. The power indicator designed atop the body will glow in a PlayStation blue color when the power button is turned on. The foreside and backside of the body is slightly angled; it not only gives users easy access to the power button and disc slot when placed either horizontally or vertically but also helps conceal the connected cables. The black-themed color along with the matte and gloss finish adds a sophisticated look to the PS4 system as the next generation entertainment system and will fit perfectly wherever it is placed.
PS4 peripherals include the stand-alone Wireless Controller for PlayStation®4 (DUALSHOCK®4) and PlayStation®Camera, which will be available at launch for RRP of US$ 59, Canada$ 59, EUR 59 and £ 54, and US$ 59, Canada$ 59, EUR 49 and £ 44 respectively. Both accessories will come in "Jet Black" color.

need fixed places where they can connect and collaborate. The most
important attributes people want in these fixed spaces are: acoustical
privacy (56%), easy-to-use videoconferencing (47%), whiteboards (43%)

-- The smaller technology devices become, the more people need large-scale
displays to share and communicate effectively with others. In fact, 39
percent of workers say it is very important that collaboration spaces
allow them to share content from their mobile devices.
-- The more data organizations generate, the more people need places to
help them make sense of it. But 35 percent of people say they struggle
with visualizing data while working on tough problems.
Steelcase sees a shift toward three primary types of workplace technologies: smartphones, tablets and large-scale architectural displays. "Architecture and technology will become the same thing," notes Brett Kincaid, director of design for the V.I.A. architectural solution. "Technology-enabled architecture will be required to support smart rooms that create the optimal conditions for collaboration and innovation among teams that are globally distributed, as well as locally based." With this technology, utilities recruit homeowners to participate in programs to reduce their energy use when demand spikes, also known as automated demand response (ADR). For utilities, the Wi-Fi thermostat connects directly to smart grid technology developed by Honeywell's Akuacom business. (NYSE: RKUS) and Globalstar, Inc., (OTCBB: GSAT) today announced the successful results of new Wi-Fi testing that used a combination of unlicensed spectrum in the Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) band and Globalstar's licensed Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) spectrum. ISM radio bands, where most all public Wi-Fi traffic operates, are portions of the radio spectrum that have been reserved internationally for the use of radio frequency (RF) energy for purposes other than communications.
All tests were performed within the 2.4 GHz band, using carrier-grade Smart Wi-Fi equipment manufactured by Ruckus Wireless, and existing smartphones that were enabled to operate over the new channel via a remote firmware upgrade. This new testing provides compelling proof of how quickly and dramatically Terrestrial Low Power Service (TLPS) can expand the nation's wireless capacity to address the looming exhaustion of existing Wi-Fi spectrum.

TLPS is expected to be a licensed service that is readily compatible with existing 802.11-compliant Wi-Fi devices, offering data speeds and distances that are far superior to those currently existing on public Wi-Fi channels.
TLPS represents an opportunity for suppliers of carrier-grade access points capable of supporting channel 14 within the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency band to help eliminate the "critical problem" that former Chairman Genachowski identified. Testing Details
The Wi-Fi/TLPS testing, performed by Jarvinian, showed that combining Globalstar's unlicensed ISM bands with 802.11-compliant, adaptive antenna array technology from Ruckus results in a carrier-grade service that vastly exceeds the performance of conventional public Wi-Fi. According to Jarvinian, Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi technology helped to significantly increase Wi-Fi performance and signal range within the managed channel (14) while providing a better method of managing co-channel interference between access points.
