SafetyWeb Acquires Leading Internet Security Technology Firm Odojo
The premier Internet safety service for parents now integrates Odojo's sophisticated technology to provide families with the most comprehensive set of online protection tools to prevent threats like cyber bullying, Internet addiction and online predators Enhanced algorithms will look for risky behavior across both the web and mobile phones
DENVER, July 6 -- SafetyWeb (http://www.safetyweb.com), the leading Internet safety, identity and reputation protection service for parents, announced today the acquisition of online security technology firm Odojo. Odojo developed firebreak(TM) technology, allowing parents to monitor their children's social networks for inappropriate content and the Internet for leaks of children's personal information.
Launched in May 2010, SafetyWeb enables parents to continuously monitor their children's online social networking activity (e.g., Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Bebo, etc.) in real-time. Unlike programs that require computer installation, SafetyWeb runs on the Internet and can be accessed from anywhere, with almost any internet connected computer, device or mobile phone.
"Each family has a unique set of Internet safety concerns for their children, whether it is cyber bullying, exposure to predators, posting of sexually explicit photos and videos, and more," said Geoffrey Arone, co-founder and co-CEO of SafetyWeb.com. "SafetyWeb's integration of Odojo's proprietary technology gives parents, for the first time ever, the ability to customize how they monitor their children by scouring every social network by key word, theme and specific types of activity. No other service is as sophisticated, comprehensive, and easy-to-use."
The acquisition follows SafetyWeb's recent $8 million in funding announcement, positioning the online safety service to now accelerate the implementation of new product features, such as the development of additional algorithms to identify dangers by category, such as "drugs," "sex," "suicide," "anorexia," "hate," and more.
The integration of Odojo's tools into SafetyWeb's already robust protection service will arm parents with a deeper layer of analysis into both mobile phone activity and online posts by and about their children. It also gives parents the ability to customize the types of events they receive alerts about around specific terms and phrases such as "cyber bullying," "lewd activity," "drug use" and "harassment".
"With SafetyWeb already the market leader, we are thrilled to find a perfect fit for our technology into their platform. I am personally very excited to know that through SafetyWeb, parents will finally have a set of easy-to-use tools allowing them to protect and be a part of their children's digital lives," said Odojo founder, Mike Stemple, who now joins SafetyWeb as an advisor.
Mike draws from his successful history as an entrepreneur in mobile phone ventures like Skinit, to enhance SafetyWeb's coming mobile monitoring features providing parental alerts about who kids are talking to and texting.
The service will soon roll out new features such as the ability to incorporate data from cell phones, gaming consoles, criminal background checks and geo-location services, providing parents with a comprehensive dashboard that helps pinpoint concerning behavior. Since launch, over 2,000 affiliates are distributing SafetyWeb.
SafetyWeb is the only service that makes it easier to track public information about your children across all of the social networking sites. SafetyWeb provides parents with easy-to-read weekly reports on their child's online activity and 24-hour access to website services for $10/month for the first child. SafetyWeb is also available as an iPhone application. To learn more or to get started, visit SafetyWeb.com.

BORDEAUX, France, July 6, 2010-- Last 6 of May was a very special day for BEM's Community. 400 students
and staff of the Bordeaux Management School, dressed in red, were out in the
city streets to create a genuine human tidal wave. The filming of the Buzz
was a success and an astounding performance.
"The reason for this first time activity was not only to show how firmly
established BEM - Bordeaux Management School - is at local and international
levels, but also to do something really different and create an event that
would gather all members of the school", said Philip McLaughlin, Dean of BEM.
To the rhythm of "Banquet" by the band Bloc Party, this performance was
filmed, without rehearsal, in a single afternoon, finishing in front of
Bordeaux city hall, where the school's logo was created in human form. An
original format which changes from Lip dubs :-)
This project has required a year preparation bringing together students
and staff from all BEM's programmes.
The school has wanted to prove its very responsible attitude in preparing
the students for their future professional life, especially those involved in
designing and organising the project: obtaining permission from the
authorities, waiving the video image rights for each participant, purchasing
the broadcasting rights from the copyright holders for the music, obtaining
insurance policy for the filming, and producing in France the custom-made red
outfits.
