YouTube's actions in response to a subpoena it received in May show that it has been keeping tabs on users who post copyrighted material to its site -- and in one case shared the name of a user with lawyers from a Hollywood film studio. On May 24, lawyers for Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures convinced a federal judge in San Francisco to issue a subpoena requiring YouTube to turn over details about a user who uploaded dialog from the movie studio's "Twin Towers," according to a copy of the document.

While we are still working out exactly how to distribute the final Player version to be as easy as possible for the typical end user, this beta includes 2 gzip'd tarball packages: one is for the Mozilla plugin and the other is for a GTK-based Standalone Flash Player. Either will need to be downloaded manually via the Adobe Labs website and unpacked. The standalone Player (gflashplayer) can be run in place (after you set its executable permission). The plugin is dropped into your local plugin directory (for a local user) or the system-wide plugin directory.

Hello, my name is Kellie, I am a Lead Program Manager on the IE Team. First and foremost, the IE team would like to thank everyone in the community who contributed feedback to the IE7 release. You guys rock! This release was the first time we used the Microsoft Connect site to collect feedback for the public beta. We learned a lot of lessons from this feedback program, and we intend to make it better next time around. We received an overwhelming response from you and your efforts provided great ideas and drove important bug fixes. IE7 is now live, but this is not the end… The IE team is looking forward to the next version, and we are dedicated to listening to your ideas in the next beta release. We appreciate your support!

Nearly 14% of respondents said they found it difficult to stay away from the internet for several days and 12% admitted that they often remain online longer than expected. More than 8% of those surveyed said they hid internet use from family, friends and employers, and the same percentage confessed to going online to flee from real-world problems. Approximately 6% also said their personal relationships had suffered as a result of excessive internet usage. "Potential markers of problematic internet use are present in a sizeable portion of the population," the researchers note.

The MB559UEA-1S we have received functions very similar to the MB452MK that was reviewed. Rather than saying that it's a brand new product, I think this enclosure is more like an update to the existing one. There are few changes that ICY Dock has done to the new enclosure. The new MB559UEA-1S uses native SATA connector instead of the converter that was used in the older enclosure. Also, the new enclosure has been significantly slimmed down and has much better design than the previous product. It is also much stylish than previous one.

Normally when we think mini or micro ATX cases we think of small for factor (SFF) type cases. My opinion is somewhat biased because I am an overclocker, first and foremost. The Foxconn 975X7AB-8EKRS2H is not an overclocker's motherboard... right now. I hinted at it in a couple of sections, with some BIOS work, this motherboard might take off. Currently, however, this motherboard should only be thought of as an excellent Intel 975X chipset offering if you're not into overclocking.

When you open the box, a big slip of paper falls out first, preceeding any discs or manuals. The slip of paper says, essentially, that 2142 includes monitoring software which runs while your computer is online, and records "anonymous" information like your IP address, surfing habits (probably via cookie scans), and other "computing habits" in order to report this information back to ad companies and ad servers, which generates in-game ads.
Now, I can live with certain in-game ads (though apparently there will be Dodge truck and Neon ads in the bleak, futuristic world of 2142), but including a lengthy description - outside of even the Eula - seems to indicate even EA knows that this is some shady borderline spyware shit. I don't support it and won't be buying 2142 (for a host of other reasons, too).

Each well contains between 14 and 18 DNA logic gates. After a human player makes their move, MAYA-II responds through a DNA reaction. The strand outputted feeds into a series of other DNA logic gates that link the different wells. This results in a chemical reaction that generates a green fluorescent glow in the square MAYA-II selects as its next move. The strand also interacts with the remaining wells, priming them to respond appropriately to future moves. "MAYA-II moves bio-computation up to the next level of power," says Joanne Macdonald, a researcher at Columbia University, who helped build the system. "It's similar to the invention of the first microchips with hundreds of logic gates."

The USB Implementers Forum, the 1394 Trade Association and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) have chosen the WiMedia Alliance's version of UWB technology as the foundation for their next-generation networking technology. UWB technology can deliver data rates at up to 480 megabits per second at around 3 meters, with speeds dropping off as the range grows to a limit of about 10 meters. Real-world speeds will probably be a little slower, but this is as fast as the wired version of USB 2.0 and much faster than current Wi-Fi networks are capable of transmitting data.

In GTL, natural gas is converted to a relatively clean form of fuel for diesel cars. The process is similar to the one for converting coal to diesel fuel, but cars running on GTL emit far fewer particulates. Humans, in fact, can drink GTL fuel: You might get sick, but you won't die, one Shell executive said last year. Today Legit Reviews looks at the Tempest with the E6300 processor run at 1.86GHz and 2.80GHz to see how the tempest does at stock settings and when overclocked nearly 1GHz on the core. The Tempest is tested against Aerocool Xfire and the Intel retail box heat sink fan for this review.

The Abit EQ is a nice touch for those who track system health constantly as well as allowing the user to manage the system within Windows quite easily with the included software. Add to this, every LGA775 CPU up to the X6800 Extreme is currently supported, giving the buyer a wide range for CPU choices. The storage connections are plenty and we doubt anyone will have a problem of running out of places to plug in their hard drives.

Well so much for explanation and speculation! Please join me as we attempt to discern with a high degree of objectivity how well OCZ has meshed NVIDIA's EPP profile into their Platinum 7200 EPP modules. I assure you we'll leave no table unturned and after reading this review you should be able to readily determine: 1) If this technology fits your needs and the needs of future patrons of our art; 2) If you're ready to invest your hard earned $$$ in these memory modules; and 3) If you feel this technology is worthy of being included as one of the many JEDEC standards.

The Hyper Kolor Series (patent pending) Etchings! What is Hyper Kolor? Hyper Kolor is a top secret process that was carefully developed in the last few months here at HyperKore, that allows us to introduce COLORS into the Blackout process. Much like the Blackout v.2 etchings, Hyper Kolor etchings allow NO light to pass thought the window so there is no need for cathodes or LEDs. Link: http://www.fastlanehw.com/reviews.php?i=171

Describing any review involving PC Power & Cooling products is more difficult then one might think. How do you describe a company to which so many accolades have already been attributed? Today we have the honor of testing the Turbo-Cool 1000W (1kW) PSU

Before the Motherboard makers had their Core 2 Duo Motherboars ready, the Intel D975XBX Bad Axe was a popular choice among enthusiasts who were lucky enough to obtain samples of Core 2 Duo. With the impending launch of Core 2 Quad in November, Intel unveils the D975XBX2, Bad Axe 2. This is Intel's most liberal move in favour of the enthusiasts. You'll see why... (Pencil Mods Included!)

The hottest thing right now in the display market are widescreens. There has been a huge upsurge in the demand for these products, as well as increased supply and more reasonable prices. I had a chance to work with Viewsonic's VX2025wm 20 widescreen LCD a gaming LCD that combined a widescreen display with some great performance specifications. In this review we will be working with Samsung's 225BW 22 LCD. Like so many new displays it uses a widescreen 16:10 display but this time we get to see Samsung's take on it. At 22 this display has a large size but that is not all it has going for it- it also has a reasonable, sub $400 price tag and some great features.

Even though the OCZ PC2-8800 Gold are designed for gamers they still offer features that you would usually see only on high-end overclockers' memory. Being able to run at a default of 1100 MHz DDR2 is very impressive, even though it requires around 2.4V to do that. In our testing we could get this $450 memory kit to DDR2-726 at CL3 and DDR2-1178 at CL6. This shows that this kit has something for everybody, no matter if you overclock just a little, or need insane FSB speeds.

"As we stated from the beginnning of Windows Vista development, the quality of the product will always be our first priority," Microsoft said in a statement. "That said, Microsoft continues to target Windows Vista availability for volume license customers in November 2006 and general availability in January 2007, although the final delivery will be based on quality." The software maker had hoped to have Vista on store shelves and in new PCs in time for this year's holiday season, but said in March that it would miss that date.