Follow the reaction of the media, photos and other videos from this
performance on our Facebook group:
About BEM: Founded in 1874 by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, BEM proposes 12 degrees in management, from Bachelor to MBA
level, with specializations in wine, purchasing, supply chain management,
international business and responsible management. Member of the Conférence

LeCroy's New Positioner Tip for WaveLink Probes Provides Exceptional Bandwidth and Signal Fidelity
Ultra-Compact Form Factor Browser Ideal for Probing High Bandwidth Signals in Confined Areas
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y., July 6 -- LeCroy Corporation previously introduced the WaveLink® probe product lineup to 25 GHz for solder-in connections. Now this product line is being extended to include a 22 GHz positioner (browser) tip accessory.
LeCroy's WaveLink high bandwidth differential probes provide superior rise time, mid-band probe impedance, and noise performance. The new Dxx05-PT positioner tip provides performance up to 22 GHz with rise times of 19 ps (10-90%) when used with a LeCroy 25 GHz or higher bandwidth oscilloscope. In addition, the positioner tip and probe amplifier assembly provides superior probe impedance in the mid-band range -- 160 Ohms at 6 GHz, 450 Ohms at 13 GHz, 240 Ohms at 16 GHz, and 210 Ohms at 20 GHz. This combination of performance is essential for accurately characterizing next generation serial data signals, and comes closer in signal fidelity to cabled inputs than any other similar bandwidth oscilloscope probe.
The new Dxx05-PT positioner tip utilizes an advanced design and advanced materials to optimize browser signal fidelity and loading. The tip is constructed of carbon fiber composite pogo-pin tips that put distributed resistance at point of probe contact to minimize parasitic impedance. The conductive carbon fibers eliminate skin effect and provide a nearly constant resistance over frequency. This provides superior signal fidelity with the fastest rise times and lowest electrical noise. In addition, the positioner tip has an ultra-compact form factor that allows tight probe spacing and is ideal for probing high bandwidth signals in confined areas. It is easy to position multiple probes very close together using a variety of mechanical positioners. In addition, a hand-held wand is available for debugging.
The new Dxx05-PT positioner tip is sold as an accessory kit (part number Dxx05-PT-KIT) that is retrofittable to previously purchased LeCroy WaveLink High Bandwidth Differential Probes (Dxx05 Series) and Platform/Cable Assemblies. The kit includes a variety of mechanical positioning devices to interface with a provided XYZ positioner, and a set of spare carbon composite pogo-pin tips.
Superior Probe Noise and Rise Time Performance
The WaveLink high bandwidth probes incorporate an advanced differential traveling wave (distributed) amplifier architecture to achieve superior high frequency broadband performance. Traveling wave (distributed) amplifiers are commonly used in ultra high frequency broadband amplifiers. This multi-stage amplifier architecture maximizes gain per stage and minimizes probe attenuation (only 3.5X for 13-16 GHz probes, and 4.5X for 20-25 GHz probes), which permits very low probe noise (1.6 mVrms @ 13 GHz, 1.8 mVrms @ 16 GHz and 2.5 mVrms @ 20 GHz, and 2.8 mVrms @ 25 GHz). This amplifier also provides ample bandwidth to provide superior rise times when the probe is used with a WaveMaster 8 Zi Series oscilloscope of equivalent bandwidth. Therefore, the rise time specification of the probe and oscilloscope combination is the same as that of the oscilloscope itself, making it possible to use an oscilloscope probe for critical measurements without sacrificing the rise time (and hence bandwidth) performance of the oscilloscope. This is especially important when oscilloscope channels must be conserved for multiple differential signal measurements, such as with multi-lane protocols like PCI Express.
Industry Leading AC Probe Impedance Reduces Circuit Loading
The minimum AC loading (Zmin) of the new WaveLink probe at high frequency is far superior to competitive units at 13 to 20 GHz, and for those who need a 25 GHz solution now, only LeCroy is shipping an oscilloscope and probe combination that addresses that bandwidth.
When a probe is connected to a 50 Ohms transmission line in a circuit, some of the electrical signal in the circuit conducts through the probe and some remains within the transmission line. If the probe impedance is higher, then less of the electrical signal conducts through the probe and more remains in the circuit. Lower probe impedance has the opposite effect. Typically, manufacturers quote very high probe impedances at or very near DC, but high frequency signals have insignificant frequency content in this range. Engineers need to know the probe loading at very high frequencies (especially approaching the maximum probe frequency) which the probe is designed and rated to measure. In this area, the WaveLink high bandwidth differential probes shine with a mid-band probe impedance far higher than competitive products. This enables the WaveLink probe to provide high signal fidelity and accurately reproduce the electrical signal without also affecting the engineer's circuit and possibly affecting the measurement.
Highest Bandwidth Solder-In Lead
LeCroy's 25 GHz probe with a solder-in lead remains the industry's fastest solder-in solution. Solder-in lead connections are most commonly used by engineers and are widely valued for their high signal fidelity. LeCroy's 25 GHz solution surpasses the 16 or 20 GHz solutions offered by competitors.
Complete Probe Systems Now Also Available
For customers who desire both the solder-in and positioner tip solutions, LeCroy now provides "PS" probe systems with the widest possible array of connections at 13, 16, 20, or 25 GHz bandwidth. Each "PS" probe system includes the probe amplifier, a platform/cable assembly (and adapters, where necessary) for connecting to a LeCroy oscilloscope, and both solder-in and positioner tip solutions.

LeCroy Expands SAS/SATA Protocol Test Product Line with New Ultra-Portable Systems
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 6 -- LeCroy Corporation, a worldwide leader for serial data test solutions, today announced it has expanded its industry-leading line of 6 Gb/s capable SAS and SATA protocol verification products. The company introduced the STX M6-1, an ultra-portable single port platform available in either a protocol analyzer or error injector models.
Measuring just 6.25" wide, 1.38" high, 9.0" deep (15.9 x 3.5 x 22.9 mm) and weighing in at 1.7 lbs (.77 Kg), the STX M6-1 systems are incredibly compact units that fit easily into a corner of a brief case or backpack. Operating at 1.5, 3.0, or 6.0 Gb/s SAS or SATA data rates, and available with 2 or 4 GB of recording memory, STX M6-1 offers world-class protocol analysis or error injection capability at price points within reach of every budget.
STX M6-1 systems come standard with both USB and GbE interface ports for maximum flexibility in connecting to the host PC. The versatile GbE port can be used for either local or remote network connectivity. STX M6-1 systems can be linked together in cascade configurations to provide additional recording channel capacity, or used in tandem to combine simultaneous error injection and trace capture/analysis capabilities (requires multiple STX M6-1 units, at least one licensed as a protocol analyzer and at least one as an error injector).
STX M6-1 models are software compatible with the LeCroy SAS/SATA Protocol Suite and offer the same features as the other products in the LeCroy SAS/SATA product line. The analyzer software offers an intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface) combining easy setup with flexible traffic analysis views including spreadsheet, text, column, waveform and packet views. The protocol application layer can be analyzed with the packet view, which logically assembles frames and primitives that are part of specific SAS or SATA commands. Utilizing the packet view, one can quickly see the completion status of any command, which is especially useful in addressing system-level debug challenges. Statistical reports provide event and error counts, as well as performance metrics, that give users a snapshot into captured traces and rapid access to items of interest.
The STX M6-1 data capture capabilities include Easy Mode triggering to provide engineers with the ability to capture precise traffic conditions such as timing between events or changes in link state. Using Easy Mode, powerful trigger conditions can be set up quickly and easily through very straightforward, easily understood drop-down menu selections.
The STX M6-1 InFusion model performs as a stand-alone 1.5, 3, 6 Gb/s version of the LeCroy InFusion Error Injector and Traffic Modifier, enabling engineers to verify error recovery characteristics of their designs. An easy-to-use pop-up menu interface allows the creation of customized test scenarios in just minutes. One can program on-the-fly modifications to any field within any frame, as the data moves across the link. Any primitive or data pattern can be intercepted and changed to a different user specified pattern. Examples include support for changing DWORD values, disconnecting links, and forcing various conditions such as a CRC error or running disparity errors. This enables unprecedented corner case modification of SAS and SATA traffic which is especially useful during the final test and integration cycles.
STX M6-1 products will begin shipping this calendar quarter (CQ3-2010). Engineers and technicians who would like to know more can contact LeCroy at 1-800-5LeCroy (1-800-553-2769) or visit http://www.lecroy.com/pr/STXM6-1/ .

In particular, the SonicWALL Board continues to recommend that SonicWALL shareholders vote "FOR" the proposal to approve the principal terms of such merger agreement, the Merger, and the related merger filing at the July 23, 2010 Special Meeting of the SonicWALL Shareholders. SonicWALL shareholders of record as of June 21, 2010 are entitled to vote at the Special Meeting. The Merger represents a premium of approximately 28% over the Company's closing price on June 2, 2010, the last trading day prior to announcement of the Merger, and a premium of approximately 63% over the Company's enterprise value as of that date.
The Merger contemplated by the merger agreement is scheduled to close in the Company's fiscal quarter ending September 30, 2010, subject to approval of SonicWALL's shareholders and customary closing conditions. The transaction is not subject to a financing condition.

Nasuni Releases White Paper on Cloud Storage Security
Free report quells concerns, provides in-depth understanding of protecting business-critical data through encryption
NATICK, Mass., July 6 -- Nasuni(TM), creator of the industry's first gateway to the cloud for primary storage, today announced the availability of a free white paper, Understanding Security in Cloud Storage, which addresses the top security concerns in the cloud and offers information on how businesses can take advantage of cloud storage without compromising security.
The white paper explores security in the context of different types of cloud offerings available: software as a service, cloud computing and cloud storage. Data encryption at rest is singled out as a unique feature of cloud storage, which enables a superior security model. The OpenPGP security standard is discussed at length in the context of data encryption.
"Many businesses that can benefit from the opportunity to significantly reduce costs while providing reliable, on-demand storage are holding back from implementing cloud storage because of concerns about the security of their data," said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni. "While no environment is completely secure, cloud storage does not inherently increase security risks to businesses. Much of the fear stems from a basic lack of understanding about cloud security options and a natural reaction by people regarding new technology. Our white paper seeks to alleviate the fears and a clear understanding by identifying the risks of cloud storage and illuminating the security models that can be used to mitigate them."
Nasuni makes the Nasuni Filer - a virtual NAS that offers secure connections to major cloud storage providers. At the heart of Nasuni's security model is OpenPGP with the AES-256 cryptographic standard, approved by the U.S. National Security Agency, to compress and encrypt each file. Customer files stored in the cloud via the Nasuni Filer remain completely secure. Unlike data loss, where the cloud storage provider may simply lose data due to hardware, connectivity or other failure, data encryption at the customer site protects files from malicious attack. This renders files unreadable while in transit and off-premises. Files are sent over a secure channel and remain encrypted in the cloud, and the customer retains sole control of the decryption keys.
Nasuni delivers the leading cloud storage gateway that makes storage as a service into a practical business solution. The Nasuni Filer is a virtual NAS file server that runs on VMware and leverages the resources of the cloud to simplify file storage and protection. Targeting the mid-market, Nasuni's solution eliminates the need for incremental storage hardware, and the resulting capital expense to manage unstructured file growth. The company is backed by North Bridge Venture Partners and Sigma Partners. To download the Nasuni Filer, or for more information, visit http://www.nasuni.com.

National Semiconductor Introduces Industry's First 20V Synchronous Buck Controller to Integrate Key Four Features
PowerWise Controller Drives All Intermediate Bus Architecture Point-of-Load Applications
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 6 -- National Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:NSM) today announced a new synchronous voltage-mode buck controller that drives a variety of high-current point-of-load applications in printers, telecom, networking and embedded computing applications.
A new addition to National's PowerWise® energy-efficient product family, the LM27402's advanced features make it the industry's most feature-rich 20V synchronous buck controller. Until today, point-of-load controllers have incorporated one or two complex features, such as a wide input voltage range, integrated high-current gate drivers with adaptive dead-time, inductor DCR current sensing or on-chip bias supply sub-regulator. National's LM27402, however, is the first universal point-of-load controller to integrate all these advanced features into a single chip - key features required for many types of DC-DC applications.
Technical Features of National's LM27402 Synchronous Buck Controller
A wide input voltage range of 3V to 20V allows the LM27402 to interface with all intermediate bus voltages, including 3.3V, 5.0V and 12V rails. Integrated inductor DC resistance current sense eliminates the need for resistive power train elements to detect output current. This increases overall power conversion efficiency and allows accurate continuous current limit sensing. The current sense threshold level is programmable to accommodate a wide range of load current levels using the smallest inductor possible.
Output voltage is adjustable down to 0.6V with a one percent voltage reference providing output voltage set-point accuracy over the full -40 degrees C to 125 degrees C operating temperature range. An integrated bias supply sub-regulator eliminates the external bias voltage supply to simplify PC board layout. Integrated, high-current MOSFET gate drivers with adaptive dead-time control enable ultra-efficient power conversion with load currents as high as 30A. It also supports programmable soft-start, tracking and pre-biased startup.
Offered in 16-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP and 4 mm by 4 mm LLP packages, the LM27402 is available for design on National's WEBENCH® Power Designer at http://www.national.com/analog/webench.
Available now, National's LM27402 is priced at $1.68 in 1,000-unit quantities. More information about National's power management products is available at http://www.national.com/analog/power.

Sony Elevates the Standard for 3D Home Theater With New ES AV Receivers and Blu-ray 3D Player
Company Supports Specialty AV Channel With Focused Distribution Strategy
SAN DIEGO, July 6 -- Driving the innovation of 3D, Sony today took another step to strengthen its industry leading 3D home product line with new Elevated Standard (ES) AV receivers including the STR-DA5600ES, STRA-DA4600ES, and STR-DA3600ES and a Blu-ray 3D(TM) player, the BDP-S1700ES.
In addition to Sony's latest 3D capable BRAVIA® HDTVs, the new ES components represent the best audio and video quality Sony has to offer. Designed with custom installers in mind, ES models integrate seamlessly with multi-room, third-party control systems.
"By focusing on seamless integration with custom home theater control partners, Sony is working to deliver products that support the custom and specialty retail business like no other manufacturer," said Brian Siegel, vice president of Sony's home audio and video business. "Because Sony is involved in every stage of the 3D ecosystem, specialty dealers and installers can rest assured that our AV components leverage that deep expertise to deliver the most technically advanced experience possible."
Focusing on the needs of custom home theater installers, Sony's ES line represents an enthusiast-level AV experience featuring some of the company's most advanced technology. The value of the products is best demonstrated by dealers and integrators qualified to engage an advanced consumer audience. To that end, the company is focusing its distribution strategy to include only specialty AV retailers and custom installers. ES products will no longer be offered for sale online or through telesales.
AV Receivers with Custom Control
Sony's 2010 ES AV receivers feature IR input jacks and two-way serial control. They also offer control over IP which allows installers to easily integrate the receivers into the leading home automation systems including Control4®, Crestron, AMX®, Savant, Ultimate Remote Control, RTI, and others. Sony has worked closely with leading control companies and is a Control4 Certified Partner, an AMX Device Discovery Partner, Crestron Integration Partner, and a Savant Excellence in Audio and Video Partner.
The new models offer 3D pass-through and flexible multi-room features. They can connect to a home broadband network through an Ethernet port offering easy access to digital photos, music and videos from Digital Life Network Alliance (DLNA®) sources. They also function as an Ethernet hub featuring four ports that connect other network devices.
Additionally, the Ethernet connection provides access to both Shoutcast® Internet Radio and Rhapsody® Music Service, and offers easy access to firmware upgrades via the Internet. The STR-DA5600ES model also functions as a DLNA Live Audio Server that can stream music to other DLNA clients.
Users with an iPhone® or iPod® touch device can control the models using a free app that transforms your mobile device into a full ES receiver remote. The app features zone control, full GUI menu, and Sony's Quick Click remote function which allows users to control source components (such as Blu-Ray player, set-top box) in the main home theater room to be controlled from a second zone.
The STR-DA5600ES and the STR-DA4600ES offer the ability to distribute audio and video to multiple rooms via the second HDMI output and video to a second zone via CAT5 output. They can both also up-scale all sources to 1080p in the main zone and 1080i in a second zone via the Faroudja chip® ensuring a consistent, sharp picture. The connected video zones feature a high-grade, icon-driven menu system that allows for simple device and content navigation.
All three models feature Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (DCAC) with Automatic Phase Matching (APM). Without changing the front reference speakers, APM corrects for phase differentiation between front, center, and surround speakers, ensuring an ideal sound stage regardless of speaker type. The STR-DA5600ES also offers DCAC EX which includes speaker relocation, not only adjusting for the distance but also the angle of the listening position to create an optimal listening environment.
The receivers also feature Sony's innovative new HD Digital Cinema Sound® that was developed together with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Incorporating high-mounted front speaker placement, HD DCS was designed to transform and replicate both the sound quality and acoustics of a movie theater in the home environment creating an unmatched home theater experience.
All of the models support 1080/24p video signals and x.v.Color(TM) and Deep Color(TM) video codecs, as well as all advanced audio formats (Dolby® Digital Plus, Dolby® TrueHD, dts® Master HD, dts® ES, Dolby® Digital EX, Dolby® Pro Logic IIx and 8 channel Linear PCM). They also feature audio return channel allowing network content originating from the television to be played through the receiver without additional cables.
The models feature Sony's Digital Media Port(TM) for simple connection to an iPod and other digital music players, and are both XM® and Sirius® ready.
The 7.1 channel network multi-room STR-DA5600ES AV receiver features a 130-watt power amplifier x7 (8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, .09 percent THD) With six HDMI 1.4 inputs (five rear, one front) and two switched or simultaneous HDMI outputs, the model will be available this September for about $2,000.

Mobile business intelligence is a logical extension of traditional business intelligence, but requires even higher performance and the ability to serve even larger user populations. MicroStrategy's architecture is engineered to provide the speed and scalability to support the escalating demands of mobile BI applications.
Deploy Mobile BI Applications Quickly
With MicroStrategy Mobile, existing MicroStrategy projects can be extended to the iPhone, iPad, and BlackBerry, typically within several days. MicroStrategy Mobile applications are assembled in a point-and-click fashion and do not require any coding. App creators can choose from an array of finely-designed, iPhone and iPad-optimized displays and controls.
MicroStrategy Mobile includes the infrastructure needed to support each new mobile app, so application developers only need to focus on creating the user experience and not on the back-end infrastructure. MicroStrategy's metadata-driven design approach enables rapid, point-and-click portability of reports between platforms, including iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Windows.
Enhanced Business Intelligence User Experience
The latest release of MicroStrategy Mobile takes full advantage of the native capabilities of the iPhone and iPad to deliver an enhanced business intelligence experience to users. By leveraging the user-friendly features of the iPhone and iPad, MicroStrategy Mobile provides intuitive business intelligence that is optimized for the mobile user.
Integrated Mapping: MicroStrategy Mobile offers out-of-the-box integration with Google maps for easy visualization of geospatial data and rapid location identification.
Multi-touch: MicroStrategy Mobile leverages the new Apple multi-touch gestures, such as swipe, tap, flick, and rotate, to ease data navigation for users.
BI-specific Gestures: MicroStrategy Mobile includes specialized data gestures such as drilling and paging that extend native iPhone functionality to enhance data exploration.
App Integration: App functionality can be extended by directly integrating with other on-device apps, including e-mail, browser, and text messaging; third-party apps such as social networks or payment solutions; and existing enterprise systems or data sources.
Sensor-based Query: MicroStrategy Mobile is integrated with on-device sensors, such as the GPS receiver, accelerometer, and bar code reader, to accelerate query speed and relevance. For example, since the device already knows the user's location, there is no need to manually enter the address.
Mobile Information Capture: Users can quickly capture information with on-device sensors, such as a camera or bar code reader, reducing the need for manual data entry.
Built for Enterprise Deployments
MicroStrategy Mobile inherits the core strengths of the MicroStrategy 9 platform to provide an enterprise-grade foundation for mobile applications.
High Performance: MicroStrategy Mobile is designed to provide the high performance expected on mobile devices. Specifically, MicroStrategy Mobile uses multi-level caching, an in-memory data structure, and a high efficiency network interchange to provide the high performance required to make mobile business intelligence apps most useful. In addition, the code that resides on the iPhone and iPad is written in pure Objective-C to provide fast execution performance and natural graphical animations.
Comprehensive Security: Security is one of the highest concerns of enterprises using mobile devices. MicroStrategy Mobile is designed to ensure the privacy and security of data, even when the devices leave the four walls of the enterprise. Device data wiping automatically wipes all of the BI application's data stored on the device every time the app is closed or the device is locked or powered off. Transmission encryption ensures that data in flight is fully protected from eavesdropping, and data encryption ensures that the data resident on the server can be encrypted to prevent penetration attacks for mobile BI apps.
High Scale Operation: MicroStrategy Mobile is designed specifically for high efficiency operation in environments of tens of thousands of users. MicroStrategy's powerful administrative tools make it easy for a small number of IT administrators to manage dozens of BI apps and many thousands of users from a central admin console. MicroStrategy's high performance architecture can support large user populations with just a few server CPUs.

Auto Insurer Launches Platform for Customers and Shoppers
SAN FRANCISCO, July 6 -- Esurance, the direct-to-consumer auto insurance company, recently unveiled an enhanced iPhone application for both its customers and car insurance shoppers. Available free in Apple's App Store, the Esurance mobile app has several unique features and enables customers to manage their policy with even greater ease. It's also one of the first iPhone apps to provide car insurance quote estimates. Esurance customers can already use the online repair monitoring feature on all other mobile devices, and now this convenient feature is extended to an iPhone app.
"As the mobile market continues to evolve, consumers are seeking innovative ways to shop for and manage their auto insurance needs," said John Swigart, Esurance's Chief Marketing Officer. "With the Esurance app, iPhone users are able to get a quote, pay their bill, report a claim, find a nearby repair shop, and view daily photos of the repairs, right from their iPhone. The ability to monitor the progress of their vehicle in the repair shop through daily photos and emails is appreciated by our customers and sets us apart from our competitors."
Shopping for Car Insurance
For anyone shopping for car insurance, the Esurance mobile app offers online quote functionality in an iPhone app. Shoppers can receive a quote estimate in approximately two minutes. The iPhone app saves the quote, allowing the customer to purchase over the phone. Esurance Chief Information Officer Phil Swift said, "We take pride in our ability to make shopping for car insurance easier. And with so many people migrating to smart phones, tailoring our quoting functionality to the iPhone is a benefit to consumers and demonstrates our commitment to technology innovation."
Shoppers can also access the accident toolkit, which is packed with helpful information on what to do if they're ever in an accident and steps to take to be prepared for one, just in case.
Managing an Esurance Policy
Packed with customer-focused features, the Esurance iPhone app makes policy management easier. Customers can access ID cards, view their coverage, and make payments. But the app really shines when a claim situation arises. Esurance Mobile can find preferred repair shops in the customer's neighborhood, using Google maps, and allows customers to report some claims entirely through their iPhone.
The Esurance car insurance app also provides a one-of-a-kind repair monitoring feature. Customers with a car in the shop are able to see daily photos of their repairs throughout the process. These photos can be shared instantly, and customers can contact the repair facility directly via email or phone with any questions. They'll also be able to contact their dedicated claims rep right from the app.
Swigart continued, "The Esurance iPhone app represents our commitment to providing our customers with the best of both worlds -- people and technology." Now you can manage your policy and see your car repairs in progress 24/7, wherever you are."

Renesas Electronics to Acquire Nokia's Wireless Modem Business; Companies to Form Strategic Business Alliance for Modem Technology Development
ESPOO, Finland and TOKYO, July 6, 2010-- Renesas Electronics Corporation, a premier supplier of advanced
semiconductor solutions, and Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK), the world leader
in mobile communications, today announced that they are deepening their
collaboration by forming a strategic business alliance to develop modem
technologies for HSPA+/LTE (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access / Long-Term
Evolution) and its evolution.
As part of this alliance, the companies have entered into an agreement
whereby Renesas Electronics is to acquire Nokia's wireless modem business for
approximately USD 200 million. The alliance is planned to be enhanced by
long-term joint research cooperation on future radio technologies.
The planned transfer of Nokia's wireless modem business enables Renesas
Electronics to maximize the value of Nokia's technology assets and
engineering expertise in delivering advanced mobile platform solutions to the
market by combining them with Renesas Electronics' market-proven multimedia
processing and RF technologies. Together with Renesas Electronics' robust
line-up of application processors, RF transceiver ICs, high power amplifiers,
and power management devices, the wireless modem technologies enable Renesas
Electronics to deliver a complete mobile platform solution to the market.
The wireless modem business to be transferred to Renesas Electronics
includes Nokia's wireless modem technologies for LTE, HSPA and GSM standards,
which have been used for billions of handsets in the global market over the
years. Further, Nokia transfers Renesas Electronics certain patents related
to the transferred technology asset. The planned transfer would also include
approximately 1,100 Nokia R&D professionals, the vast majority of whom are
located in Finland, India, the UK and Denmark.
The planned transfer is expected to further strengthen Renesas
Electronics' position as one of the leading chipset vendors in the 3G and LTE
market that is capable of providing one-stop mobile platform solutions,
supporting an extensive range of modem protocols from GSM to LTE, and
integrating advanced multimedia and computer processing capabilities.
"The agreement with Nokia demonstrates our long-standing commitment to
shape the future of advanced mobile platforms and will serve as an important
step for us to become a leading mobile platform vendor in the global market.
Our collaboration with Nokia will enable consumers to enjoy true mobile cloud
computing experiences through our advanced high-speed mobile devices," said
Yasushi Akao, President of Renesas Electronics Corporation. "In line with our
ongoing efforts to strengthen our business structure, the transferring
wireless modem technology and the innovation power and expertise of Nokia's
employees will perfectly complement our core competences and serve as the key
driving forces in growing our mobile business in the global market."
"Wireless modems are an integral part of today's chipset solutions, and
we believe that Renesas Electronics, as one of the key chipset vendors in the
market, is in an ideal position to further develop this offering. The
alliance enables us to continue to focus on our own core businesses,
connecting people to what matters to them with our mobile products and
solutions," says Kai Oistamo, Executive Vice President, Nokia.
Renesas Electronics has licensed the Nokia modem since 2009 and the two
companies have been working together to develop an industry-leading HSPA+/LTE
platform. "I believe that the integration of the world class Nokia wireless
modem into Renesas Electronics' strong multimedia processing and RF
capabilities, places Renesas Electronics in a strong position in HSPA+/LTE
chipsets," says Oistamo.
In order to implement the planned business transfer, Nokia will start the
appropriate personnel consultation process with its personnel representatives
according to each applicable jurisdiction's labor law requirements. The
transfer is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing
conditions, and is estimated to take place during the fourth quarter 2010.

Netflix and Relativity Media Announce Groundbreaking Deal to Stream First Run, Studio Quality Theatrical Movies to Netflix Subscribers
Agreement Marks Big Shift in Film Distribution - First Time Content is Made Available for Subscription Streaming, Bypassing 'Pay TV'
LOS ANGELES, July 6 -- Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Relativity Media, LLC today announced a long term agreement through which major theatrically released films owned by Relativity will be licensed directly and exclusively to Netflix for streaming to its subscribers during the "pay TV window." Traditionally, these films have flowed through Relativity's studio releasing partners to output deals with premium TV channels.
The deal marks a continued shift in the distribution of major motion pictures in the U.S. Under the agreement, an increasing amount of popular contemporary movies previously encumbered by pay TV agreements with premium channels such as HBO, Showtime and Starz will become available to be streamed from Netflix months - and not years - after their release on DVD. It will be the first time that studio quality theatrical feature films will be streamed via subscription by Netflix instead of being broadcast by the traditional pay providers, and it opens up a new revenue stream for such movies.
Among the first wave of films covered under the Netflix-Relativity deal are "The Fighter," starring Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams and distributed by Paramount Pictures, and "Skyline," co-directed by the Brothers Strause and released by Rogue Pictures and Universal Studios. Both films are scheduled for theatrical release later this year and to be available at Netflix in early 2011. Also on tap for Netflix are Rogue Pictures' Nicolas Cage action/thriller "Season of the Witch" and "Movie 43," written and directed by Peter Farley. Both are set to hit theaters this year as well.
Relativity has financed, co-financed or produced more than 200 features, generating more than $13 billion in worldwide box office revenue. Fifty Relativity films have become "Top 10" box office releases during the past two years. Current Relativity theatrical releases include "Robin Hood," "Get Him to the Greek" and "Grown Ups." Relativity produces and/or finances between 20 and 30 pictures a year, and it has more than 10 "single picture" movies - films it is financing and producing fully - that are scheduled to be released over the next 12 months.
Broadening the range and appeal of content available for Netflix members to watch instantly is among the company's top priorities, and the agreement with Relativity is a meaningful step in building the company's streaming offer.
"Our continued goal is to expand the breadth and timeliness of films and TV shows available to stream on Netflix," said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix. "Historically, the rights to distribute these films are pre-sold to pay TV for as long as nine years after their theatrical release. Through our partnership with Relativity, these films will start to become available to our members just months after their DVD release."
Added Mr. Sarandos: "Relativity has produced and financed some of the biggest and best films released in the last few years. We are thrilled to partner with them on their exciting upcoming slate of films and to be part of each other's ongoing success."
"We have always been about finding new ways to grow and monetize our business," said Ryan Kavanaugh, Relativity's CEO. "This clearly is a natural step in the evolution of the movie business and opens up a whole new world of revenue and marketing opportunities. Netflix has certainly made its mark, with a service that reaches over 13 million people and allows consumers to have what they want, when they want it. We have a shared vision, and this deal marks a significant change in our industry."
"Consumer demand and interest in new platforms are evolving nearly as quickly as the technology," said Michael J. Joe, Relativity's president. "The growing number of Netflix subscribers streaming first run movies is very exciting and presents another viable option for us to maximize the long-term business behind our properties. We're delighted to partner with them on this incredible new opportunity, which has great promise for our industry-reshaping Pay TV deals going forward."
The deal was negotiated on Relativity's behalf by Mr. Joe and Andrew Marcus, the company's chief operating officer, and on behalf of Netflix by Robert Kyncl, the company's vice president of content acquisition.
